Chapter Text

Yuu wakes up. Their vision was blurry. Their body ached. 

‘Where.. am I?’ They thought.

They looked up once their vision had cleared out.

The Mirror Chamber was.. destroyed. The roof was gone. Rubble was everywhere. There were.. blood on some of the rubble.

’What..? Who did this?’

Their thoughts were interrupted when they heard a scream. Ace’s scream.

”DEUCE!”

They looked where the screen was and saw it.

A giant beast, blowing fire as the others, casted spells at it.

Deuce was down on the ground, blood dripping from his head, previous old wounds from overblots reopening. Ace was trying to help Deuce up, despite his own injuries.

Riddle was on the ground, blood dripping from his head, his eyes trying to resist closing.

Trey is holding his arm, trying to help Riddle and the others who were unconscious.

Cater is using his spell, Card Spilt, to try and aid the others, or fight the beast before them.

Yuu stepped back a bit.

’No. No. No. No. No.’

Their eyes were started watering.

’No. No. No. No. NO. NO. NO.’

Their breathing started to get faster.

’NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.’

Yuu covers their eyes.

‘Everything is okay. Everything is okay-‘

Then their vision went black.

Yuu wakes up. Breathing in and out. Sweating.

”Yuu? Are you okay? Why are you up so late..?” Grim asked, clearly up now because of Yuu.

”I’m.. fine. I just had a nightmare is all.” “Oh okay.. *yawns* I’m going to go back to sleep..”

”Got it.”

’Everything is okay. Everyone is alive and well. Nothing bad is going to…’

Yuu looks at Grim. He was peacefully sleeping, muttering something about being the most powerful mage ever.

‘Something is going to happen to Grim… Is there something I can do?’

You are useless.

You stand by idly as your friends get hurt.

You act like everything is fine as you attempt to fix your own wounds.

You are nothing.

No wonder they didn’t want you.

Yuu took a deep breath before turning around to fall asleep again.

‘Nothing bad will.. happened.. right?’

Chapter Text

Yuu wakes up, they were desperate trying not to remember last night’s dream when they notice Grim, who is surprisedly up before them, and he was struggling to put on his bow.

”Hey, henchmen! Help me get my bow on!”

Yuu sighed as they get up and help Grim get his neck bow around his neck.

”Myah hahaha! Thank you, Henchmen!”

“You’re welcome, oh mighty Grim.” Yuu said sarcastically before getting ready themselves.

Yuu put on their uniform, and put on their school bag over their shoulder before leaving Ramshackle Dorm.

“Alright, Grim! Let’s go!” “Okay, don’t rush me, Henchmen!”

Yuu was walking down the Main Street, with Grim walking a few feet in front of them.

Grim is currently talking off their ear about something that they’re not particularly interested in when they noticed 5 particularly people.

“Hello, Ace and Deuce!” “Oh, hey Yuu and Grim!”

Deuce and Ace walked up to Yuu and Grim, who is now being carried in Yuu’s arms.

“Oh yeah, Yuu, you think you’ve can come to the unbirthday party this Saturday?”

“Hmm, I’m not sure..”

“What- Hey! Of course we could go, Henchman!”

“No, we got to study for the finals remember?”

“Gosh- You didn’t have to remind us about that-“ Ace said, clearly annoyed.

Yuu laughed a bit before Riddle, Trey and Cater approached the group.

“Oh, hello you three.” 

They said their hello’s and talked a bit as they all walks down Main Street.

Yuu was slowly zoning out of the conversation when they saw the dream again. With a voice talking as well.

Blood dripping from the heads of Deuce and Ace.

Cater’s lower half of his body crushed under rubble and burned marks across his arm.

Trey covered is burn marks, his arm twisted in the opposite way. 

Tears fall down from Riddle’s eyes, as blood flows down his mouth.

They all look so.. lifeless.

”This is all your fault. If only you didn’t allow your emotions to take over.”

Yuu turned around behind them, confused. 

“Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if you weren’t so gullible.”

Yuu turned to their right, clearly concerned.

They started to hold their head.

’I don’t understand. I don’t understand. I don't understand. I don’t understand-‘

”Yuu!”

Yuu looked at Ace, before looking at the rest. They all looked concerned.

”Yeah?”

”You were looking pale just now.. You also dropped Grim and started holding your head..” Trey said.

“Oh-! I’m sorry, Grim.” Yuu looked down at Grim, who has a mixed expression of concern and frustration.

”It’s fine, but are you okay?”

”Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” Yuu lied, looking at all of them.

“Really? You were really wobbly as well.” Riddle mentioned.

”Oh.. wait. That’s something Lilia mentioned also before the whole Malleus’s overblot.” Deuce said.

There was an awkward silence before Cater said something.

”Hey! How about we just go to the cafeteria? After all, we still got… 15 minutes before class properly starts.”

”Yeah, we should.”

They all walked towards the cafeteria and before Yuu could even enter the cafeteria, they saw a letter being flown to them.

”What?” Yuu looked at the letter.

”Hey, Yuu! Hurry up!”

”Ah- Coming!” Yuu then put the letter in their pocket before jogging towards the others.

Yuu zoned out as the others talked. Yuu wants to read the letter but they didn’t want the others to be nosy about what they have. So, they made an excuse. 

They got up, which did some of the others look at them, before Yuu said. 

“I got to go the bathroom. I’ll be right back.” 

“Alright, Yuu, but make sure you come back soon since we’re going to class soon.” Riddle said.

Yuu nodded before leaving the cafeteria.

Yuu walks to the bathroom and enters one of the stalls before opening the letter to read it.

‘Dear Yuu,

I have sent this letter to severe news to you as I’m just so busy! As for why, you’re getting this letter, I have news for you! News about getting you home! Please do meet me in my office and don’t bring Grim with you, as this discussion is private between you and me. Please do understand that this is private conversation and make sure he doesn’t cause any trouble now.

- From your kindness headmage, Crowley.’

Yuu reread the letter twice.

‘He finally has news for me after 9 months?’ Yuu thought. 

Yuu felt confused and hopeful. There was- no, is a chance they could finally go home.

Yuu then put the letter in their pocket and left the bathroom to go back to the others.

Yuu went in the cafeteria to see that Riddle, Trey, and Cater already left.

”Oh, there you are, Yuu! Class is probably going to start in a few minutes and Grim was trying to leave without you.” 

“Grim, what the hell-“

”It’s not my fault you took so long!”

“Alright, I’m sorry I took so long- Now, let’s just go to class.” Yuu said as they picked up Grim.

They all starts walking to Mr. Crewel’s class, Ace and Deuce were starting to bicker with each other, Grim was looking annoyed and tried at their petty argument.

”Hey, Ace or Deuce, do you think that one of you guys could watch Grim for a bit while I do some errands for Crowley?” Yuu asked.

The two stop bickering to answer Yuu’s question.

”Oh sorry, Yuu, I don’t think I can since I have practice today..” Deuce said, looking a bit apologetic.

”Hm, sure I guess. I don’t go anything else to do, besides I guess studying.” Ace said.

Grim meanwhile looked a bit annoyed and said, “I don’t need babysitting, Yuu! If you’re doing something, take me with you!”

”I’m sorry, Grim but Crowley said something about this task is something for me entirely and the last time I left you alone to go do something, you almost set Ramshackle on fire!” Yuu responded back.

“Hmp!” Grim pouted.

They all then entered the classroom and sat in their seats as they waited for Crewel to come.

Chapter Text

“Ahhhh… Vargas’s class is so hardddd-!” Grim complained.

”I know, I know..” Yuu said as they picked up Grim for like the 100th time.

It was unfortunate that the last class for them was Vargas’s class. But that was fine, since Yuu now has to go to Crowley, which is arguably worse than Vargas’s class.

Yuu walks towards Ace, particularly pushing Grim in Ace’s arms. Much to Grim’s annoyance.

“Hey!” Grim shouted.

“Sorry Grim.” Yuu muttered before saying,

“Thank you, Ace for watching Grim, he never specified how long the ‘errand’ would take so I hope you don’t mind!”

”You’re welcome but you got to remember that you have to repay me.” Ace said with a smirk.

”Yeah, yeah. I’ll repay you tomorrow with a cherry tart, alright?”

”Seems like a deal to me!” Ace said cheerfully.

”Alright, goodbye Ace and Grim!”

”Bye, Yuu!”

Yuu then walks out of the Heartslabyul Dorm mirror and walks towards Crowley’s office.

‘Is it possible that he found a way home for me? It’s unlikely since he’s… not really responsible.. Or maybe he didn’t- No! No. No. I will go home one way or another, I swear. Besides, Mickey will help me if Crowley can’t.. but I haven’t seen him in while…’

Questions were going through their head, before they realized that they reached Crowley’s office.

They took a deep breath, hold onto their necklace, before knocking on the door.

”Oh? Is that you, Yuu?”

”Yes, it is.”

”Great, now come in!”

Yuu opened the door, seeing that Crowley is seated in his chair.

”Come now, take a seat.” Crowley said.

Yuu took a seat, infront of Crowley’s desk and he asked,

”You gotten my letter correct?”

Yuu nodded before saying,

”If I didn’t get the letter, I wouldn’t even be here in the first place. Besides, you have my number on my phone. You could have just message me.”

”I did? Well, this was a more productive way for me to do so as I am so busy!”

’Or you’re more likely to procrastinate than anything.’ Yuu thought.

”Anyways, like my letter said, I have news about you getting home!”

”And?”

”..I can’t get you home.”

”.. What?” Yuu said with a shocked expression.

“Now, before you ask why, I’ll explain. Now, I did my research on how it’s possible for someone to get to an another world without magic and manage to get here, however! I believe I got the answer! It is that.. You died in your original world, hypothetically.”

Yuu’s mind started to zone out the moment Crowley said that they died in their original world.

’I.. died? No. That’s not possible, it.. can’t be possible. No. No. No. no. I’m still alive.’ Yuu thought.

“And- Ah, Yuu? Are you okay?”

‘I’m still alive. I’m still alive. I’M STILL ALIVE. I’M STILL ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE.‘

Tears starts to form. Their hands slowly come up to their face.

”Yuu..?”

’I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE. I  A M  S T I L L  ALIVE-‘

“YUU!”

Yuu looked up, placing their hands down.

”*Ahem*, Are you okay?” Crowley asked with a hand on their shoulder.

No.

”I’m.. fine. Don’t worry.”

Why must you put up a mask?

”Are you sure, you seem like you’re-“ 

No.

“I’m fine.”

Stop lying to yourself.

”Hm. If you insist. Now, allow me to discuss what other options you have considering you’re going to be here forever.”

I don’t have a future here.

”Crowley. I don’t even have a birth certificate or an identification card to begin with.”

I don’t have an identity here. Or in my original world actually.

”Well- We’re going to figure it out surely-“

You keep telling lies to reassure me of my reality.

”Are you lying?”

Stop with all the lies.

”What? No! Why would I lie to my students?”

So you can escape your responsibilities and place it on a child.

”… Can we discuss this an another time?”

I want to cry.

”Hm, I don’t think that’s likely considering my schedule is quite busy..”

Stop lying.

”… Please?”

You just want a place to cry.

”Hm. Fine, I’ll try to find a day to talk about it, alright?”

And then, you’re going to forget about it, aren’t you?

Yuu got up and run out of Crowley’s office.

They ran and ran and ran, before stopping in an empty classroom.

They sat on the ground, before crying uncontrollably.

They placed an hand over their mouth, trying to silence themselves.

’Do you really have to be this pathetic and dumb?’

Shut up.

’Someone is going to catch you crying here you dumbass.’

Shut up.

’No wonder you died in your original world. The world just got rid of a parasite that’s been there for too long.’

Shut up.

’No wonder no one wanted you. You’re a stupid child.’

Shut UP.

’Now, go in a ditch and die! No one wants you here.’

SHUT UP!

Yuu stopped as footsteps were coming by. They needed to do something. Quick.

Yuu got up, and rushed to go hide under the teacher’s desk, hearing the door open.

”Huh. I thought I heard someone crying for a moment.” A slight familiar voice said. It’s was Ace’s.

”Goodness, where did Grim go? He’s going to worry the shit out of Yuu once they’re done.” Ace said before leaving the classroom.

’Grim..? What did he do?’ Yuu thought.

Ace was busy, looking at the study materials for the upcoming finals.

Now, Grim should be doing the same as well, however he didn’t feel like it! And besides, he can’t understand the materials as well anyways.

Not that he would admit it, nope!

“*sighs* Man, I still can’t believe that after Mallues’s overblot, we still go to work on our finals.”

“I know! It’s stupid!”

”Grim, you’re not even studying, you can’t said anything!”

”Well- The material is still too hard to understand anyways!”

”Yeah, and you’re not even looking at it.”

”Well- Uh…”

Grim went silent, trying to comeback with a defense for himself but he can’t.

”Hm. When would Yuu come back anyways? I know they said that they didn’t know how long the errand would be but it’s just ONE errand. It shouldn’t take too long.”

“You’re right! Maybe I should find Yuu myself! After all, if I was there to help, we would have finished it a lot faster!” Grim demands, sounding a bit annoyed and righteous.

”Grim-“

When Ace turned away from his desk, Grim was already gone.

“What- Hey! Grim!” Ace yelled as he got up from his seat.

Grim is walking across the Main Street, clearly annoyed.

”Oh my GOSH! Where are they!? Usually I would see them around here whenever they’re doing errands but they’re not here!” He complained as he sat next to The Thorn Fairy statue.

‘I checked everywhere! They would had at least mentioned something about the errand they were doing if they- Wait. Yuu never said anything about what their errand was… That-‘

“Grim! There you are!” Ace yelled as he got out his magic pen.

Grim immediately got up and ran as Ace chased him again, blasting spells to potential stop him.

Eventually, he (somehow) managed to lost Ace and hid in a closet, which is filled with random stuff, in an empty classroom, leaving a small crack of the door.

‘Mya haha! Of course, Ace couldn’t catch up with me! I’m too good after all!’ Grim thought, clearly beaming with pride.

Then he heard footsteps, running towards here.

’Oh crud. Did I get caught after all!?’ Grim thought, planning to leave the closet before he peeked through the crack.

Luckily for him, it wasn’t Ace but... It was Yuu? And they looked.. defeated? Or rather sad.

Then, they went down on their knees and started… crying. 

They put up their arms around themselves, hugging themselves, before putting a hand over their mouth. Then a sound could be heard.

Footsteps were coming.

Yuu then put their arms down before rushing towards the desk and hide under it.

The door opens, revealing Ace peeking in the classroom.

”Huh. I thought I heard someone crying for a moment.” Ace said, with a neutral face.

Ace stared at the classroom before turning away from the classroom and saying,

”Goodness, where did Grim go? He’s going to worry the shit out of Yuu once they’re done.” 

He then left the classroom.

Grim looks over at Yuu, now coming out of the desk.

They looked at the door, before muttering,

”Goodness, I need to stop crying. *sighs* Grim or the others can’t know about this..” Right before they left the classroom.

Grim, now leaving the closet, was just staring at the door.

It’s.. strange. Yuu saying that he or the others didn’t need to know about this, reminded him of something.

————

“Man.. Just as we’re going to have a break for once, now we’re JUST finish the Scarabia nonsense! Isn’t this dumb, Yuu?!” Grim complaining as he gets ready for bed.

”Winter break is now almost over now because of it!” 

“…”

”And we had to go through a ANOTHER overblot AND Crowley didn’t help?! Doesn’t this suck!?”

”…”

”We can’t even- Henchhuman? Are you going to say anything?!”

”…”

”.. Yuu?”

”Hm? Oh, sorry Grim. I just.. blank out for a bit.”

”Okay.. if you say so.”

’Aghhh- I can’t sleep! Who is making noise this late!?’ Grim thought, very annoyed.

Grim looked up, to see if Yuu couldn’t sleep either, only to see them, tears running down their face.

”Huh- Yuu?”

”What- Grim?”

Yuu sat upright, looking at Grim, before saying,

”I’m sorry for disturbing your sleep- I’ll-“

”Minion- Yuu, why are you crying? Are you okay?!”

Grim got up and went up to Yuu, hugging them. Yuu slowly placed their hands over Grim’s back.

”I- *sighs* I’m sorry. I’m just tried. Tried for what happened these past months. That’s all.”

”Well- You could have at least told me or, heck even Deuce or Ace!”

”… I.. Could. Sorry for not telling you earlier.”

”Hm! It’s okay, just promise me that you’ll tell me or the others!”

”..I promise.”

‘Yuu.. you promise that you’ll tell would tell me or the others.. Why would you lie?’ Grim thought.

After Yuu came to Ace, who states that he can’t find Grim. Then..

Grim so happens to come up to Yuu and Ace. However he did looked a bit upset, but Yuu didn’t mention it.

”Grim! There you are. Where did you go?”

”.. I just went to the kitchen in Heartslabyul because I was hungry!”

”Really? Trey was in there though and he would have said something by now..”

”Well, I hid super well inside the kitchen!”

”Uh huh. Sure. Anyways, bye Yuu and Grim.” Ace said before returning back to Heartslabyul.

Yuu and Grim came back to Ramshackle Dorm, being greeted by the ghosts right before they disappeared again to do whatever they’re going.

“Grim, should we go try to study for our tests or should we just eat dinner now and study after?” 

“Hm.. Maybe we should just eat first. I refuse to eat on a hunger stomach!” 

Yuu nodded before walking off to the kitchen, going to get tuna and something for Grim and themselves.

Right before Yuu got Grim’s tuna, they placed the letter in the cabinet.

Yuu tried to sleep. They are now, just staring at the ceiling.

They can’t sleep. It’s frustrating. Are they refusing to sleep because of the dream?

’No. No. No. Nothing bad will happen, nothing bad will happen, they will get home one way or another. Riddle, Trey, Cater, Deuce and Ace are fine. Night Raven Collage will not get destroyed. Grim will not overblot.’ Yuu thought, trying desperately to not think of the warning signs.

Yuu turned their head on left side as they saw green lights in the distance.

‘Hornton!’ Yuu thought as they got out of bed, trying to not wake up Grim as they left.

When Yuu got outside, they walked towards Malleus.

”Oh, there you are, Child of Man.”

”Hello, Hornton!”

”You seem quite happy to see me.”

”Yeah.. It’s.. been a bit rough for me lately..”

”Really now? Do you wish to talk about it?”

Yuu stayed quiet, pondering about Malleus’s question, holding onto their necklace.

‘Maybe it would be nice to..’

Why are you venting about your problems on students who can take advantage of you?

’But he’s my friend-‘

That’s not stopping him from using you. You’re a burden for this world anyways.

’He’s concerned for me though.’

Oh please. He could be acting. It’s not smart to reveal information that could be used against you.

’…’

Remember, this is Night Raven Collage students.
People who have always alternative motives to take advantage of you. Just like they did.

’Fine. I won’t tell him.’

”No, I don’t want to talk about it.”

”I understand then.. Is there anything you wish to talk about?”

”Do.. You ever wish you saw your parents?”

”Hm? Where is this question coming from?”

”Ever since I saw Lilia’s dream, I have been wondering this. Do you though?”

”Well, I guess it’s a question I never really thought of and never bothered to speculate about.”

”Why that?”

”I believe that’s because of Lilia. He acted much like a father to me when he visited me. Ever though, those moments were short, I still appreciated it regardless because it was Lilia.”

”Oh.”

”Speaking of family, Child of Man, I never heard you ever talk about your family. Why is that?”

”It’s complicated… I will say.”

”What do you mean?”

”Well.. What place in this world, do you consider home to you?” Yuu asked, swiftly changing the topic.

”Hm, I guess where I live. Why do you ask?”

”Do you ever think someone could consider a person as a home?”

”.. I do not know.”

”…”

”…”

”Hornton, thank you for this talk. I feel a lot better.”

“.. You’re welcome, Child of Man. I believe this is the time for me to go now.”

”Alright, bye Hornton.”

“Goodbye, now.”

Malleus disappeared then. Small green lights flashed before Yuu’s eyes.

”I guess, I should try to sleep now.” Yuu said before returning back to Ramshackle Dorm.

”I wished I said something to Hornton about the dreams…”

After Yuu laid down on their bed, again, they didn’t realize that they were very tired and they immediately closed their eyes.

Yuu’s eyes opened as they’re in a dream. They got up to look around, it was… what had happened in the previous dream.

The Mirror Chamber was destroyed, rubble was everywhere and.. Wait.

There was something different. Yuu expected to see the Heartslabyul students again but.. It was Savannaclaw instead.

Ruggie was crushed under one of the rubble, blood soaked on him and the floor.

Jack was desperately trying to help Ruggie, despite the injuries around his body, which his injuries looked like they’re caused by a sword.

Leona, whoever, was fighting against someone instead of the beast in the first dream.

The figure seems to be in some dress, they had a veil over their head and shoulders, and.. that’s all Yuu could distinguish from the figure design as they were covered in black. Like if they were the darkness that they, and the others encountered within the dreams.

They figured move slowly, and like they’re moving like they are on strings. Leona looks like he mouthed something before he moved his hand towards the sword, right before he was interrupted by a blast of fire from the right, which was from no other than the beast from the last dream.

However… This time, Yuu could see a distinct design from it.

Its eyes were cyan, with the main pupils being stars.

It’s eyes look somewhat familiar to Grim’s.

Around its neck, there were.. octopus tentacles that went around all over its neck. Like if it was a lion’s mane.

Then.. the dream went black.

Yuu sat right up again. Panicked and dazed.

Yuu then got off the bed, before they decided to walk around outside, to try and clear their head.

’Who was that figure? Why did I get shown an another dream of this? Something is going to happen here and I don’t know what to do. I could tell someone but would they believe me?’

You should know the answer by now. No one will believe you.

‘Why? Why am I being shown these dreams? I already have so much to do. I need to find a way home-‘

But you’re dead. You can’t return home.

’We got the finals coming up, I- Crowley never discussed about what will happen to me or Grim when summer break starts.’

Of course, he didn’t. Why would he? You are a burden to deal with.

’What do these dreams mean? If there any disaster that happen, everyone would be-‘

Maybe they’re trying to save Grim. Unlike you.

’Surely, there’s something I can do right? I can help to stop this-‘

You didn’t do anything to stop the overblots despite the warnings signs. Despite the dreams warning you.

Yuu then stopped. They felt like they were being watched, they turned around and..

There was a figure, staring at them. 

They looked fully black, and looked completely like them.

Then they disappeared.

”What..? Am I hallucinating? No, no.” Yuu muttered before running back to Ramshackle.

Maybe they need more sleep.

Chapter Text

Yuu woke up again, with Grim sleeping by their side.

They patted Grim’s head right before he wakes up and he scolded them for patting him like he was a cat. (Even though he is.)

They both got ready and went away from Ramshackle to go on Main Street.

Right before Yuu could say hi to Ace or Deuce, someone tapped on their shoulder.

”Hm?”

It’s was Ruggie.

”Ruggie? What is it?”

”We need you two to help us.”

”With what?”

”We need to drag some stuff for the upcoming Spelldrive interscholastic tournament.” Ruggie explained.

“But why would you need our help? Don’t you got the other guys in Savannaclaw to help you?” Grim asked.

”I already asked them, which they’re busy bringing the bigger stuff as of now, and we got to do this before classes since Leona just told me this morning. Besides, I promise to pay you guys back-“

”Could you buy a cherry tart for me then?” Yuu asked.

”Ah- Sure, but why?”

”It’s for Ace.”

”Okay, fine. Let’s go ahead and finish this now.” Ruggie said, as he went towards the gym.

”Man, did we need to help him?”

”Grim, I’ll get you extra tuna if you stick around with me.”

”Never mind, let’s go do this!” Grim said as he rushed towards Ruggie.

As they followed Ruggie, Yuu could feel the figure they saw last night watching them.

“Come on! We only go 14 more minutes before class!” Ruggie shouted as he walked with a bunch of brooms.

Yuu and Grim were also holding brooms as well the disks that were used.

”Man, Ruggie could have done all of this himself..” Grim grunted as they walked towards the coliseum.

Eventually, they got there and saw that the coliseum had plenty of Savannaclaw, as well some of the students who were in the Spelldrive Club, helping out as well.

”Ruggie, where do you want us to place the brooms and disks?”

”Somewhere over there.”

”Alright.”

Yuu and Grim placed down the brooms and disks when Jack came up to them.

”Oh hi, Jack.”

“Hello, Yuu. I assume you got dragged by Ruggie to help out?”

”Yeah, but he promised to repay us-“

”Mainly Yuu though!” Grim said, a bit annoyed.

“Oh, well, I’m off to class soon, do you want to come with me?”

“Sure.”

“*yawns* Can you three quiet down?” A another voice says as he got up.

”Leona, you were sleeping there?” Jack asked in surprise, despite having him as a housewarden.

”Yeah, I need to keep an eye on my dorm mates after all.”

Ruggie then walks up to the rest, 

“Oi, Leona. We finish all of this, and I promise Yuu something for their help, so could I-“

”Here.” Leona threw his wallet to Ruggie.

”Oh, thanks. Shyehehehehe!”

Yuu looked at all of them, feeling weird and yet nausea falling on to them.

Old wounds of Ruggie’s reopens as a piece of rubble falls on his legs as he tries to run.

Jack coughs up blood as he falls to the ground, still stubbornly tries to keep fight despite his injuries.

Leona, who wears a face of despair, falls on his knees as he casts King’s Roar as blue fire blasts towards him.

They’re all desperately trying to survive. Despite the unfairness in the fight.

”Look at them. Trying to cling on their lives.”

Yuu turns around again. Even though there’s no one there.

”Do you truly believe that you will be able change this fate?”

Yuu looks at the ground, closing their eyes.

“You are worthless.”

“Yuu? You okay?”

”Sorry, let’s go.”

”But Yuu-“

”Come on, let’s go!”

Yuu picked up Grim as they went, leaving Leona, Ruggie, and Jack, confused.

”Jack, make sure you talk to the herbivore.”

”Yes, Housewarden Leona.” Jack said as he ran up to Yuu and Grim.

After school, Yuu was studying with Grim when they got a message from Jack.

Jack: ‘Yuu, Leona noticed something about your behavior ever since this morning. Could you please meet me in the Botanical Garden so we can talk? Also, don’t take Grim with you since I prefer this be a private conversation.”

Yuu:‘Sure, I guess but we’re currently studying as of now and I don’t want to abandon Grim on his own.’

Jack: ‘I promise it will be quick.’

Yuu: ‘Alright then, I’ll come then.’

Yuu looked at Grim.

“Grim, I got to do something really quick, be right back!”

”What- Where are you going!” Grim demands but Yuu was already gone.

Yuu put their phone in their pocket, before walking to the Botanical Garden.

As they walked to the garden, they couldn’t help but think about what Jack had said.

’Leona noticed something about your behavior ever since this morning.’ That’s what Jack typed. 

‘There’s nothing wrong with my behavior.’

Stop lying to yourself.

Yuu enters the Botanical Garden, seeing Jack waiting around the entrance of the garden.

”Jack, what do you want to discuss about my behavior?”

You’re not okay.

”Well, when Leona threw his wallet at Ruggie, you just stood there. You looked.. panicked as your breath went faster. Are you okay, Yuu?”

No.

”I’m fine.”

Stop lying.

”But you seem pale too now thinking about it. Did you talk to Crowley about it like Lilia suggested?”

No, why would I talk to that irresponsible bastard?

”Ah- No. I’m currently busy and I completely forgot about that.” 

Why are you lying to your loved ones?

“.. Yuu, you’re not lying, are you?”

Jack, please stop talking.

”No? Why would I lie to you?”

You are a liar, Yuu.

”I know you wouldn’t lie to us but.. Something in my gut tell me that’s something not right..”

Jack, stop talking.

”Maybe it’s been a long day for you.. Maybe you should go back to your dorm.”

Trying to smooth talk out of this, are you?

”Speaking of your behavior…”

What?

”I think Deuce mentioned something about you looking pale as well yesterday when you guys met up.”

”I assure you. I’m fine.”

You want to run.

”Really? It’s concerning that it happened three times though..”

You want to scream.

”It’s fine! It’s hasn’t done anything harmful to me yet.”

It’s affecting your health.

”If you.. insist. Just you know, if there’s anything on your mind, just tell us, alright?” Jack said with concern.

Why do you insist when I am leaving one way or another.

”I know, I know. I got to go now, bye Jack!”

Yuu then ran out of the Botanical Garden before Jack could said anything.

Yuu, looked at their phone, ‘9:55 pm’.

’Shit. Grim probably set Ramshackle on fire as on now.’ Yuu laughed as the thought. Surely, Grim wouldn’t do that, right?

Yuu walked to Ramshackle, seeing Grim sleeping on the couch.

”Huh. I thought he would still be awake..” Yuu said out loud.

They picked up Grim, intending to bring Grim to their room.

As they brought Grim to their room, they couldn’t help but feel someone watching. Nor the letter pushed the cushions of the couch in the lounge.

Yuu said about something about going somewhere real quick, which Grim asked if he could go with them, but they left before he could know.

They’re being so distant recently, and they started acting like this last week too! Well, Grim couldn’t said anything since he’s kinda acting the same but- STILL! 

It.. hurts. Yuu used to be so.. affectionate by annoying Grim by petting him or scratching under his chin. Of course, they still do that, but it’s less often.

‘Maybe they’re getting tried of him- No! That’s not possible. They’re my henchmen!’ Grim thought.

Grim then got up from the bed and ran downstairs, planning to find Yuu himself again since he really didn’t have anything else to do.

“Yuu! Where are you! Yuu!” Grim yelled as he walked on Main Street.

He checked the cafeteria, he checked the classrooms, he checked the dorms, he checked the Botanical Garden, and he checked with the dorms. 

‘WHERE ARE THEY???’ Grim thought.

Maybe he should go back to Ramshackle…

After he came back from searching for Yuu, which he couldn’t even find them! He realized that..

He needs to eat something. He completely forgot to eat when he left!

So, he looks around the kitchen, trying to find tuna or a snack he could eat.

As Grim looked through the cabinets, he found something else…

He found a letter. 

Grim’s curiosity was immediately.

‘A letter? Why was this here?’ He thought as he took the letter.

The letter seem crumpled up are the corners, despite looking folding neatly.

At the top of the letter, 

‘Dear Yuu,’

”Yuu?” Grim wondered out loud.

’When did Yuu get this letter?’ He thought.

Grim walked to the lounge, clutching the letter in his paws.

He looked at the letter, for a while before opening it.

‘Dear Yuu,

I have sent this letter to severe news to you as I’m just so busy! As for why, you’re getting this letter, I have news for you! News about getting you home! Please do meet me in my office and don’t bring Grim with you, as this discussion is private between you and me. Please do understand that this is private conversation and make sure he doesn’t cause any trouble now.

- From your kindness headmage, Crowley.’

‘Yuu had a letter about… getting home. That’s a good thing! Maybe that good for nothing headmage actually had a way for them to get home!’ Grim thought, trying to bury the aching in his heart.

’Yuu can go home… without me.

Yuu will leave Twisted Wonderland.

Grim’s mind slowly spirals. 

Yuu had gotten a letter about going home.. But then why did Crowley asked in this letter to be private?

Grim felt his eyes water.

He stared at the letter. Tears falling on the paper, stained it.

Grim knew he is selfish for crying.

Yuu, from the start, always wanted to go home.

He had seen Yuu stared at their necklace, a reminder of their home.

He had heard Yuu happily talk about memories from their home.

He had seen Yuu cry.. Because they weren’t home.

He has no right to cry because.. He doesn’t know what’s it like missing home. 

He never had one anyways.

But.. Here he is. Crying. 

At some point, he placed the letter around the cushions on the couch.

As the tears slowly stop, he laid down, feeling tiredness hit him.

Maybe a nap would help him a bit…

After Yuu placed Grim on their bed, they looked through the materials that were provided for studying.

“*yawns* Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to look through these one more time..” 

Yuu looked the textbooks, reading the materials when they felt their eyes slowly closing, before their head fell back wards on the couch chair they were sitting on.

Yuu wakes up again. It’s the same place as in the first and second dream. 

Rubble is everywhere, the dark mirror is destroyed, and.. there’s bodies everywhere.. of the previous dorms in the past two dreams.

Yuu got up, hearing screams from the students and rubble falling down. Yuu tried to ignore it all as they looked down, this time they noticed something…

They were in the ceremonial robes this time in this dream, which was strange considering, in the past dreams, they weren’t in different clothing.

‘Strange..’ They thought as blue fire was blasted through them.

They looked up to see the beast again, this time, they could see more of its appearance.

It had a snake for a tail, it’s back feet resembled a dinosaur or dragon’s foot while the front feet looks like hands.

It roared as spells were blasted at him, though the spells looked like it did no effect on it. 

Floyd seems to shout something out but Yuu couldn’t hear it. He used his Unique Magic, though it barely did anything to help him in his injured state.

Azul is on the ground, coughing out blood as he tries to get up, unaware about the falling rubble that ended up crushing his arm.

He screams in agony and horror as Yuu looked away. Trying to take deep breaths.

As Yuu looked away, Yuu looked at where Jade was. He was fighting with the figure in the previous dream.

This time, however, they could see more from their design than last time.

Besides the veil over their head, they had a dress, and was wearing ballet like shoes on.

In their hand, they looked like they were holding a sword. The figure had their head tilted as Jade was knocked on the ground.

The figure stared at Jade right before they held Jade by his collar before they stabbed him.

Jade, for the first time ever since their first interaction, looks so small and weak as the figure let him go, right before looking back at Yuu.

Yuu stood up from the couch chair. 

They slowly moved out of their bedroom, as their breaths became faster as they descended down the stairs.

They stood in lounge, staring down for a long time. They took a deep breath, before covering their face.

’Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Din’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry-‘

Yuu’s legs slowly give out as they fall to the ground.

’You got this, you will be okay. You got this, you will be okay.’

Yuu’s hand slowly moving to their neck to their necklace.

They stared at it. See their reflection in the light purple gem in the middle.

’Goodness.. I look like shit..’ Yuu thought, before the figure placed a hand on their shoulder.

Yuu stared at the figure, the figure stared back.

”Look at you. You’re pathetic. You got so worked up over a small dream.”

…

”You insist you’re okay. Hah! You’re worse than the NRC students. And they refuse to communicate properly! But then we have you.”

Why? Why are you so cruel?

”Oh please! You should be asking this yourself. You’re the one that’s cruel.”

.. You’re not me.

”Awww! Look at you, lying to yourself! It’s quite sad. I’m surprised they still bother with you.”

…

The figure then disappeared.

Yuu looked back at their necklace, before chuckling a bit.

”… I’m quite stupid, aren’t I?” They said before they got up, walking back to their room.

As they walked back, the figure just simply watched.

’When will you come to your senses?’

Yuu woke up. The unnerving feeling still hasn’t left them after since last night.

Yuu shook Grim up, much to his dismay.

”Come on, we got to go.” 

“Aghh- Fine, Henchmen.” Grim pouted.

Yuu went to go change their clothes and after they did that, they grabbed Grim and went out to meet up with Ace and Deuce.

It was lunch time, Yuu was just finished eating with the rest of the first years, and then Floyd appeared behind them.

”Hey, Shrimpy~!”

”Why hello Floyd..” Yuu said, avoiding eye contact.

”Why don’t you and Baby Seal?”

”NO-“ “No.”

”Awww, did I say you had a choice?”

“But you asked-“ Yuu was then interrupted by Floyd carrying them and Grim.

”HEY-“

“Let’s gooo!”

Floyd proceeds to run as he carries Yuu over his shoulder and Grim being held like a basketball.

Yuu saw Deuce getting up and Jack using his signature spell, attempting to chase down Floyd. 

’This is not going to end well.’ Yuu thought.

After Floyd managed to get away from Deuce and Jack, he dropped Yuu and Grim.

”OOF-!” “Ouch-.”

”Now, we can do something fun!”

Yuu sat up, looking where they were at.

They’re in Octavinelle… Why?

”Floyd, why are we here??”

”Because I want to show you something here!”

”You could have shown us after school though..”

”Ehhh, nah. I’ll be bored by then and I probably won’t even get to show you guys.”

“.. Whatever you said.” Yuu said as they got up, along with Grim.

Floyd the happily dragged Yuu and Grim towards... the attic stairs… And Jade and Azul were there.

”Huh, I thought you and Jade would be in the cafeteria.”

“Well, I got news from my club mate that he saw you running with Yuu and Grim while the other freshman were chasing you. So, I told Azul about it.” Jade swiftly said.

“Aw man, someone snitched.. Maybe I should squeeze them later..”

”Please don’t.” Yuu replied, looking at Floyd.

“Well, can I show Shrimpy and Baby Seal this?” 

“I guess you could, just make sure you don’t cause any havoc.” Azul said.

”No promises~!” 

“Why did I bother-? *ahem* You know what, me and Jade will come with you three then.”

“Aww, but I wanted this to be between me, Baby Seal, and Shrimpy..” Floyd complained.

Yuu watched as Azul, Jade, and Floyd talk as they’re about to go the attic stairs.

Floyd coughed up blood as more rubble fall.

Azul falls unconscious after his arm got crushed.

Jade falls towards the ground.

“This is all your fault.”

”This is all your fault, Yuu.”

”This is why no one wants you. You are a waste of space.”

”If only you didn’t get into that argument.”

“..Yuu?” 

Yuu looked down to see Grim looking at them with concern.

”Oh my, you looked like you seen a body.” Jade said.

“Man, Shrimpy, you good?” 

“Yuu, do you wish to talk about it?”

”Sorry, me and Grim got to go!”

Yuu picked up Grim and ran.

“Oh man. They left.”

”Weren’t you the reason why they’re here in the first place?”

”Yeah, but now they’re got boring.”

“Well, even then, how likely do you think that they would have fall in the water and drown?”

”Are you talking about Grim or Yuu?” Azul questioned, partly concerned.

”Yuu. They seem out of it.”

”*sighs* Probably very likely then.” Azul said as he walked away from Floyd and Jade. Who followed him in return.

Yuu ran until they reached to the Woods behind the Campus.

They put Grim down and sat down near a tree, curled up into a ball.

”Yuu! Are you okay?”

”…”

”Yuu.. Please answer me.”

”I’m sorry. It’s been a rough week for me, we should go back to the cafeteria, the others must be worried!”

”.. Okay.” Grim said hesitantly.

Yuu picked up Grim again, as they walked, the figure stood near the tree they were at. 

This time, other than standing there, it had 4 fingers up. Right before it disappeared.

‘Four?’ Yuu thought.

After school, Yuu and Grim were sitting in silence, Yuu was trying to read a book, while Grim sat there. Which is unusual since Grim would be talking Yuu’s ear off by now.

“Yuu.. You been have weird lately.”

”Grim, what do you mean-?”

”You’re being distant, you have been zoning out every day, and so much more!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about- I have been perfectly fine.”

”Really? I doubt that! I found you crying two days ago!”

’What?’

”Grim, why are you lying now? I was helping Crowley with a errand-“

”No! You were crying in a classroom and said that you didn’t need to tell anyone!”

Yuu placed down the book they’re holding.

”Grim.. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

”Yuu, stop lying! You know you’re lying and you know it!”

”I’m not, Grim..”

”Yuu… Why are you lying..? You promised that you would tell any one of us if you’re feeling upset!”

“…”

’Little do you know, they’ll just use you, Yuu.’

’Stop falling into lies.’

‘Don’t listen to him.’

”Yuu. Answer me!” Grim demand.

“I’m.. going on a walk.”

”What- Why are you not answering me?!”

”Grim, just SHUT UP! I’M NOT FUCKING OBLIGATORY TO ANSWER TO YOU!”

Grim stood stunned, shocked by the fact Yuu raised their voice.

Yuu simply stared back at him before walking off towards the entrance of Ramshackle Dorm.

Yuu walked and walked. Their eyes were focused on the ground.

They weren’t looking where they’d been going, just kept walking.

They eventually stopped, sitting down.

Right before they cried.

‘What’s wrong with you? You yelled at someone who is innocent?’

’Shut up.’

‘Am I wrong? He’s concerned about you.’

’…’

’Honestly, it’s no wonder you’re an burden.’

’Leave me alone. Please.’

’…’

Yuu slowly curled themselves into a ball. Sitting there, not realizing that someone is approaching.

”Yuu?”

Yuu immediately looked up to see Jade, in his Mountain Lover’s gear.

”…”

”Are you okay? You’re just.. crying for a bit.”

”I’m fine.”

“Yuu, I hope you know lying isn’t your strong suit-“

Yuu already ran off.

’So this is the game you want to play? Fine.’ Jade thought.

Jade started walking behind them as they ran, but he slowly fasted his pace as Yuu started to slow down.

Jade then held Yuu like he was giving a hug.

”Let me go-“

”Yuu, you don’t seem okay. Do you wish to talk about it?”

”No! I need to go back to Ramshackle-“

Jade bleeding on the ground as he stares at you. 

In shock. In fear. 

A hand reaches out to his chin again as the sword in your hand stabs him once more.

“This is all your fault.”

Yuu, still trying to process what they saw, still trying to get out of Jade’s arms.

”You looked like you seen a body once again, Yuu.”

”LET ME GO- YOU’RE GOING TO DIE SOON ANYWAYS-“ Yuu nearly screamed as Jade let them go, in surprise.

Yuu, taking this chance to run, ran once again. Leaving a surprise Jade.

’Hm? What could they possibly mean..?’ Jade thought as he watched them run.

Yuu ran back to Ramshackle. It’s nearly night time.

’Goodness..’ They thought, ignoring the tears and pain they feel.

After Yuu walked away. Grim, on autopilot, he went back to the couch.

He just stared at the ground.

He didn’t know what to do. Yuu ran and.. He just didn’t have the energy to go run after them.

“Grim, just SHUT UP! I’M NOT FUCKING OBLIGATORY TO ANSWER TO YOU!”

Those words ring through his head.

What did he do wrong? 

Maybe he shouldn’t ask too many questions.

Maybe he should have given Yuu space.

But then.. they would have became even more distant from him and that’s the last thing he’s wants.

Maybe they’ll purposely keeping their distance because they’re going home..

Home.

Everyone, at least have a home. Someone they can confide with or at least have a place to stay.

Something that he and Yuu don’t really have. But even then..

Yuu has been hoping to go home. Even if they slipped up that, they don’t really have a proper home themselves.

Yuu was looking at their necklace again.

Their eyes simply solely focused upon the necklace as their fingers rub around the gem in the middle.

”Henchmen!”

”Henchmen..?”

”Hm? Oh sorry, Grim.”

”Why are you just staring at your necklace?”

”Ah- Well, it’s a reminder of home. That’s all.”

”Oh. Well, even then, you seem really focused on it.”

”It’s a gift.”

”Okay then.”

Yuu looked back at the necklace again. Grim just looked outside.

Grim would have just fully daydreamed if he hadn’t heard what Yuu muttered.

”I wished I had a real home.”

”Huh? What do you mean by that?”

”Hm? I didn’t say anything.”

”.. Whatever you say, minion.”

Grim woke up. He hadn’t even realized that he had felt asleep.

Where he had woken up in.. It’s completely dark.

’It’s.. looks like the darkness in the dreams..’ He thought.

As he got up from the ground…

A voice appeared.

“Grim.”

”M-mya?! Who’s there?”

”I will ask you two questions and you must answer honestly.”

”Uh.. Okay! It better be quick!”

“What is your greatest desire?”

“Hm? My desire.. To be the most powerful mage very in the world!”

”Hm. What is your second greatest desire?”

”Second desire..? Well…”

‘What is my second desire?’

”I.. don’t know.”

”Liar. I can sense your pain. Frustration. About your second desire.”

”But I’m being honest!”

“No. You’re not.”

”But I-“

”Do you wish you have a home?”

”… Maybe. But NRC is my home!”

”No, it’s not.”

”Well- Ramshackle is my home!”

”Really? Even after they leave?”

”…”

”So? What is your second greatest desire?”

Grim looked down for a while.

Memories flashed through his head.

Yuu messing with Grim by holding up his tuna far from him.

Yuu helping with Grim’s injuries from Riddle’s overblot, despite their own injuries.

Yuu drying Grim after he got wet from a mishap from a spell.

Yuu fixing Grim’s bow.

Yuu petting Grim, despite his protests.

Yuu hugging Grim, despite him… Injuring him.

Yuu and Grim dancing together in the party, Malleus invited everyone to come.

”To be with my henchmen. No matter what.”

”Wrong. To be with your home but.. That’s the same as well.”

”You can leave now.”

And Grim then, woke up.

Grim lifts head off the couch. The sunset light glares through the windows.

’What was that dream about?’

‘I wish that Yuu would never have to go..’

Yuu opens the entrance to Ramshackle, and they sees Grim.

They took a deep breath, before they sat down next to Grim.

Then, they hugged Grim tightly.

”Grim, I’m sorry for yelling at you..”

”.. It’s okay.”

Yuu just kept hugging Grim for a while, then they walked up stairs, still holding onto Grim. Although, Grim was already asleep in Yuu’s arms.

They placed Grim down on the bed. Before going to go change themselves in their sleep wear.

As they laid their head on the bed, they were.. just waiting, staring at the ceiling.

Knowing full well that they will probably get a another dream about… That.

Eventually, they fell asleep.

————

They woke up again, they got up from the ground.

They’re in the ceremonial robes like last time.

Like in the previous dream, there were corpses of the previous dorms.

Next up was.. Scarabia.

A aqua blueish flame was blasted past Yuu as they looked where it was going towards.

Jamil was on the ground, blood dripping from his head, and mouth.

His eyes… looked lifeless as dried tears cover his face.

Kalim on the other hand, was desperately trying to protect Jamil from the beast’s attack, while tears streaming down his face.

Speaking of the beast… It’s seen to have dragon wings.

As Yuu look over back at Kalim, they saw the figure behind Kalim right before they stabbed him.

The figure, this time, looks like they had a leave or flower crown on their head.

They looked at Kalim’s and Jamil’s corpses before looking at back at Yuu.

Just like in the previous dream.

Then, they walked towards Yuu.

And, the dream ended with a voice.

”When will you choose a home?”

Yuu woken up, sitting straight up, panicking and confused.

’What…? What could it mean by, ‘When will you choose a home’?’ 

Yuu then look over at Grim, who is still sleeping peacefully despite Yuu’s sudden movement once they woke up.

Yuu lay down again, turning their body towards Grim, and move their arms to Grim to hug him.

‘Something is going to happen and I don’t know what to do about it.”

As Yuu hugged Grim, light suddenly illuminated through out the room.

Yuu turned around, letting Grim go as they turned and saw that the mirror was glowing..

’Wait.. Mickey!’ 

Yuu got up from the bed, though they made sure to not and wake up Grim.

As they walked towards the mirror, they saw a different figure that.. wasn’t Mickey.

Instead, they saw the figure that is… in the dreams. Their face is covered with a veil, their face seem to be represented through a classic comedy masks being the color white,

Yuu stopped in their place, staring at the figure in the mirror.

Then, the figure titled their head, before extending their arms towards Yuu, seemly getting out of the mirror, which shocked them.

They got out of the mirror halfway, before appearing behind Yuu themselves.

Asking questions that Yuu would never answer.

“When will you find a home?”

”Why won’t you let them help you?”

”Why must you be so afraid?”

”Why do you still hold on to that dead last name?”

”Why must you cling to nothing?”

All questions that Yuu didn’t want to answer.

They looked away from the figure, hoping it would go away.

”Please.. leave me alone.”

’Why couldn’t I see Mickey? I could be having another chance of going home.’

“… Remember, you have to choose a home and something will happen to him.”

Then, they disappeared.

Yuu stood there for a while, looking down at the ground, small tears falling down their face.

’Why? Why am I like this?’

They went back to their bed, however, they were struggling to fall back to sleep. 

They looked back at Grim once more, seeing him smile as he dreamed.

“Mya… I’m bored…”

”Grim, I get that studying isn’t fun, but we need to pass the finals. Besides, it would suck if the ‘most powerful’ mage ends up failing and repeating his first year.”

”But you-“ 

“‘But you’ what?”

Grim stopped for a moment before saying,

”Never mind! I’m going out now-! I smell something AMAZING-!”

”What?! But-“

And Grim already ran off.

They sighed before they got up and ran after Grim.

“Goodness… Where is he???”

“Oh, hi Yuu!”

Yuu turned around to see Kalim and Jamil.

”Oh, hi Jamil and Kalim.”

”Hello Yuu.” 

“Yuu, you seem stressed, are you okay?”

”I’m fine, just looking for Grim.”

”Oh, what did he do?”

”He said he smelled something amazing and ran off. I don’t know what he smelled but still.”

”Do you need help finding him?” 

“Yes, actually. It might take a bit before I find him.”

”Okay, let’s go!” 

Kalim took Yuu’s wrist and started running with them, calling out for Grim, with Jamil running after them.

After searching for while, they managed to find Grim in the Diasomnia Dorm.

“Grim! There you are! Where were you?” 

Yuu walked over to Grim, picking him up. 

“Myha! Dang it! Right as I almost found it!” 

“Grim, don’t go running off again.”

“Let me go, Henchmen!”

”I think you need to hold on to him longer, Yuu.” Jamil replied. 

“Yeah.. Yeah.. I know. Thank you guys for helping me!”

”You’re welcome!”  

Yuu started to walking away.

Right there, they stopped.

Blood is everywhere.

Jamil is in Kailm’s arms as he cries, unaware of the person approaching him.

”Look at what you done, Yuu.”

”Yuu?”

”Hm?”

”Oh. You were still for a moment, are you okay?”

”Don’t worry, I’m fine! I.. Just zone out without realizing it.”

”… Whatever you said.”

Yuu ran off, still holding onto Grim, who looks lost.

”Do you think we should talk to them later?” Kailm asked towards Jamil.

”Yeah.. They seem to be shaken but I doubt they would even open up. Maybe we should wait it out.”

”Okay then…”

It was late in the afternoon, both Yuu and Grim were studying.

Man.. If only he got to that amazing smell, maybe he would be more motivated but he got taken away by Yuu before he could even get to it!

Grim looked to see what was Yuu doing, considering that they would have made some small take by now… To see that they had fallen asleep while reading.

‘And they insisted that we must study.. They can’t even study without sleeping themselves!’ Grim thought.

Grim got up, feeling a bit hungry, so he went off to the kitchen.

He peeked in the bottom cabinet, trying to find some tuna.

“Hmmm, where is the tuna.. Hm?”

He heard small footsteps.

Did Yuu wake up? But if so, they would have called his name…

”Who’s there?”

Silence.

”… Maybe I’m hearing things.”

Grim looked back at the cabinet, trying to shake off the unnerving feeling that he is being watched.

“Grim.”

Grim stood still. He.. had heard that voice before.

He looked behind him, this time, he could see the figure from his dream after his small fight he had with Yuu.

The figure looks like a silhouette of Yuu, with white dots as their eyes and their legs being faded out.

“Do you remember our conversation?”

”… Who are you..”

”No one important to you at least. Now, answer my question.”

“..Yes. Why is that important to you!”

”.. Can we make a deal?”

”What- No! I’m not going through what happened during the mid terms!”

”Trust me. This deal will help you-“

”Nope! Not listening!”

Grim turned his head around, planning to ignore the strange figure…

But that strange figure had a different idea in mind.

”I will help you keep your home here.”

That stopped him in his tracks.

’Stop.. Yuu from getting home?’ He thought. He turned his attention back toward the figure.

“But Yuu is already going home by the headmage!” He argued.

”How sure are you?”

”What do you mean-“

”Did you ask? Did they said anything about it?”

”Ah- Well. The letter said that they couldn’t tell me!”

”.. You are a foolish, truly.”

”Hey! Me, Grim, is not-“

”Now, can we make a deal?”

”No!”

“I can-“

”Leave me alone! I’m not making a deal with you!”

”You can become a most powerful mage, with your home beside you.”

”… No! Not falling for it! You’re lying.”

”.. You will make a deal with me one way or another. And when you will, I will be waiting.”

The figure then disappears.

Grim stood there, staring at where they originally stand.

”I won’t make a deal…”

Rereading the same page isn’t exactly a great way to study, especially when they’re slowly falling asleep, but they pay no attention to it and, to no surprise, they felt asleep.

Yeah, they should have just stopped studying early… Oh well.

Yuu wakes up. 

Strangely, this time, they’re running woke in white and black place.

It.. looks exactly like the place where the previous overblotter would monologue about their issues and trauma..

But.. There hasn’t been any overblot recently and they had already seen Hornton‘s flashbacks.. 

So, why are they here?

They got up, and simply walk around the area.

As they walked, they saw small flashbacks about the previous overblots, with.. Their own memories mix around.

Riddle asking for his mother for forgiveness.

Leona overhearing the servants talking about him negatively.

Azul crying as he gets bullied by the other children.

Jamil being told about the bribe that Crowley took.

Vil asking his father if he looks like a bully.

Idia blaming himself for Ortho’s death.

Malleus accidentally hurting Lilia’s eardrum when he laughed.

And.. with themselves, crying quietly about their situation, being placed in a another world, away from their ‘family’.

’Just keep walking. This.. dream or nightmare will be over soon, surely.’ They thought.

Then they stopped.

In front of them, shown their ‘siblings’, crying hysterically.

However, their faces were blurred, right before disappearing.

“You don’t even remember your ‘family’? How sad.”

”…”

”You tell yourself that you’re going home, however it’s been 4 months since you talked to him.”

”…”

”Then again.. Why do you even bother? Crowley stated that you died.”

”…”

”You’re probably already in your grave or in a ditch dead.”

”Shut up..”

”Aww, you’re fighting back~? How pathetic.”

”I will get back to my home world.. No matter what. You understand!”

”.. Pff- Hahaha! Now, you’re lying to yourself! You know deep down that you can’t get home!”

“.. Why am I here?”

”… Because you can’t stop the inevitable, Yuu. Not even for him. No matter how much you tell yourself that nothing will go wrong.”

The dream slowly fades to black. As.. Ink rolls down Yuu’s face.

Yuu woke up.

They had moved their arms around themselves, to hug themselves.

’Where is.. Grim?’

They got up, and left their room, trying to look for Grim.

”Grim! Grim!”

”Henchmen, I’m right here!” Grim shouted back from down stairs.

Yuu let out a sigh, a bit relieved.

”Good. I didn’t want you to go running off somewhere and causing trouble.” Yuu said as they descended the stairs.

“What- I wouldn’t cause that much trouble!”

”Uh huh, sureeee.” Yuu said with a grin.

As Grim argued back with Yuu, who is teasing him, in the back of their mind.. They can’t forget about the dream they had.

‘.. Please don’t do anything you will regret, Grim… The same goes for me.’

After Yuu puts the study materials away, they got ready for bed.

Grim was already sleeping, although he looked.. distressed? 

‘Maybe.. he’s having a bad dream.’ Yuu thought as they tucked themselves into their bed.

Yuu wakes up again. 

They’re in the ceremonial robes, and, as per usual at this point..

The corpses of the other dorms, and.. This time, it’s Pomefiore who are fighting.

Epel, is on the ground, unconscious with some horrific burns on his side of his body, with Vil trying to assist him as Rook tries to heal Epel.

“Roi du Poison, you seem to be injured yourself..”

”Rook, I’ll be fine.. Just focus on Epel first.”

”… Alright.”

As they two talked, a random student had fallen down thanks to the figure, who has a cape that.. Looks very similar to Hornton’s cape when he overblotted.

Meanwhile, with the beast, had a darkish blue under it’s head.

Then, the beast looks straight at Vil and Rook before moving towards them.

”Roi du Poison! ◻️◻️◻️ is coming!”

‘Huh? The name got..’

Blue fire came through towards Vil, however Rook moved him out of the way, taking the hit instead.

”Rook!” Vil yelled as he got up, checking on Rook.

Rook has a horrible burns marks around his left arm, leg, chest and near his face.

”Oh dear..”

Vil was about to use healing magic on Rook until the figure ran and stabbed Vil from his behind.

“Aghh-!”

Vil fell on the ground as well, still in shock from the stab.

The figure blankly stares at their bodies before looking back at Yuu.

“This wouldn’t have happened IF you weren’t here.”

Yuu got up, looking panicked.

They moved their legs close to their chest.

‘How many more dreams? I don’t understand. Why?’

There was a white light illuming through the room, and Yuu could see a mouse like silhouette.

’Mickey.’

Yuu moved out of their bed, cautiously making sure they didn’t touch Grim.

”Mickey.”

“Oh, Yuu! It’s been a while we talked. How are you?”

”.. I’m worried..”

”Why is that?”

”I have been.. Getting dreams lately.”

”.. Do you wish to talk about it?”

”.. I don’t know.”

”Well, sharing your feelings with friends is good.”

”I know..”

”However, you’re still not comfortable.. You can tell me or your friends, okay?”

”Can I tell you one thing?”

”Yes, Yuu.”

”I was told apparently that I died in my original world…”

There was a long silence before Mickey broke it.

”That’s.. Terrible.”

“Yeah.. But I.. Don’t want to believe it’s true.. And I still believe that you can help me go home.”

”I see. I’m not sure how exactly but.. It might be hard. What if you’re already in your coffin or your family believes that you are?”

”… I should sleep.”

”.. Okay, Yuu. Just you know, I still wish to help you. See you soon, Yuu.”

“See you soon, Mickey.”

Yuu turned around and fell asleep as they tried to ignore the suggestions that Mickey said.

”Accept the truth, Yuu.”

Yuu was walking towards Sam’s shop, holding Grim like a plushie, when Vil approached them.

“Hello, Yuu.”

”Hi, Vil.”

”Heya, Vil!”

”Yuu, Grim. Could the two of you assist me with some tasks?”

”Sure!”

”But henchmen! We’re going to buy-“

”Grim, that can wait.”

Grim glare at Yuu, annoyed that he couldn’t get any tuna, when Vil speak again.

”I need you two to be background characters for this one scene, in this short film that Film Research Club is working on.”

”Okay.. Where is this taking place?”

”I’ll take you there.”

Vil then took Yuu’s wrist, taking them to the…

Pomefiore dorm.

After they had entered into the lounge, Yuu greeted Ortho who was helping with the lighting, Yuu asked a question.

”What are me and Grim doing in this scene exactly?”

”You two would be simply reading this book while our main actors talk.”

Vil then handed them a book, which was a simple fashion book, which was apparently owned by a student named ‘Vix Monarch’.

“And before you ask, yes, Vix doesn’t mind me borrowing his book for this scene.”

“.. Alright then.”

Vil started directing the two main actors as Yuu and Grim looked at the book contents, which they seemly browsed through it.

”Man.. This is REALLY boring..” Grim whispered back at Yuu.

”Listen, we won’t be here for long, so it’s fine.” Yuu whispered back.

Grim sighed before looking back at the book.

Yuu distantly listened to the conversation that the actors were having, since they weren’t interested at all.

Their mind was.. Wandering as they thought.

They fell their eyes close right before Vil yelled,

”Cut!”

Yuu flinched up as Grim looked up.

”Alright. Everyone, this scene is good. Nothing extraordinary or anything…”

“All great, are we going to repeat this??” Grim whispered.

“We will redo this scene.”

Yuu sighed as they saw Grim glaring at Vil.

”It’s fine, Grim. It’s not like we’re doing anything speaking lines-“

”Yuu, Grim.”

Yuu and Grim turns their head at Vil.

“Could you two make small talk in the background as our main actors talk? It will make this short film more believable if you two talked instead of sitting there, looking at a book which you have no interest in.”

”Uh- Sure.”

”Myahhhh… How much longer will we be here…”

”Grim, just be patient.” Yuu scolded lightly.

Vil turned his attention towards the others as he critique their performance.

After Vil was satisfied with the scene, Yuu gave the book back to Vix, who thanked Yuu before focusing his attention on the clothing.

Yuu and Grim planned to leave when they met up with Rook and Epel.

”Ah, why isn’t it, Tricker and Monsieur Fuzzball!”

”Hello, Yuu. Grim.”

”Hi, you two. We were about to leave.”

“Hm, okay. I would have liked it if you stayed for a bit…”

“Well, I could-“

”No, minion! I thought we would go to Sam’s!”

”Going to Sam’s shop can wait. Besides, it’s fine..”

“Really? We were here for almost a hour! Come on, let’s go!”

Grim tug at Yuu’s leg, which they simply watched as he failed.

“Grim, we can stay a bit longer. Sam’s doesn’t close until…” 

‘When does Sam’s close again?’

As they thought, they suddenly felt lightheaded…

Epel, on the ground, blood dripping from his mouth, burns all over his body.

Rook attempting to help despite his burns, tears flowing down.

Vil fallen to the ground, a look of betrayal and sadness in his face as he stares at Yuu.

“Let your sorrows out.”

”Yuu, are you okay?” Rook placed a hand on their shoulder.

”Yeah.. Just.. Tried.”

”Hmm..”

Rook had a doubtful look in his eyes, however he didn’t push it.

”If you say so.”

Yuu smiled at Rook right before they took Grim by his collar and walked off. 

“Yuu… Are you lying?”

”No, Grim. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” They lied.

As Yuu was walking towards Sam’s shop, with Grim sleeping surprisingly under their arm, they ended up meeting Kalim.

”Oh, hello Kalim.”

”Hi, Yuu! You’re going to Sam’s, right?”

Yuu nodded.

”I’m going to Sam’s as well. Do you want to talk along the way?”

”Sure.”

Kalim talked and talked as Yuu listened.

Yuu nodded along as Kalim talked. It was nice. To simply listen to someone talk… 

It was just like home…

“Yuu?”

”Hm?”

”We”re here!”

”Oh! Sorry, I kinda zoned out.”

The two walked into Sam’s shop, Kalim still talking, however he had.. Complex look on his face when he looked at Yuu. Like he was hesitant to say something else…

It’s was nearly the afternoon when Yuu got back. With Grim, still under their arm.

He had a… Worried expression on his face, and Yuu would have awakened him up if they didn’t notice Sebek and Sliver training outside of Ramshackle.

They quickly put Grim in the lounge, on a couch, his head on a pillow and renter out where Sebek and Sliver were.

”I didn’t think you two would train here. I thought the courtyard would be open.”

“It is, however me and Sliver want to test our swordsmanship here, due to a different like environment.”

“Hm, okay. Could I watch?”

”Sure.”

Yuu sat on the porch stairs, watching Sebek and Sliver fight.

Eventually, when Sliver and Sebek sat down for a break, Sliver looked at Yuu, then he asked Yuu.

“Would you like to train with us?”

”Huh-?” 

Both Yuu and Sebek looked at Sliver with confusion and surprise.

”Is that a yes or no?”

”I- Where is this question coming from?”

“Well, you look like you have the capacity to hold and strength to fight with a sword.”

”But, it would take years for me to properly fight with the sword.”

”Well, we could just teach you the basics of sword fighting.”

”WE-? Sliver! I don’t think Yuu agreed to this nor did I! I wouldn’t be against teaching them but-“

”It wouldn’t hurt to at least try, right Yuu?”

”..No. I guess I will try.” Yuu said, a bit hesitantly though.

The three got up, and Sliver handed Yuu his sword.

Sliver then started directing Yuu, and told Sebek to go easy on Yuu.

It’s now nearly night time, and Yuu was on the ground.

“Yuu, are you okay?”

”Kinda.. Just tried.”

”Maybe we should call it off for today.. Yuu, would you like to do this again sometime?”

”Sure, actually. Maybe tomorrow.”

”Really? Wouldn’t your muscles be sore?”

”Eh, it would be fine.”

“Hm. If you say so.”

Sliver and Sebek then walked off, waving goodbye to Yuu.

Yuu walked back inside Ramshackle, looking for Grim who isn’t in the couch where they previously had put him…

”Grim?” 

Yuu stared looking around, until they found Grim, in the kitchen.

”Grim! What are you doing?”

”Hm? I’m looking for the tuna you brought.”

”Oh, I think I placed that somewhere in the lounge.”

”Why didn’t you placed it in the kitchen!?”

”Sliver and Sebek were here and I wanted to talk to them!”

”.. Whatever. Give the tuna.”

”Alright.”

“Mya… Yuu, you will stay home… Promise me.. Huh?”

Grim lifted his head up, to see he was on the couch in Ramshackle’s lounge.

‘Huh? Where is Yuu?’ 

He remembered… Vil demanded that he and Yuu be background characters for a certain scene… And they went to Sam’s- Oh, he probably fell asleep when Yuu was going to Sam’s.

Yuu probably placed him on the couch… Wait, where’s the tuna that Yuu brought?

Grim got up, walking to the kitchen and as he was walking..

He saw Yuu outside, a sword in their hand, as Sliver looks like he talks instructions to Yuu.

‘Huh? When was Yuu interested in sword fighting?’ Grim thought.

Grim was stood there for a bit, simply watching.

He was about to go when..

His stomach started growling.

”Right! My tuna! I need to go the kitchen!”

Grim walked over to the kitchen, starting looking through the cabinets when…

“Hello, again.”

Grim jumped back, looking at the figure.

”You again!?”

”Of course. Did you really believe I would disappear forever?”

”Just leave me alone!”

”You’re really bratty, aren’t you? I’m sure that Yuu would get tried of you eventually.”

”.. What are you talking about..?”

”Aren’t you worried about why Yuu is training?”

Grim shook his head.

”My, maybe they plan to kill you with their newly swordsmanship.”

“No! They would never hurt me-!”

”But you hurt them.”

“… But-“

”Maybe they wanted to get even?”

”Hmmm- You’re lying! They would never try to hurt me!”

The figure simply stared at him, before saying,

”Fine. You caught me. But you can never know.”

”Can you leave me alone!?”

”.. Listen, I only want to help you. Remember, Yuu is going to leave you.”

”I’ll be fine by myself!”

The figure started to laugh.

“PTF- OH PLEASE! Do you really believe that?”

”…”

”You know what? I’ll leave you alone for now. I’ll be back.”

The figure then disappears.

“…”

”Grim! What are you doing?” Yuu called out.

”Hm? I’m looking for the tuna you brought.”

”Oh, I think I placed that somewhere in the lounge.”

”Why didn’t you placed it in the kitchen!?”

”Sliver and Sebek were here and I wanted to talk to them!”

”.. Whatever. Give the tuna.”

”Alright.”

Yuu picked up Grim and started walking towards the lounge.

It’s night time. And…

Grim can’t sleep.

Yuu seems to be sleeping peacefully… Not really, but at least they can sleep.

Grim get off the bed and start walking to the kitchen.

“Maybe a snack will help me-“

”Hello.”

Grim turned around, with a mixed expression of fear and anger.

”Why can’t you leave me alone-!”

”I just want to help you. Why can’t you let me help you?”

”I tried to get help as time and I got turned into a slave! I’m not going to make anymore shady deals again!” Grim whispered shouted.

”Oh please. I’m nothing like Azul. Unlike him, I genuinely ‘want’ to help you.”

”I’m still not making a deal with you!”

”Come on… I promise that I’ll help you achieve your dreams no? Besides, I can help you get a delicious snack for you.”

”Nope! Not listening!”

”But I can show that amazing smell you sniffed a few days ago.”

Grim’s ears perked up.

”I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Fine, I guess-“

”Never mind! Show me it!”

The figure then picked Grim up before taking him to Diasomnia.

And they’re on the bridge of Diasomnia.

The figure placed Grim down, before placing its hand out for the blot crystal to appear.

Grim’s senses then went black as he leaped for the crystal.

Surprisingly, Yuu didn’t exactly get any dreams about.. The beast and the NRC students dying.

If anything… They really didn’t get a dream at all.

They couldn’t even remember what their dream about anyways…

Maybe, they didn’t need to worry about the next-

*CRASH*

Yuu sat up immediately upon the sound. 

It sounds like glass breaking and it sounded very close.

“Grim! Where-“

And they saw it.

The mirror, in their room, broke, by… Grim’s fire. And he was standing in front the mirror, despite the glass around him.

“… Grim?”

“…”

Yuu’s breath quickened.

Grim’s ears twitched.

Yuu slowly moved from the bed.

Grim turned around, facing Yuu. His eyes have a white star in the middle of his iris.

‘Grim isn’t himself.’

“Don’t.. Leave.”

Yuu moved a foot back to the door.

Grim move forward.

”Don’t… LEAVE!!”

He ran towards Yuu who ran towards the door.

As they ran, they could hear the fire behind them, from Grim.

As they ran, their ears drowned out the pleads Grim yelled.

”DON’T LEAVE.”

”PLEASE YUU. DON’T LEAVE ME.”

”DON’T LEAVE ME, YUU.”

”YUU. YUU. YUU!”

Grim’s claw eventually caught onto Yuu’s ankle.

Yuu screamed as they stopped running, trying to get Grim off.

Blood ran down their ankle, just like the tears streaming down Grim’s face.

They tried to yank Grim off their ankle, however they only worsen the wound on their ankle.

”Child of Man!”

Then, Grim was swiftly pulled from Yuu, before a blast of a spell hit Grim, causing him to fall asleep.

Yuu looked up, before saying,

”Hornton?”

”Calm your breaths. I will heal your wounds.” He said as he placed Grim down.

Yuu nodded as they slowly breath in and out, as Malleus uses healing magic.

After Malleus used his spell, Malleus was about to ask Yuu what happened when he noticed Yuu nodding off, their eyes trailing off to Grim.

There was a long silence before Malleus asked,

”Yuu, do you wish to rest in Diasomnia?”

“.. What about Grim?”

”… I personally do not know, but perhaps he should… Never mind, place him on your bed.”

“.. Alright.”

Yuu got up before stumbling back down, if it weren’t for Malleus catching Yuu.

”I will send Grim to your bedroom, and I will take you over to Diasomnia myself.”

“Okay, then..”

Malleus used his magic to teleport Grim before picking up Yuu, in a bridal way, and walking towards Diasomnia.

As he walked there, Yuu’s mind wandered off to what had happened earlier this night.

’Why? Why did Grim break the mirror? How did he get into that… state? Did he- No. S.T.Y.X. took the stone away. But then… How?’

As Malleus enters Diasomnia mirror, Yuu felt their eye lids closing as questions swirled through their mind.

Yuu woke up again, in the Mirror Chamber.

As per usual at this point, there were rubble, debris and bodies everywhere. Along with the premises of Grim the beast and the figure. However… This time.. Blood was on their hands and clothes as well..

Then, they saw Ortho and Idia, both were hiding behind a piece of rubble, as Idia was coughing up blood and Ortho checking his vitals.

”Idia! Your blood pressure and heart rate is rapidly rising! I should find someone who-“

”*cough* Ortho-!”

”What’s-“

Before Ortho could have a chance to react, a large piece of rubble fell onto him. Crushing him entirely.

“…”

Idia could only stare in shock, staring where Ortho originally stood.

Then the figure came behind Idia, roses pinned around their waist.

Idia didn’t moved nor did he had the time to fight when the figure and the beast attacked him.

Blue fire and weird shaped sword(that looks similar to S.T.Y.X. ancient weapons.) stabbed into him.

The figure looked over towards Yuu. Staring at them.

“Who is your family? Who is your home?”

Yuu woke up, breathing heavily, sweat falling down their face.

”Child of Man? You’re awake?”

Yuu whipped their head to see Malleus sitting by their side.

They seemed to be in the infirmary room.

”Hornton…”

“Yes?”

”Where’s Grim?”

”.. He isn’t here.”

What.

”What do you mean?”

”From what Shroud told me, Grim is currently getting tracked down by Littler Shroud.”

”.. I see.”

The two sat in silence for a bit before Malleus spoke up again,

”Yuu.. Do you know what provoked Grim to hurt you?”

They shook their head.

”Hmm… Did he have anything that looked alarming?”

His eyes. It’s was just like that beast in their dreams.

”…”

Malleus looked disappointed, but he walked out the room.

”Well.. For the bad news, Grim went missing and the housewardens are struggling finding him..”

“Is there good news..?”

“No, I’m truly sorry though, Yuu!”

Yuu laid down as Crowley went away.

I’m going to be honest, there’s a possibility that I just discontinued this fic or at least, maybe take a break from it? Idk yet.

I feel like making this fic made me realize that I don’t like writing long term fics. If I continue this fic, I might just write chapters out before I release it or actually have a actual outline for a story and stuff.

If I don’t, there’s a possibility I’ll explore my Yuusona in a different fic that’s not something like this. For example, I could write a oneshot about them and their struggles in Twisted Wonderland.

Other than that, my motivation for this fic is kinda gone. As much I appreciate the support from all you guys, I don’t feel motivated to write for this for when I did when I first started out.

Maybe it’s because of school starting up for me in a few weeks or something else but yeah. This chapter was supposed to be about Ignihyde but then I feel like I should have said this before I write anymore chapters.

For now, I’ll probably leave this fic alone and try to focus on my others series I have.

Also, don’t worry about me losing interest in TWST, I’m still heavily invested in TWST. (Especially with the new content coming on JP-)
