Summary:

This is a Wenclair. Imagine the most chaotic Wenclair fic you've seen, that's what I'm going to try - and probably fail - to do. As for a proper summary, we'll I'm going to bait you and say that you'll have to read to fand out. This was inspired by a fic on AO3 called Turned. I have since lost the fic and don't know who wrote it, so if you find it please do let me know who wrote it, it only has one chapter.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

No One's POV

After the event of The Hug™, an extended break was given to all staff and students of Nevermore Academy given the fact that the Headmaster Larissa Weems was deceased.

As Vanessa (a friendly Gorgon who was Deputy Mother of Ophelia Hall) announced the break and the reasons why, Wednesday simply smirked, much to the horror of poor Enid who was stood next to Wednesday, tears running down her fresh scars. A whisper of a sting ran through her as the salty tears mixed with the still healing wounds. Wednesday simply turned her head slightly, a motion to look to the left of Vanessa, where a very tired and still sick looking Weems wandered out in front of the students. A shocked silence halting the hushed tears of the still-alive students and faculty.

"As you have all noticed, I am not yet dead." She said simply before continuing, "Wednesday, before being knocked out by Laurel Gates, or as we all knew her best Marilyn Thornhill, administrated an anti-dote for Nightshade poisoning. As for why or how I have no idea." She pointed a look at Wednesday that left Wednesday nodding but nothing but confused looks from everyone else.

Wednesday knew that Weems knew that she had it because of her parents, and her discovery of how Garrett Gates truly died, and the nagging feeling that Nightshade was going to come back in a brutal matter. She'd had a vision of Weems' funeral, and after the fact was glad she'd had it on her.

"As such now that I am alive and recovering, we will still be adjourning until after Christmas, an extended break for a much needed rest and family time. You are all dismissed to go get packed and ready for your departure over the weekend. Take this next few days to recuperate a little before your families arrive. And please, for fear of being stabbed, do not crowd Wednesday. She will get stabby." A series of chuckles welcomed the end of Weems' speech, alongside a rather scathing glare from the mistress of darkness herself. Among those chuckling Enid breamed and pulled her glaring roommate back to the top of Ophelia Hall.

"C'mon Wends."

"Do not call me Wends. It's Wednesday or Addams to you." Wednesday scowled back. Enid rolled her eyes.

"C'mon then Addams." She laughed and kept pulling Wednesday upstairs. Wednesday held back an agitated sigh. The past few days had been a bit much on Wednesday psyche. She'd been knocked out with a shovel, hung from her arms and dangled, her hand split open, fatally stabbed, brought back to life, been choked out by a Hyde, shot by an arrow and tortured by a weird glow stick and even worse been hugged by Sinclair and she'd even hugged back. Disgusting. S̶h̶e̶ w̶a̶n̶t̶e̶d̶ t̶o̶ i̶t̶ a̶g̶a̶i̶n̶.

"So my parents have yet to call. I'm sure they'll call soon they're gonna be so happy to hear I've finally wolfed out oh my god its gonna be totally amazing now!" Enid beamed happily. Wednesday rolled her yes.

"Yes. They will be thrilled. Those rats did not deserve you anyway." Wednesday stated quietly.

"Oh em gee Willa are you finally mellowing out!?"

"I have and will not do such a thing. You will do well to remember that. Wolf or not I can still kill you in your sleep." Wednesday scowled. Notably not mentioning the new nickname Enid was trialling for her angry roommate.

"Well Willa, I'm going to remain hopeful. This year is going to be amazing! I'm going to find my mate, be accepted by my pack and I finally won't be a lone wolf! Not to mention we're only two years away from graduating Nevermore! And we can go to university and from there see where life leads!" Enid cheerily ranted off in quick fire which left Wednesday with a headache.

"Enid, please."

"Sorry I'm talking too loudly again." Enid frowned and apologised emphatically.

"It was just a rough night." Wednesday stated simply. "I need more rest, if you would like to watch something, do so with your wired ear things so that I can not hear it."

"Okie dokie Willa!" Wednesday rolled her eyes, turned away from Enid, and got into her bed, clothes still on and all. Enid looked really concerned at this and hesitantly crossed the line into Wednesday's territory. "Wednesday are you alright?" Enid asked quietly, kneeling at the edge of Wednesday's bed. She turned to face the blonde and outwardly sighed.

"What did I till you about last night? I do not remember the quiet events." Enid nodded absolutely, as if she knew why.

"Well, I figured out that Thornhill was Laurel, and Tyler was the Hyde, as thing told you. Once I knew I told Weems, who followed me, shifting into Tyler to confront Laurel. We got a confession out of Laurel, at which point Weems revealed herself. Once she did Laurel proceeded to stab Weems with Nightshade. I administrated an anti-dote while Laurel told me that she should not have been surprised at my subterfuge. Then she hot me quite hard on the back of the head with a shovel. Hence the concussion and lack of memory for non-adrenaline filled moments." Enid looked distraught knowing that this was just the start of Wednesday's story. She couldn't help her wandering hand that rested atop Wednesday's in a comforting manor. The other girl just simply ignored the contact, knowing Enid needed it more than she did, and just continued on,

"I awoke dangling from my wrists in Crackstone's crypt." Enid gently rolled up Wednesday's sleeve to see very irritated gashes and bruises around her wrist. She gasped softly and resisted the urge to kiss the marks. Without a word, Enid reached under Wednesday's bed and pulled out a first aid kit, that wasn't Wednesday's. The young goth just raised an eyebrow and received no response in return as Enid began to clean, disinfect and bandage the wounds, first on the wrist she was holding, then after holding our her hand and waiting a moment, pinning Wednesday with a glare that rivalled her own, Wednesday relinquished her other wrist for Enid's scrutiny. Wednesday continued on throughout this process.

"After which Tyler and Laurel continued to taunt me, telling me all about their plan and how they enacted it, with Laurel torturing Tyler and his Hyde side into submission and then subsequent murders to obtain body parts for the ritual to awaken Crackstone. It could only be performed on a Blood Moon and required Addams blood to complete, as it was my ancestor Goody Addams who imprisoned Crackstone in the first place." Wednesday paused for a moment, and handed her hand with the large cut in it to Enid for inspection, since she had finished bandaging her wrists. Enid promptly examined the cut and nodded along to the story.

"Laurel, before collecting my blood without consent, said the most insipid and idiotic thing I've ever heard, that her father had said, 'if you want to outsmart an outcast you gotta outthink em.' I have never heard anything so preposterous." Enid let out a little laugh at Wednesday obvious hatred for the comment, being as silly as it was. Outsmarting something means to literally out think it, that is the actual meaning of the phrase.

"Anyway. She then cut open my hand and pressed it against a seal which opened Crackstone's tomb, which scalded my hand. Afterwards, she tossed me aside and sent Tyler outside to go terrorise the school before Crackstone got there. He ran off and I teased him for it. Obviously." Wednesday breathed a little harder at the moment, Enid had been trailing her fingers across her wrist bandage in comfort and it seemed to get to Wednesday a little bit. Wednesday pretend that her stomach hurt to avoid Enid's suspicion. And just raised a hand to stop her questions.

"I'm getting there." Wednesday paused. She readied herself and pressed on, "After she awoke Crackstone they had quite a conversation, where he slapped Laurel - most satisfying - and called her wench. Then he turned to me. He called me Goody and accused me of witchcraft to stay alive. He stabbed me in the stomach and twisted the knife, aiming to kill me. And it worked, I collapsed against the wall of the crypt, and they departed. As part of my raven heritage I had been seeing Goody for a while, she was training me on how to control my visions with limited success with all that was going on. She appeared and said that I needed to stab Crackstone in his black heart to condemn him back to Hell permanently. To which I was most impressed with, about to greet death. I asked her if her spectral vision was impaired as I was dying to which she gave me her last bit of life, to resurrect me. She yanked the knife out and proceeded to save my life." Enid was silently crying, knowing that if it wasn't for Goody, Wednesday would be dead. Like actually physically dead. Gone forever dead. Wednesday paused for a moment and let Enid have a minute to gather herself before she continued.

Enid then gently hovered her spare hand over Wednesday's stomach where she presumed Wednesday was stabbed, silently asking permission to see. Wednesday nodded and lifted off her shirt, sitting up to finish this story and to let Enid clean and bandage her stomach, it had re-opened after the death of Crackstone, Goody's healing done enough to save her death but not enough to heal the wound fully.

After a few moments, Enid was finally ready for Wednesday to continue, staying uncharacteristically silent, she gestured for Wednesday to continue.

"So, after I was revived, I started running towards Nevermore, not wanting to find a school full of bodies, finding Eugene was enough. I wanted the satisfaction of killing the fools myself." Wednesday added, if only to keep her determination of hating everyone in play. Enid had a fond but wet smile on her face at that and shook her head, knowing Wednesday didn't entirely mean it. Emphasis on the entirely.

"As I was running through the woods, I met Tyler, and he called me cockroach for still being alive. I thanked him for compliment, trying to get a rise out of him I guess. Then he proceeded to turn into the Hyde and slam me against a tree and attempted to choke me. That is when you you came in. Throwing Tyler off of me and attacking him. You were wonderful in wolf form." Wednesday complimented and Enid blushed. "I ran back to the school, because Crackstone was there wreaking havoc among the outcasts. Bianca had thankfully evacuated most of the school with the other siren's trying to keep everyone calm. But some still lingered and in danger. I walked into the school, Crackstone raining fire among the school's quad. I rushed in to stop with a fencing blad without the tip and started to battle him. He had this strange magic stick I haven't seen before and will be researching when I get home. He used it to pin me against some wooden thing that was knocked over, I did not get a proper look at it. After a few moments of this, Crackstone laying out his entire plan all the while, staying true to the cliché." Wednesday rolled her eyes and Enid chuckled again, despite the sombre attitude the night has taken.

"Xavier came out and attempted to shoot him with an arrow, which he stopped and aimed to shoot back at Xavier. I moved to intercept it where it lodged in my shoulder. Knocking me to the ground. I told Xavier to leave before he made things worse and removed the arrow. As Bianca came rushing back to help me in the fight, she distracted him long enough for me to stab him in the hear with a piece of the broken fencing sword I was wielding. Bianca suffered a blow to her head for her efforts in helping me and then we walked out of the school after Crackstone finally perished once more." Wednesday was almost finished and help up a hand to stop Enid from interrupting this close to the end of her story. "Then we met you, where you came running up to me and hugged me. After this and we walked back to the dorm, I don't remember much else."

"There wasn't anything else. Except we didn't walk up here. I carried you up. You passed out in my arms and I brought you up here." Enid said softly. Still gently stroking the back of Wednesdays hand. Wednesday looked up at Enid, and tilted her head. "Let me sort out this wound while I tell you my side of after the fight. Most of the fight with Tyler is blurry, muddled. I just remember clashing of fangs and claws. And Tyler being shot by his dad and then promptly taken away." Enid paused and started using the last of her supplies in the box to fix Wednesday's arrow wound, having finished bandaging Wednesday's entire midsection.

"After that I remember Thing tapping my hand gently in comfort, bringing me my pink coat as I shifted back. I ran straight towards the school, remembering you saying that's where you were headed. I walked back as quickly as I could. It felt like I was walking forever. That's when you I saw the crowd outside and I thought you were gone. Thought you'd died fighting that Pilgrim arsehole." A brief paused where Enid smiled and looked up at Wednesday. "Should've known it would take more than undead pilgrim to curb your hatred for everybody by killing you." Wednesday gave Enid a small smirk at that.

"I had asked where you were, panicked, frightened and worried that you had died." Enid sounded more solemn. "Then I saw three shadows come out from the gates. I saw your braid and I was running. I didn't even have any thoughts but your name and that you were alive. I was so relived. Then you passed out in my arms. I could feel your heartbeat, steady but not as strong as usual. I just picked you up and took you upstairs. A nurse followed me and took your vitals and gave you an IV with water and blood and stuff. And then she left after the transfusion, and took her stuff so you wouldn't be freaked when you finally woke up. I spent that night just watching you sleep. Making sure you were okay. The I passed on out on the floor for a few hours. When I woke up I was still on the floor, you were still asleep but it was morning so I tried to wake you up. You did get up and well from there you know the rest." Enid finished. Wednesday nodded and smiled. Enid then climbed up on Wednesday's bed and laid with her for a while.
