Summary:

You are Gwi-Ma's creation, destined to become a weapon for the demon lord, a fact hidden from you as you are raised by Celine who views you as a means to an end. You were raised and trained in isolation, remaining obedient over the years as you hope to get strong enough to kill Gwi-Ma and earn her approval.

Nothing changes until Celine decides to allow you to get close to the girls as their producer, working behind the scenes to ease the workload they'll have as idols. It is here you form bonds that were never meant to be formed, yet you keep them at arms length, fearful of how you may lose them should the truth come to light.

With the appearance of a demon boy band you're forced to acknowledge secrets that may have been better off buried.

3rd Person POV
A female demon panted as she looked down at the bundle in her arms, “we made it…” she mutters in disbelief. She was disheveled and injured but alive, and that’s all she could ask for. “We made it,” she repeats, her tone filled with hope. She pulls down the cloth to reveal the face of an infant, inspecting it to make sure that they remained uninjured before letting out a sigh of relief.

For the next few minutes she worked on disguising herself and the child, luckily their forms were more human-like compared to the other demons, she just had to hide their patterns.

Before she can leave the area a new presence makes themself known, “so a demon did slip through the tear.” She makes no further conversation as she prepares to attack.

The demoness tries to explain herself, “wait- wait please I’m on your side. We’re not here to harm humans, Gwi-Ma is also our enemy-”

“All demons are the same,” the figure murmured before dashing forward, slashing at the demon who dodged just in time, using her body to shield the child.

“No, I swear- please just hear me out,” the demon pleads, “I know how to kill him!”

The attacker freezes, hesitantly lowering her weapon, “speak.”

Letting out a sigh of relief the demon shares her plans, “this child is his greatest creation- they were meant to be raised and trained to become his greatest weapon and serve his side once they become of age. I was assigned as their caretaker,” she explains, expression hardening as she continues, “Gwi-Ma is the reason I lost my own child, so I saw this one as a chance to take revenge. When I saw the tear I took my chance to flee with them,” she finishes.

“You’ve given your story but you have yet to explain how he can be killed,” the hunter responds.

“Don’t you get it? The child- his creation, I can raise them- their power if utilized right can kill him,” the hunter flinches as the demon seems to go manic at the idea, “he’ll finally get what’s coming for him and I can see my baby again…”

She suddenly looks back up at the hunter, “wait… you’re strong, you can train it better than I ever could-” she puts down the bundle and approaches her, “please- he has to die- he has to pay for everything he’s done- for everything he took from me! From us, you understand, don't you?” she pleads deliriously.

“I’ve heard enough,” is the only response she receives before her world goes dark.

The hunter brandishes her weapon as she gazes at what’s left, the bundle still on the floor with a baby sleeping soundly within it. “Now what to do with you…”

She inspects the child, “so you can be Gwi-Ma’s undoing…” Although her instincts told her to simply kill it just as she has for all other demons, it has given her hope for an end. She carefully picks them up and walks away into the night.

“Celine, what happened to my parents?” the 5 year old child asked, “and why can’t I talk to Rumi even though we have the same patterns?” they continue, hugging themself as though trying to hide what’s already hidden by their clothes.

Celine thinks back to the demon who brought you to the human world, “you’re mother died to bring you here, Gwi-Ma killed her for her betrayal,” she sighs, “and I’ve already told you, your patterns are different from Rumi’s, they make you dangerous so no one can know. And Rumi has to focus on becoming a hunter, I will not allow you to be a distraction. Do you understand?”

The child nods stiffly, grip tightening on themself, “I understand Celine…” though the child knew that the woman was hiding something from them they refrained from questioning her further.

“Good, now return to your exercises.”

The child obediently follows orders, going into the forest to train alone, hidden from prying eyes. If they were lucky Celine would stop by to provide them company for a short while, to see how strong they’re getting and telling them what to do next, however she never stayed long, focused on tending to Rumi.

Alone in the forest the child strips their outer clothing, gazing at their reflection in the pond. Their patterns have grown significantly over the past year since Celine started their training. While they originally were small vines around their wrists and ankles, they’ve extended up their arms and legs, new ones forming around their neck. Occasionally they would flare up, pulsing and flickering when they used their powers.

As they train their thoughts wander, I’ll get revenge for my mother and make Celine proud by killing Gwi-Ma, they declare to themself, determined to achieve their goal as they focus on getting stronger. Maybe then I won’t be alone anymore…

When they finish their exercises for the day they make sure to hide all their markings as they watch Rumi from a distance, in awe at the relationship she shares with Celine. Admittedly they were jealous, they didn’t have anyone that they could be that close and vulnerable with, though they never blamed Rumi. They recall the one time they tried to get closer with Celine, calling her “mom”, though she was quick to turn down the title and scold them for even making such a mistake.

They hide behind a nearby tree as they watch Celine insist Rumi cover up her patterns until the Honmoon turns gold, upon which the patterns will disappear. They can’t help but notice the way Celine looks at Rumi, a gaze much different than the disdain they are used to. Will mine disappear too? The child can’t help but wonder, lost in thought they don’t notice as Celine leaves.

“Hello?” Rumi’s voice breaks them out of their thoughts, their blood freezes as they realize Rumi is addressing them, “what are you doing over there?” she asks.

They slowly reveal themself, fidgeting with their hands and keeping their gaze down, “I- um, I just thought your patterns were beautiful-” they quickly cut themself off in embarrassment.

Rumi’s eyes widen, “you weren’t supposed to see them, Celine said no one should know- please don’t tell anyone-”

At this point both children were panicking, both in fear of Celine’s reaction should she find out about their meeting, “I won’t tell anyone I promise- just please don’t tell Celine you met me- we were never supposed to meet,” they mumble.

After they both calmed down they sat next to each other, not really talking about anything due to the innate shyness of children, though both enjoyed the silence, simply having a steady presence being enough to calm them. A silence that was soon broken, “can I see under your hood?” Rumi asks.

Thinking for a bit the child moves to remove their hood, however the voice of Celine interrupts them, “Rumi?”

At the sound of the voice the child dashes off in panic of Celine’s disappointment should she find out they broke one of her many rules. In their rush Rumi catches sight of their patterns under their sleeves, her eyes widened as she moves to chase after them and demand answers, Celine said only demons have them- but there can’t be any demons here… are they like me?

“Rumi who were you talking to?” Celine asks.

Rumi composes herself and responds casually, “just a bird that flew away.”
