“How’s dad?” Chris asked as Buck shut off his phone.
Buck put his phone down and looked back at the giant beef sub he had been balancing in one hand. No idea where he got his lunch idea from.
“Getting nosey, I see.” Buck paused, “Seriously but, what’s the plan here Buddy?” Buck asked as he took a giant bite. He looked over at the blonde who was sitting on the seat beside him and started talking again, neglecting that his mouth was full. “We have to tell him. I can’t really hide you at my loft.”
“We could try!!”
“Christopher.”
“You sounded like Dad then.” Chris replied.
Buck chuckled and dusted the remaining crumbs off his hand. They were boarding in a minute, and he wanted to make sure Chris knew what he was doing.
“I know you wanted to get away from your grandparents but are you ready.. I mean to see your Dad?” Buck fiddled with Christophers suitcase that was on the standing up in f between his legs and he looked back over at the boy.
“Yeah, yeah I think I am.”
Buck smiled at the boy and looked up at everyone around them who started to form a line at their flight gate. Just as Buck pushed off the chair Chris looked at him.
“Thank you by the way.” Chris said as he stood up too, grabbing the crutches that Buck was holding out for him, “For coming to get me.”
“Always” Buck replied.
Chris began to walk in front of him and Buck couldn’t ignore the buzzing in his pocket anymore. He pulled his phone out with one hand while pushing all of Christopher’s belongings, that had been shoved into two suitcases- in the other.
