Being the Chosen One Has Its Perks

Summary:

I got bored and decided to make a series of one-shots with Ash interacting with various legendaries to relieve my boredom and some stress. You guys get to suffer the consequences.

This is not associated at all with my other fic. If, on the off chance I decide to merge them, they will be treated as separate timelines entirely.

Chapter 1: Kanto: Pt 1

Chapter Text

“Ash, why do you have Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres with you?” Misty groaned. She knew Ash had caught some new Pokemon since he won the Master’s Eight Tournament, but three legendaries out of nowhere was pushing it. Especially since, according to Ash, he had been raising two legendary Pokemon in Alola. One was Solgaleo, and the other was Melmetal.

Nevermind, if the same thing happened again, Misty wouldn’t be surprised.

“Oh! Silver asked me to babysit them while he was away. These are the cousins of the ones from Shamouti.” Ash informed Misty.

“Silver? Wait, you mean the Lugia. Ash, isn’t he a baby?” Misty pointed out.

“Sort of? He’s going through a right of passage right now where he has to take care of a trio of legendary birds, but he said he was going to visit Keldeo for a bit.” Ash replied. Articuno dove down into Cerulean City’s pool, then emerged from it. She looked very unsatisfied. Misty wondered what the problem was, but then Articuno froze the water over.

“Is…is Articuno trying to say that she wants to skate?” Misty questioned Ash.

“I think so.” Ash nodded. Misty crossed her arms.

“Well take her to an ice rink! I have a gym battle in ten minutes!” Misty exclaimed.

“Alright. Moltres, can you unfreeze the pool?” Ash requested. Moltres shook her head and looked away. “Moltres…”

“I’m getting the broom.” Misty sighed.

“You had that coming.” Mewtwo pointed out. Moltres and Articuno both looked away in shame, and Zapdos snickered.

“Thanks for helping us get them out of the gym, Mewtwo.” Ash grinned.

“You’re welcome. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go before she finds me.” Mewtwo stated.

“Who?” Misty asked.

“He means me!” Mew teleported in front of Misty, and Misty hit Mew with a broom by accident.

“Whoops. Sorry.” Misty apologized.

“Bleh. Why did that broom have so many feathers on it? Oh well. Hiya Misty! Nice to see you again! Though, you don’t remember me, do you? I think Mewtwo wiped your memories…”

“Mew.” Ash crossed his arms.

“Sorry! Got carried away! I’m starving and I can’t think!” Mew explained.

“Then eat.” Mewtwo told Mew.

“I would but food trucks are getting kind of stale, and I don’t know if I can sneak into a restaurant.” Mew replied.

“You can pretend like you’re Ash’s Pokemon.” Misty suggested.

“That’s true. Mind if I tag along, Ash?” Mew wondered.

“Not at all!” Ash grinned.

“I’ll do what I can to keep you all from ending up in the news…” Mewtwo sighed.

“That’s how I feel whenever I’m with Ash.” Misty remarked.

“Hey!”

“What? It’s true.”

“How on Earth did I end up being the only responsible legendary in the entirety of Kanto?” Mewtwo mused to himself. Zapdos snorted. “Zapdos, I see you eating a bag of stolen chips from that trainer you scared. You hardly qualify as responsible.”

“Speaking of, I should probably try and schedule a rematch.” Misty mentioned.

“You think he’ll wanna come back?” Mew interrogated Misty.

“As soon as I assure him everything that happened was because of Ash, I’m sure he’ll come back.” Misty stated.

“I may as well stay to keep Mew under control. Though, I’ll be right back. I need to grab a couple of Sitrus Berries.” Mewtwo remarked.
