Work Text:

He opened both eyes at once. wrong. Everything was too bright. He blinked twice and closed them again.

A small whirlwind of exhaustion swirled in his stomach, a dull ache at the back of his mind.

He opened his eyes again, only to find a pair of mesmerizing eyes staring back at him. Huh? He blinked again, but this time didn't bother to close his eyes. He stared at the pair of eyes with his mouth agape.

"You're awake," said the eyes, which now connected to pink lips. He blinked twice, three times, and then just stared. Huh?

uh.

uh,

uh.

He understood everything suddenly, everything clicked. He smiled a wide smile with hazy eyes, the pain no longer felt.

I must be in heaven.

"I must be in heaven."

A pair of eyes looked at him with slightly arched eyebrows in mild confusion. "Hey," the soft voice said again, an angel's song, he thought to himself. "What are you talking about?"

Sky tried to move his hand and touch the angel leaning over him. He had to be an angel, right? No human being on earth looks like that. Not even as a joke.

Smooth, clean skin, soft locks of hair falling elegantly over his forehead, large brown eyes looking back at him, a voice so gentle it melted into his ears.

How cool, a fucking angel.

Anyway, the angel suddenly moved away, looking over his shoulder. Oh come on, Sky thought, he just wanted to pull the other man back to him.

"Doctor, he's awake."

The man turned back to him, which was good in itself, but worry was still etched on his face. Not good, such an amazing man shouldn't be worried. "How do you feel? Khun Sky? You woke up from anesthesia."

He furrowed his eyebrows; he didn't remember that happening, but it made sense, because it suddenly dawned on him that he didn't remember anything.

"What is khun sekay?" he managed to mumble.

~~~
"It's just a reaction to the anesthesia," the doctor explained. "His memory will return by tomorrow."
"That's a really bad reaction," said the angel, whose name was Nani, Sky remembered. He didn't seem to remember anything else, and that was perfectly fine with him. He didn't care where he was at all, as long as this cute, adorable person stayed by his side.
"You're staring, ‘Ky," Nani said with a smile.
"You're just too beautiful," he replied, reverence creeping into his voice.
Nani blushed. God, God, who knew angels could even blush? And he looked even more beautiful like that. If that was even possible.
Sky stared at him with a dumb, loving gaze. "What are you doing next?" Nani peeked at him, his forehead creased. "You mean, after your medical tests?"
"Yea," he nodded. "I'd like to ask you out for dinner or a movie, whatever you want."
The doctor chuckled from his spot, Nani blushed even more. Sky was just happy to have the other man's attention.
"The problem is..." Nani began, the red in his cheeks deepening, "I don't know... I'll have to ask my boyfriend."
"Your boyfriend?" Crushing disappointment hit him like a punch straight to the lungs, and he didn't even try to hide the sadness in his voice. "You're already taken?"
"Yes," Nani laughed, taking Sky's hands in his. "By some idiot with puppy eyes and the body of a professional boxer." Sky sighed in disappointment, "Does he treat you well?"
"The best he possibly can." Nani smiled broadly, pressing a small kiss on his knuckles.
Sky could die right there, at that very moment, and everything would be fine.
He mumbled something with a sulky expression, but all that was cut short when the angel simply invaded his space without warning and kissed him directly on the lips.
Huh?
Huh?
Sky's mind reeled, his eyes would have popped out of their sockets if he were a cartoon character or something. "What was THAT?!"
Nani smiled innocently. "I kissed my boyfriend."
That's it, Sky completely lost it. His mouth opened to say something but all he managed to do was point at himself, then at the other, then at himself again, and again at Nani.
"I- me?"
"You?"
"Oh my God-"
"Us!?"
Nani silenced him with another kiss and Sky literally melted. Because he was in heaven, and an angel was kissing him, and this angel was his boyfriend, and everything was so lovely and sweet like that, and he never wanted to move.
Unless Nani held his hand, like now, and led him to a cute little coffee shop at the end of the street where the clinic was located.
His full memory hadn't returned yet, but vital, necessary pieces of information occasionally popped into the back of his mind.
Like the fact that Nani really loves strawberry milkshakes and pink things, so Sky ordered it for him without another question. And if Nani was surprised- he only showed it with a small, shy smile of gratitude.
As they sat at one of the tables facing each other, their knees brushed.
Sky reached out to caress a lock of hair that fell elegantly over Nani's face.
"Khun Sky," Nani said, looking at him with amusement but not stopping him. "What are you doing?"
"It looked really soft and I wanted to know if you were even real," he said with a slight protest, pouting and all.
"Very real, I'm here with you, right?" the other replied. And Sky took those words and etched them on his heart.
When they arrived home, in their shared apartment (that fact made Sky's heart skip a beat), when they got into their shared bed (that fact made Sky's heart skip TWO beats), Nani sat beside him quietly.
"So... how much do you remember?"
Sky answered as if the reply had been on his tongue for years. "Only what's important. Which includes your name and the fact that you're an angel sent to me from heaven."
Nani chuckled fondly and tilted his head to the side, "Silly puppy, the doctor said you'd act drunk but I didn't think it would be this much."
Sky nodded eagerly, "I love you!" he declared with, he had to admit, a rather drunk vibe. "I love you too, babe," Nani said.
And then, he slowly climbed on top of him. Hands wrapped around Sky's neck as he let his long legs rest on either side of the other, sitting fully on him with their faces only a few centimeters apart.
"But I think you don't remember the most important thing, love."
And Sky could die right there a happy man because here, Nani was sitting on him and whispering in his ear with that teasing, delicious tone and looking into Sky's eyes as if he were everything.
"W- What is it?" he mumbled.
Nani leaned even closer, guiding Sky's hands to rest on his small waist. Oh my God.
“That you're mine…”
Sky swallowed, licking his suddenly dry lips, looking at the other with dilated pupils and flushed cheeks, his whole body trembling. "Then, please.. r- remind me." he finally whispered.
And Nani did exactly that.
