James and Sirius aren’t usually apart much these days. They live together, they work in the same building together, and they’ve always been a little attached at the hip.
James wants to make that attachment a little bit stronger with a proposal, but then Sirius went undercover. It’s not like James didn’t know that Sirius’ work with the aurors could be… well, not the regulus hours type job, but he’s never been tapped to go undercover and be incognito for a while.
Given that James’ job is with the department of magical games and sports, he does have a regular hours type job. So, that left him all by his lonesome for almost two weeks while Sirius went undercover.
In a lot of ways, he felt a bit lost when he didn’t have his other half, but James heard a rumor that the undercover operation had finished and so, James couldn’t wait to see him.
He leaves the break room and makes his way down to the floor the aurors are on. Skirting around the cubicles towards the debriefing room.
He sees Sirius inside through the glass and the second that James’ eyes are on him, Sirius seems to sense his eyes on him because he looks up.
They lock eyes and Sirius immediately gets up and rushes through the door.
James grins as he lets Sirius run to him, arms wide open. Sirius doesn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around James’ neck, kissing him passionately.
It’s the kiss he’d been waiting for all this time – he doesn’t even care about the wolf whistles.
It just proves they’re hot as hell and everyone else wants to be them.
Sirius’ boss coughs behind them.
“Oi, lovebirds! We’re not done in here, Black!”
They break apart and give each other grins.
“Have to debrief, James, but I’ll see you later?”
“You better come get me as soon as you’re done because I’ve got plans for you.”
Sirius smiles. “Don’t worry, James, I’m all yours as soon as I’m done here.”
James gives him a kiss. “Good, I expect nothing else.”
“Good.”
