Work Text:

Blood ran thick over shaking hands, his eyes widened in horror as they shifted from the gory corpse of his coworker to the crowd in front of him. All was silent for a few moments, then screams erupted.

He froze, hastily backing away from the body, scissors long discarded on the bloodstained tiles. Red painted his jaws where his hands had reached up to cover up his frightened mewling, to no avail.

BEEEEEEEP.
ENDING 12 : R E A L .

Exhaustion pulled at his limbs, an eerie peace running through his veins, only to suddenly be jerked to consciousness standing in a bleak elevator. The blonde jabbered away mindlessly, words static as the protagonist steadied his legs and calmed his racing heart.

“ – office related problem?” He finally finished, yelping in surprise as the main character’s hands tugged at the other's suit jacket, pulling him close and burying his face into his chest.

“...imsorryimsorryimsorryimsorryimsorryimsorryimsorry…” he rambled under his breath, blinking away tears.

That same, uneasy silence rested upon the room once more which only made his heart twist further. When he finally looked up, his coworker looked surprised, but unnaturally (for him) sympathetic before he noticed he was getting stared at. “Pfft… you good, newbie..?” The blonde plastered on that smile again, acting like he knew nothing. “Y’seem a little different. Do the lights flickering affect you that much?”

Pushing the other away, he hugged himself with his arms, the ache of the scissors in his pocket making him feel sick. “...sorry.” He mumbled out, not even bothering to explain. He knew that he knew, so what was the point? He'd never admit he cared. “Just remembered something.”

A part of the deuteragonist wanted to comfort him, but that was out of character. “Don't worry ‘bout it newbie. Get that thinking cap on, we'll be outta here in no time. I trust ‘ya intu.. Uh. Intuie.. Intuition..? Yeah. That thing, whatever it's called. You're smart.” Flattery wasn't a common thing to hear from him, so the other had better acknowledge it.

“..thanks...” He mumbled back, which was a good enough reply for him. “Just thought you'd be a little more.. emotional, is all.”
