Chapter 1: The Awakening
Chapter Text
Two siblings watched as yet again young mortals were forced to fight and die for uncaring deities, they had watched this world for millennia since their Family had begun to slumber after ruling over their domains for billions of years. Every day the damage done to nature and the world increased and with limited interference they could do nothing but watch as the world collapsed. They understood, of course, their family were in some cases even older than themselves and had stood since the beginning of creation, but in the relatively short six millennia since their family had gone dormant the world had faltered and broken entire Civilizations rose and fell, Pantheons once ruling vast territories forced into hiding by the worship of a false deity.
A third presence joined them in this extra dimensional viewing area, the two great beings, once known throughout the world by pantheons as the beginning and end of life, the lifebringer and the inevitable Doom,. Yveltal the destroyer and Xerneas the life giver turned to their youngest brother, only 15 millennia under his belt and Ash was still one of the wisest of their siblings his faithful partner Pikachu, The only son of Raikou sat on his shoulder as always Alert but not afraid. “Sister, Brother” Ash began his tone thick with grief “I Assume you felt it as well?” Xerneas sighed “Indeed Brother the Greek earth mother awakens and even more will die, too much death in so few years, Children forced to fight wars and we cannot act because Zygarde refused to stay Awake with us in our vigil.” Yveltal snorted beside her energy surging along his wings before he calmed himself “Without them we would only cause more destruction than we try to prevent” He laughed sadly “Interference was forbidden for a reason without our third trio member sister.”
Ash shifted, face considering “You have an idea Brother?” Xerneas asked, her tone both desperate and Cautious many of Ash’s plans had led to his untimely death when he was still not a true immortal, a particularly memorable event being when the idiot and Pikachu got between Kyogre and Groudon in one of their spats. Ash sighed “The only way I can see this ending without more loss for the young demigods is for us to awaken the others.” The simple statement froze his siblings. Life and Death wracked their minds attempting to come up with something anything that would disprove their brothers statement their family deserved to rest, them damn it, not have to interfere with the affairs of lesser beings after just six millennia of sleep but as the minutes wore on they too came to the same conclusion if they wished to avoid the young Godlings facing any more trauma, they would have to intervene and to do so without the other Legends would mean the death of everything on the Planet.
Xerneas sighed considering her brother’s conclusion it… was not wrong the only way through which they could actively interfere with the world in the condition it was in was to Awaken the other legends. It was a tempting prospect, they had considered it before especially during the first Gigantomachy but had decided against it as those incidents were solved by the gods rather easily but with them taking a backstep following the Trojan war and the new enemies here including The Pit and the Greek Earth Mother two threats that even most Lesser legendaries would steer clear of in single combat. She stomped her hoof in frustration, they should have forced Zygarde to stay active with them, or Ho-Oh’s kids it would have allowed them far more freedom for interference rather than the small amounts of energy they were able to grant the Demigods in Manhattan.
Yveltal spoke next “It is perhaps the only option we have that will allow for a relatively bloodless victory, however, Ash have you seen any sign of Perseus or Miss Chase? They dropped out of our sight sometime during the Rome incident and have not popped up since and with Miss Chase injured…”
Ash’s heart dropped at Yveltal’s words. The kid had what? There shouldn’t be anywhere in existence that his siblings could not see, anywhere that could restrict the vision of Life and Death was a serious matter and nowhere for mortals no matter how powerful the demigods may be. “No Yev I haven’t seen hide or hair of the kid since he landed on my Isle and his Girlfriend is with him? That’s not good he can’t focus all his energy on staying alive if he's also protecting her, you said she was injured during the Parthenos quest in last weeks meeting? She will not be able to help, which is especially bad if they are being hidden from your sight…”
Xerneas smashed her hoof into the floor and sighed “There is nothing we can do for them now, not with us knowing nothing of where they are it must be a primordial as we cannot see them and seeing as Gaea has not risen we can safely assume they have yet to passed to her for the sacrifice. We should move to the Hall Of Origin and begin the process to awaken Father. Their awakening should wake the others.”
The three Legendary Deities moved Gathering their power in a way that had not been felt in millenia to smash a hole in the reality of Xerneas and Yveltal’s Dimension to the higher Plane of the Creator of All, the crash of shattering reality rang across the dark halls of the home of the first deities, the gold inlaid floors formed of an unbreakable white substance failed to glitter as they had mere millennia before. Then the three siblings stepped into a plane of Reality that had been left untouched since their Creator had gone dormant instantly they felt something notice them, even dormant their Creator could focus on them and acknowledge their presence.
The Four entities who had entered three children of the creator and one descendant laughed in relief as they walked towards the flute resting on a pedestal in the centre of the hall they appeared in. Ash grasped it reverently and with a last glance at his siblings and Partner blew into the flute.
Reality shivered as the ethereal sound flowed throughout its planes from the highest peaks of Olympus to the deepest depths of the Pit. On Olympus the gods paused with both the sea god and the goddess of Agriculture flickering into older forms for a short second as Damate and Posedao acknowledged the awakening of the Legends even as they fell back into their shattered state, Mortals were left stunned for minutes as the sound rang throughout their cities and in the deep pits of Tartarus two demigods and a Titan paused in their movement across the landscape as the sound seemingly bounced across the plains of that breathing terrible place the sound allowing even the smallest glimmer of hope and purity in the terror of the Pit.
In the hall of origin a massive presence started to appear as a shining rift opened in front of the quartet, beside and above it three other rifts opened, one a dark tear in the air jagged edges shimmering unnaturally, another a swirling chain of blue energy shaped like Infinity and the other a Star that was simultaneously collapsing and igniting in the air before four entities stepped into the halls. The first was a serpentine then six legged beast that flickered between forms as its very presence distorted the air around it and reality shuddered with its every breath as Giratina turned to her siblings. The second was a bipedal beast that moved as if weight and mass were a suggestion and gravity a mere idea its form flickered to a centaurian form before stabilising again she too faced Them but Palkia’s movements seemed unnatural due to her control over space. The third floated on all fours its form shifted to a more crystalline one before similarly to its counterpart’s stabilising on the form it arrived in, time shifted in the room freezing as Dialga saw his younger siblings Expressions and decided this conversation would require a substantial allowance to occur. Finally the fourth entity burst into being one moment there was a lull, like the calm before the storm, the next an amalgamation appeared in front of them, each of the Seven Deities stood tall as the essence forced itself into a form its eyes locked onto its three children and its great grandchild then it spoke into their minds clam but also curious “Children,” Arceus said, Their voice washing over them seeming more real that they themselves were “why have you awoken us so soon, you seem troubled by something what could possibly be so serious that you need to summon every legendary back from dormancy.” Ash spoke first a grimace on his face despite his joy at seeing the being he called Father “You are correct Father we are troubled, in the past six millennia everything has fallen apart, at first it was subtle an extinction here, a lost civilization there nothing that would have been unnatural even with all of us watching over the world.” The four older deities nodded along even with all their power they could not interfere frivolously lest the world collapse due to their overwhelming presence
Ash continued “However, in the past four millennia, since a war in the human City known as Troy, the world has been in a smooth decline. Around 400 years ago the last Pokemon species died out except for the few eggs we managed to save alongside the Gods of the different Pantheons. In the last six years it has become untenable, however, there has been one major Inter-Pantheonal war, Between the Gods of Olympus and the resurgent Titans of Othyrys and a second is currently underway against the Gigantes and the Greek earth Primordial once again this would normally not be an issue events like this are expected to occur from time to time, but it is the sheer quantity of such events…
Dialga interrupted him “Each of these events seem to have been dealt with or are in the process of such, brother, this still does not explain why you have awakened us even the deaths of the pokemon species, while unexpected, is not unfixable.”
Xerneas snorted “Perhaps the creator of Time would like to exercise his abilities and be patient for Ash to explain instead of interrupting.” This drew bursts of laughter from their siblings with Giratina being the loudest before they settled allowing Ash to continue “Your not wrong Dialga, normally we would not have bothered with awakening you for these events the issue” Ash’s face shifted to show his rage “is that throughout the war with Kronos and the current War with the Gigantes and Gaea the Gods of Olympus have intervened extremely sparingly except for Poseidon of Atlantis, Artemis of the Moon and Demeter of Agriculture. Alone Perseus Jackson and the forces of Camp Half-Blood, which is a protected camp for Greek Demigods, held off the forces of the Titan king with young Perseus defeating Hyperion in single combat along with the Clazmonian Sow and multiple armies invading at once.
Ash’s rant was stopped by the arrival of dozens of other presences but four in particular stuck out their presence flaring as Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion and Keldeo stepped forward
their hooves beating on the floor and in an uncharacteristic move Keldeo snarled it would have looked ridiculous on the short mythical normally but the swirling water in his mane and a secret sword charged on his horn it was far more intimidating than it had any right to be. The four lesser legendaries spoke in one voice “Why have they have not been PUNISHED for their use of children? Surely you could-.” The four stopped as Ash, Xerneas and Yveltal turned to them forms flickering between their Origin Forms and in Ash’s case beastial form “YOU DON’T THINK WE WOULD HAVE TRIED?” They roared the fury forcing all of the others to take a step back they calmed slightly enough for their voices to separate as Yveltal snarled “If we had interfered then the world would have ended oh Swords of Justice our power is far too great for the world to manage without our third member around to stabilise it and wouldn’t you know Zygarde decided that it would be a brilliant idea to sleep with the rest of you-.”
“ENOUGH” the shout from Arceus made all the deities move to their positions in hopes of avoiding their wrath “I will not have my children squabbling over this matter. Yveltal, Xerneas and Ash you made the correct choice in awakening the rest of us. We must move quickly to stabilise the world and limit the Trauma on the Children. I suggest we summon them all here. I do not know how we would manage to change the deities' interactions with the Demigods bu-.”
“I may have an idea” came the fluctuating voice of Giratina “we should figure out a way for the Olympian Gods to witness their own failings perhaps through the viewing of events through a demigods perception? This Perseus you spoke of Ash?”
Ash winced “One problem with that Giratina, Percy and his girlfriend Annabeth Chase were lost from Xerneas and Yveltal’s perception around a short while ago and they have found no trace of them since. Their questmates appear to be going towards the House of Hades, a temple to the God in Epirus, it is where the current location of the Greek Doors of Death are in the mortal world and seeing as monsters have been leaving Tartarus in massive quantity we can presume they are in the Pit alone with no backup to speak of…”
For a short moment there was silence before in low, furious voice Arceus gave commands
“Giratina begin gathering Demigods at Ash, Xerneas and Yveltal’s direction. Darkrai and Cresselia go to the pit and find The Young Demigods. Palkia gather the Olympian gods along with the Atlantean Heirs and the primary Chtonic Gods,”
Arceus breathed slowly forcing themselves to calm
“and finally Dialga GET ME THE MORAI.”

Chapter Text
Thalia blinked her eyes open to an unfamiliar ceiling, it looked like the Olympian throne room at first but as she looked closer she found the stars to be different clearer and more prominent as if they were closer, as she sat up she began to hear familiar groans around her as the head councillors of Camp half-blood sat up beside her along with a few other campers. Then her eyes locked onto another group of demigods waking across the room dressed in full armour and considering the Gold weapons next to them they were presumably Roman, she jumped up and began moving the younger demigods behind her and the other Veterans the new Hephaestus and Aphrodite councillors included with the kids (and she was going to ask where the hell Percy and Annabeth were once they were done with whatever this was) the other Vets had already stood and drawn their weapons as the Romans got into formation an-.
“Enough” a powerful voice rang in the demigods' heads “there will be no combat here at this moment now LOWER your weapons children.” All heads turned to the sound of Talons on the floor as four beings stepped into the room. A blue feathered bird like being stood off to the left with a set of crown like crystals sprouting from its brow in a darker shade of blue, its eyes were narrowed at the Greeks and cool wind currents seemed to flow from it and ice cracking sounded in the back of their minds alongside the howling of blizzards. The middle being had black and yellow feathers that crackled with lightning and the sound of thunder ringing in the back of their minds. On the right a large Avian with flames flowing from its wings head and tail stood eyes locked on the romans hot wind currents and the sound of a crackling wildfire burning in their minds. Behind the trio of Birds a large white being stood amused eyes watching a smaller group with some people Thalia recognized as Sally Jackson, her husband and Rachel Dare.
She went to take a step forward when that same voice rang through her mind “Calm yourselves all of you we mean you no harm despite my children’s… inability to lose their resting bitch face” here the White being turned a glare on the three birds who lowered their gazes slightly which seemed to amuse Sally for some reason “I am Lugia, Guardian of the sea’s, storm maker and Great guardian of the Beast of the Sea. With me are Articuno Lady of Ice, Zapdos lord of lightning and Moltres lord of Flames also known as the Three Titans of Shamouti or as I call them the problem children. Welcome to the Hall of Origin.”
Thalia balked at the name she had heard Percy muttering it during what little sleep he managed to get during the Battle of Manhattan though he had clammed up about it when she had asked before Thalia could fall down that thought train however Clarisse stepped forward all brash power and controlled rage, “Why should we listen to you huh? Deities have consistently forced us to fight their battles, you say you mean us no harm yet you kidnapped us while we were preparing for those lot’s” she gestured rather rudely to the Romans before balking at Sally’s reproachful look “assault on our home.”
Articuno locked her gaze onto the Daughter of Ares before speaking “My Dear, my uncle Dialga the Creator of Time has frozen the outside world I assure you any preparations you are making will be in the same condition as they were before we brought you here and as you can see we have brought the Roman leaders as well it may be within their best interest to Parlay lest they be embarrassed for a second time.” The beings' words caused the Romans to snarl something about Graecus sea children being too skilled while glaring at the obvious deity in front of them. Why they thought that showing disrespect to an unknown deity was a good idea Thalia would never know but she wasn't going to save them if Articuno took offence and decided to smite them.
Clarisse, apparently, was reassured by the Freeze Pokémon's words because she moved back to her position in front of the younger Demigods with a sharp nod turning her gaze to the Romans once again. Allowing Thalia to step forward and ask the main question on her mind “Lords and lady, you seem to have brought a large group of Demigods and mortals here but I must ask where are Percy and Annabeth? I would think that those two in particular would be brought before we were or with the rest of the Seven we haven't been told of anything.”
Moltres gave her a confused look “You… You don’t know Miss Grace?” Thalia’s slightly annoyed look clued the Firebird into the fact that she hadn’t been informed by the campers or Seven, presumably because of either simple lack of time or forgetting Thalia would need to be informed given their own preparations. “Right” the Legend continued “this will likely come as a shock to a number of you then Perseus and Annabeth fell into Tartarus upon completion of Miss Chase’s quest to obtain the Athena Parthenos.” the flame Pokémon’s annoyed expression told a story of exactly how impressed the Legends were by that particular Quest especially given the mirrored expressions on his siblings face, while Lugia had an expression of dangerous calm on his face something that frightened Thalia just as much if not more than her uncle's expression when Annabeth told him Percy had gone missing right before an unimaginably large storm began in the Gulf of Mexico.
Suspiciously around the same time Winter had begun to get incredibly harsh and a few neighbourhoods which had families that abused Demigods had suddenly experienced bad sickness along with fires going out despite the Demigod children keeping perfectly warm. Even her father had been livid along with Uncle Hades as thunderstorms and tornados swept through the mid west with no warning despite it being Mid-December and a large increase in Landslides and Cave diving accidents once the Council had been informed.
Travis slapped a palm to his face as the other head councillors gave him and his Brother side eyes, after all as the Sons of Hermes they were the assigned messengers of the camp and while the rest of their cabin also worked as messengers, for contact with the hunters it was either one of their sisters or themselves and for a message specifically for Thalia only they would have been trusted with it. “Sorry Thalia with the defence preparations the information we got from Rachel just wasn't important enough to remember when compared to other messages we had to get out just kinda fell to the wayside.”
The Daughter of Zeus considered him for a moment before sighing and waving him off and ignoring the confused glances the Seven sent her Brother and his girlfriend she turned to ask the legends another question when her eyes landed on Sally whose face had gone so pale she doubted there was any blood left in it. She went to move towards her and then Sally collapsed to her knees hand moving to her chest…
Meanwhile in Tartarus…
Percy had to say of all the bullshit he had to deal with from the greek world since he learned about it those Six short years ago falling into the Hellenic version of Hell and staring down the embodiment of Night right after going on a Poseidon Rage momenttm and scaring his Girlfriend to death was certainly up there on the ‘Why am I still here’ list somewhere around the level of fighting the Chimera and Echidna in the St Louis Arch and he didn't think he would be getting out of this one in even half as good condition.
“So the little demigods finally arrive at my corner of my Brother’s domain and after daring to harm my daughter as well I don’t know if I should commend your bravery or simply smite you where you stand. I certainly won't be lett-.” Before the Primordial could continue a wave of power settled over the area, Darker and more Dangerous than even Nyx then a second lighter but no less dangerous presence joined the first as two waves of Darkness and pure psionic might slammed the primordial back against her palace two beings floated into place on either side of Percy and Annabeth and both newly arrived beings levelled deadly glares at the Lady of Night.
“I suggest that you back off Nyx” the being floating on Annabeth's right side transmitted into all of the minds present “You are not strong enough to defeat even one of us let alone the both of us.”
Nyx snarled a sound that sent shivers down Percy’s spine it reminded him of his Father and stepmother when he was in Atlantis after the Andromeda attack went wrong inhuman and apocalyptic though without the underlying protectiveness that let him accept his families inhuman actions “SO THE LEGENDS HAVE RETURNED HAVE THEY? WELL EVEN YOUR STRENGTH IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE POWER I HAVE GATHERED DAKRAI. CRESSELIA. NOW FALL!”
An almighty crackling pulse of divine power washed out from the primordial towards where the Demigods and legends were standing before, with narrowed eyes, Dakrai flexed one hand and the wave stopped as if pushed against a sea wall and despite Nyx’s attempts nothing she did came even close to fracturing the barrier the Legend of Nightmares had put up as his sister levelled a titanic blast of shimmering moonlight at Nyx forcing the primordial back again causing some of her palace which had been damaged in her first fall to collapse into Khaos and be consumed, as Nyx sprang up again drawing a blade made of pure shimmering Darkness and swung at the Demigods an attack that was barely parried by a silver glinting broom-spear that was flung from its owners hand.
Percy gasped before he stared at the Titan in relief “Bob! We thought you were going to meet us on the other side of the House of… well her.” he gestured towards the Primordial in front of them as the Titan laughed “I was my friends but Lord Darkrai grabbed me before he came here and gave me back most of my memories as Iaepatus, I have to admit though I much prefer how life is as Bob. A Far less demanding, Traumatised and overworked king instead of your dear Grandfather being the highlight, but we should move away. I believe the legends wish to prove a point and I for one DO NOT want to be close to that when they go off.”
As the Titan spoke a roar came from the primordial as a blast of pure energy slammed her further back into the pit around her Palace causing Percy and Annabeth to nod and follow Bob to a distance that was (probably) safe to watch from. Turning back to the ‘battle’ it was clear that even with all her power the Primordial of night was simply not match for the two prime Legends as she was inexorably forced back into her palace by continuous blasts of Psionic power and moonlight from Cresselia. With Darkrai unleashing titanic Orbs of energy and absorbing Nyx’s own blasts of power and Darkness before returning them tenfold.
It took what felt like hours to the Demigods and Titan before the legends noticed they had moved away and began battering the primordial backwards as they shifted to far more terrifying forms Darkrai had taken the form of an undulating mass of shadows and pulsed out an aura of pure terror, which even with Percy being as far away as he was, caused memories of his worst moments to come to the forefront such as when he had been left at home with Gabe, or when he awoke on Calypso’s Island and realised she had changed him alone and with the myths about her… anyway he refocused on the battle in front of him in time to witness Cresselia burst into a different form it reminded him slightly of Artemis but he could tell that even the Moon Goddess wouldn't stand the slightest chance against the lady of Dreams as for the first time since they fell down here Percy and Annabeth were treated to actual light as pure power shone from Cresselia’s form burning away the red miasma that had been their normal for days? weeks? months? They didn't know and at that moment didn't particularly care as they basked in the shimmering moonlight coming off the legend.
Upon the shift of forms Nyx found herself utterly overpowered despite her best attempts the two Legends forced her down and back into the space between her Mother Khaos and Tartarus. Even as she attempted to go into her true form to fight the two their full power when not in their Origin forms still overpowered her soundly and, with an unholy screech, Nyx disappeared back into the Void between oblivion and The Pit.
The two Legends then dropped to their lesser forms and floated over to the small group and Darkrai spoke up “Right after dealing with that tantrum throwing Primordial you thr- four have been cordially summoned to the Hall of Origi-.” Cresselia interrupted him with a glimlit stare “Look, we're taking you to the Hall for reasons that will be explained later, but first Percy, Annabeth were gonna make a quick pitstop to speak with Pecharunt and Eternatus about the incident you had with Akhlys.” Seeing Percy flinch and Annabeth give Percy a wary look she continued “I’m going to ask you to very carefully consider Pecharunt’s words in particular Annabeth. They had a similar problem to you when they were younger and I imagine they could relate to you far better than we could despite the Therapy us and our descendants will be conducting with you and your fellow Demigods. Now let's get out of here Yveltal will come to deal with the doors of death soon I would imagine so that is no longer your issue as it shouldn't have been in the first place.” Her final few words were spoken with a dark tone that had Darkrai putting an arm on her Neck to calm her.
“Remember sis” The dark-type legend said calmly “Arceus is dealing with the Morai, the Demigods won’t have to deal with their games again.” With that final statement the two deities ushered their charges through a portal to a room with a Skeletal Being with a glowing core in its ribcage and a small shelled being that watched them both carefully.
Back in the Demigod Arrival Room…
Thalia rushed forward at the same time as Paul catching Sally before she could go fully limp and began feeling for a pulse, when she felt for a pulse her face paled as she couldn't find one and she spun to call for Will only to find him already at her side palms glowing as Katie pulled Paul away to let Will work. The Legends meanwhile had also moved evidently calling people who could possibly help with what Thalia presumed was shock caused Cardiac Arrest.
As Will worked he got Drew to immediately begin compressions on Sally’s chest in an attempt to get her heart beating again as well as forcing air into her lungs, even when he heard far heavier hoof sounds than he expected from Satyr’s he didn't pull away forcing the power he inherited from his Father to keep working on the Mortal woman who had been such a massive help to the Camp following both the Titan War and Percy’s sudden disappearance, he refused to lose her like this if he had anything to say about it he would only die when she was good and ready and-.
Something pulled him away from her he immediately began thrashing to get back to Sally’s side before he saw a large Deer like being lower it’s antlers to her tapping her body causing it to jolt and begin breathing again the deer sighed before turning to him “Will Solace correct?” The feminine voice rang throughout the room. He stuttered for a moment in awe of how easily she? had healed something as serious as Cardiac Arrest before gathering himself and nodding “Good, you and Miss Tanaka? I presume. You did well. She will need rest and likely some kind of calming drug once she wakes up. Also please call for either Cresselia, your Father or myself using any of our names once she wakes.” Will nodded before speaking “If i may ask my Lady what is your name? So I can call for you. I'm not entirely certain my Father is experienced enough with Mortal biology to be trusted and you have shown yourself where this Cresselia didn't.” The being chuckled slightly before answering “My name young one is Xerneas call and if i am available i will answer. The only reason Cress isn’t here with me is because she and Darkrai have been tasked with retrieving Perseus and Miss Chase from the pit. Your Friends will be brought here as soon as possible. I believe they are just being given a Check on their Mental health Darkrai and Cresselia are our Therapist’s or at least the closest approximation to them. Now while my brother has a conversation on subtlety and giving news gently to Lugia and the Birds, do you Young ones have any questions.” The sentence about her Brother was spoken with exasperation as if Xerneas either felt her brother wasn't the best for that Job or the conversation was one that had been had before.
Katie stepped forward emanating power in a way that reminded the other Councillors that she was the Strongest child of Demeter born in centuries and had picked up on her mothers ability to create famine and devastate whole areas of life and had turned multiple tunnels into impassable areas of Green death during the battle of Manhattan “Why are you only acting now? I mean I would have thought Kronos rising was a threat that would at least need some kind of response from deities of your level?
Xerneas sighed and folded her leg under her allowing her power to make the room into a small field of flowers for people to rest on “I have to admit I expected that question from one of your cousins my dear they seem far more brash” the change in tone seemed to leave the Greek Kronide children exasperated as everyone else freaked out “To put it simply until about” she raised her head as if considering something “oh six to twelve hours ago only myself, Yveltal and Ash were awake the others went dormant around Six Millenia ago? ish any who the three of us couldn't intervene directly because one world ending incident that was dealt with wouldn’t make our point to Arceus our Creator and liege and would probably just lead to us being replaced as custodians and told to go to sleep. Once the Primordials started messing around though that became an entirely different ball game and gave us the right to force an intervention with the Olympi-.”
Before Xerneas could continue a swirling black and purple portal appeared in the air allowing two beings to float out followed by a Titan Nico and Thalia recognised as Iaepatus or Bob as he was now known and Percy and Annabeth, who were clinging to each other as they stepped onto solid ground. Thalia was about to run towards them when she remembered that Sally was unconscious on the floor as the room shook before calming as Percy paled and his legs buckled before he and Annabeth were caught by Bob and placed on the floor near Sally.
The Greeks moved towards them both before the smaller kids ran up to them particularly a little girl with Jellyfish like hair and dark sea green eyes, who had been brought to the camp by some Neriad's and who Percy rushed into the Poseidon cabin upon her arrival despite Chiron's protests, asking if the two were okay and attempting to hug them, before the brighter being who came through the portal gently moved the Kids away as her voice rang into their minds “Young ones as much as i’m sure Percy and Annabeth are glad to see you they are still not fully healed from their time in the pit and have just had some rather exhausting conversations if you can leave them be at least until tomorrow as far as physical comfort is concerned.”
Xerneas turned her head to regard Cresselia but was interrupted by Percy before he could speak “What… What happened to Mom?” his voice was hoarse as if he had been gargling glass which from Nico’s wince wasn't exactly far off. Katie sat next to him not touching but close enough to provide some comfort "she's going to be fine Percy” her vice was low and quiet trying to break the news gently “she went into cardiac Arrest upon learning rather bluntly that you and Annie had fallen into the pit,” Katie ignored Annabeth's weak protests about calling her Annie “but Lady Xerneas has stabilised her and assures us she will be awake tomorrow with only a need for something to keep her calm so please cousin don't panic while your going through Power withdrawal.” Annabeth coughed weakly while frowning with a concerned mien on her face before speaking “What does she mean withdrawal Percy I… I didn’t even know that was a thing?”
Katie, Miranda, Nico and Thalia levelled an unimpressed look at Percy making him wince before Thalia answered Annabeth's Question “Annie power withdrawal tends to only happen in extreme cases of Power overuse so its only really a problem for Kronide kids cause for the rest of you you run out of juice before your power out does your bodies limitations. It’s more of a case of extremely bad Power-overuse like can leave you crippled for years if a Second Gen God kid did it let alone a Legacy. As far as I know only Katie suffered it during the battle of Manhattan when sealing 90% of the tunnels and she was out of commission at Sally’s for two whole months. What did he do to bring himself to that point so quickly?”
Annabeth’s frown deepened as she levelled a weak, concerned glare at Percy “He forcefully over powered Misery in her own Domains and nearly killed her while she was actively fighting back.” Nico smacked himself on the forehead and started muttering about idiotic sea children who couldn’t stop sacrificing themselves. Thalia, Katie, Miranda and the Poseidon Cabin’s only other resident glared at Percy while the little one’s hair started slapping Percy on the arm gently. He protested, “Hey, Reuma, what was that for?” The little girl of about 5 years old glared at him and said “Uncle being stupid, Cousins can’t slap you so I do it.” Percy sat there dumb founded for a moment as his cousins burst out laughing and the female Legends giggled.
Once they calmed Xerneas levelled them with a serious expression “Perseus, tomorrow Giratina will come and find you to ask you about something I will let her explain it but i want you to know that in th end it is YOUR choice do not make it simply because it is what is asked of you please genuinely consider it.” She turned to the two Dream based legends “Now Darkrai, Cresselia I will leave everyone with you for the night all of you please do try to actually get some sleep. It is around 12 o’Clock at night someone will come wake you at 10:00 sharp for breakfast. I must go check with Ho-oh and the others to assure no one is going to do anything stupid like Moltres did today. Good night children.” With her piece said Xerneas cantered out of the room the sound of her hoofbeats faded into the distance as Darkrai led the Romans to barracks like rooms the legends assumed would make them feel more secure each had its own kitchenette that could be used if the demigods needed something or wished to have breakfast away from the dining hall Arceus had made to accommodate their Guests.
With the Greeks Cresselia brought Sally, Paul alongside them and placed them both in a room just off the common area the legends more associated with the domains of the children had built once she had settled the mortal pair she floated back into the common room. She got the demigods attention “Now everyone, all of your apartments are numbered in the same order as your cabins. For those of you with partners we didn't think it would be a good idea to separate you during this event so all apartment areas have rooms with two person beds each room will immediately change to mimic the Domain of your parent as we have found that such a thing helps with sleep in Demigods, as Xerneas said someone will come and get you at 10:00 if you wish to train or cook before then there are kitchenettes filled with food and drink in each apartment and a gym off behind the door marked Zero have a good night and i will see you in the morning and please genuinely do try to get some sleep i assure you by my power no nightmares will effect you or Demigod dreams.”
With that she allowed the demigods to scatter into smaller groups many of which began to discuss watch times a few tried to speak to Percy and Annabeth but they simply waved them off and walked into the Poseidon apartment along with little Reuma which caused the other Demigods to move towards their numbered apartments to settle the young ones and finally get some sleep after a long day.

Chapter Text
Hestia blinked in confusion, moments ago she had been struggling to keep a gap between herself and Vesta and keeping a careful eye on her siblings as they attempted to do the same with their Roman halves, though Demeter and Poseidon seemed to be having the most trouble for some reason, in any case suddenly having her mind be quiet for the first time in weeks was a blessed experience and “I’m still here Hestia though I do wonder what is stopping the schism?” Hestia ignored the exclamations of her nieces and Nephews as they woke up in favour of having a mental conversation with her fellow Elder Gods alongside their other forms “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW HERA” Poseidon’s voice boomed across their minds causing them all to flinch at the ancient fury underlying his tone “First you kidnap my son now you cause us to appear in an unknown place? I should eviscerate you where you sit ‘sister’.” Before Hera could respond to their Brothers' derision all seven of them sensed a presence they hadn't felt in over six millenia.
Turning they came into eye contact with a being they had almost forgotten about despite the fact that she had kept them from destroying the world more than once in the early years of their reign and one whom the children had never met. Though Hestia doubted this would be a quiet meeting given the glares they were receiving from The Legendary Beasts and Ho-Oh, she sighed as she greeted the ancient bird “Lady Ho-Oh we were not informed the Legends had reawakened to what do we owe the pleasure of yourself and your children’s presence.” The Elder Gods held their breath as the legends kept up their considering glare before Ho-Oh spoke her voice filled with scorn “Do not act as if you do not know why you and your children were brought here Olympian such… Idiocy is unbecoming of you falsified or not.” Hestia winced and ran a worried eye over her nieces and Nephews, even Melinoe and Zagreus were brought here surprisingly, all of whom prone to bouts of recklessness if faced with a perceived insult it was something all of them had been trying to weed out of the younger Generation to little success and the ‘Guardian of the skies’ was not known for her ability to temper her words when she felt someone needed to hear them.
Zeus winced at the Rainbow Pokemon’s rebuke to Hestia, he and his siblings had already guessed that this meeting had been caused by the failings of his family and he was not willing to risk enraging the very protective being in front of them especially with the memory of the last time he had been stupid enough to do so and her daughter Raikou had reminded him of exactly how much lightning could hurt he steeled himself before speaking determined to not show weakness to his children “Lady Ho-Oh while my sister’s words were perhaps ill chosen we are unaware of why we would be summoned by yourself or the Lord Arceus on such short notice if you would be willing to explain?”
The Old being in front of them sighed but before she could explain the booming voice of Raikou answered him instead. “You were called because of your failure to rule Oh God-King something that forced Aunt Xerneas, Uncle Yveltal and Ash to awaken us early something along the lines of Forcing Demigods to fight your wars? We also heard about some Laws you made that are certainly Interesting when you consider how much you interfered before the Trojan war. Was it really so bad you felt you had to pull away from your children as well as the Mortals?”
Before anyone could respond to the Beast of Thunder’s questions her attention shifted to Zeus’ children a snarl on her muzzle “And don't get me started on you fools at least your parents stuck to their domains for the most part what's your excuse? A wisdom Goddess attempting to claim knowledge as her domain, supposed protectors all and yet you still fail to prevent abuse and pain upon your charges. How DARE you claim custodianship over those Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion and Keldeo protected and do NOTHING. The sheer gall that you must hold to claim to be a council yet you do not challenge the decisions of your Father unless it suits your interest an-”
“YOU DARE?” The roar came from an unsurprising source, Ares had never been known to be the calmest of Zeus’ children but one would have perhaps expected a bit of caution around the beings his more powerful Girlfriend, Aunts, uncles and Father were cautious around, though before he could continue Suicune stepped forward her voice cool and calm “I suggest we all calm down immediately we did not bring you here to berate you for your inadequacies that would do nothing to help your temperaments, we are here to welcome you to the hall of Origin, Time has been frozen outside the primary resting domains of the Legendaries meaning that the Primordials will not be able to move against you whilst we complete the business that you were brought here to complete, we have also brought Demigods and other assorted people to both assist in the telling of the story you will witness and allow them to air their grievances in a place they cannot be smote simply because you were annoyed.”
Zeus sighed knowing even before he heard them speak that his children would not accept that without a fight, one they would surely lose with the overconfidence they had all gained in their superiority despite Aphrodite, his siblings and his own attempts to force them to remember that there were higher forces than Olympus, he, his siblings and Aphrodite had never forgotten the one time that Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon had fought each other before Lord Rayquaza had forced the fight to halt. They had been completely helpless as the two Legends clashed storms consuming Ocean basins and Earthquakes rocking continents as every Pantheon bunkered down and prayed to whoever would listen for the chaos to stop and then the even more terrifying arrival of the Sky’s original Lord as in one attack he brought down the two warring Catastrophes.
Athena’s voice cut his thoughts off “We are Gods the mortals should show the appropriate respect when in our presence we will smite them if we wish and the efforts of some Minor Deities with delusions of grandeur will not stop us, especially ones who are so insignificant that we have not even heard of you.” The Elder Gods gave the younger deity looks of horror, but before they could pull her back and attempt to shield her Entei took one stepped forward and a ground ripping snarl fell from the Volcano Pokemon’s maw as magma seeped from the floor around the Wisdom Goddess “Minor Deities you say Child of the Sky God?” Entei’s voice boomed through the room his fury as obvious as one would expect from a being that could cause volcano’s to form with just a bark “I would have hoped your Father would have at least alerted you to tales of slumbering Elder Gods even if you did not believe them and erred on the side of caution.”
This caused a snort from all of Zeus’ children along with both the children of Hades and Persephone making the Heirs to Poseidon to raise their eyebrows after all they had all heard the stories their Mother and Father would tell them of the power of the Legendaries and simply could not understand the sheer idiocy they were seeing from their cousins.
In the main Hall of Origin…
Arceus levelled a furious glare down at the Trio of beings in front of them. They go to sleep for SIX millennia and these idiots not only manage to kill off the pokemon species but also manage to nearly bring about the collapse of half the world's pantheons. They had hoped that the fools could keep things in an order while they slept but evidently that would be impossible they sighed as the Trio began waking from the enforced slumber Dialga had placed them in.
As the Morai awakened they immediately paled as one would expect when faced with a furious creator of all but before they could stammer out a greeting Arceus began their rant. “We go into dormancy for SIX millenia and We awaken to three of our children distraught over the slaughter of children long before their time, Nature crumbling to the point that most of my children even now, a solid half a day after we awakened, are still working to prevent total ecological collapse and Many of the worlds pantheons either Faded or Fading. YOU HAD ONE JOB. How hard is it to keep the world in some semblance of order for a short ten millennia. The world wasn't this badly damaged even 15 millennia ago when my children we actively battling each other. YOU FUCKED UP SO BADLY THAT EVEN TIME AND SPACE THEMSELVES BATTLING EACH OTHER WAS LESS CATASTROPHIC THAN WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED. Before We go any further do you have anything to say for yourselves?” Arceus’ furious presence had forced the three weavers to kneel The Creator Of All levelling them a glare so incandescently angry they doubted that even Khaos would be able to stay standing in the beings presence.
Clotho was the first of them to gather herself and stammered out a short and entirely false explanation “L-Lord Arceus we tried to keep the world stable but the Mortals and Gods kept moving off our path an-” A snarl cut the Fate off as from behind a pillar stepped the Vast White Pokemon a glare fixed upon the Flaming Dragon's maw and her turbine like tail bursting with suppressed fire “Do NOT attempt to lie to us fool” she hissed her Turbine revving further “did you really believe Lord Arceus would be foolish enough to not have his Lie Detector child here when… Discussing with you your failings?” The Fates flinched at Reshiram’s scathing words paling further as her siblings stepped into view behind her.
Arceus started up again following Reshiram’s shut down of the Morai’s attempt to get themselves out of the Grave they had dug “I SEE you are not even willing to own up to your mistakes well then that makes what We are about to do ohhh so much easier. Now you three are no longer allowed to weave the threads of life and death you may still weave the future and Present but you will be closely watched by Dialga and Celebi to ensure no more of this foolishness and any Prophecies that are to be given will be given by Dialga’s Power and Authority unless it decides the fate of all in which case We will grant it be spoken is this CLEAR.” The Morai shivered under the intense glare of Arceus and bowed their heads to The Creator's command.
Arceus nodded content “Begone from Our sight then you will be called when the reading begins.” Once the Morai flashed away Arceus turned to the Dragon Trio “My children how goes the restoration of the world?” They Winced at Reshiram’s despondent look That bad? Reshiram gave him a beseeching look “Father the world is devastated and we cannot heal it to the best of our ability while it is frozen I fear it would be better to stop a pointless attempt at healing the world while Dialga keeps it frozen in order to better plan how to deal with the damage once time resumes.” Zekrom spoke up next, his voice stronger than his sisters “I must agree with Reshiram Father, while it is not Ideal the world simply cannot be fully healed as it is now and while time is stopped.” Kyurem nodded at his siblings words voice crackling out “Indeed my siblings are correct there is no reasonable way to heal the world as it is now with time halted.”
Arceus nodded “Then the world will simply have to wait i will call back all the others i expect to begin reading if Perseus agrees at around Midday do be ready by then children.” Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem took the dismissal as what it was and swiftly left the room only Arceus left gazing into the void between the Hall and Creation wondering how everything went so very very wrong.
Back with The Gods…
The Legendaries watched as the children of Zeus and Hades began to protest their power utterly disinterested by the childish Tantrums being displayed before them they began to turn away with a final word to the Olympians and the other Gods “Do get some rest someone will come wake you at Ten sharp tomorrow morning for breakfast your children and some others will be there do try to provide a half decent example for them it may help you.” Suicune's words seemed to be the last straw for the God of War and with a devastating (for a God) snarl he sprang at her Blade poised to slam through her spine and with a roar the war god swung his blade at the Aurora Pokemon. However, as it approached another far larger blade met it coming the other way and, with a howl, Zacian flung Ares back slamming him into the floor as her Brother, who jumped from behind her, pinned the War God under his paw.
The other Second Generation Olympians Jumped to their feet but were met with a furiously snarling Zacian and the terrifying figure of an enraged Ho-Oh and then they felt their combined voices smash into their minds “YOU WONT DO THAT AGAIN ARE WE CLEAR BRATS?” The sheer power behind the voice forced the Young Gods to their knees as they began rapidly nodding even as they did so Athena and Artemis cast desperate looks to their Father who, while seeming worried about them, was clearly not willing to risk the fury of the Deities before them they began to think they should have actually listened to their Fathers stories as their Sea based cousins clearly had from Poseidon who seemed to be amused at their quick surrender.
The Two enraged female Legends nodded and gestured to a set of doors that had appeared just off the side of the hall they were in. Before anyone could move the sound of large hooves hitting the floor resonated from a corridor and Xerneas cantered into the room, she immediately took in the situation and Suicune being looked over by her siblings before snorting “Evidently, having Zacian and Zamazenta with you was a good plan Ho-Oh dear.” The large Phoenix chuckled “Quite, Xerneas we were just about to get them settled after dealing with that unpleasantness” The Storm’s End turned towards the Gods and Gestured to the set of doors “Each door has a set of apartments behind it for all of you do try to keep from killing each other im sure there will be enough of that when we begin.”
Zeus drew himself up to begin ordering his children to bed and in short order the room cleared of all the Gods save for Poseidon who stayed to ask a final question “My Ladies, I must ask… Is my Son okay Percy I mean I… Khaos knows I failed him as a Father, which seems to be a theme with my children, but anyway is he at least alive and as well as possible?”
Xerneas Gave the Sea God a pitying look “Much as i wish i could say so Poseidon i cannot he is currently suffering from the aftereffects of the amnesia alongside Trauma from falling into the pit and Power Overuse. I can, however, assure you that our best are keeping careful eyes on the health of all the Mortals within our domain and that includes Perseus and Demeter’s children.”
Poseidon sighed in relief even if his son was not currently okay with the legends looking after him there was little doubt he would pull through he nodded gave his thanks and went to join Amphitrite in their apartment curious of what lay ahead of them.

Chapter Text
Percy groaned as he woke up still reeling from the effects of Power Withdrawal he hadn't felt this bad since the Battle of Manhattan, he’d compare it to Mt St Helens but he had to be honest even that particular incident of Power Overuse wasn’t as bad as either the battle or now turning her saw Annabeth laid on another bed next to him he wondered what had woken him up before he heard a squeaky voice coming through the wall to the room where Reuma was sleeping.
Rolling off the bed and falling onto the floor he grabbed riptide as he stood up and moved slowly towards his little niece’s door with Annabeth following after she was woken up by his rather dramatic exit from his bed nudging the door open he nearly immediately burst out laughing at the scene in front of him followed by Annabeth as they got a good look at a small pink cat Deity currently being glomped by a sleeping child and her jellyfish tendril hair.
Ten minutes previously…
Mew had got almost all of the demigods and mortals up and moving while Celebi dealt with the Romans and Eternatus got the Olympians; she only had to wake up the Sea children and Miss Chase. Figuring the Child of Kymopoleia would be the easier of the three to wake up, especially with Percy and Annabeth going through the Pit. Floating into the little one's room the New Species Pokemon gently nudged the Child she had no wish to spook her, despite her mischievous nature, children are most definitely not on the list of people she was willing to scare.
As the small Mythical nudged the child again with her hand she found her arm wrapped up by the little one’s hair tendrils before she could experience more than a tiny bit of existential dread she was pulled into the Jellyfish child's arms as Reuma snuggled deeper into the bed she began protesting the treatment nearly immediately and started struggling but the child just pulled her closer leaving the mythical to resign herself to her fate and then she heard the telltale light puffs of feet on the wood the floors were made out of.
Then she heard the door open and she knew, just knew that her mysterious mythical pranking menace aura was going to fade completely once people were told about this. The Great Mew felled by a small child with Jellyfish tendrils for hair.
In the Present…
Reuma woke up to the sound of laughter from her Uncle Percy and Aunt Annie that she didn't understand at first, then she felt the soft thing she was hugging start trying to get out of her grip she blushed as she let go her arms slackening first before she got her hair under control and let the being she had latched onto go.
Mew shot away from the child to hover over at the door clearly disgruntled before her squeaky voice rang into their minds “If you tell anyone about this I will wreak horrible vengeance upon you in pranks, now get to the main room you have ten minutes.” with that the mythical teleported out with a bink sound as they got moving.
About seven minutes later the three left their room finding the rest gathered in a group with Mew floating at the front the mythical noticed them and smiled “Now kids were going to walk to the main room primarily because I wont be here to teleport you everyday and yes before you ask there will be food.” The Cat’s dry conclusion was compounded by her gaze fixing on the Stoll’s and Chris who looked like they had been about to ask that very question.
As they walked Percy took up the back position with Nico and Thalia at his shoulders Katie and Miranda watched from the sides eyes sharp as Clarisse and Annabeth stood in the front with Travis. Connor and Chris flanking them and they entered the room the picture of relaxed warriors, calm but ready to move at a moment's notice Mew she ushered them all out guiding them down a short corridor before they reached a massive hall where the Mythical shot over towards a group of other Legends leaving the Greek Demigods, Sally, Paul, Rachel, Grover and Juniper staring at the Romans.
Hazel and Frank moved to join the other members of the seven from the edge of the Roman Group ignoring Octavian's Protestations about traitors and enemies of the legion. Percy gave the pair a once over before allowing them to sit down among the eating Greeks. Clarisse raised an eyebrow at the new arrivals “New friends Prissy? Were we so easily replaced?” Percy snorted at her joke “Course not muscle-brain these two just so happened to be the only reasonable people in that whole place.”
Hazel gave him a dry look “Percy just because it’s not Gree-” Percy smacked a hand on the table which caused Hazel to flinch. He took a deep breath as Annabeth laid a hand on his shoulder before speaking “Hazel… I want you to consider for me not how you feel right now but in the future if you have kids and not only are they forced into military service as children but the adults of New Rome sit and watch your child die.”
The Greeks paused but before they could voice their outrage the Gods strode into the room to glares from the Greeks and Bows from the Romans The Children of Zeus and Hades merely gave cursory looks at the children before moving to get food their parents followed similarly but what was the most attention grabbing was the confused stares on the Sea delegations faces when they looked over at Percy’s table seeing Reuma only Benthesikyme, Kymopoleia, Herophile, who was being crushed in a hug by Aphrodite, and Poseidon did not seem surprised by the small child next to Percy and Annabeth.
Chiron and Lupa were notably off to the side watching the arrival of the Gods though their reactions to the Greek irreverence were completely different and equally ignored.
The Kronides and Aphrodite moved away from the younger gods once they collected their food and moved to seat themselves nearer the Demigods. Giving their Demigod children searching looks presumably in an attempt to gauge their health.
Once everyone had finished eating, Giratina floated over from the group of legends. “Perseus, if you are done with your food I wish to inform you of our request. Miss Chase can come with us if you feel uncomfortable being taken from her presence so soon after returning from The Pit.”
Percy nodded standing up with Annabeth following as a rift opened in front of the trio allowing them to enter the Distortion World then Giratina turned to them after closing the rift “Right i’m going to be perfectly honest with you Perseus we are in a bit of a conundrum you see when we allowed other Pantheons to take primary governance of the world we presumed they would do so with the understanding they were merely custodians and for the most part the Elder Gods have remembered this but the new generation of Gods is likely to cause problems because… well…”
Percy sighed “Let me guess because of their pride and inability to accept the advice of their elders they would rebel and put the world in even worse shape than it already is in.” Giratina smirked at the Demigod’s answer “Quite Perseus I presume you got dragged into your family drama.” Percy’s deadpan look told Giratina all she needed to know. The ancient Legend sighed “We wish to use your experiences to demonstrate exactly how the Gods and others have failed you and your allies; we simply need your permission.”
Percy looked at the Legend and her voice expressed exactly how little the Legends actually liked the idea of using his experiences. He wasn't exactly thrilled to have his personal experiences used as a teaching tool but… it could also improve the lives of so many of his friends even if it only made the gods change slightly… It would be worth it and, with a nod, he agreed to the proposal.
A tendril drifted through his hair and the space shifted around them as Giratina brought them out of the Distortion World she gave a curt nod to Arceus as Percy saw that the rest of the Legends had arrived from whatever they had been doing then the Creator of All spoke “Gods of Olympus, Demigods, Legacies, Mortals and Others. Welcome to the Hall Of Origin it has been brought to our attention upon our awakening that certain beings in the room forgot that they hold CUSTODIANSHIP over Our kingdom and not Rulership, not only that but they fail to do such a basic task as keep a relative sense of Order along with MANY other issues. So for the foreseeable future we will be reading a set of books written throughout the life of One Perseus Jackson. Now, Yveltal if you would be so kind?”
Percy stood, “Wait, we're going to be reading my Journals?” At Arceus' nod Percy sat down head in his hands “I’m going to die.” he whined. Thalia laid a hand on his shoulder in comfort as Annabeth rested against his side. The other Demigods except for his Cousins were quietly laughing.
Yveltal sighed as the book floated in front of him before grabbing it with his own psionic abilities to open it and begin reading aloud (I Accidentally Vaporise My Pre-Algebra Teacher.)
Thalia snorted "How does one manage to Vaporise someone accidentally Kelp-Head?”
Percy raised his head, laughed and shrugged “When you are told literally nothing and then thrown into the meat grinder it tends to cause issues, Thals.”
Poseidon looked worried “I get the feeling I'm going to dislike this story aren’t I Son?”
Percy looked at his father cautiously. “That depends on what you mean by dislike, it's definitely going to bring you glory if that’s what you mean.”
Demeter, Hestia and Amphitrite levelled disappointed glares at the flabbergasted sea god who was confused what his son meant but Yveltal continued before he could voice his question as to how Percy could possibly believe he cared about that more than his health.
(Look I Didn’t want to be a Half-Blood… Try to lead a normal Life.)
Nico snorted “Good advice cousin wouldn’t work for most of us here though.”
Percy levelled him an unimpressed look “Ah yes because im totally expecting a sibling or cousin in the near future even in ancient times our parents didn't tend to have many Demigods Nico. At least not at the same time and besides me, you and Hazel aren't even Bastards in the truest sense of the word.”
Hera snorted “Despite your valid point Perseus I will remind you about your many bastard siblings from… other beings.”
Her brothers winced at her words as they protested before their own wives joined Hera glaring at them, making them subside.
Hestia, Demeter, Aphrodite and the Kronide Demigods snorted and giggled at the interaction, something they were all quite used to from family meetings the demigods ‘mysteriously’ appear at.
(Being A Half-Blood is dangerous. It’s scary. Most of the time it gets you killed in painful nasty ways… Dont Say I didnt Warn you.)
Annabeth piped up from her position next to Percy “Note to self don’t send Percy on recruitment unless its little kids.”
Percy Gasped mock offended “Excuse you I am a delight and brilliant with children.”
Ash snorted from the left “Ah yes a delight im sure certain beings would agree with that statement, where is beheading on your manners training Mrs Blofis?”
Sally gave the Legend a surprised look at the addressment before smirking “My Lord. It wasn't specifically beheading but if one wishes to assault a Guest one must be prepared for the consequences” At the surprised look she received from the campers she smiled sweetly “What? It is hardly polite to not return a host’s violence with your own. If one finds themselves under violent assault from a Host then clearly the host is willing to enrage a God and at that point you should simply ensure your own safety.”
Hades, Hera, Demeter, Hestia and Aphrodite seemed to slump in their seats at the realisation that Percy did in fact get his more Chaotic personality traits from both sides of his family, as the Sea Gods and Jacksons smiled beatifically at the shocked looks Sally received. Zeus laughed slightly at Sally’s words “It is not often one remembers that particular domain of mine Lady Blofis but I must agree with you.”
Nico cut in from the left. “Good with Kids? If it wasn't for Lady Benthesikyme, Reuma would be eating only pizza or something.”
Percy turned to look at Nico with the most betrayed look on his face as his sisters glared at him “Nico how could you betray me so dearest cousin now they’re Mad.”
Apollo spoke up “Is it truly that bad I mean one would think that you would love being Demigods, what with the glory and the powe-.”
“Glory?” Will whispered “Where is the glory in dying young? The glory in losing family for a war we shouldn't be fighting? We are children! You threw us into war with Titans because of Old Rules made when there was no risk to Olympus. At least Lord Zeus dropped Arrows and weapons for us, Lord Poseidon provided healing herbs from the sea despite his war with Oceanus, Lady Demeter actively destroyed an Army assaulting the camp. Where were you when my siblings died, Father?”
Apollo turned, eyes burning, towards his Son “You Dare?”
Will snapped back “YES. Yes I dare, do you even remember their Names? Because I do every single Name of a Demigod I failed to save Unclaimed or not whether they were my siblings or a cousin or a hunter we've become a family and we forged it through a war You made us fight.”
Apollo made to rise but found his power failing him as an almost Musical roar rang across the room “ENOUGH sit down Child of Zeus and remember where you are you represent not only your Father but me through your connection to my domain and I will not have you besmirching either of our names. Please continue Yveltal.”
The Embodiment of Death nodded to Solgaleo whose mane was still burning white hot with his barely contained fury.
(My name is Percy Jackson.)
“I-.” Katie slapped a hand over the Stolls mouths before they could draw Yveltal’s ire to them.
“Apologies Lord Yveltal continue.” Katie ignored the smug looks she got from her cousins and Aphrodite despite mentally promising horrible vengeance upon them.
(...Am I ... Troubled Kid)
The resounding shout of “YES” from the campers caused many of the legends to burst out laughing as they were reminded of Ash’s earlier days before their brother silenced them.
Percy grumbled at the campers about traitors and seeing if he helped them again which caused Octavian to begin crowing about disloyalty before Reyna silenced him at the Greek Demigods’ amused snorts..
(...You could say that.)
“He admits it!” Pollux raised his hands in celebration “It only took 30 sessions but between me and Dad we got through to him.”
Dionysus levelled his Son an unenthused look as Zeus turned with a raised eyebrow only to be smacked lightly by Hestia. The unamused look the wine god received from his father as they began reading again however promised that they would be discussing this later.
(...start at any point in my short miserable life…)
Sally winced but before anyone could ask why Percy cut in “We don't want to talk about it please Lord Yveltal keep reading.”
Poseidon looked like he wanted to interrupt and talk with his Son but decided against it though the similar expressions on Demeter and Amphitrites face alongside the narrowed eyes of The heirs of the Sea surprised many of the Demigods.
(...sounds like torture…)
Athena and Apollo let out twin shrieks of indignant fury “Torture? That sounds amazing. Do you have no respect for history, Perseus/ Sea Brat?”
Zeus turned a deadpan glare to his children “One. Poseidon’s children have worse ADHD and Dyslexia than our own because of their connection to the seas. Two if Lady Uxie The Legend of Knowledge who brought the search of such to both us and Mankind and allowed your domains to exist can hold her tongue on the matter so can you I will not have you embarrassing us in front of the Legends children. Now be Silent.”
Athena looked shocked at her Fathers rebuke and tried to speak “But father I though-.”
Zeus turned a look of controlled Anger on his face “ENOUGH. Daughter, control yourself.”
Athena backed down to the surprise of many of the Demigods who had believed her to be unpunishable in Zeus’ eyes following the first war.
(...Mr Brunner… Leading This Trip… Bad things happen… on Field Trips…)
Sally just lowered her head into her hand as she shook with laughter while Percy hid his face in Annabeth’s hair from the looks he was receiving from much of the room.
Triton was the first to speak up “H- How did you manage to pull the wrong lever? And why was that cannon loaded?”
Percy mumbled “Shark tank do the math.”
“... And the cannon?”
Athena answered in the most condescending voice possible “Obviously it was prepared for a display this is why we can’t trust th-.” She was interrupted by a blast of salt water from Reuma who was teary eyed and glaring at the Goddess for her tone.
Before Athena could move to punish the child however, all of the big three demigods present locked eyes on her along with Kymopoleia, an obvious warning of what would happen if she dared to lay a hand on the child. Poseidon was already fingering his trident showing his position on the matter even as he kept his gaze on the Legends and most terrifyingly of all was Mew hovering behind Reuma glowing eyes locked on the Goddess alongside the four swords who had charged their horns but were not specifically aimed at Athena. The thing that really wounded the goddess however was her daughter Annabeth and her Son Malcolm both holding their weapons hilt or shaft grey eyes so like her own staring her down fully willing to fight their mother to prevent her getting her way and assaulting another Sea citizen
The wisdom Goddess sat back down face pale with the Ichor having drained from her face as she realised how outmatched she was and how far she had pushed her children before she once more solidified her facade as cold and calculating, turning away with a huff. Yveltal allowed the standoff to continue for a short moment before he returned to reading, dragging the attention off of the arrogant Goddess.
(This trip, I was determined to be good)
Annabeth sighed “I don’t doubt you tried before, your luck is just the absolute worst for normal events.”
Grover nodded along with her, remembering the quests the three of them took during the Titan war and how Percy’s luck always led them into the most dangerous situations which granted did weaken the forces in the battles of Camp and Manhattan but still why was there a Hydra near them when they just went to get coffee as a group.
Poseidon’s siblings levelled amused looks at him remembering how he would somehow get into worse situations than the rest of them either alone or with someone else during the first Titanomachy and it was not any better in the Second one. Apparently his newest Demigod child had gained his luck with dangerous situations.
(Nancy Bobofit… Chunks of Peanut butter and Ketchup sandwich .)
Dionysus erupted from his seat alongside Hermes the Satyr’s had fallen into their care upon Pan’s disappearance but despite their fury the glares from the Legends force them back down into their seats as people ignored the grumbling form of Shaymin on Giratina’s head who was attempting to calm her wife.
(Grover was… Target … should have seen him run…)
Thalia sighed, turning to the sheepish Satyr “C’mon Goat boy surely you were better than that.”
Grover glared over at her despite keeping one eye on the too calm for it to be safe Sea King “Thalia… I was playing a role and if I just so happened to run while crippled to keep that role more believable then you can hardly blame me.”
Nico snorted “It wasn’t you just playing a role though was it?”
Grover rolled his eyes “You don't get to talk mr I- Cough-Choke what in the Underworld?”
Celebi grinned off to the side “No spoilers Mr Underwood that goes for everyone.”
Grover gave her a wary glance before speaking “My favouring of enchilada’s obviously sold the role better Nico I don’t see why you're complaining the only person with the right to is Percy.”
A dark aura flowed across the room as Yveltal glared at the group he was willing to accept interruptions but he also hoped to get through more than one chapter in a day
(...The Headmaster… Threatened me with Death-)
Percy braced for the explosion right before it happened as his father roared “HE WHAT.”
Percy gulped “Lord Yveltal please read before the room floods.”
Yveltal gave one last look to the enraged Sea God before he followed Percy’s suggestion.
(by in-school Suspension…)
Poseidon’s eyes narrowed even as he relaxed slightly but his voice no longer felt like it was going to rip the hall apart as he spoke “Apollon control your domain and those in it before someone else does it for you. If this is what my Son and Granddaughter have to go through, Khaos knows what other Demigods have to deal with.”
Kymopoleia turned to him, her face slightly pale “You… You knew?”
Poseidon turned to her with a deadpan look “Daughter. The little one has been staying in my cabin. Of course I knew, who do you think made her the protective shell pendant for her Camp Necklace.”
Kym blushed slightly before frowning “Why do you care though. You banished me for some reason millenia ago and haven't tried to contact me in all that time.”
Amphitrite answered this time “Banish. What is she talking about Poseidon?”
The Sea God kept his eyes on his daughter as he answered “I don't know my dear. I certainly did not sign any banishment or order one for you, dear daughter. We were told you were last seen leaving the Gates and the messenger told us you were going to build your own home. Are you saying they lied?” Poseidon's eyes began to swirl with black specs and the area around him shuddered under his fury.
Percy stood before they continued “Dad, Kym I seriously doubt you want to have this conversation here with all the non-family members around us. We can continue it another time, preferably when we can all sit down to discuss how the hell something like this happened.” Kymopoleia and Poseidon nodded at Percy’s words but they both agreed they would absolutely continue this conversation at a later date. Even if only because of the risk of traitors within Atlantis
(...Going to Kill her…)
Artemis glared lightly at the young Sea Prince “I hope you would not actually lay a hand on a maiden Perseus.”
The Demigod considered that before answering “Lady Artemis whilst I would most certainly love to avoid harming Mortals some of them do actively deserve it and Nancy absolutely did. Whether they are male or female has no bearing on the matter and certainly not whether they have ever copulated. I fail to see why you believe it would.”
The huntress considered him before turning away which Percy considered a win.
(... In school suspension would be nothing…)
The Big Three along with Ares turned their gazes away at that as the rest of the Gods glared at Zeus and Poseidon that had been a rather terrifying period for them.
Percy muttered to Thalia and Nico “You’d think that the multiple millennia old Gods could have a conversation with each other.”
Nico snorted “Neither of you two have any right to talk about conversation abilities or did you forget that little incident after you pick- Cough-choke.”
His cousins gave him light glares knowing what he was going to say before Yveltal continued
(,,,survived for two - three thousand years…)
Arceus smiled from the front of the room “We have always found it fascinating how creative Humanity is even without modern technology granted you are a rather aggressive species but all the same the sheer ingenuity that Humanity is capable of is impressive.”
The Second Generation Olympians looked like they disagreed but were unwilling to challenge the Creator of All’s words especially with the Elder Gods nodding along beside them Percy seemed amused by his cousins reluctance to accept that they weren't at the top of the food chain anymore though none of the Demigods knew why he seemed to be on relatively good terms last time they saw him meet any of them.
(Mrs Dodds… Figured I was Devil Spawn.)
Thalia slowly turned to Hades and Zeus, her eyes narrowed. “So a math teacher appears at the school and just so happens to consider the Son of Uncle Poseidon ‘Devil spawn’...” Both Gods turned their gazes away from her only to find similar glares on their sisters faces when they saw them.
NIco scoffed into the silence “What an interesting coincidence she Targets the only known to be living Big three demigod on the planet” Jason made to protest but was interrupted by Nico continuing “it’s almost like two out of three male Kronides keep targeting children over their issues.”
Hades and Zeus began protesting before Keldeo slammed his hoof on the floor “What do you mean Keep targeting children Son of Hades.” The snarl should have looked ridiculous on the small pony like Legend but with the sheer rage emanating from him it looked far more terrifying than even Kronos had been.
Nico rallied before answering the enraged Water Deity “Both Uncle Zeus and My Father took action to remove Myself and Thalia from the board so to speak I'm certain it will come up later in the books, Lord if you wish to discuss it.”
Keldeo snarled a final time before nodding and moving back to the edge of the room to lay down with the other Swords.
(...Told Grover… Mrs Dodds was Human. He looked at me… and said ‘Your Absolutely right.’)
“GROVER” the shout came from all the Greek demigods as Dionysus and Chiron facepalmed and dragged their hands down their faces.
The satyr blushed and hid his face in Juniper’s hair as the Sea Group glared at him for what in their eyes was incompetence even if they turned away at Percy’s unamused look.
(Nancy Bobofit snickered… ‘Will you shut up?’ It came out louder than…)
Athena and Apollo looked shocked. “You actually wanted to learn?”
Their children glared at them but it was Clarisse that spoke up “Of course he does, he's one of the smartest in camp he just can’t keep still or keep his focus because of his ADHD its not Uncommon even among your kids. How do you not know this?”
Athena glared at her. “Watch your tone girl and also why would we know of the issues you children face if it is hardly our problem?”
Zeus glared at his daughter. “Did you perhaps forget that I also govern Oaths daughter despite my breaking of the oath of no children between myself Poseidon and Hades I do still hold that domain. The entire council agreed to Perseus’ oath and you endorsed it; we would expect you to hold to it. Please continue before this becomes embarrassing, Lord Yveltal.”
(That’s Kronos… His Kids…)
The five swallowed Kronides let out groans. Even Hestia looked annoyed about the contents of the frieze; some of the Legends looked amused at the reactions even as others winced.
“Why is it always that one?” Demeter muttered, Hera nodded next to her “It’s not like there aren't other significant events why is our trauma the one consistently being brought up.” Poseidon snorted “What else would they bring up Ares getting captured by a pair of drag wearing Gigantes? The Orion incident?” Zeus snorted “We don’t talk about those incidents for a reason Brother or did you forget what happened last time?”
Hades chuckled “”Not having to deal with your children, brother, would be a blessing for our dear brother and his children i’m sure.” Poseidon and his present children sighed in exhaustion because of all the ‘requests’ they were fielding from the Olympian children of Zeus, Percy went on 25 fetch quests before Hera took him for her plan and Poseidon and the others, Despite being in the process of rebuilding Atlantis, were constantly having resources requested by Zeus’ children from the seas for the rebuilding of their temples and other details within their domains.
Zeus winced and gave them concerned glances, he knew his children were requesting exorbitant amounts from the seas but he had not realised quite how bad it had gotten. Atlantis was the strongest fortress of Olympus for a reason, its people could not count on the support of the Olympian council due to many of them lacking the ability to operate underwater, only Demeter could properly fight underwater other than Poseidon due to their time as rulers of the Pantheon, anyway Atlantis had been fortified to the point that if it came to it and it was completely cut off from Olympus like had happened during the Titanomachy it would be able to hold despite the limited Godly presence admittedly Poseidon was the best of them defensively due to his sheer durability but still.
Upon realising there wasn't going to be any more conversation Yveltal turned back to the book…
(‘Well’... ‘Kronos was the king God, and-)
“Oh come on Perseus” Percy leveled a deadpan look at Zeus for that one and hissed “Obviously I couldn't remember Uncle you know how children of my father are with relatively useless information.” His siblings nodded along; they had found similar issues with remembering perceived unimportant details until they were actually necessary. Zeus sighed but was internally laughing as even Poseidon’s children knew he couldn't remember little details unless they were significant to the problem at hand.
(God?’ … Titan I corrected myself… ‘... Tricked his Dad, into barfing up his brothers and sisters-’ ‘EEEW)
“Try living it” Hestia hissed her hair igniting. Even as Poseidon summoned a small torrent of water to put it out the non-greek non-kronide children goggled at the violent reaction from the usually placid hearth goddess.
The reaction of their fellows had the Greek Kronide children rolling in laughter; it seemed many of them had forgotten that even if they didn't show it as often the Female Kronides were just as if not more dangerous than their brothers.
(‘... Big fight, and the Gods won.’)
… Percy hid behind Thalia as every war related being in the room turned their gazes to him
“Percy… tell me you didn’t just sum up one of the biggest wars in history, a war so dangerous it literally reshaped an entire continent in 13 words.” The disappointment in Clarisse's voice caused Percy to look up and chuckle sheepishly.
“In my defense I didn't know that it was real at the time? Also why does it need a long winded explanation? I got the point across didn't I?” Annabeth snorted “Percy, love, you got the most basic points across, probably not what the teacher was searching for.”
Thalia snorted “Annie it's sixth grade not a doctorate he can't be expected to remember the entire event” she looked at Percy and upon seeing his annoyed expression questioned it “... right?” Percy snorted “Given I didn't get the answer fully right…. I don’t know Thals.”
Poseidon seemed to be annoyed by the answer but Yveltal continued before he could question his Son.
(... ‘Why Mr Jackson’... ‘I don’t know sir’... ‘Well Half-Credit Mr Jackson…’)
“Half-credit? how was he supposs-... That’s Chiron isn't it?” Percy snorted “How did you guess?” The sarcastic drawl caused Chiron to flinch which drew his siblings attention as they narrowed their eyes on the nervous Centaur.
Hestia debated questioning the demigods but decided against it, it was likely many of their grievances would appear later in the books, especially the ones around Chiron, discussing it with her siblings when they broke for the night was another option and one she would probably take advantage of. Though from the sounds of it the Trainer of Heroes would have a lot of explaining to do there had been a concerning dip in Demigods arriving at camp from what she had seen.
(Brunner took one last look at the stele, like he’d been at this girl’s funeral.)
“I had, I believe she was a child of Lady Demeter.” The goddess nodded “She was… She was killed by Hephaestus’ automatons when she approached one of his forges which he is still paying for.” The final words were snarled out at the Forge God who looked terrified of his aunt’s fury.
Poseidon and Hera levelled equally unimpressed looks at the forge god who despite their attempts had still ordered his creations to attack an innocent child because of his disagreements with Demeter on the matter of the nature around his forges.
Katie and Miranda simply sighed as they added another sibling to the tally of ‘murdered by a god because the second gen have inferiority complexes’, which caused the Other children to wince it should not be this easy for them to accept the death of another sibling and the Greek demi-Big Three levelled furious glares at the Forge God.
None of those reactions however compared to Heatran’s who rumbled forward the sheer heat radiating off his body forcing the mortals in the room to take a step back as his gravelly voice rang out with the force of a supereruption “You killed your cousin just for moving near one of your forges Boy? Is this what we have to look forward to from your siblings as well? Careless slaughter simply because you felt slighted?” Cresselia interrupted him “Heatran, brother please let us examine all their crimes before we pass judgement hmm?” The Lava-Dome pokemon snarled but complied with the barely hidden steel in the Lunar pokemon’s voice he wasn't about to try to fight the only non-major legend who could confidently take a Judgement to the face and keep going.
(...’Nah’… ‘I mean I'm not a genius’...)
“That much is obvious.” The scathing comment came from Octavian caused the Greeks to level him unimpressed looks as Clarisse snorted “Evidently you haven't battled under Prissy’s command stick-figure he isn't the strategist of our Camp he’s the Tactician he consistently outmaneuvers both The Ares and The Athena cabins in our capture the Flag war games.”
Lupa was the first Roman to react to that “Your telling me Mars sent a tactician who can apparently think circles around multiple cabins of War children off on a quest when a gigante was invading New Rome?” At the amused nods of the Greeks the Wolf Goddess whipped around to stare at the currently Greek war god “WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING YOU IMBECILE.”
Ares flickered for a moment before Mars emerged unamused Glare levelled at Lupa “The only information I had about the Brat came from my own Greek half who I will say Hates Jackson for some reason, as far as I knew he was just another reckless Neptune child who would have done more damage than good in preparing the city.”
Percy cackled at Mars’ explanation evidently amused by the War God’s attempt to make his removal from the camp valid which granted it was but he still could have given some basic ideas for the Cohorts to try. Even without his memories he was a decent enough Tactician before he gained the experience he had during the Second Titanomachy though he couldn't voice that to the Gods because of the apparent spoiler warning in place.
(...I tried to stay cool. … A wave roared in my ears.’
The Greeks turned to Thalia, Nico and Percy familiar enough with their fighting to know that one of them being angry enough to lose control was rather bad for everyone, not just whomever they were pissed at.
(Rain flashed from the clouds and the winds picked up before Nancy was swept up by a wave from the fountain she had stumbled up to under the increased winds...Percy pushed me… Dodds materialised next to us.)
Percy winced as the intensification of the weather was described he knew a couple of people nearby had been injured by some branches that had fallen from trees with the sudden increase in wind speed and Nancy had a nasty gash on her leg from the sharp inside of the fountain. It wasn't Lethal or anything but it reaffirmed his internal need to stay in control he couldn't risk losing it like he had in the Pit. Thalia and Nico might be able to take it but the others wouldn't be able to.
Poseidon kept a worried stare on his second Youngest he knew Percy feared losing control more than his other kids ever had likely because of Sally’s talent for Raising children who had a far more protective disposition that either He or Amphitrite had ever managed with their other Children except perhaps Rhode and Bentheskymene.
Zeus opened his mouth even as he saw Athena move to speak “I must commend you on your ability to stay calm Perseus if this is what you were capable of at Twelve it is a miracle Manhattan did not suffer more damage.”
Athena looked aghast at her father “But father he-.” Zeus turned to her “Athena, daughter Perseus has been nothing but loyal since he was brought into our world due to my own paranoid actions… It forced me to reevaluate how I deal with my siblings and their children if only to avoid another event like we are currently dealing with.” “HE is Dangerous though.” “So are Thalia your sister and so is Nico. What is your point Athena or are you yet again going after Poseidon for an event caused by Zeus and then follow up events YOU either caused or Overreacted to?” Hestia’s scathing words caused Athena to pale she did not want to fight her aunt despite her pride she knew she couldn’t battle any of her fathers siblings if they got serious even Poseidon and Demeter despite being the slowest of the Kronides could easily run circles around her in combat war domain or not.
(... ‘Now Honey’ ‘I know a month…’)
Travis sighed “Come on Aquaman surely you have better pranking sense than that you know you never guess your punishment.” Percy deadpanned at him as Yveltal continued.
(‘That wasn’t…)
Clarisse snorted “Obviously Prissy keeps pissing off the monster that's going to end brilliantly.”
The mentioned Demigod glared at Her “I didn’t Know La Rue how would I know what to say.”
Miranda answered him “Perc, cousin you’re a demigod you know how to deal with abrasive teachers.”
The Sea Prince pouted at them before resolutely turning back to Yveltal with a pleading gaze.
(‘...Was me’… ‘Ok Man…’ ‘Thanks for trying’)
Poseidon nodded at the Satyr as the demigods thumped him on the back they knew how scared Grover got at this point especially when confronted by more powerful monsters like this one likely was by the time of The Battle of Manhattan
(... Gave her my Deluxe, Ill-Kill-You-Later stare…)
… The Greeks looked scared as Clarisse asked Grover “Did she die on the spot like that dracaena did?” Zeus whipped to stare at her for a second before The Kronides turned sardonic gazes on Poseidon, Demeter and Amphitrite “Seriously, there is no way Thalia’s birth pissed the both of you off that much.” Zeus’ sentence drew sheepish glances from the two former rulers before something shifted in their aura’s they felt older, colder and far far more dangerous Poseidon’s eyes switched to a deep red mist with a sea green iris and Demeter’s became more like Gaea’s swirling green and browns as her hair became more akin to a field of wild grasses.
“Quite right Deus, Thalia’s birth wasn't the issue, it's the other one we have problems with. Your daughter’s birth was ordained by the weavers and Necessity herself. Jupiter's Son was born of a broken Oath, one you both agreed to alongside Pluton, Aides, Neptune and Poseidon.”
Jason looked confused “Why would they be annoyed at my birth? I fail to see how The Fates ordaining my sister’s birth changes my own.” Damate turned to him her eyes burning his soul as he flinched away “Have you perhaps become hard of hearing Son of Jupiter? My husband stated rather clearly that it was because you were born against an OATH BOY AGAINST THE WILL OF THE FATES AND ANANKE. AGAINST THE WILL OF KHAOS YOURE LUCKY YOU ONLY GOT MASSIVELY WEAKENED POWERS RATHER THAN ANYTHING ELSE. Do not presume to attempt to make your unordained birth irrelevant again, Demigod.” Zeus had stood up during the Agriculture goddesses rant his raised eyebrow at the Older deity did little to calm her ire before her husband and Amphitrite laid a hand on either of her shoulders as the Mycenaean Gods faded back to their Hellenic form
(How’d she get there so fast… I wasn’t so sure.”)
“Good Instincts.” Raikou nodded approvingly “We should test those later. Perhaps once this book is completed?”
Xerneas shook her head before Percy could respond “The kid is still suffering from power withdrawal he should not use any major amounts of power for at least 3 days even with our healing abilities me and Cresselia can’t completely heal the damage to Perseus’ powers because well too much power caused the damage in the first place adding more would only make it worse.” Raikou nodded.
“Perhaps you and your siblings versus Me,Thalia and Nico at the end of the Second book Lady Raikou?” Percy questioned even as he winced at the looks his cousins tossed his way they evidently weren't happy with being volunteered to fight Primordial level deities.
Before the Beast of Thunder could answer Percy, Yveltal continued, obviously annoyed at the interruptions from the glares he gave the rest of the room.
(...Big Marble frieze of the Greek Gods… weird noise in her throat like growling...Like she wanted to pulverize it)
The Gods tilted their heads in confusion while it wasn’t unlike a Terror to want to destroy them. But to do so when they were so obviously watching due to the events occurring at the time spoke of Godly protection. Nico’s eyes narrowed as he glanced at his Father who seemed to be rather paler than usual and was casting weary glances at Poseidon.
Percy looked entirely too amused at the reaction of Hades who had shot him a pleading glance which he ignored; he still hadn’t completely forgiven the god for taking his mother after all.
(Illegal stash… Make me read the book…)
“Come on, Percy, we all have ADHD and most of us didn’t cheat on an essay.” The admonishment, surprisingly, came from Nico. Will was nodding next to the Son of Hades, he knew Percy was smart enough not to have needed to cheat. Percy winced but nodded “Yeah I know and you're right usually I wouldn't have but I’m about 80% certain it was around that time that Dad and Uncle Z started fighting over the Bolt’s theft.”
Annabeth winced at that “Oh Gods, your patience must have been shot. There is no way you would be able to write an actually constructive essay with how linked to Lord Poseidon’s emotions you are.” Triton just looked amused he, Rhode and Benti were the only children of Poseidon who had anywhere near the patience for essays and paperwork though that did mean they lacked their Fathers instinctive grasp of Tactics and combat, They had got the more logistical nature from their Mother, not to say they were weak combatants just not quite as utterly terrifying on a battlefield as Kym and Percy and their other siblings, especially Herophile, prophecy was such a problem in combat, how were you supposed to fight someone who knew every move you made before you even made it.
Poseidon just looked sheepish at the Glare he received from Sally, she had not been happy when he told her about the prophecy after she got pregnant he still remembered the rant he got treated to while having his own Trident held prongs first to his balls. Apparently she wasn’t happy their son’s education was being affected by his emotional instability either.
(The weirdest thing happened… melted into leathery bat wings…)
There was silence for a moment as Poseidon, Amphitrite and Demeter turned towards Hades with fury in their eyes “You sent a fury after my son?” Poseidon growled the area around him trembling as the Legends also narrowed their eyes on the King of the Underworld.
Hades sputtered for a moment before squaring his shoulders “Alecto was to search for my helm. I knew she had set up shop at the school but I thought it was because she had scented my Helm on a student, not simply because she found a child of yours Po…”
The Sea God frowned. He was clearly still angry but the hand he had laid on Percy’s head was clearly calming him. “Even if she was not so ordered by you Brother this seems far too similar to the attack on Thalia… Are you certain you or your subordinates were not being influenced by Father from the Pit? Even if it was just to make you more likely to act rashly it could have significantly changed how the situation of the Symbol thefts was handled.”
The Kronides, Persephone and Aphrodite looked considering, Kronos being that powerful was worrying because it may be the beginning of a trend with their enemies having gained increased strength and while they Gods had not weakened per se they were certainly not at the level they once were they had not had to fight major battles for millennia and so had become rusty and the Second Generation, Persephone included, had never fought a significant battle against similarly or more powerful foes before the Titanomachy as demonstrated by how close many of Zeus’ children had come close to death when faced with Titans.
Sally paled at the knowledge that even with all her attempts a Monster had found her son. A choked scream left her throat as she dragged Percy against her side burying her face in his hair as tears ran from her eyes. All the suffering had been for nothing the abuse she had suffered and the hatred Percy had felt from that bastard Gabe hadn't actually affected the amount of Monsters that found her Son. Yveltal returned to reading after people had attempted to get Sally away from her Son so they could continue reading.
(Mrs Dodds lunged…)
Poseidon’s hand crushed the arm of the seat he was in
(My hands dipped into my pocket for the pen my Mother had said came from my father. I didn't know why but I pulled it out and it seemed to be whispering urging me to remove the cap out sprung a bronze blade time seemed to restart and My knees were jelly. My hands were shaking so bad I almost…)
“Steady now child steady.” Came the concerned voices of Tapu Koko, The Swords and Zacian Percy looked up, surprised as a vast majority of the Legends had been silent since the book started and Tapu Koko had only really acted to calm Athena and Ares.
Mew flopped down into Reuma’s lap as the little one stared with terrified eyes at Yveltal Percy had evidently kept her and the other younger campers away from a vast majority of the fighting given that Lacy was also looking rather terrified of the situation described in the book. So the small Pink Cat-like Legend decided to distract them with some judicious use of psychic comedy.
(… I did the only thing that came naturally…)
“Naturally?” Jason’s disbelief was palpable in his voice even with the stories the campers had told of Percy’s battles during the Greek side of the Titanomachy, his Roman leanings had said that there was no way the greek side of the war was that bad after all they seemed to be thriving in their camp.
Percy looked at him confused “Yeah…? We all have battle instincts Grace, why do you think most of us have ADHD?”
Jason scoffed, “That doesn't mean swinging a sword is natural, it takes years for someone to become truly proficient with a sword.”
The Greeks all levelled surprised looks at the Romans even Chiron was surprised at his words. “What the hell are you on about Grace? Sure it usually takes longer than it took Percy but it certainly doesn’t take more than a year for Greek Demigods at least to become decent enough with their chosen weapon hell Chase managed to learn proper spear combat in less than 4 months. My siblings tend to learn their weapons in around six months or less. Is it not like that for Romans?”
Reyna looked concerned “It usually takes most Roman legionnaires around two years to become proficient in their weapons though we do have a majority of Legacies I don’t actually know if the Demigod’s we do have learn their weapons quicker?”
Mars answered her from where Ares was but a moment ago “Usually we find that Demigods do learn their weapons quicker like the daughter of corpse breath and Frank they learned their weapons incredibly quickly as fast as Greek kids of Pops and my Uncles and Aunt back around what” here the roman looked at the Greek Kronides and Aphrodite “4000 years ago?”
Poseidon nodded “Somewhere around there yes nephew. Realistically it's also a matter of the age of your Godly blood Percy, Katie and Miranda learned particularly quickly because they are born of our Older forms not our Oldest but very close so Roman Demigods and legacies will Learn weapons incredibly slowly when compared to their greek counterparts somewhere around double as long just because of the lack of Age in Roman Ichor its an issue in the children of my kids along with my nieces and Nephews yes that includes Aphrodite’s kids she has been a part of the family since shortly before we were born Mother Adopted her.”
As the demigods nodded Yveltal interrupted “Can I continue this was a very important conversation but im sure you can hold it in a bit longer im almost done.
(The Metal blade… passed through her body like it was made of water…)
Hades gaped at Percy “One hit? you killed Alecto in ONE HIT?” He lowered his head into his hands as Persephone snickered, rubbing a hand on his arm, “It could be worse, Love, he could have beaten all of them singlehandedly. Hades gave her an absolutely horrified look as Zeus joined Poseidon in Glaring at him for sending his furies after their children.
While the ‘Big Three’ were having their little stand off Percy was getting awed looks from the Romans and backslaps from his cousins with Annabeth leaning her head on his shoulder and Sally beaming as her boy defeated one of the worst ‘common’ monsters in the Greek world with no training.
(... My lunch must have been contaminated…)
That brought everyone up short “...What” Annabeth asked as she pulled away from Percy “Why would you imme-” she suddenly snarled and whipped around to glare at Chiron the Spear Lady Hera had given her appearing in her hand “you misted him right after a monster attack?” her voice rang deafeningly in the silent room.
Poseidon spun from his glaring contest with his brothers at those words “YOU WHAT.” Chiron cowered away from the rage emanating from the group “I was trying to protect him if we could convince him it didn’t happen then his scent may have calm-.” “HE HAD ALREADY ACCESSED MY DOMAINS CHIRON.” Zeus was just as angry as his brother “CHIRON. YOU CAN’T PUT THAT GENIE BACK IN ITS BOTTLE AS YOU WELL KNOW.”
The only thing staying, the gods hands were their wives placing their hands on their arms as a calming action as the centaur cowered even further when he saw no support forthcoming except from the Second Gen Olympian Councillors.
The Legends were all furious at the centaurs actions Darkrai and Cresselia even more so too much mist manipulation could do significant damage to one's ability to see through it and it could also lead to severe mental disorders if done too often or for an extended period of time.
Thalia seemed like she was going to murder the centaur as she spoke “Ignoring all that you have to be relatively close to influence a Demigod’s mind meaning you let Percy take on a fury by himself.” Percy laughed sardonically “Really puts something that will come up later into context and it’s the reason why well… Spoilers.” The Elder Gods glanced at him before returning to glaring at the Trainer of Heroes as Yveltal continued.
(... ‘I hope Mrs Kerr whipped your butt’...)
“Who?” Thalia asked, evidently horribly confused. “Did… Did the mist just make a whole ass new person? I don’t think that’s even possible.”
“It is not for non-deities Thalia, Amanda Kerr is a legacy of Lord Hephaestus who I had on standby just in case.” Chiron’s answer caused Percy to gawk at him “Did she have a Job before you decided to requisition a random Legacy? Did she have to move? What about family or did you not even consider that she might have something else to do other than deal with you being unable to source an adult Satyr or something to work at the school?”
Chiron looked rather chastised by Percy’s words even as he turned back to Yveltal evidently content to ignore the problem as per usual, the Greeks glared at him evidently unhappy with his answer even as hephaestus simply glanced at the centaur once nodded and moved on.
(... He said ‘Who?’ … I thought he was messing with me)
Thalia Snarled “NOW YOUR GASLIGHTING HIM? WHAT THE HELL GROVER.” Said satyr didn’t look happy with his book counterpart's response either even if he knew why “I was just doing what Chiron told me to do Thalia or did you forget that I was expected to follow his every command because of my failure with getting you to camp?” The Daughter of Zeus scoffed “You didn’t fail Goat Boy, we should have known they were closer but that's on Luke’s inability to not fight everything, not your leading skills.” Annabeth nodded empathetically from next to her adopted older sister/mother figure “Thalia’s right Grover we all wanted to avoid at least six of the fights we got into with monsters, that is on Luke and me not you.”
(Thunder boomed overhead)
“Seriously brother?” Poseidon questioned his voice, sounding annoyed with a touch of exhaustion.
Zeus scoffed “I truly didn't know he was there Poseidon quite frankly that could just have easily been a bolt from your hurricane as it was from my storm or a natural one the storm generated by itself. It hardly matters anyway it didn’t hit Perseus or anyone else.” The Sea God looked like he wanted to argue that point but a sharp look from his wife and Hestia caused him to stop and leave Zeus with just a short nod.
((remember Sally and therefore Percy was given Anaklusmos early even if he didn’t exactly know that) …‘Sir where’s Mrs Dodds?’ ‘... Never been a Mrs Dodds… Feeling alright?’)
“Both of you. Both of you decided that gaslighting MY SON was a good idea we are lucky Poseidon gave me Anaklusmos to give him before he went to Nancy or he would have been dead if this is the kind of protection I can expect from the camp perhaps Poseidon overhyped it when explaining it to me, he already failed to give me a proper breakdown of the camps system of summer stays before Amphy told me about them once I… well I was informed later than I should have been at any rate.” Sally’s words were underpinned by a coldness few expected from the usually caring and bubbly mother, Percy however recognised it and simply gave her a cautious look before turning to face Yveltal who looked around “who wants to read next.” Tapu Lele immediately stuck up her hand “I will cousin” Yveltal floated the book over to her before sitting more comfortably on the floor of the Hall “let us continue then everyone.” (Three Old Ladies Knit The Socks Of Death)
Notes:
Right I know most people wont read this but to those that do this story is not going to have the best Update schedule unless it's a Non-reading chapter just because I have other Life things going on.
Second a lot of things will appear very different than in PJO don't be surprised by that I genuinely Dislike how Rick made a vast majority of his character also for the first few books there will be some pretty hard bashing of the younger Gods mainly because I see plenty of people making the Kronides apathetic an di wanted it to be the other way around because the younger gods are less experienced anyway I hope you enjoy and thank you to everyone who gave Kudos to the story and read it I cant believe this little thing I've made has already got over 1800 hits as of the publishing this chapter

Chapter Text
There was an almost audible creaking sound as Poseidon turned towards the Fates who had been silently watching the proceedings up to this point “What did I do that enraged you to the point you would take it out on my Son?” Clotho sneered at him “We do not have to explain ourselves to you Sea God your son needed to suffer that is all you need to know.” Poseidon snarled “And you have clearly forgotten that I held Prophecy before my Nephew and one of my Daughters has a claim to it still alongside my own abilities, Child of Nyx.”
Before the Fates could continue their argument with The King of the Seas, Celebi let out a Psychic bell tone “Perseus most certainly did not have to suffer Morai or did you forget that Dialga and I checked how your work damaged Time?” The Time Travel Pokemon Snarled “You dammed the rivers into a single strand you ROBBED everyone of agency… You robbed everyone of change, of hope” she sighed “did you truly believe that your type of control helped?” Atropos went to speak but Celebi raised an arm “When will you realise that Fate is not a set course? That one must make their own fate for it to mean anything otherwise it's not fate it is predestination, the difference is massive even though it may seem slight. One’s fate is something that will happen but they choose how or why predestination only occurs when higher powers stop choices being made by ‘lesser’ beings, you did not have that right. So do not ever claim the suffering these children went through was necessary, Morai, or you will deal with ME.”
The room was silent for a few moments following Celebi’s rant as everyone kept a close eye on the enraged Mythical before Dialga stepped from beside Arceus for the first time “Daughter enough, killing them helps no one and this certainly doesn't rest on their shoulders alone. The Primordials should have intervened earlier or at all now shall we begin reading or we’ll be here all Day.”
Tapu Lele squeaked as Dialga turned his attention to her before looking at the book (I was used to the occasional weird experience… This twenty-four/ Seven Hallucination was more than I could handle… Every so often I would spring a Mrs Dodds refrence on them… but they just looked at me like I was Psycho.)
A bolt of lightning crashed onto the floor next to Chiron who flinched away rapidly before swinging his head to Thalia, much to the centaur’s visible confusion she was just sitting there smug forcing him to move his gaze to the King of the Gods who eyes had shifted to glowing balls of electricity.
The centaur went to speak but was ignored as Zeus turned to Annabeth “Annabeth kindly keep track of the sins committed by Chiron my dear. I imagine this is going to be messy to deal with.”
The daughter of… Athena nodded before looking around “Err does anyone have some paper? and a pen?” Percy laughed softly as a root-bound notebook appeared in Annabeth’s lap and his dad went to summon a quill but before he could, Percy uncapped riptide and then capped it on the back of the handle before handing the pen form to Annabeth “I think Zoe would have far too much fun writing about The ‘Trainer of Heroes’ failings, Annie.”
Chiron flinched under the burning gazes of the Elder Gods and multiple Legendaries as he watched his ‘prised pupil’ begin writing down what would undoubtedly be a long list of his failings and quite possibly the death knell to his position at Camp Half-Blood, even if the children refused to call it such any more. In his head however he was furious that her relationship with Poseidon’s newest fool-child had turned her against him and her Mother, alongside Lord Zeus’ other children.
(Almost.)
“.... Gods damn it Grover.” Katie muttered causing the campers to cackle. “Hey, you don't know it was me, it could have been Amanda…” Grover protested and Thalia snorted in response “Goat boy you’re a great friend but a lousy liar it was definitely you.” The cackling grew as Tapu Lele continued.
(But Grover couldn’t fool me… I Knew he was lying)
“My dear Satyr, will we need to have yet another discussion about your inability to-” *hrk cough* Chiron cut off as roots surged around his front hooves and the air was drawn away from his next breath and the floor rumbled slightly “You have no right to speak to him about that Chiron.” Miranda growled at the centaur before Percy was given scathing looks by Xerneas and Cresselia as the roots wilted and the air returned around Chiron.
Shaymin and Tornadus gave Katie, Miranda and Thalia quelling looks before shaymin spoke “Please if you wish to attack someone challenge them to a duel, we have an Arena for when people inevitably become too high strung.” The last sentence was followed by a majority of the legends glaring at Rayquaza and Deoxys who blushed and turned away from each other in a huff.
Nico answered for the still angry Kronide Daughters “Of course Milord, Milady we will endeavour to keep ourselves contained in the future.”
Tornadus corrected him “We are not asking you to keep yourselves contained son of Hades and you need not be so formal we simply ask that you keep any attacks from actually impacting anyone as healing will delay the readings further.”
Nico nodded at the legends words but he and his cousins still kept their power contained causing the legends to sigh as Tapu Lele returned to reading.
(Visions… wake me up in a cold sweat)
Poseidon looked annoyed as he lowered his head into his hands, “Why is my kid getting continual nightmares? Wasn't the punishment on me enough for styx? Why do my children always get the worst lives? Seriously, what did I do to piss people off?” Zeus patted him on the back “You know as well as I brother that Lady Styx was kind to us both merely removing us from council sessions for four years instead of the usual eight thanks to Lady Ananke pleading our case to her. As for the continual terror invoked unto your children I do believe that is because one of your children insulted Lady Nyx and you know how she holds a grudge along with her children.” Normally this would have been comforting but the smirk on Hades and Zeus’ faces ruined it along with the slight giggling from their sisters and Amphitrite.
“Wow, thanks sibling no. 3400” Percy snarked “permanent bad luck is my favourite.” Kym snorted “5461 actually brother, though to be entirely fair to Lady Nyx, that sister was a little bitch who was far too spoiled by her Mother. She didn't even have the ability to generate a 15 ft tall wave; it was genuinely embarrassing.” Poseidon winced at Kym’s description even as his other children nodded.
“Kym, don’t insult your dead siblings, You are better than that.” Kym wilted at her mothers words causing her siblings to wince. The goddess of Violent Storm Waves was very under confident due to their parents inability to help her properly control her outbursts when she was younger and despite having them under control Kym had been destroyed mentally by her supposed banishment, Rhode gently grabbed her sister's forearm as Triton and Percy actually snarled at The elder sea gods, both of whom looked confused and a little annoyed by what they perceived as random disrespect.
(...I started feeling cranky and irritable most of the time. My grades slipped from Ds to Fs…)
Percy winced at the outraged gasps from Apollo and Athena, but before the two could say anything a female voice rang out “Percy gets badly affected by his Fathers moods; it's rather similar for all children of the Elder Gods, Percy just has a more pronounced reaction.”
The Demigods turned and froze as tears gathered in a few of their eyes. From the back of the room stepped two demigods one a Son of Hephaestus and the other a Daughter of Aphrodite. Clarisse was surprisingly the first to step forward, striding over to the two she stopped for a moment before crushing them both in a hug “You stupid bastards” She hissed lowly “why didn’t you run you damn smelting-bastard, and you could have out stubborned me dovewings what the fuck were you both thinking.” As she pulled away Silena patted her on the shoulder “I’ll explain Later ‘Risse it’s good to see that most of you survived though.” As the pair were dragged over Silena caught her mothers eye and mouthed later she couldn’t imagine the amount of guilt She and the Kronides had been feeling for asking her to feed Luke false information especially after she was caught and forced to give up actual information to the Titan king.
Turning back to the other Demigods, Silena was faced with someone she wasn’t excited about meeting again, Drew, She had left her little sister stuck as head of the cabin, something she never wanted, with the previous counsellor being an apparent traitor to the camp and then not even a year after the Battle of Manhattan ended Mclean showed up with her unnatural charmspeak and a complete disregard for camp and its rules forcing Drew to give up the counsellor position and putting the entire camp at further risk because of her stunt at Camp Jupiter.
Shaking her head Silena braced for her sisters fury, what she wasn't expecting was for the younger Demigod to latch on to her and start silently bawling, raising her head Silena locked eyes with Thalia who gave her a sad smile and a nod which she answered with a thankful if watery smile and sat with her little sister as Tapu Lele continued reading.
(...I snapped. I called him an old sot. I wasn't even sure what it meant, but it sounded good...)
Pollux snorted though it still sounded a bit wet “Dad I didn’t know you joined Chiron on a house visit.” The Wine God sighed deeply as he turned to his Son with exasperation “Really, child? Not every old drunk refers to me.” Though the words were sarcastic there was a small undertone of worry as his eyes ran over the Demigods.
(The evening before my final, I got so frustrated I threw the Cambridge Guide to Greek Mythology across my dorm room.)
Will and Annabeth gave Percy a displeased look even as he held his hands up in mock surrender “English is hard okay? I got mad and reacted, it's better than the pipes exploding isn’t it?”
Will and Annabeth nodded slowly despite their parents glares “I suppose…” Will said though he sounded sceptical of the reaction.
(I froze. I'm not usually an eavesdropper,)
Thalia coughed “Not an Eavesdropper riiiiight.” Half the Demigods gave Percy disgruntled glares, he scowled back “if you don’t want me to learn about it, don’t whisper it in easily accessible locations. Or you know, tell me the necessary information.” that got sheepish glances from many of the non-Legends in the room.
(The mythology book dropped out of my hand and hit the floor with a thud .)
“No mini percy what have you done!” The Stoll's cry caused Percy to put his head in his hands
“O, captain our captain we will have to teach you the ways of-.” Percy leveled them a look “You both know I’m fully capable of being stealthy. I was shocked by my only friend talking about me behind my back to a teacher.” That gave the Sons of Hemes pause as they nodded and settled themselves allowing Tapu Lele to continue.
(The lights went out in Mr. Brunner's office.)
….. The silence following that is deafening and Hestia’s deadpan breaking of it is damning “Chiron… HOW did you fail to sense him TWICE? I can understand the young Satyr, at least he was relying on Scent which was probably everywhere… But you are fully capable of sensing divinity. How did you miss him? He feels like a salt-based Tethys just without the immortality.”
Chiron gulped “W-well Lady Hestia i haven’t used that ability in quite a while so it may have been a bit rusty-.”
Dionysus snarled “Do not lie Chiron, I know you use it to sense if any of the children are attempting to leave the camp for anything from visits to parents to going to the Grocery Store if you can sense that you can sense a child of Uncle Poseidon and Aunt Amphitrite. You wanted him to hear that. Why?”
Chiron mumbled something but Mewtwo interrupted “He probably wanted to control all the information the young demigod received. It is familiar from my creators.” The snarl when the legend spoke of his creators was unmistakable in its demonstration of his rage at the fools even as Mew floated over to comfort the child she had been unknowingly given all those millenia ago.
(The next afternoon, as I was leaving the three-hour Latin exam,)
“THREE HOURS!” came the collective shout of the demigods many of them looking Pale and shaky evidently they couldn’t imagine being forced to sit still for that long without a break to work out some energy they turned to Percy and Silena spoke with Drew settled next to her “Did he at least let you out for a break during the Exam?”
Percy snorted “Sil, when have we ever been given breaks by Chiron?”
The lake spirits floated forward “What do you mean no breaks we checked over the camp schedule and it showed multiple breaks and a set of normal courses?” Arceus levelled his children an exasperated look which was duly ignored.
Percy looked confusedly at them “I thought those were only for year rounders? That's what he told us at counsellor meetings anyway. It Doesn’t matter anyway Chiron seems to believe that we only need to learn combat despite the fact that literally every other subject is just as important in modern times.”
Dionysus gave a severe glare to Chiron “I know I told you to ensure the campers had a balanced education Centaur the training regime was sent from the multiple Undersea Camp Leaders and Education Gods and mixed with the older camp traditions we will be discussing that later.”
(Mr. Brunner called me back inside. … "Percy," he said. "Don't be discouraged about leaving Yancy. It's . . . it's for the best." … "This isn't the right place for you. It was only a matter of time. ")
There was silence for a moment before a deadly whisper came from Sally who locked her eyes on Chiron “What did you say to my son?” It was said with the same calmness the Gods and Legends expected from beings of the Sea when they were apocalyptically furious, what was unexpected was her eyes turning a venomous purple causing the Centaur to flinch along with the Romans and the younger Greeks.
Sally stood slowly, her nails started glinting strangely and her hair took on a silky flowing nature. The Romans began scrambling to get out of the way as the enraged Mother marched at the ‘Trainer of Heroes’ before her arm was caught by surprisingly, Hestia, cool gentle flames licked at the forming feathers on Sally’s arms as The Goddess pulled her back towards her Husband and Son “Sally dear please calm down, killing him now will not help anyone” an Angry mixed Snarl and trill answered that “AND it will only force the legends to react.” That got through though it did little to calm the enraged woman down, her eyes locked onto the Goddess’ “HE-.” Paul stepped into Sally’s view “We know Sally but killing him now doesn't allow the Gods to appropriately punish him, Percy is fine, we both know Lord Poseidon has… well you know.” Sally growled again but it seemed less apocalyptic “FINE, but there will be a reckoning Chiron by me or another.” She whirled around and sat pulling Percy close to her, the new features staying visible despite the younger Demigods and the Romans discomfort.
Annabeth gave Sally a weary glance, her eyes tracing the black claws she was now sporting before shaking her head trying to banish the memories and ignoring Percy’s guilt-filled glance. They could talk about it tonight but right now she couldn’t afford to break down. Mespirit was desperately trying to get Annabeth’s attention along with Diancie but Darkrai and Chein-Pao were blocking their Psychic abilities while Munkidori and Fezzendipiti stopped the two from further interrupting the reading
Thalia, Hera and Amphitrite gave the couple concerned looks before turning back to the Tapu Lele and the book.
(The only person I dreaded saying good-bye to was Grover, but as it turned out, I didn't have to. He'd booked a ticket to Manhattan on the same Greyhound as I had, so there we were, together again, heading into the city.)
Katie smirked at Grover “Are all Satyr’s this bad at being subtle or is it just you, Grover?”
An offended bleat managed to break the tension that remained even, Sally giggled a bit at The satyr’s offence, though her claws did not disappear.
(Finally I couldn't stand it anymore. I said, "Looking for Kindly Ones?")
The room burst out laughing “Oh, thanks Percy, give a Goat a heart attack why don’t you.” came Grover’s sarcastic drawl.
Percy scoffed “Don’t talk about me behind my back and then you won’t have a heart attack will you?”
Grover nodded thoughtfully “True I guess that is on me. Still you could have been less blunt.”
Percy laughed and turned away, though he did send Grover some reassurance over their Empathy Link.
("Grover, you're a really, really bad liar.")
“All Satyrs are Poneglyph Johansson.” Dionysus said his amusement was obvious even as Grover glared at his best friend.
Grover let out a defiant bleat “I’ve gotten better.” Percy snorted quietly “Yep, mhm, absolutely so much better Grover.” Annabeth and Thalia were holding their stomachs in laughter as Grover kept his offended glare on them and Percy though he paused at Reuma’s confused look even as Tapu Lele continued.
(The card was in fancy script, which was murder on my dyslexic eyes,)
“Dionysus.” Zeus’ displeased voice caught all their attention. “That will be changed even if you need them to be fancy for sales that can be easily enchanted to ensure Demigods can read it, I expect it to be made so.”
The Wine God nodded “Of Course Father, I'll change it the moment we get back.”
Poseidon boomed from next to his brother “See that you do Nephew, it wouldn’t do for the children to die due to an inability to read some flimsy paper now would it?”
("Why would I need you?")
“Perseus Anemone Jackson.” Sally’s scolding voice rang out next to him “You should be more polite about it dear even if you were completely valid in your anger.”
Triton raised an eyebrow at the Mortal Mother of his Brother “Anemone?...”
Sally nodded “Anemone. I wanted him to have a Sea Creature or something associated with the sea in his name and well MIddle names tend to be something embarrassing to help stop children from misbehaving no?”
Shaymin gave her a bemused look “No? Middle names are just that, Mrs Blofis-Jackson.”
Sally frowned “Are you sure Milady? I’m certain that the parenting books said a middle name will embarrass your child if it is used in public.”
Shaymin nodded “I’m quite certain Ma’am, mine and ‘Tina’s kids didn’t behave well till I took them for sparing.”
Sally looked extremely sheepish. “I probably shouldn’t have trusted those parenting books. I’m so sorry son.”
Percy just nodded before turning away causing his mother to wince she knew she had failed her son but it wasn’t that bad right? She didn’t think she made too many mistakes like that… Right?
(I'd lost sleep worrying that he'd get beaten up next year without me. And here he was acting like he was the one who defended me.)
Annabeth didn’t look happy about that “Percy, you know you can’t afford to lose anymore sleep you barely get enough as is because of-.” She cut off and swung her gaze over to Ares pointedly.
Percy smiled at her softly “Wise Girl, this was years ago I’m fine. Promise.” Thalia frowned “What happened?”
Clarisse watched her warily “Don’t worry about it Thalia Prissy is fine just… Overprotective.”
Thalia frowned even as Percy glared at the Daughter of Ares “He fucked with one of MINE. Next time I won’t be so pleasant ‘Risse.”
Zeus snorted “He didn’t leave the infirmary for a week, nephew, if that was nice I don’t want to see angry.”
Apollo snorted “It was just mental trauma. He was fine and being a baby.” Dionysus gestured and flickering grape vines snapped into his brother's skin slightly “Don’t. try to make my domain out as Nothing again Phoebus you won’t like the consequences.” Zeus snapped his fingers and Wine appeared in Dionysus’ hand “Drink, Son we don’t want you fading on us.” Dionysus took a sip with a sheepish look on his face at his father’s subtle reprimand.
(On the other side, across four lanes of asphalt shimmering with afternoon heat, was an old-fashioned fruit stand.)
Dialga slammed a hoof into his forehead as his twin started sniggering. “I can’t believe you went for the mysterious fruit stand stick.”
The Morai looked insulted. “It is a perfectly reasonable disguise.”
Palkia kept sniggering “Yeah if you’re trying to get caught out.”
Arceus chuckled slightly at their children’s antics before rapping their hoof lightly on the floor dragging attention back to Lele.
(There were no customers, just three old ladies sitting in rocking chairs in the shade of a maple tree, knitting the biggest pair of socks I’d ever seen.)
Poseidon’s eyes narrowed “Maple… Aph isn’t that?” The Love Goddess let out a small snarl “Yes it is, why were you sitting under those specific trees Morai? A tree associated with Fear, war and Betrayal.” Percy scoffed “Dad, Aunt it was probably a sign of their plan for me, you know the constant suffering from hrk.” Percy coughed slightly “Shi-” he paused as his sisters and Annabeth glared at him while his Girlfriend covered his Niece's ears “I mean damn that feels bad.”
Amphitrite and Sally giggled slightly at the exchange as Triton and Poseidon gave Percy side-eyes “Hey” he scoffed at them “you two are just as whipped.” Both gods turned away as their respective wives looked at them amused.
“Back to the point” Aphrodite snarled though amusement danced in her eyes at the Sea family's fake squabbling, “why choose that specific tree, he’s not particularly susceptible to Ares’s sons.” The War God looked annoyed “I still don’t know why you don’t claim them as your own anymore ‘dite.” The Love Goddess snarled eyes flashing the bloody pink of a blood stained white shirt that had been washed too many times “My children should be capable enough to handle a Daughter of a second Generation Olympian no matter their power. No offense Claire dear.”
Clarisse smiled at the Goddess “None taken milady, you weren’t the only one who thought them pathetic.” Eyes turned to Percy who snorted “Wasn’t me, Muscle-head is just as ‘disrespectful’ as I can be.”
The Morai ducked their heads hoping to keep the last child of Ouranos’ attention off of them for the duration of this reading.
(The weirdest thing was, they seemed to be looking right at me )
Poseidon snarled “So you just chose him for Apollon’s precious Great Prophecy, didn’t even consider anyone else?”
Celebi interrupted him “No, Ananke actually did this one Percy is the prophecy child with the greatest number of successful timelines for that specific Prophecy sooooo.”
Poseidon nodded and settled back “Ah, I suppose that's fine then can’t exactly argue with Lady Destiny’s decisions.”
("Not funny, Percy. Not funny at all.")
Amphitrite shifted “He’s right sea star that isn’t funny.” Percy smiled at her sheepishly “I know that now Mama at the time I was unaware they were the fates I wasn’t aware till errr Two? Chapters after this maybe can’t really remember the little events that well.” Grover snorted “yeah me and Sally did not handle that well did we?”
(I could hear that snip across four lanes of traffic.)
Silence filled the hall as Yveltal turned, this was different than when even Celebi had been angry, a wave of midnight black flooded across the floor and a shimmering shadowy aura, that caused Nico, Hazel, their Godly siblings and Hades to gasp at the power surge it induced, settled over the room as Yveltal's form shimmered his feathers glinted with sky blue energy before it was overcome by the deep purple-blue-yellow mix of draconic energy “You three DARE to use MY domain to intimidate a child?” the blinding aura of Dragon energy faded leaving a hexapedic form with four blood red feathered wings a curved beak shaped face and a set of three burnished scorpion tails waving in the air a step forward brought the chill emanating from them closer to the demigods and caused Reuma to shake before a sharp hoof slam from his sister caused Yveltal to pause “BROTHER, CALM YOURSELF YOU WILL HARM THE CHILDREN IF YOU CONTINUE.” Yveltal paused his fury, dimming at the terrified looks on the children's faces, with a final hiss that they would discuss the Fates usage of his domain; later, he settled into his usual form and laid down behind his siblings.
(Once we got going, I started feeling feverish, as if I'd caught the flu.)
Herophile’s head tilted “Interesting…” Poseidon idly nodded next to her as he mulled over the words “Quite. Percy, son, have you ever experienced any kind of Deja vu while in a fight or something?” Percy raised a hand to run through his hair, the other gently settling on Reuma’s shoulder, as he thought "Maybe once or twice nothing terribly big though.” Poseidon hummed in acknowledgement as he and his Prophetic daughter shared a glance.
Triton nudged his sister and raised an eyebrow but she just waved him off evidently not willing to disclose the epiphany until she had more information, leaving her brother to huff and twist back around.
("Grover?" "Yeah?” "What are you not telling me?")
Thalia laughed and Nico muttered under his breath “Anything and Everything All of the time.” Grover glared at them for a moment before sighing “You still can’t hold a tune Di Angelo.”
Nico’s flabbergasted face caused the entire room to burst out laughing even Hades ignoring his son’s betrayed look with seemingly practiced ease.
(He closed his eyes and made a gesture with his fingers that might've been crossing himself, but it wasn't. It was something else, something almost—older.)
Zeus began muttering about Poseidon being “Irresponsible” and how “Him being so perceptive makes so much sense now” even as The King of The Seas smiled sheepishly at his siblings and pointedly ignored their annoyed glares.
One of the Younger kids from the Apollo Cabin tilted his head “Umm sir’s ma’ams Why is Mr Percy being able to notice that so annoying to you?” Hera turned and smiled kindly at the child “It simply means that Perseus is more powerful than we knew. We aren't really annoyed, simply concerned about how this will affect the future. Of both Olympus and Percy.” The Demigod nodded in understanding, despite his Father and the other Second Gen-Olympians scoffing.
("This is not happening, " Grover mumbled . He started chewing at his thumb ." I don't want this to be like the last time.")
Thalia and Annabeth glared at him “It was not your fault Goat boy.” The Daughter of Zeus snarled “I made my choice and if Castellan had got his bloodlust under control for five fu-” she looked at the kids quickly before continuing “damn minutes we would have made it.” Grover looked away before responding “Thalia, if I hadn’t led us near those dens then Luke wouldn’t have had the chance to-.” Percy interrupted him “Grover, you were basically untrained and a baby in Satyr terms, if Castellan was stupid enough to go after Monsters after time on the streets then that is most assuredly not your fault.” Annabeth nodded next to him. “Grover, I believed Luke was just being a good Demigod when I was younger, but having been on multiple Quests? Now I know he was being a dumbass.” The Satyr nodded but all three could tell he didn’t entirely believe them despite them telling him this since Thalia had been awakened from her stasis.
("Let me walk you home from the bus station. Promise me.)
Sally grimaced “He’s not going to keep that promise. It wouldn’t have been safe for you to come over either, Grover.” The Satyr frowned, “What do you mean?” Percy placed a hand on his shoulder “Ugliano wasn’t the only thing at that time Grov, Mom… wasn’t exactly earning money just from Sweet on America.” Grover looked confused along with everyone else but Percy waved a dismissal of the Topic “I’m sure it will come up in the next chapter.” Poseidon’s eyes narrowed on his former Lover and Son despite his wife’s amused look to Sally that was shared, they had gone on a couple of ‘Girls days’ without Poseidon knowing and they weren’t going for coffee or shopping as one would expect.
("Grover—that snipping of the yarn. Does that mean somebody is going to die?")
Thalia laughed slightly into the somber air “There’s the classic Percy Jackson perception.” her father scoffed fondly “It’s a trait Poseidon passes onto his children, Daughter, if it wasn’t for my brother noticing how Father’s curse was affecting me I probably would actually be an insanely paranoid bastard hiding himself in the sand for no reason other than Pride.” Poseidon nodded seriously “Instead of the maddening paranoia that he shows for reasons of ‘oh my me, people could be trying to overthrow us to return to the dark ages again’ you know like in the Master Bolt Theft.” Zeus groaned “Will you let that go I have apologised and more than paid for it.” Hades snorted “I doubt either of us will live it down for the next few hundred years Brother, you know how Poseidon gets when one of his and I quote ‘Precious babies’ gets out in danger, barring unforgivable instances obviously.” Poseidon grumbled at the cackling of his Siblings and Niblings even as he was glared at by his embarrassed children.
(He looked at me mournfully, like he was already picking the kind of flowers I'd like best on my coffin.)
Thalia laid her head in her hands “Of course Goat Boy that’s going to make him so much more likely to keep his promise, ‘looked at him mournfully’ what’s next you gonna start muttering about how it always happens around sixth grade or something?”
Grover blushed and looked away as Percy rolled onto his back with laughter despite his Parents and the Dream Duo’s concerned looks over his younger self repeated allusions to his own death.
Annabeth caught onto the pair's actions first and lightly smacked Grover over the head “What The Void, Grover, seriously and you lot say I was bad at comforting people.” Clarisse cackled next to her “You were bad Chase, Foster Motherhood has worked wonders on making you less ‘I am the Daughter Of Athena, Smartest of the Gods’.”
Annabeth flushed and glared at the Daughter of Ares but there was no heat behind it despite her sulfurous grumblings, Percy pulled her into a hug “She’s not wrong Wise Girl, you did give pretty bad entries to Me and Reuma.” They were all ignoring the fuming Sun God glaring at them though he restrained himself at the simmering gaze of Solgaleo and Ho-Oh.

Chapter Text
Kym narrowed her eyes at Annabeth and Percy, “What does she mean, foster Motherhood?” Percy raised an eyebrow back “I followed procedure as the Royal who found her, sister, and Annabeth volunteered to help as my best friend, if you have a problem with it take it out on the dips who thought it would be a good idea to smite anyone who had even a single relation to their child once said child died. Maybe then you could have been there.” Kym looked hurt for a moment before her expression grew literally stormy she was about to turn then a set of smaller tendrils mixed into her hair as her daughter hugged her leg, “Μην θυμώνεις, μαμά. Uncle ‘cy and Aunt Anne did really good, you should have seen him when we met.”
Thalia snorted “San fran wasn’t prepared for the Percynami II: Oceanic Boogaloo.” Percy rolled his eyes “It wasn’t that bad, the wave didn’t even breach the barriers Thals.” Benthesikyme scoffed “NOT THAT BAD? Me and Triton took weeks to get the surrounding coastline back on normal Wave patterns Brother. Why do you think I was there? I am the goddess of waves.” Percy grumbled before responding “I seem to remember my dearest mature Older sister cackling like a gremlin while drawing the tide back down, or am I misremembering?” A soft laugh came from Thalia, “You aren’t, dearest cousin, though Benti was doing it to keep the little one entertained as you pulled- Hrk.” She raised an eyebrow at Celebi “Really?” the little Onion-fairy thing giggled slightly “I am Mew’s apprentice Miss Grace we specialise in this kind of Gremlining.” The small Pink Cat snorted from where she was sitting next to her apparent Son (who was at least six times his Mother’s height but that's not terrifying. ignore Thalia quietly reaffirming her Asexuality and Hunters Oath.) “Yes, Yes Great niece you are a terrifying, feral, Time-Onion.” Celebi Squeaked turning an amusingly fluorescent Red.
“Please aunt don’t tease my daughter lest I have to unravel a timeweave blanket again to get her out.” Mew snorted at Dialga “Don’t get your hooves in a twist nephew. You’re as bad as Arceus.” Said Deity huffed at Mew who giggled before putting a sack that appeared from nowhere over their eyes.
Lele rolled her eyes before tossing the book at Calyrex who had been giggling silently the entire time.
(Grover Unexpectedly Loses His Pants)
“... Percy why?” The Sea Prince smiled sheepishly at the Lord of The Wild’s pleading “I wasn’t expecting these to be read out loud Grover, also you have to admit it was certainly an… inauspicious string of events.” The Satyr tilted his head “True, true. Flipping a car and being knocked unconscious? Less fun than I remember.” Annabeth’s eyes narrowed at them both “I get the feeling I’m going to get angry soon about you two not telling me sh-stuff.” Percy wrapped an arm around her waist “Probably, though we honestly just forgot, things moved really fast after this, it wasn't long before our quest.”
(Confession time: I ditched Grover as soon as we got to the bus terminal.)
“Percy!” he glanced at his Mom “give it a minute Mom it will make sense soon.”
(But Grover was freaking me out, looking at me like I was a dead man…)
Sally stopped and gave Grover a deadpan glare “I understand what you mean Percy, seriously Grover?” The Satyr snorted “I was panicking and definitely should not have been sent with Percy alone after my previous Keeper mission.” he raised his hand at the protests from Thalia and Annaebth “Even if it wasn’t my fault I was still too young and barely trained a more experienced Satyr should have been sent for you Thalia.”
Thalia paused before scowling “Maybe so goat boy, but that shouldn’t affect your mission with Percy…” Shaymin interrupted “Trauma can cause those connected to Plants and Nature’s powers to weaken Miss Grace, especially if it is a belief in their own failings. If young Mr Underwood had not gotten over his Trauma he likely would still suffer from weakness in his Magics.”
(A word about my mother, before you meet her.)
“A Saint”, “The Best”, “An Anchor.” Percy smiled at his friends answers but looked indefinitely amused at their opinions of his mother character knowing what would likely come soon.
(After he died, she was left with no money, no family, and no diploma.)
Thalia’s eyes narrowed “How did she stay stable then?” Sally opened her mouth but Percy put up his hand “It’ll come up in a second, Mom,” his eyes widened “Did you tell Dad and Amphy?” His mother’s eyes twinkled “Perhaps.”
Poseidon’s eyebrow raised as he looked at his wife, Amphitrite simply looked amused as she remembered a few nights she and Sally had their own dates without Poseidon thanks to a favour or two from Tethys.
(Obviously she wasn’t able to make ends meet through entirely legal means so… she became a Hired Gun one of the best in fact. Anyway, the only good break she ever got was meeting my dad and his wife.)
“Fucking. What?” Clarisse's statement was met with nods all throughout the room, Percy shrugged, “Mom had to make some choices Clarisse, why do you think she had a set of celestial bronze throwing knives?” The Daughter of War narrowed her eyes, “You’re telling me we didn’t have to hide our bloodlust this whole time?.” Sally giggled “You weren’t exactly subtle Clarisse dear. Not to me anyway.” Percy shrugged “Besides you aren’t blood thirsty ‘Risse we all have ways of getting rid of excess energy yours just happens to be a good fight.”
Poseidon was staring at Sally with a shocked look on his face. “Why didn’t you accept my offer, Sally? Especially if you were forced to do that.” Sally looked at him with narrowed eyes, “It wasn’t entirely about independence if that's what you are thinking, Amphy had talked about how protective certain Deities were over certain children of theirs, and like all powerful clear sighted mortals I had a little bit of future sight.” She sighed and looked away “When you made that offer I saw instantly what the consequences would be, an innocuous man watching Percy then disappearing and not three days later The Strix finding him… Triton would have arrived seconds too late to save his life and I would have been torn apart.” Poseidon’s eyes narrowed “Only One deity can command The Strix.” Sally nodded, “The Name-Stealer is not subtle in her hatred and a young forbidden Sea-Child would be a perfect target if she happened to find out about them.”
Fury rolled off of the Sea Deities before a crack got their attention, Kyogre was calmly watching the proceedings but had struck her fin with enough force to create sound “Your Fury is understandable but not here, not now, later it can be dealt with and there will be a reckoning.”
(took classes to get her high school diploma, and raised me on her own. )
Poseidon shifted guiltily “I-.” Percy cut him off “We know Dad, I just… Didn’t have the best opinion of either of you for a while.” Poseidon shook his head, “That is completely understandable Percy, if certain people wouldn’t get offended you both would have been safe in Atlantis.”
Zeus’ eyes narrowed “Who would have been offended… The Oath was made between Myself, You and Hades, Lady Styx already accepted that Destiny would likely intervene to force Demigods to be born…” Hades snorted “It could be any number of deities brother, many of your kids have grudges against Children of Poseidon or our brother in general.”
Zeus breathed deeply “We shall talk about that later as I imagine it will be… Loud.” Hera nodded next to him “Probably, husband, we all have experience with such things after all.” The grumpy looks she got from her siblings drew laughs from the children while the resident Kronide kids smirked at their parents.
(Hardly looking up, he said around his cigar, "So, you're home. "
"Where's my mom?"
"Working," he said. "You got any cash?")
The room dropped quiet as every deity stared at the book for a moment. Percy winced when His Godly parents turned to his Mom. Demeter was the first to speak “Sally. What?” The half-Terror looked at her cautiously before sighing, “I made too many enemies and Gabriel was the only option other than a slow and painful death, believe me if I hadn’t been an Imbecile about making sure I covered my tracks both mine and Percy’s lives would have been far better.”
Percy hummed, “It wasn’t that-.” Sally side-hugged him lightly “You absolutely weren’t as stealthy as you thought you were Percy, if I could have gotten away with killing him sooner I would have. Cheerfully.”
Triton’s eyes narrowed, “Why do I feel like I’m really not going to like what happens next?” Annabeth snarled, “Oh you won’t Lord Triton, I certainly didn’t.” Hades snapped his fingers like he had just figured something out, “So that’s why you came to visit the fields?” Annabeth cheerfully nodded, “Lady Tisiphone was incredibly informative.”
Malcolm frowned “Wait wait wait, Annie you can just go down to the Underworld?” His Sister scoffed “Sure, all three of us from the first quest can. It was the reward Lord Hades offered us for returning his Helm.” Grover and Percy shrugged at the incredulous looks they received.
(Whenever I was home , he expected me to provide his gambling funds. He called that our "guy secret." Meaning, if I told my mom, he would punch my lights out.)
The Legends and elder Olympians froze, “He would what?” Arceus’ mental speech was a near whisper though the bubbling on the edges of their form was rather worrying, Percy pulled himself from the memories to speak, “It didn’t matter he would have gone after Mom or that’s what he told me if I told her…” Percy sighed, “Not that that changed much.” Aphrodite and Hera snarled their essence flooding the area around them as they fought to control themselves; the other Elder deities were similar but The Big Three the most worrying.
The other Elder deities were all obvious in their fury, but the Male Kronides simply sat still, their faces stony. Around the room people froze as the scent of Ozone, Sea Salt and Rot steadily increased before a thunderous crash sounded from Overhead. Water spilled from cracks forming in the floors as the shadows spat out armoured Skeletons, Eyes flicked to the Three Brothers whose forms had devolved into writhing masses of their Primary Domains, Poseidon a bubbling mass of Boiling and freezing, deep black, sea Water, Zeus a Flickering wisp of Air surrounded by Storm clouds that smashed out clangs of Thunder and bars of lightning, Hades was the most Eldritch tendrils of Shadow and Bone writhed in his place with the sound of shrieks of the damned falling from the occasional Gap that formed.
A Gong sound blasted out as a hole opened in space the three Brothers forms locking onto the form that fell out, A fat Red faced man whose expression spoke of Anger then his eyes locked onto Percy and Sally. A sick smile covered his face as he opened his mouth, but before he could talk a figure appeared in front of him, a sea green Chiton studded with shells and wave patterns and Benthesikyme glared at him, “You Dared lay your hands on my brother Mortal. On the woman that in another timeline My Father and Mother’s would have taken as their wife.” Gabe Scoffed obviously too stupid to realise his predicament, “And what if I did you dumb Bitch, its just a woman and her stupid Retard Son my bosses wanted them watched cause the bitch stepped out of line an-.” He screamed as the blood in his left arm burst out of its veins, Annabeth spared a glance at Percy from her position in front of him but he just looked surprised, then her eyes fell on Poseidon who had gripped himself into a far more terrifying form than his usual one.
A crown of Bone jutted from his head, his eyes had changed from a calm sea green to a domineering black with flickering Greek fire for pupils, his skin had become scaled and his hair hung like limp seaweed on the beach. “You are a fool Gabriel Ugliano, not only laying hands on my son and former lover but insulting one of my Daughters? A Princess of Atlantis? That will be your final undoing Mortal.” Posedao’s voice echoed in the silence his appearance had created, “Oh yeah and who’s gonna do that Eh.” Gabe’s defiant speech only further enraged the God-King as his eyes blazed before the Mortal began Screaming again this time as he was eaten away to ash by the flames of the first Greek God-King.
Posedao turned to where his child and Sally were sitting walking over to them before laying his hand on their shoulders, “I will not say that We are okay with what you have both been through and done, however I do believe the harm that has come to you is more than enough punishment for a mistake many have made Sally. You could not have predicted those events and if the other route was as horrible as you say then We cannot fault you for your choice.”
The two younger kings had settled following Gabes… disappearance but Posedao decided to sit in his current form for a while as Calyrex continued.
("Fine, " I said. I dug a wad of dollars out of my pocket and threw the money on the table. " I hope you lose." "Your report card came, brain boy! " he shouted after me. "I wouldn't act so snooty!")
Annabeth choked, “Percy I-.” The son of Poseidon interrupted her with a peck on the cheek, “You’re fine Love it’s a term of endearment now and you already apologised for when it was an insult.”
(I felt like someone—something—was looking for me right now, maybe pounding its way up the stairs, growing long, horrible talons)
Glares were thrown Chiron’s way as Cresselia snarled, “The mind is fragile Centaur, your actions are evidently having consequences beyond your scope.” Chiron’s face paled slightly before he drew himself up, “No offence My Lady but I made the choice I thought best for the time any consequences are likely because Perseus is particularly susceptible to the mis-.” A pillar of moonlight slammed down in front of the centaur as for the first time Lunala spoke up, “Do not attempt to minimise my daughters statement Kheiron of Thessaly your foolish overconfidence wounded this young Demigod for at least the short term. We will continue reading to find the truth of any damage and you will be punished appropriately.”
(Her eyes sparkle and change color in the light. Her smile is as warm as a quilt. She's got a few gray streaks mixed in with her long brown hair, but I never think of her as old.)
Sally smiled lightly, but was interrupted by the voice of Ares, “Mamas boy.” Percy snarled at him with a smirk, “At least my mother could-.” Annabeth’s hand slapped over his mouth as she gave him a quelling look as Aphrodite glared Ares into submission. Thalia rolled her eyes, “Why do you always have to fight him Cousin?” Percy grumbled slightly, “It’ll come up in this book. My animosity is well deserved.”
Zeus sighed, “That may be Nephew but please try not to fight him inside the Hall. I am certain Lord Arceus does not wish to deal with the damage anymore than I would.” The creator snorted but didn’t speak their mind focused on keeping Their Children settled after the previous reveal about Gabriel.
("Oh , Percy." She hugged me tight. "I can't believe it. You've grown since Christmas!")
Travis spoke up from the side, “Why does every adult say that when they come home after not seeing you for a while?” Mew giggled lightly, “Because even if you don’t think you have grown Son of Hermes to your parents you have. So long as they care enough at least.”
Thalia blinked, “Wait wait.” She turned to Sally, “You…” The half siren rolled her eyes lightly, “You are still a child Thalia, Lieutenant of the Hunters or not, though if you do find my Mother kindly tell her I expect her to visit on Christmas.” Poseidon sighed, “Really Sally?” She shrugged at him, “I presume the literal Son of God over there was the reason for some of that Mythos existing.”
Ash blinked at being addressed for the first time then shrugged, “Probably I haven't exactly always been fully cognisant, In fact your kid landing on my hrk… Celebi I am going to fucking strangle you.” The Psychic type ducked behind her father as Ash glared at her.
Palkia broke up the brewing argument, “Alright enough Ash, Celebi maybe keep it to not choking people out next time niece.”
(My mom is the nicest lady in the world. She should've been married to a millionaire, not to some jerk like Gabe.)
Percy smiled, “An English teacher is good too.” Paul blushed slightly as his wife giggled. Posedao and Amphitrite smiled, Fate may have conspired to keep them from loving the half monster but that did not change their happiness that she found peace in Aphrodite’s domain. Demeter smiled softly
Aphrodite and Hera smiled at the couple they were relatively new in terms of relationships but both Goddesses could tell it was a strong marriage, much like the ones of the Kronide sons and their Wives, despite the big three’s dalliances Hera, Amphitrite and Persephone were well aware that their Husbands would come back to them… even if one of them was clear in her stance on most of her husband's demigods.
("What? " my mom asked. Her eyes tugged at my conscience, trying to pull out the secrets. "Did something scare you?)
Thalia grimaced, “You should have told her, we both know you can't really lie unless it’s life and death.” Percy rolled his eyes, “I can’t lie to you and Nico because you can just fully ignore the Sea Poker Face, Mom can’t.” Nico smirked at him, “So you’re saying you need to rely on a passive family trait to lie Cousin?”
Hades smirked at his son, “Of course he does Nico, his Father is much the same utterly pathetic at lying to his siblings.” Posedao eyed him, “Yes well at least I don't have an amazing talent for lying to myself, Aides.” The King of the Underworld blushed for a moment before raising a challenging eyebrow back, “No, just a talent for giving your children crippling self worth issues.” Then his face paled slightly.
Posedao froze for a moment before he seemed to collapse slightly, “Low blow brother.” Hades nodded remorsefully, “Heard it the moment I said it, I apologise brother.” Posedao nodded but still seemed to have lost some pomp from moments ago.
(I felt bad lying. I wanted to tell her about Mrs. Dodds and the three old ladies with the yarn, but I thought it would sound stupid.)
Sally sighed, “I understand I messed up majorly in your life Percy but please tell me next time… I… Almost losing you was horrifying and not knowing if you were alive while I was captured…” Percy smiled at her, “I understand Mom more than you know… when the camp got invaded Reuma went missing for like half a day and I damn near sunk the camp.” Clarisse snarled at him, “Damn near? Prissy you dropped the back half of the Ares and Apollo cabin in the water… It took weeks to repair.” Percy shrugged, “Still better than what Kym would have done if she found out her daughter died, and it got you moving didn’t it.” Apollo and Ares levelled glares at the Son of the sea god before they were warded off by his Siblings (And Libya’s) gazes.
Kym snorted, “You aren’t wrong I likely would have actually sunk the camp if you lost the Little one.” Reuma pouted at them both while the demigods and Sea Heirs chuckled.
(I couldn't believe it. My mom and I hadn't been to Montauk the last two summers, because Gabe said there wasn't enough money.)
The floor rumbled as surprisingly Groudon snarled when he saw the surprised looks he rolled his eyes, “They are fish face’s people, they need water. I might fight with my sister often but I'm not a monster.”
Rayquaza nodded from behind him, “He’s not wrong keeping those of the Oceans from them is basically attempted murder once they get their powers.” Sally gulped but a hand on her shoulder calmed her, “I asked Katie to take him down at least twice a week when she could that year Sally don’t worry.” Demeter assured her former lover.
Athena scowled at her aunt before turning to Zeus, “Father are you not going to say anything about the ancient laws?” Zeus gave her a surprised look, “Daughter, those laws say that you cannot actively interfere in your child’s life. Meaning that we have to stay away during their upbringing and on quests that does not mean we cannot visit them once they learn of their powers. My siblings and I do, due to the danger that untrained Demigods of ours bring.”
(I wanted to punch him, but I met my mom's eyes and I understood she was offering me a deal: be nice to Gabe for a little while. Just until she was ready to leave for Montauk. Then we would get out of here.)
Thalia’s eyes narrowed, “Why would?.. Wait he was-?” Percy cut her off, “Yes, I’m sure that realisation will come up later.” He leveled a burning glare at Gabe who had been resurrected again by Xerneas and was currently the victim of some rather vicious glares from the Legendaries.
Hera realised what her Step-daughter had moments later and snarled at the betrayer of her domain before collecting herself, she was Queen of Olympus and as much as she was softer on her Husband and siblings and the demigods it would not do to show weakness in front of The ever power-hungry Second Generation gods. Particularly the supposed Wisdom Goddess.
(Gabe softened a bit. "So this money for your trip... it comes out of your clothes budget, right?")
People turned to Aphrodite expecting her to be furious but she just calmly gazed back, some of her children gave her shocked looks but the Love goddess just rolled her eyes, “I may appreciate Beauty but clothes rarely have anything to do with that other than extenuating it I am more angry about the sheer lack of love in this household, I don’t doubt you tried Sally dear but fear seems to be the primary emotion.” Sally grimaced before sighing, “Indeed my lady… I- Percy and I spoke about this at length after the third Quest… we were planning to go for Therapy but well…” Hera gasped but an apology was curtailed by Sally and Percy staring her down, “It was my Son’s choice Lady Hera… he can actually think more than five seconds ahead unlike others here.”
("Not a scratch on this car, brain boy," he warned me as I loaded the last bag. "Not one little scratch.")
Percy and Sally shared a glance before the Sea Prince spoke, “Well… it wasn’t scratched in our defense.” Sally shook her head, “I don’t think he much cared Percy.” A dangerous look entered her son’s eyes for a moment before he snarled in Gabe's direction and the… thing flinched in agony.
A hand settled on Percy’s shoulder, “Enough my Son, the fool will feel our wrath eventually.” Percy turned to meet eyes with Posedao not flinching despite the hidden fury in the Ancient God-King’s gaze, “He will… Or whoever shields him from us will, Lord Father.” A realisation passed through the Old God as his Son’s skin glinted with a gold sheen barely contained by the child's exhaustion and Loyalty.
Zeus’ eyebrows rose as he stared at the child he could feel the domains that Poseidon’s latest child had claimed already, Loyalty, Poison and Heroes were each Powerful domains on their own but to see them in a half-ascended Mortal was impressive. He would have to plan for the Child's introduction to the Pantheon proper. Along with his wife's favourite he could sense the beginning of domains from her as well though she was far behind her partner in the process.
(I made the hand gesture I'd seen Grover make on the bus… The screen door slammed shut so hard it whacked him in the butt and sent him flying up the staircase as if he'd been shot from a cannon.)
Zeus rubbed a hand down his face as Artemis, Demeter, Shaymin, Virizion and Ogerpon turned their gazes towards Percy who seemed confused by the attention. Zeus spoke before the others could, “Nephew… have you ever performed other examples of Magic?” Percy shrugged, “I can’t remember Lord Uncle, I don’t think so?” Annabeth tilted her head thoughtfully, “Well you do have your natural Charisma. I assumed it was from your dad and now your Mom but if you were channeling Magic subconsciously…” Sally shook her head, “That isn’t how Siren Magic works Annabeth. It requires conscious use for us to use it to influence anyone.” Thalia frowned, “I thought it would act like Charmspeak. Are you saying it doesn’t?” Sally nodded, “The Powers of Terrors tend to be more instinctual so I knew how to use my magic since the day I was born… It is both a precaution and a natural defence Terrors don’t just hunt Demigods the- we often hunt each other as well.”
“Have you ever hunted a demigod?” Lou Ellen's voice came from the back of the demigods and Sally sighed, “For food? No. As part of my work… Well some Demigods, be they Greek or Banished Romans, fall afoul of the wrong people.” Reyna grimaced, “We did wonder where many of those banished legionaries disappeared to.” Sally shrugged, “I did what I had to do to survive, unfortunately that meant people died. At any rate Percy does have a slight instinct towards the use of magic but no more than any Big Three Child should I think.” Zeus nodded and settled back in his seat.
(...and most of the time the sea was too cold to swim in.)
Thalia sighed, “I bet you loved it anyway, Gods know how you sea people can stand that permanent Ice Bath.” Rhode cackled slightly, “It is because you aren’t connected to it cousin. For those who have their Domains in the seas it is pleasantly warm and protective, even when Lord Oceanus is arguing with Father the water is never aggressive… Or at least it wasn’t.” The sea deities grimaced in odd remembrance and Percy looked uncomfortable but they waved off the questioning stares and focused back on the book.
(I loved the place.)
Thalia smirked, “Knew it.” Percy rolled his eyes, “No one disagreed with you Thals.” Nico snickered next to him, “It’s almost like she needs the validation.” Katie giggled, “Yeah maybe if she didn’t only use a bow and arrow and near enough ignore her Powers then she might understand the love one can have for a parents domain.”
Thalia glared at her cousins before turning away in a huff, “At least I don’t spent half of the War meetings summoning Water, Bones, Flowers or the fucking essence of Winter.” Miranda shrugged, “Skill issue.” Clarisse cut in from the side, “Okay dumbasses, you’ve made your points now can we please get back to the matter at hand?” Annabeth patted her on the shoulder, “It’s alright Claire, we know the children need to blow off steam sometimes.” The indignant and amused looks she got brought laughter from the rest of the room.
(...Her eyes turned the color of the sea.)
The Demigods stared at the book for a moment before collectively smacking a hand into their foreheads, “How did we not realise she had some kind of non-Mortal heritage?” Travis muttered, “Well we had no reason to presume Monsters had kids with mortals.” Connor answered.
Percy shrugged, “Skill issue.” Thalia glared at him then Silena when she started giggling, “What’s up with you?” Silena shrugged, “Just remembering when he asked me and the other Charmspeakers for help with controlling his powers.”
Piper spoke up with a frown on her face, “Other charmspeakers? The only one when I arrived was Drew.” Silena eyed her disdainfully for a moment, “Of course there were more, you arrived right after a war, Mclean. Most of us died holding Manhattan and other key points in the mortal world. The Aphrodite cabin had the most casualties alongside the Hermes, Apollo and Ares cabins.” With that the older daughter of Aphrodite turned away, obviously done with the conversation.
(She did have a rebellious streak, like me.)
Annabeth sighed, “Percy Love you have an obedience streak.” Libya sighed from across the room, “All of them do Young One. The day that a sea-child obeys someone without reason is the day the world ends.” Triton huffed at her, “I obey perfectly well.” Posedao eyed him, “Triton, son, you charged Oceanus alone without any backup to buy time for your men to escape despite me telling you to retreat. That is literally the textbook definition of disobedience.” Athena scoffed, “As if you know what a textbook is Barnacle Beard.” The elder Gods again gave her exasperated looks at the fact she once again forgot Poseidon ran a kingdom basically unconnected to Olympus economically or socially and it was still prosperous.
(Eventually, I got up the nerve to ask about what was always on my mind whenever we came to Montauk—my father. Mom's eyes went all misty. I figured she would tell me the same things she always did, but I never got tired of hearing them.)
“None of us do.” Beckendorf murmured, “No one forgets the stories our parents tell us about Our Godly Parents.”
(...He would be so proud.)
Posedao nodded, “I am. A true Son of the Sea’s.” Percy gave him a grin before wincing in memory at what he had done to Ahklys.
(A dyslexic, hyperactive boy with a D+ report card, kicked out of school for the sixth time in six years.)
Amphitrite nodded, “A true Son of the Sea there is a reason Triton doesn’t do the Economy, or speeches… Or Laws.” Kym snorted, “If Triton touched an economy document he’d combust.” The Prince of the seas glared at his sister, “Yes well at least my tactics extend beyond, hit the target as hard as possible… and if that doesn’t work hit it harder.” Kym shrugged, “Yeah cause you’s a bitch.”
Rhode ran a hand down her face, “Enough both of you, just because you can take half our siblings in a fight Kymmy doesn’t mean you have to rub it in Triton’s face, he is plenty powerful and also does outrank you as direct Heir to Dad’s Throne.” Kym sighed, “Still can’t beat H tho, foresight is such bull in a fight.” Herophile smiled sweetly, “Skill issue Kym.” Aphrodite shook her head, “Daughter, stop bullying your siblings with foresight in combat.” Herophile shrugged, “If they stop challenging me to duels then I will, μαμά.”
(I felt angry at my father. Maybe it was stupid, but I resented him for going on that ocean voyage, for not having the guts to marry my mom. He'd left us, and now we were stuck with Smelly Gabe.)
Percy went to apologise but Posedao waved him off, “You need not apologise Perseus, we expected you to be angrier upon our first meeting given how your Mother was treated by the Pantheon.” His Brothers winced slightly before settling themselves; it was not a reprimand merely an acknowledgement of the damage done. Percy sighed, “I was still wrong though.”
Kym laughed, “Percy if misunderstandings were a reason for Father to be angry each of us would have been banished millennia ago.” She rolled her eyes as her Mother and Father flinched, “Enough it is hardly your fault a fool decided to make a powerplay and I fell for it.” Amphitrite winced, “Maybe not but not investigating it further is our fault, Daughter.” Kym shrugged, “Maybe but you know now and for now that is enough… besides I doubt the Mediterranean would be half as clean as it is if I was not there.”
("Because you don't want me around? " I regretted the words as soon as they were out.)
Thalia winced she was very familiar with that line of thought many Demigods were, “I can see where that came from to be honest, with no idea what was actually going on? That’s probably the line of thought most of us would take.” Will nodded, “Plenty of kids do even in our cabin and Dad is generally one of the better at choosing Mortal partners.” Clarisse grunted, “At least most of your cabin are relatively well off Solace, at least on the Mortal Parent side…” She turned to the Gods, “Is there a god of Therapy I can send a prayer to, you know aside from Mr.D?” Dionysus sighed, “Not really, I can maybe get one of my Older children to come pay a visit to camp once or twice a week however.”
(...some of which I’d tried to forget.)
“Repressing memories is unhealthy, Perseus.” Ash said cheerfully, he winced as Cresselia glared at him, “You hardly have any place to talk Uncle. or do I need to remind you of the Unova league incident?” Ash growled before subsiding, "I'll take your point Cress.”
(...the man only had one eye, right in the middle of his head.)
Amphitrite sighed, “I had wondered where Arthus went that day.” Posedao shrugged lightly, “He asked for the weekend off, not many Cyclopes actually use their Holiday days. Now if I asked him to check on my newest child while he was out in the open on his Holiday, well I can hardly be blamed for that now can I. It’s not like the other Gods with lesser entities don’t do the same.”
(My mom screamed when she came to pick me up and found me playing with a limp, scaly rope I'd somehow managed to strangle to death with my meaty toddler hands.)
Zeus raised an eyebrow, “Similar to Heracles. Impressive Nephew.” Percy Grimaced, “Thank you Lord Uncle, but please do not compare me to your Son again I wield the blade of Zoe Daughter of Pleione. It feels like a disgrace to her memory.” Zeus nodded in thought, “Understandable Perseus, though I am certain you are aware that the events Nightshade told you about are only her point of view and there are other mitigating factors.”
Percy nodded, “Of course Lord Uncle, My own fatal flaw however means that to accept a comparison to my Cousin would be a step fundamentally against myself as I am sure you understand.”
(... They told me that was a mistake. …)
Sally got some confused looks from the rest of the Hall, who then followed her gaze to Chiron. The centaur shivered under the questioning Gazes, “We knew he was a powerful Demigod, keeping him in the mortal world was an unconscionable risk.” Poseidon scoffed having shrunk back to his hellenic form after his fury waned, “You mean he wouldn’t hold certain Loyalty to camp and your Philosophies.” Chiron balked, “I am loyal to Olympus Lord Poseidon and-.” Hades cut across him, “As we will see in this book you are loyal to Olympus not the Gods as a whole.” The eyes of his siblings narrowed in confusion before they turned away to think on the matter more privately though the looks Hades received told him they would discuss it later.
(She turned toward the fire, and I knew from her expression that if I asked her any more questions she would start to cry.)
Sally winced at the looks she received, “As far as I knew nothing had happened, I didn’t want to think about camp… I think I put it well at the end of this book hopefully if not I’ll explain but to put it simply Camp Half-Blood represented me letting Percy go into a camp where he would likely be hated not only for his Father but if my heritage was found out what do you think would happen?” Clarisse Grunted, “Good point, Prissy didn’t have the best introduction… If we found out about his Monstrous heritage before the second summer he likely would have been killed.”
Poseidon growled lowly but the daughter of War simply shrugged, “I’m sorry Lord Poseidon but it is true. We were all trained to treat all monsters as threats up to and including Cyclopes. It took Tyson to teach us that wasn’t true.”
(That night I had a vivid dream.)
“Oh Wonderful, what was it this time? The end of the world, The death of Chaos?” Percy shrugged “nothing so obnoxious just the usual for kids of our parents, watch them well it’ll come up in a second.”
(I saw the eagle dive down, its beak aimed at the horse's wide eyes, and I screamed, No!)
Thalia sighed, “Oh for Gods’ sake. Please tell me they didn’t actually physically fight?” Percy shrugged and turned to the Olympians. Hestia ran a hand down her face with a look of utter exhaustion, “They fought for the entire day. Neither got actually wounded thank lord Arceus but it was still rather bloody.”
Hera glared at her brothers, “It didn’t help when the shadows started baiting them further and smacking Poseidon around.” Hades shrugged, “I may have been a little bit Absolutely furious and believed Poseidon stole my-.” His mouth kept moving but no sound came out, Dialga sighed in relief, “Thank you for being slightly restrained Celebi. And NO SPOILERS.”
(...But the ocean seemed to have forgotten.)
Triton gasped, “Mother, how could Lady Thallassa have forgotten.” Percy growled at him, “You aren’t funny Triton. you know what I meant.” His older brother nodded, “Indeed, I still can't believe she forgot the Mortal measuring times of Storms.”
Kym started giggling at the deadpan look on Percy’s face, “Well I don’t believe certain people can talk given how they use hurricanes in combat.” Percy glared at her before sighing, “Point taken Sister, point taken.”
(I stammered something about the old ladies at the fruit stand, and Mrs. Dodds, and my mom stared at me, her face deathly pale in the flashes of lightning.)
“I wonder why I paled, Perseus… Could it be because we now are under a time crunch while being chased by Gods knew what monsters? hmmmmmm, perhaps. Or maybe it’s because my son almost got murdered and didn’t tell me.” Sally muttered, Percy winced, “In my defense I thought it would sound insane.” Sally glared mildly at him, “Percy you are my Son. If you say you almost got murdered by a bat woman who looked like death warmed over then it either probably happened or was a nightmare of a traumatising event that happened.” Percy ducked his head slightly, “I didn’t want you to think I was being a baby.”
Sally’s eyes widened before she pulled her son close to her, “You listen and listen well Perseus Jackson, if you want to act like a child you have every right to, after all I and the world put you through Willingly or not you could have turned out worse than any ancient Hero and been reasonably justified. But you haven’t, No one least of all me, the woman who caused most of your early problems can blame you for that.” Percy looked at her worriedly, “Mom you didn-.” Sally raised her hand, “I did Percy, If I had done any number of other things you would have lived a better life. It is why I still insist on going to Therapy, I need to learn how to be a better parent, for you and any future kids I may have. You deserved a better Mother than me Percy. Fortunately you have got a million times better one in Lady Amphitirite.”
Percy watched her carefully for a minute before sighing, “Maybe you’re right. Maybe you could have been better, maybe you and Dad and μαμά could have made different decisions, but in the end I lived. I lived and while I haven’t always been happy, I’ve never felt Alone, or abandoned or forgotten like so many other Demigods.” Annabeth grabbed his shoulder, “Don’t try to push aside the wrongs done to you love. You have a right to be angry.” Percy smiled at her, “Maybe, but if I get too angry people will get hurt and I won’t accept that.”
Suicune cut in from the side where she and her siblings had been laying silent since their declaration of challenge, “If you wish to cut loose Perseus we would be more than willing to be the target of that, that goes for Mr Di Angelo and Miss Grace we can take it if that is your worry.” Percy looked surprised then joined his cousins with grateful smiles, “I’m sure we will appreciate it by the time the book is done.” The Aurora Pokemon nodded and went back to her silent vigil.
(Because where his feet should be, there were no feet. There were cloven hooves.)
Dionysus sighed, “I see you went for the subtle approach Underwood.” Grover blushed, “I didn’t exactly have much time Lord, the monster that was chasing me was literally on my hooves for a majority of the time.” The Wine God nodded thoughtfully, “Reasonable, it is unfortunate that the council of Cloven elders were arrogant fools at the time.” He ignored the growls from the demigods present at the mention of those old fools, he completely understood their rage, he contested their decision on the matter of Grover’s incapability by requesting they send out any satyr they thought would do better after being essentially smote after being chased by the Minotaur. But the Old Goats had simply ignored him to his ever increasing rage.
Poseidon stared for a moment before turning to Percy, “Son it seems we will need to have a talk this evening about your early life, not for any punishments to your Mother… Just so we know and maybe see about getting you an Atlantean therapist.” Percy reluctantly nodded, “Sure Dad, later though, Also Lord Arceus I would suggest we break for food after the next chapter it must be drawing close to Lunch by now.” The creator nodded thoughtfully, “Very well Perseus, I can understand the need what with many being younger Demigods here. We shall break for Lunch after the next chapter and return to reading after an hour. If you do not finish your food in that time please bring it with you.”
