Chapter Text
Another day began in Skyhold as the sound of birdsong roused Hawke from her sleep, the sight that met her upon waking was quite a welcome one indeed. Anders laid at her side, one arm loosely around her waist.
He looked so beautiful like this, his face at peace, hair fanning out on the pillow like a golden halo. The few months the couple had been at Skyhold had done him wonders. Without having to be constantly on the run he'd been able to care for himself properly. They both had. And now his hair was always soft from being washed regularly, the dark circles under his eyes no longer as deep as they had been. And his body had filled out nicely from eating three square meals a day.
Hawke couldn't resist the urge to trail a finger down from the center of his chest down to his navel, causing the mage to let out a sleepy groan. The simple touch already getting him excited, which made Hawke chuckle a bit at the affect she had on him.
She climbed on top of him, straddling his waist as she began to kiss him, slowly waking him up. His eyes fluttered open, smiling at the wonderful woman on top of him, "Good morning love". She smiles back, cupping his cheek, his stubble lightly tickling her palm, "Morning Anders. How do you feel?" "Pretty good, especially with the view". He smirked running his hands up and down Hawke's sides. She leaned down to get closer, "Oh I can tell, especially from this-". She rolled her hips then, making Anders moan, his dick now rising to full attention, brushing against Hawke's thigh.
Anders was always easy to rile up. His love for Hawke ran so deep that the simplest of touches could get him going. It's why the two elected to sleep naked when in a bed, another luxury they'd been able to indulge in now no longer on the run.
The couple kept kissing, tongues running over the other as Hawke kept grinding against him. She was already so wet and ready for him, making Anders whimper, "Please love.. Don't tease me.. I want to be inside you". Hearing him beg so prettily, how could she deny him. She took his cock into her hand, pumping it a few times before lining it up with her entrance and sinking down. Once flush with him, she braced her hands against his chest and began to ride him.
As she picked up the pace a bit, Anders hands gripped her hips to help bounce her on his cock, his own hips rising to meet her. The room quickly filling with the sounds of their moans and skin slapping against skin. She knew neither would last long like this, her nails lightly digging into Anders shoulders. With a few more thrusts she came with a cry of his name. Her arms getting a bit wobbly from the force of the orgasm as Anders pulled her right against his chest, thrusting harder and harder, his voice in her ears telling her just how much he loved her until he exploded into her.
They laid there panting for while after that, bodies covered in sweat. Anders carefully pulled out, kissing the along Hawke's hairline. "That was...", he chuckled breathlessly. Hawke smiled, "Yeah". They held each other for a bit more before helping each other get up, sharing a bath before getting dressed for the day.
There was a huge surge of activity in Skyhold suddenly. Soldiers running to positions, defenses being checked and rechecked again. It seemed as though Corypheus had finally made his move. Now he awaited at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, with a huge rift opened. Meanwhile what remained of his forces marched towards Skyhold. Jay and Eliza had no choice, they needed to go to the Temple to confront him once and for all, quickly gathering their companions and running out the gate. Varric waving a hasty goodbye to Hawke, "You stay safe you hear? When I get back we'll get in a game of Wicked Grace".
Everyone who remained prepared themselves as Cullen looked out at the marching army coming closer to their position. "How long before they get here?", Hawke asked. "Judging from their pace, I'd say they'll be at our gates in about half an hour. We are as prepared as we'll ever be, and yet..". His voice trailed off, the concern he had for Eliza clear on his face, "She will come back", Hawke assured him. He offered a small smile, "I know".
Corypheus' forces soon stormed the gates. The trebuchet's fired, crushing some of them under rocks, whilst a mixture of mages and archers fired from the battlements. It held the main force back for a while, but soon they breached the gate, clashing with the ground force.
Anders and Hawke stood back to back. The mage firing off spells with ease, focusing on crowd control, whilst Hawke used her shield to block any projectiles coming their way, cutting down enemies with her sword that dared get too close. Fighting in close quarters with Anders like this brought back memories of Kirkwall, how they had to stand in such close ranks with their allies during the battle with Meredith.
Before she could reminisce further however, some Red Templar Terrors took the field. Remnants of those that had been with Samson no doubt. With them on the attack, things got much harder. And quicker than Hawke could react, one sent a path of spikes towards her and Anders. The force sending her off balance long enough for the creature to make contact, slashing her middle, as she took a knee in pain, her hand shooting at the wound to stem the bleeding.
The moment Anders noticed what happened, the air grew thick. The slight metallic smell that came from his magic got stronger as he began to glow blue. Hawke knew at once what was happening as the voice of Justice bellowed, "YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HER AGAIN!". In a flash, Justice struck down the creature before charging towards the bulk of the enemies, the fury of the spirit clearing a path through any that dared oppose him.
Thankfully, their allies had the sense to get out of his way as he did this. When Justice came out, he was deadly. His mind could so easily become more like Vengeance that there were times he was unable to discern between what was a threat and what was not. The incident that happened with the mage girl at Kirkwall was proof enough of that. He'd been so convinced she was with the Templars that he almost killed her had it not been for Hawke talking him down.
As the dust settled, the remains of Corypheus' forces laid dead, Anders body covered in blood and grime, Justice still clearly in control. Despite the pain, Hawke got to her feet, approaching him carefully. "Hey... It's over". The eyes of Justice snapped to hers, grip on Anders staff tightening as he slowly raised it towards her, "YOU WOULD STAND IN MY WAY? IT IS NOT OVER! NOT UNTIL THEY'RE ALL GONE!". Hawke took a step closer, her voice level and calm, "Justice it's me. It's Hawke. I'm alright. You can stop now". She kept getting closer, the spirit getting more agitated, "NO! DON'T GET CLOSER! THIS IS A TRICK! I WON'T ALLOW YOU TO FOOL ME!!". He attempted to strike with the staff, but Hawke caught his wrist in her hand, gripping it firmly. She gently cupped his cheek, Justice's eyes softening ever so slightly, "It's really me. Please, give me Anders back now".
There was a pause, Justice visually mulling it over before the staff clanked to the ground, his glow fading as Anders came back. "Love?". Hawke nodded, fully cupping his head in her hands now, knowing how much of a toll it takes on Anders when Justice took control. Anders own hands covered hers, his eyes watering, "It.. It's been so long since Justice took over... I-I almost.. Hawke I could have-" "But you didn't", she interrupted, "And you never will". He leaned his forehead against hers for a moment before his eyes glanced at the bleeding wound, "You're still hurt... Come on, I'll fix you up".
Before Hawke could argue, Anders picked her up into his arms, carrying her back to their room.
In their room Anders got to work, removing the top parts of Hawke's armor and undershirt. The wound she'd got was thankfully not too deep, as he gently cleaned the area before using his magic to heal her. Hawke sighed in contentment at the sensation, having always enjoyed how Anders magic felt against her skin. Once he was done he gave her a small smile, "All done. Thankfully you didn't get hit in any of your vital areas, though it's going to leave a scar". Hawke shrugged, "I've had worse. Remember how I was after the duel with the Arishok?" "Don't remind me", Anders sighed, his mind flashing back to Hawke that day. Half dead and clothes soaked in her own blood. It had took every bit of magic Anders had to bring her back from the brink that day.
The feeling of Hawkes hand on his brought him back to reality, "I'm still here, you're still here". They sat there for a bit when the cheers of those outside caught their attention. Looking out the window, Jay, Eliza and their allies had come back. All showing wear and tear from a great battle as Jay announced, "Corypheus is dead! He shall be a threat no longer!". There was a road of applause from the crowd as Anders and Hawke looked to each other with relieved smiles. The battle was finally over.
