Chapter Text
Ah, my dear esteemed benefactor...
My proud, beautiful flower of evil.
You are truly the fairest one of all.
O magic mirror, thy wisdom I entreat...
Reveal unto me the visage I seek...

Estelle: 💭What's that noise?💭
A weird noise had woken Estelle from her sleep. She could tell she was in some kind of box that honestly felt like a coffin. How does she know what being in a coffin feels like? Well, that's a story for another day.
???(Grim): I better hurry up and find that uniform before someone spots me... Urgggh... This lid weighs a ton! Try this on for size! Mya-ha!
The moment the lid of the coffin had lit up in blue flames, Estelle had used her quick reflexes to kick the lid off.
???(Grim): What?! You ain't supposed to be awake!
It was then that Estelle had come face to face with a strange cat-like creature.
Estelle: Is that so? I have to say, it's been a long time since I've seen a talking cat.
Grim: How... How DARE YOU! I am no CAT! I'm Grim, sorcerer extraordinaire! Tch. Whatever. You...human! Just gimme your uniform, and be quick about it! 'Cause if you don't...you're gonna regret it!
Estelle then took notice of the outfit she was wearing. It was definitely not her night gown and honestly looked somewhat cult-like.
An idea then came to the raven haired female. If she could get the creature to follow her, she could deal with him without possibly destroying the building she was in. After all, she wasn't that reckless. Estelle was quick to get on her feet and she was off.
Grim: Hey, come on! I'm on a tight schedule here!
The game of cat and mouse kept going for a few more minutes until Estelle came to a stop in the library. Before she could turn around and start running again, there was the creature.
Grim: Foolish human! Did you really think you could slip away from ME?
Estelle could only sigh in disappointment at what she was about to do. She wasn't going to kill him, but she was going to fight him. She would've preferred to handle this outside, but it seems she might end up making quite a mess considering this creature seemed somewhat powerful and reckless, which meant there was going to be a big mess she'll most likely be the one to have to clean up. How unfortunate.
Grim: Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take off that-
Before he could finish, he was hit with something that seemed to be a whip by a mysterious man in a bird mask.
Grim: Me-YEOW! That hurt! What gives?
???(Crowley): Consider it tough love.
The mysterious man then turned his attention to Estelle.
???(Crowley): Ah, I've found you at last. Splendid. I trust you're one of this year's new students?
Estelle: It would appear so, sir.
???(Crowley): My, were you ever eager to make your debut. And bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? That is a clear violation of the school's rules.
Grim: As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now lemme go!
Estelle: Sir, I am not aware of the school rules here. And Grim here isn't-
???(Crowley): Yes, yes. Rebellious familiars always say that. Do be quiet for a bit, won't you?
The man had then placed his hands over Grim's mouth.
Grim: Mmmrph!
???(Crowley): I'll let this slide just this once as you don't know the rules yet. I have to say, it really intrigues me that you're the first to open their own gate and step through it. No matter. Your orientation has already begun. Let us return to the Mirror Chamber.
Estelle: Very well then. However, I must ask you two things, sir. Where exactly am I? And who are you?
???(Crowley): Hm? Have you not fully regained consciousness? The timespace teleportation must have addled your memories... Well, these things happen, I suppose. I shall explain it to you while we walk. Truly, my magnanimity is boundless.
Estelle slightly deadpanned upon hearing that last part, but decided to just ignore it.
-🌟-
The two, er three if you count the cat-like monster, had entered the courtyard going back to where Estelle woke up, which was the mirror chamber.
Crowley: *Ahem* This is Night Raven College. It is an institution for students the world over who demonstrate a rare aptitude for magic. It is the most prestigious academy of its sort in all of Twisted Wonderland. And I am Dire Crowley. Having been entrusted with its care by the chairman, I serve as headmage.
Estelle: An academy for magic huh? I haven't seen something similar to this since...*Mutters*
Crowley was only half listening to her and didn't catch the last part.
Crowley: Only those who the Dark Mirror perceives as having a talent for magic are admitted to the college. Those who are selected are summoned to the campus through those "gates," which can appear anywhere. A black carriage bearing one such gate should have come to meet you.
Estelle: Yes, I do remember that now that I think about it.
Crowley: That black carriage serves to receive a student chosen by the Dark Mirror. It too bears a gate that connects to this campus. And as you know, sending a carriage to meet someone on a special day is a time-honored tradition.
Estelle: *Muttering* Kind of a weird tradition, but intriguing none-the-less.
Grim: Mmfff! Mmmmmmfff!
Crowley: Now, let us attend to your orientation.
Estelle: Very well then, Headmage.
