Chapter Text
New Black or White Champion
Male Division
A black and white trophy is gently set upon the highest shelf on the bookshelf. The girl was on her tip toes as she gently moved to a position she was satisfied with, using her finger tips to nudge it into place. Her hand gently knocking over the photo that was right beside it. A small ‘oh’ escaped her lips as she heard the small clasp of the photo frame falling fast first onto the shelf, and she quickly adjusted the framed photo. The picture of 7 men, smiling, caught mid laugh, some even crying, surrounding their center, who held the same trophy that was just placed.
“Aya-Chan!”
“Ah- coming nii-chan!” She responded quickly after being called. She maneuvered over the many boxes in the common area as she ran over to the door of the living room and opened it wide to allow one of the movers and the tall high schooler to move the second half of the couch in.
“Thank you again for helping. But you know you don’t have to worry about the heavy lifting.” The mover reminded as they carried the heavy couch to sit across from the other half of the couch, mimicking the old setup of their old housing. After the two gently set the couch down, the high schooler shook his head, clapping his hands as if he was removing dust from it.
“The sooner we move everything in, the sooner we can go out and eat. Boss said we can have yakiniku afterwards!” The teen raved in excitement. “We’re finally gonna get to celebrate everything!” He cheered, which in return received a giggle from Aya.
“Sounds like you guys have a lot to celebrate tonight.” The mover noted since not only the high schooler but all the men seemed eager to finally be settled into the new house. The high schooler nodded eagerly as he watched the mover making his way out to the front again.
“The question is what aren’t we celebrating?” A short adult can be seen walking into the common room, carrying a fairly large box labeled kitchen. He made his way to the kitchen portion of the common room and placed the box on the kitchen island. Not far behind him was a slender blond foreigner, carrying a much smaller box compared to the short adult before him. He set it right beside his and opened it to see that it was all their mugs.
“Oh! Where do we even begin?” The blonde exclaimed as he began to place the mugs on the island, receiving a ‘really’ look from the short man beside him. Out of all things to unpack, the cups? “Our big win, the new house, new trainee, new roommate, oh so many things!” He squealed in excitement as he held a bright blue mug decorated with four-leaf clovers. The other man couldn’t help but also be excited, so he let out a small chuckle.
“Don’t forget it’s also Ichi’s birthday celebration.” A man with glasses reminded, crouched down in front of the open fridge. Beside him was a case of drinks, which he took the responsibility of unloading into the fridge for the adults in the house but he also considered this as essentials in the fridge so he had something nice and cold to look forward to after tonight.
“I would never forget that! How could I ever forget our dear friend and our dear producer’s day of birth?” The blond exclaimed.
“I mean, you forgot mine the first year.”
“I did not!” The blonde gasped as he was offended that he thought such a thing. “It was in fact Tsunashi-shi who forgot that Valentine's Day was your birthday, Yamato!” He reminded. He stuck his hand out and pointed at it. “I even made sure to write all our birthdays down on his hand so he never forgets!”
“Was that really necessary?” Yamato asked as he raised an eyebrow.
“Yes.”
“Sorry that it’s being celebrated with so many other things, Iori.” A white haired man apologized as he and another man walked into the common area. The two could hear the commotion from the other rooms, where they had finished placing some of their own belongings in their respective rooms.
“I don’t mind. It just so happens to fall on the same day as my birthday.” Iori assured the white haired adult as they walked over to the kitchen island. He raised an eyebrow seeing that the first thing being unboxed, but decided not to comment on it. “We tried to arrange everything before January 25th, but this day was the only one available for the movers and that worked within our own schedule.” He added.
“And our old place was getting swarmed with fans.” The smaller adult added with a sigh as he took the unboxed mugs to the sink for a quick rinse. He set the mugs inside the sink and tossed the drying towel on top of Yamato’s head. “Here you can dry.” He said with a grin. Yamato got up from his crouch, adjusting his glasses before shutting the door to the fridge. “So we had to get out of there quick.” He continued before giving a look over at the blond foreigner. “We have to make sure to give our thanks to Seto later, Nagi.” He urged before directing his attention to the mugs.
“Why of course! Later tonight we can see if he’s available.” Nagi responded happily as he set the empty to the side. He helped carry the remaining cups over to the sink. “This could give you a chance to finally test out that Northmarean that I’ve been teaching you Mitsuki.”
“I only know a couple of phrases; I highly doubt we can hold a conversation.” Mitsuki reminded, flicking drops of water at Nagi with his hands. Nagi blinked, feeling the water droplets hit his face. Mitsuki smiled up at him which Nagi returned with his own smile. “But it be good practice.” Yamato could be heard making a small gagging noise. Which in return got Mitsuki to flick water at him too.
“Hey!”
“Focus on drying.” Mitsuki urged as he stuck his tongue out.
“Nagi also taught me some things!” The tall high schooler perked up from behind the couch. “I’ve also been studying really hard in English class.” He boasted proudly as he puffed out his chest.
“That’s wonderful Tamaki-kun,” the white haired man praised as he clapped his hands hearing his partner’s accomplishments, “sounds like you’ll end this school year with good marks.”
“So-chan praised me.” Tamaki said to himself proudly, loving it whenever his partner praised him. This made Aya chuckle at their interaction. This grabbed Tamaki’s attention, which made him smile brightly at his younger sister. He extended one of his arms and pulled her into a one-arm hug. “but I also gotta give Aya-chan some credit for teaching me too.” Tamaki praised as Aya’s cheeks flushed pink, hearing the praise from her older brother. Now it was Sougo’s turn to watch the pair interact and smile. Just a year ago he wouldn’t have thought a site like this was possible.
Iori took notice of everyone in the common area, taking note of who was present. He raised an eyebrow as he instantly noticed that they were missing someone. “Where is Nanase-san?” He asked all of a sudden. In response he only received shrugs and shakes of heads from his group mates except one.
“He said he wanted to help with the moving process and grabbed some boxes to take.” Sougo answered which led to Iori sighing in annoyance.
“We had discussed that he was not to help with the move, what if he overdoes it and gets an attack for overexerting himself?” Iori reminded the group, his tone coming off a bit annoyed that he had to repeat himself once again. But the members knew that it came from a place of concern for their redheaded center.
“A couple of boxes isn’t gonna hurt anyone.” Mitsuki assured trying to ease his younger brother's worry. He and the other two who dried the mugs were taking them to the island and placing them on the middle.
“It may hurt him nii-san.” Iori responded.
“Ichi has little faith in Riku.” Yamato teased as he watched a figure slip in right behind everyone carrying a fairly big box. The figure was too focused on the box in hand to even make a comment about his group mate's lack of faith.
“I don’t want anything to happen to our center. What if he pulled a muscle? Or breaks something-“
A small thud was made in the corner of the common room which grabbed the attention of everyone in the room. A man with red hair had crouched down to the floor to try to gently place the box down. With his now free arm, he used his forearm to wiped the sweat off his forehead. A small wheeze can be heard, as he refused to sit around and not help, but not loud enough for it to cause concern to anyone in the room. He stood up straight, turning to the rest of his group mates. He gave them a huge grin before announcing, “That was the last box!” to the group. “We are officially moved in!” Their center exclaimed. Cheers could be heard coming from the men and the lady of the house. Iori stared at their center letting out a small sigh of relief to see him fine. He allowed himself to smile as this moment was worth celebrating. He joined in the group's cheers as well.
The cheering could be heard from outside, where a blonde lady was dealing with the four movers who her company had hired to help move their idols to a new home. She handed them the remainder of the payment that was left to the one in charge before the two exchanged bows, one thanking for their patronage and the other thanking them for their service. She walked into the house, seeing the hallway that had a few boxes scattered across the floor. She noted that there was 6 doors, with three of them being bedrooms. She mentally noted that the other five rooms must be up the stairs that were at the end of the hallway. That means the other three doors were dedicated to the washroom and toilet, while the last door with all the cheering must be coming from the common room/kitchen. She opened the door, hearing clearly the excited cheers from her precious idols. Her seven idols and Aya were all holding their own cups, each of them filled with what seems to be apple juice, due to the alcohol not being chilled enough to serve. They all gathered around the kitchen island, as it seems like they were about to give a toast, excited to start a new chapter in their new home.
“Ah manager's here!” Riku was the first to take notice of Tsumugi, who was happily watching from the door frame. She blinked hearing Riku call out, which now had 8 different pairs of eyes staring at her.
“Perfect timing.” Yamato noted as everyone was beckoning her to come over. Tsumugi made her way over and noticed that there was an extra cup on the table filled with juice. “We didn’t forget about you.” He assured as Tsumugi took the cup in her hand. She looked over at the idols, each one of them smiling at her. “Now we can start the pre-celebration,” Yamato said as everyone grabbed the mugs with one hand and held it up. He looked over at everyone before his eyes landed on Aya. “Aya, would you do the honors?” He asked suddenly.
Aya was caught by surprise to hear that Yamato wanted her, the youngest and newest roommate mate to lead the toast. “A-Ah Yamato-san are you sure?”
“Yeah why not?” Yamato asked as he smiled gently at her. “You’re the newest member of the family, so have the honors.” He urged. “Plus onii-san can’t handle the embarrassment if I say something embarrassing.”
“Old man, you can’t just dump task onto other people.” Mitsuki scolded.
“Ah, so you figured it out?” Yamato snickered.
Aya held her cup gently between her two hands as she pondered on what to say. These last year and a half has been a wild ride for not only IDOLiSH7 but herself. From finding her brother, to losing Kujo as her legal guardian, which also meant losing Tenn as a brother, to her many, many love confessions being rejected, to being readopted. She didn’t know what to address first.
She took a deep breath and raised her mug up high in the center. “To family!” She exclaimed. Short and simple.
Tamaki grinned at the simple toast and raised his own mug. The other members gave each other a quick glance before all followed suit and raised their mugs.
“Cheers!!!”
