The bunker was unusually quite.
For the first time in the past 6 months there were no brothers causing mayhem or bickering, no Clay crying to his sad books, no John telling one of his many stories from being in the Neverglades, and no Floyd humming a song every 5 minutes. Bruce was with his family at Vacay Island and wouldn’t be here till tomorrow, Clay was spending the night at Viva’s pod, and John Dory an Floyd were camping out in the forest with Rhonda.
Which meant tonight, Branch and Poppy would have the entire bunker to themselves.
Poppy flopped dramatically onto the couch with a sigh, her pink hair spilling across the cushions.
“I still can’t believe it. An actual night alone! Do you know how rare that is?” Poppy sighed, closing her eyes for a quick moment as she took in the rare silence.
Branch smirked, leaning his crossed arms forwards to rest upon the structure of the couch, staring down at the Queen.
“Trust me, I know. But it is pretty funny to see you, the Queen of loud and crazy, enjoying some peace” He laughed at his own antics as he watched Poppy open her eyes to look up at him, shaking her head playfully.
She giggled, then reached out a hand.
“Well, Mister Grouchy, are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come sit with me?”
Branch rolled his eyes but gave in, sliding onto the couch beside her as Poppy rose from her laid position, leaning her head against his shoulder.
They sat together in silence for a few minutes, taking in each others scents as they tangled their hair together. Poppy rested her paw atop of Branches chest as he returned the favour by wrapping his arm around her shoulder, pulling her in, tight and secure.
“Not so bad to just.. relax, huh?” Poppy spoke softly, her voice ringing beautifully in Branches ears.
Branch gave a small huff before a grin grew across his face, looking down at the pink troll.
“Relaxing has never really been our thing”
Poppy tilted her head up, eyes sparkling.
“But being together is”
Branches ears flushed into a warm red as Poppy cupped his cheek and planted a kiss on his tender lips.
What started as soft and sweet quickly deepened, Branch’s arm slowly drifting down to wrap around her waist, shifting the female even closer.
The bunker was quiet, the couch was soft, and—for once—no one was barging in. The world outside didn’t matter. It was just them.
Poppy pulled the dulled troll down on top of her as she laid back on the couch, resting her head gracefully on a pillow, their laughter muffled between kisses as they did. Poppy kicked her legs playfully, nearly knocking one of Branch’s throw pillows off the couch. He barely noticed, too busy running his fingers through her hair as her hands clasped around his neck.
The sound of their passion quickly filled the bunker, blocking out the world around them. Because in this moment, none of it mattered. The only thing that truly mattered was them, and their undeniable love for one another.
Before their kiss deepened any further, the two pulled apart, locking their glossy gaze on the other.
“This is nice,” Poppy whispered breathlessly.
“Yeah,” Branch admitted, pressing his forehead against hers.
“Better than nice.”
Their session continued as they pressed their lips together again, more eager than before. Gentle moans could be heard as the heat around and inside them intensified, growing hungry for the others touch.
Branch planted one paw on the arm rest behind Poppys head as the other drifted mindlessly to the hem of her dress, pushing it up as his eager paw made its way up past the material, finally resting itself on Poppy’s thigh, squeezing it tenderly as he did so.
Poppy’s hips buckled up into the feel of his warm paw against her fur, craving the sensation of his rough yet reassuring hold, one she could never imagine leaving. Her paws glided from his neck to his chest, slow and deliberate. His vest acted as a momentary barrier before she slipped it off his shoulders, placing it on the floor with as much care as she could muster in the moment.
Branch complied with her bold yet accepted move, a low growl escaping him as her paws resumed back on his chest.
He moved his hand once again from its position under her knitted dress, resuming his previous hold on its hem as he pushed it upwards, exposing her silks, bowed and pink.
The troll beneath him broke away from the kiss as a sensual gasp escaped her, heart racing - not in fear - but excitement, anticipation.
Branch cracked open his eyes, now filled with undoubtable desire, looking at the equally flustered and eager Queen beneath him.
Poppy’s lips curved into a smile, unlike the bubbly one she naturally portrayed, this was one only Branch had the privilege of seeing.
“I’ve missed this” Branch huffed, catching his breath as he brought his hand up to caress Poppy’s glittered cheek.
“Me too” Was all Poppy could muster before she decided to resume where they had left off, smashing her now swollen lips to his, causing a surprised grunt from Branch.
They continued, melting into each others touch, both their paws exploring the others body. Branch left marks along the pink trolls neck, dark and purple, earning a meaningful hair tug or nails passionately squeezed into his fur from Poppy.
As Branch pushed more of his weight onto the troll under his grounding hold, attempting to deepen the kiss either further, Poppy wrapping her legs around his waist as a way to pull him closer, thrusting her bottom half upwards, they couldn’t feel more at peace.
They couldn’t wait for the night that was to come, well.. more like that night that was going to make them cu-
“Yo Bitty B! You down he- oh..” Is all John Dory could say before him, and the three trolls behind him lowered into last level of the bunker, calling out to Branch before being met with the scene before them.
The brothers stopped dead in their tracks, all chatter coming to a quick halt as they caught Poppy and Branch, in a tangled mess on the couch.
Their hair was frizzled and puffed as it intertwined with the others, Branches vest discarded on the floor beside them, Poppy underneath him, her legs wrapped tightly around his waist as they hungrily devoured one another.
Branch and Poppy - at hearing the noise - both ripped away from each other, staring in the direction of the lift before freezing. The pair quickly recollected themselves as they tried to scoot as far away from the other as possible.
Poppy quickly shoved down her dress, adjusting her sleeves to sit right on her shoulders, while Branch quickly covered his chest with a pillow that laid innocently beside him.
“W-what are you guys doing here?! None of you were meant to be back until tomorrow!!” Branch blurted, ears down turned as red coated his face from the embarrassment.
“Well.. we all heard Bruce got here early so decided to just call it a night and head back here” John coughed, still taking in the scene in front of him.
Branch then turned his attention to Bruce, who was standing there cross armed with a wide, smirk on his face.
“Ohh-ho-ho! sorry bro, didn’t mean to interrupt your play time” Bruce chuckled, amused with the fact his little brother was truly becoming an adult.
“But really? The couch?” He then raised an eyebrow, unimpressed yet still smirking at the pair.
Branches frown couldn’t get any lower than it was, nor could his face get any redder. To say he was embarrassed was an understatement, mortified is more fitting,
Poppy on the other hand, had her face hidden in her knees, clasping her ears as they burnt hot with the same mortified feeling Branch portrayed.
Neither of the two could speak, everytime Branch tried to respond, only a squeak made its way out.
Floyd - being him self - took the silence as an opportunity as he gasped dramatically, clutching his “pearls” as he threw a paw to his forehead.
“My innocent eyes! Someone catch me before I faint” He then promptly threw himself against Clay, pretending to pass out as he closed his eyes.
Clay cackled, catching Floyd with ease in his arms.
“Didn’t know you had the guts to get it up, B!” Clay continued to laugh before it settled down into a quiet chuckle, whipping a fake tear from his eye.
John Dory stood beside the group, had his paws on his hips with a massive, goofy smile plastered on his face.
“Think we’ve got a new heartthrob, eh, Bruce?” He said as he nudged purple haired troll beside him, earning a snicker.
“Alright, enough!” Branch finally managed to yell, causing all four of his brothers to bring their attention back to him.
Branch bought one of his paws to his face, sliding it down as he groaned, squeezing the pillow against his chest with the other.
“This is so humiliating” Branch huffed under his breath, looking at Poppy who had now taken her face out from its hiding spot in her knees, and turned her attention to him.
Poppy took this as a small signal, nodding her head in understanding before turning towards the four trolls, face still flushed.
“Look, Branch and I were just.. having a little, uh, personal time” Poppy stuttered, swinging her legs out so they rested off the couch, smoothing out her dress.
“On the couch” Muttered Bruce, to his siblings with a small grin.
“Like Branch said before, we just didn’t think you guys would be here!” Poppy admitted softly, leaning forwards to gently retrieve Branches vest on the floor, handing it to said troll.
Branch happily took the vest back, whispering a small thank you under his breath before quickly slipping the clothing on over his shoulders, resting the pillow he previously held back on the couch beside him.
The group of trolls had migrated towards the pair, stopping short near the couch.
As they walked towards the couch, Clay elbowed Floyd, who was now walking instead of resting dramatically in Clay’s arms.
“Looks like our little Branch is finally growing up, huh?”
“Growing up? I’m 24!” Branch Sputtered.
The brothers couldn’t help but laugh, causing Branches face to fall, unimpressed.
Bruce chuckled, shaking his head.
“Don’t worry, kid. We’ll give you your… privacy. Just maybe stick to your room next time instead of the living room.”
This earned another course of blushed embarrassment from the two trolls on the couch, darting their eyes to one another.
“Or at least lock the bunker” Floyd added, fanning himself with his paw.
“Save us all from the trauma” Floyd stated in a mocking tone.
Branch was quick to once again place his paws on his face, hiding away from his brothers laughing gaze.
Poppy, however, was giggling now, unable to hold it in, reaching a paw out to take hold of one of Branches, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“Honestly, this isn’t that bad. I mean, at least they know now, right? Maybe they’ll give you - or us - more privacy” Poppy explained in a hushed tone, scotching herself closer to the dull troll.
Branch peaked from behind his other paw before letting it drop beside him.
“Poppy, they caught us making out, that’s still pretty bad”
“And you lived,” Poppy teased, poking his side.
Branch couldn’t help but roll his eyes in amusement.
John Dory clapped Branch on the shoulder as he passed behind the couch, heading toward the kitchen.
“Relax, Branch. We’re just happy you’ve got someone who makes you happy”
Once again, Branch was stunned, unable to think of a reply.
The others followed John Dory into the kitchen, still laughing and throwing teases over their shoulders.
As their voices faded, Poppy leaned against Branch again, smirking.
“Told you it wasn’t so bad.”
Branch groaned once more, however couldn’t hide the smirk growing on his face as he leaned into Poppy’s touch.
“..I’m never living this down”
Poppy kissed his cheek.
“Nope” She replied, popping the ‘p’ at the end.
