Chapter Text
Jungha is pretty sure she’s dying. The searing, burning pain licks its way to her core and her eyes clench shut in search of relief. Her arms shake from where her palms are pressed and driven into the ground, holding her up.
“Come on ladies, let’s go! Don’t make this longer than it has to be.”
The words of Coach Lee are enough to make Jungha grit her teeth and push her body into five more pushups in quick succession, before collapsing onto the floor in a pile of limbs. Rolling onto her back, she heaves with exhaustion, oversized t-shirt rucked up and showing off her slim waist and washboard abs that are taut and glistening with exertion. Wispy curls of her dark hair stick to her face and Jungha tucks them out of the way as she watches her teammates finish their pushups. Next to her, Jimin slowly lowers herself to the ground once again, glancing over and seeing Jungha already finished. She pouts with each breath that escapes her glossy lips.
“Damn Jungha, couldn’t go any faster?” She whines in frustration. At her quip, Jimin’s girlfriend and self-proclaimed soulmate - evil twin as Jungha often said - Taehee, manages a grin.
“Yeah you’re really making us look bad here,” Taehee adds with a strained laugh. At the completion of her final pushup she too falls to the floor in a heap, though with extra care not to squish her elaborate zig-zag hairdo. She reaches out with a toned arm towards Jimin, loosely waving her hand in an attempt to fan her.
“C’mon babe, almost there,” she says, before fanning herself. It does little but toss her bracelets around with a glittery clink. “God it’s hot in here.”
“Seriously,” Jungha agrees, deciding to ditch her shirt altogether. She peels it off with a grunt. “Isn’t September supposed to not be hot?”
It really was hot in the university basketball court. The massive space was admittedly old and without any recent updates, including any temperature control. Which meant that on an unusually warm day in early September, the court felt more like a sauna.
“Ugh, finally!” Jimin exclaims at the last of her pushups. Lying on her stomach, she props herself up on her elbows with an almighty exhale. “Coach really needs to like, chillax with all the drills and shit,” she says, her lips scrunched up in her signature Park Jimin pucker as she inspects her acrylics. “I almost broke a nail, like, damn.”
Even as the first to finish every exercise, Jungha was inclined to agree. It was the first time in several years that their university’s basketball team had a group of girls as good as they did, but Coach Lee was just a bit too enthusiastic about it all. Their new Assistant Coach Choi wasn’t any better, simply following Coach Lee around like an overeager puppy and parroting her every word. Jimin and Taehee swore up and down that it was because they had a thing going on. Jungha wasn’t really sure whether to believe it. In any case, there was no one to stop Coach Lee from insisting on a ridiculous pre-season practice regime, turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the groans, complaints, and suffering of the team. Some real bullshit, if you asked Jungha.
For all their protests, the girls were truly quite talented. On the court was one of the only places that Taehee let herself get down and messy. Her long, lithe frame was light and fast across the floor, zipping by anyone attempting to block her, with her normally flawless updo transformed completely into a frizzy mess. Jimin, on the other hand, would never sink so low as to let a single strand of hair out of place. Her makeup was always perfect, but then again so were her shoulder checks. Oh, and she never missed a shot, long nails and all.
Jungha was a little disillusioned with her own abilities. She had just joined the team last year as a freshman, having utterly demolished her competition in try-outs. Despite landing a spot immediately on the varsity team, Jungha had approached Coach Lee out of nowhere with a timid apology and conviction to work harder and do better. It was baffling, really, that someone so ruthlessly confident with the basketball in their hands could dissolve into a gooey mess of uncertainty and puppy eyes. Admired for her borderline workaholic tendencies, the entire team adored her and all her painful shyness, with Jimin and Taehee rushing to unofficially-officially adopt her. While being dragged into their shenanigans did somewhat boost her outward confidence, Jungha remained mostly reserved, usually trying to pass it off for some kind of cool-looking stoicism.
Jungha was sure there was no way she was looking cool now, when she was actively dying from the insane temperature in the room. She was trying and ultimately failing to roll the waistband of her shorts down, wriggling on the floor and eliciting a look from Jimin. Taehee let out a snort.
“Pretty sure this isn’t the best place to masturbate, Jungha. Unless you got a thing for exhibitionism?” Taehee says. And while Jimin loved to judge, she was also always one to hop on the tease Jungha train.
“Maybe bunny wants us to join, huh?” Jimin purrs, rolling over on her back to get closer. Taehee hummed gleefully, reaching out and sticking her yucky, sweaty hands all over Jungha suggestively. Jungha lets out a squawk of embarrassment, shaking her head rigorously in denial.
“N-No no! Guys chill, guys I don’t wanna- don’t wanna a threeway with you, gross!” She laughed as she struggled against their crawling hands, no stranger to their handsiness.
“But don’t you loooove us?” Jimin croons, enough to make Taehee cackle with mirth. Jungha squirms.
“Fuck no! Not right now I don't," she declares.
“Jungha doesn’t find me smexy anymore! I’m hurt,” Jimin wails, throwing herself dramatically across the other two.
“Park! Kim! Jeon! Quit messing around!” Coach Lee hollers. The team collectively rolls their eyes, used to at least five verbal spankings of ‘the three musketeers’ per practice.
“Yeah, shut up and listen, you three,” Assistant Coach Choi follows up with. Taehee mimics her voice in an overdone sing-song tone under her breath and Jimin has to bury her face in her hands to hold the giggles in. When Coach Lee whips her head back around to stare them down, Jungha steps in front of Jimin to hide her and grins innocently back at Coach. She squints at them for a moment before returning to addressing the group.
Barking out orders for a new set of drills, the entire team lets out a chorus of groans and immediately makes their grievances known.
“But Coach, you said that was the last set! Some of us have families to get home to, ya know-”
“Like hell you do, you just want extra time for that fuckbuddy dude of yours-”
“Coach it’s literally a million degrees in here, you can’t be serious-”
“It’s September, like how prepared for this season are we trying to be? Overkill much?”
“It’s Friday too, can we just not-”
Coach Lee tears a hand through her hair aggressively, each comment wearing her down all the more. It was so hot in the gym.
“Fine!” She lets out a final, frustrated sigh. “But I expect you all to stretch and condition properly this weekend-” The team is leaving before she can even finish her sentence, at a pace that would put their speed drills to shame. Throwing up her hands, she lets it happen, runs her hands through her hair again and massages her temples.
“If they don’t do well this season I’m going to double it next year,” she mutters. Assistant Coach Choi nods like a bobble head next to her. Jungha and the girls have long since been out the door.
Thank god the girl’s locker room was cooler than the gym. A shower was doing Jungha wonders and someone is actively singing a pretty spot-on rendition of an Alicia Keys song. Swaying along to the melody, she shakes out her long, dark hair with a towel. Unlike Taehee or Jimin, Jungha rarely did her hair, figuring straight and long would always be in fashion. Of course she tied it up for basketball, but that was nothing fancy. Squinting in the fogged-up mirror of the bathroom, Jungha thought it looked kind of nice half-wet in clumps. That was a trend right now, right?
“Ya know one of these days you gotta let us dye it,” Taehee says, appearing out of nowhere. She gently hip-checks Jungha and begins to meticulously part her hair into her former zig-zag style in the mirror. Taehee kept her natural dark brown locks as is, but had taken a leaf out of Kelly Clarkson’s book and added white-blonde chunky highlights.
“No way,” Jungha denies with vigor. “I was there for the orange incident. I’m not letting you or Jimin near my head.”
Jimin sneaks up behind Taehee, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and hooking her chin over Taehee’s shoulder. “Aw, you’re no fun Jungie. Also the orange incident was not that bad. It totally worked out!” She chirps.
“Says you,” Jungha points out with a raised eyebrow. “Besides, I don’t think chunky highlights would suit me. M’not fly enough for that,” she says with a shrug.
“Um, lies,” Jimin’s face is incredulous. She reaches out with grabby hands to scrunch Jungha’s cheeks. “You’re like, the epitome of cute n’ cool.”
“Hey!”
“I think pink hair could look good on you,” Taehee pipes up, ignored by the other two who are now engaged in a lively tussle of bestowing - Jimin - and escaping - Jungha - platonic displays of affection. Jungha makes one final duck to evade Jimin’s attempts before beelining for the door with a gleeful shriek.
“You’re the coolest, bunny!” Jimin calls out as she blows an obnoxious kiss in Jungha’s direction. Jungha flips her off and Jimin turns back towards the mirror and settles for styling her own blonde waves. Taehee takes up Jimin’s previous role of back-hugger and uses the opportunity to lave her tongue over the junction between Jimin’s neck and shoulder, pulling a barely-there, filthy noise from Jimin.
In the main space of the locker room, the remainder of the team was in various states of undress, all getting ready to head out. Jungha is pulling her little baby tee on over her head when she hears some of the girls address their captain, Olivia Lewis.
“Any words of wisdom or whatever before we go, Liv?” Bent over to tie up her kicks, the captain flips back her braids as she stands up.
“I mean not really. Like, if y’all got plans this weekend don’t do stupid shit, obviously.”
“What counts as stupid again?” A yell comes from the back, and everyone turns around to see Taehee and Jimin chaotically emerging from the bathroom, considerably more disheveled than before and with suspiciously swollen lips.
Olivia levels them with a stare. “Anything that involves you guys,” she deadpans.
“Anything?” Jungha asks with wide eyes. Next to her, Ashley Cameron coos.
“Just don’t join their orgies and you’ll be fine, Jungha,” she simpers.
“Fuck off, Ash.” Jimin plops down next to Jungha’s other side. Taehee throws her arm around Jimin as she sits as well.
“No,” Ashley says sweetly, making a heart with her hands.
“Okay so I’m gonna bounce. Later!” Olivia makes her exit and the team does too, in their little groups of twos, threes, and fours.
“You still coming with us, Junghie?” Taehee asks as they make their way outside.
“For sure,” she says, walking towards the parking lot with them.
Jimin’s car, a very beat up Honda Civic dubbed Lucie, was beloved by all three of them and they were counting on her to give them a moment’s worth of air-conditioned relief on the way back home. The parking lot is packed with cars, other sports teams holding their practice in the surrounding facilities. The moment Jungha spots Lucie among the rows of vehicles, she makes a mad dash for the car. Although technically working, Lucie’s air-conditioning was still questionable, especially in the warmer months, and if she beat Taehee for the passenger seat it meant more cool air for her.
“Shotgun!” Jungha yells, eliciting a holler of opposition from Taehee. The two of them play-fight in their run to reach the car first, Jimin following at a leisurely pace behind and watching with mild amusement. She twirls her keys around her fingers and clicks the car lock from afar.
Jungha emerges victorious in the battle for the front seat. She didn’t want to weaponize her knowledge of Taehee’s tickle spots, but it had to be done. Grumbling in the back seat next to their gym bags, Taehee peers out the window.
“Where did ‘Min go? Wasn’t she right behind us?”
“Dunno,” says Jungha, propping the car door open a bit to get some air circulation in the stuffy car. She sticks her head out and spots Jimin, who’s seemingly been stopped by someone with their back Jungha and Taehee.
“Seriously, how long does it take to walk over here, did she get lost or someth-” Taehee is interrupted by Jungha’s observation.
“She’s talking to someone. Some girl with red hair, I think,” she says. Taehee immediately cranes her neck to see, eyes blown wide.
“Wait really?”
“Yeah, do you know her? I don’t think I’ve seen her before…” Jungha trails off, trying to get a better angle. From here, she can see that Jimin is still twirling her keys around her hand, the metal glinting in the sun. Her other hand is curling slowly around her hair, eyes batting up at the girl, and if Jungha were to make a guess at it, she’d say that Jimin was flirting.
“Jungha, that's gotta be Hobi-unnie! Holy shit I can’t believe Jiminie ran into her, I gotta- I gotta go too-” Taehee hurriedly hops out of the car. The name rings a bell in Jungha’s memory, but she can’t place it.
“Wait wait who’s Hobi-unnie again?” She calls out, but Taehee is already well on her way over.
“Be right back Jungie!” She waves back at the car and practically skips over to where Jimin and this Hobi-unnie are still talking. At Taehee’s arrival Jungha swears she can see the sexual tension rise as it comes off of the two in waves as they talk to this girl. Not that Jungha can tell much from just the back of her, but she thinks Hobi-unnie is matching their energy, the way her head is titled and her hip is popped with a hand resting perfectly on it.
Slumping back in her spot in the car, Jungha cranks the seat back and waits. Since they became friends last year, she had been introduced to a whole new world of living, namely the insane sex lives Jimin and Taehee led and the antics they got up to with their lively rotating group of self-proclaimed queer friends.
Actually, Jungha had been surprised enough when Jimin and Taehee informed her they were lesbians, let alone dating each other. Not that she had ever given it much thought, but Jimin and Taehee looked like Bimbo Summit. Although obviously proven wrong after meeting them, they still were not exactly what Jungha would’ve pegged for lesbians. In either case, they were so utterly all over each other all the goddamn time that it soon became an aspect of life no more interesting than any other. The sky is blue. Jimin and Taehee were kinky girls in love. What else?
Being as extroverted and mischievous as they were, teasing a shy and relatively inexperienced Jungha in freshman year quickly became their favorite activity. Marginally increasing her confidence had come from an unending tirade of jokes affectionately at her expense. It also quickly accustomed Jungha to sex and general debauchery among all types of people. It was a kind of fun she had never experienced before, one that still made her naturally more introverted self a little nervous. But she was warming up to it. Jimin and Taehee were her rock, always ready to quell any discomfort or uncertainty with their just-have-fun-and-take-no-shit attitude.
And despite learning to just go with the flow for all of Taehee and Jimin’s crazy escapades, polyamory still managed to throw Jungha for a loop. Was it polyamory? Jungha had no clue. All she understood was that both girls were head over heels for someone they met at some party recently. She hadn’t been able to remember her name until now. Ho-seung? Ho-seoo?
“Jungie!” Jimin squealed as she hopped into the car, Taehee jumping once again into the back seat. “Hobi-unnie is to die for,” she says, like she’s declaring the end of the world. Putting the key in the ignition, she turns it with a heavy sigh and a hand thrown over her forehead like a damsel in distress.
“I swear I was going to pass away from the gorgeousness,” she says with one more flourish before beginning to back out of the parking spot.
“God, the things I need her to do to me…” Taehee says from the back. Jungha looks in the rearview mirror and sees Taehee’s eyes glazed over with a faraway expression across her face.
“So was this the girl from that party the other week? ‘Cause I don’t think I've ever seen Tae this desperate for someone in forever.” Jungha asks Jimin, who snickers.
“Well fuck me if I’m a hot mess Jungha, you didn’t see her,” Taehee says lazily from her spot.
“No thanks, you have Jimin for that,” Jungha says with a cheeky quirk of her mouth. “Ow!” She clasps the back of her neck where Taehee flicked her in retaliation.
“What we want is Hobi-unnie to fuck us, right Taebear?” Jimin says from behind the wheel, with Taehee nodding fervently. “Need to pull on that red hair, if you know what I’m sayin’,” she adds with a sly smirk.
“Okay! How about some music everyone?” Jungha says loudly, reaching for the pile of CDs in the center console, making the girls laugh.
“Anything you say, bunny,” Jimin says. Jungha digs through the albums until she finds some Norah Jones. As the first track begins and it becomes clear that Lucie’s AC is acting up again, Jimin rolls down the windows to let the breeze in.
“Oh, good choice,” Taehee sighs, and the girls fall into a peaceful silence on their way home.
Taehee and Jimin’s apartment was a block down from Jungha’s dorm. Jungha had heard the story many times, of how the girls had been assigned as roommates as freshmen and how now, as juniors and lovers, they had ascended to the next level of cohabitation. Their small apartment was an accumulation of several years of college-style living together. It was packed with stuff: posters and prints artfully arranged across the walls, textbooks and paper paraphernalia in every nook and cranny, and plush throw pillows as far as the eye could see. There was a CD player with an enormous collection of albums beside it, knickknacks and memorabilia lining every available surface, and kitchen appliances carefully bedazzled with sequins and gems. Messy, but somehow never too cluttered. Jungha found it homey.
She had made herself at home, too. Sprawled across the bed and nodding along absentmindedly to the Mariah Carey tune playing from the radio, Jungha mimes singing along. Taehee is telling the latest chronicle in her never-ending stories from her musical theater elective course. Jimin is hunched over the computer, her nails clacking away on MySpace. At various random intervals, she contributes a comment to Taehee’s monologue.
Taehee is seemingly reaching the crux of her story when an interruption occurs in the form of loud gasp from Jimin’s lips. She explains before the others can even ask.
“Hobi-unnie sent me a friend request!”
Taehee is immediately on her feet, and even Jungha turns her attention towards the computer, now lit up with Hobi-unnie’s friend request. After this afternoon’s interaction in the parking lot, she was at least a little curious who this new girl was all about.
“Oh my god oh my god she says there’s a party tonight and she wants us to come!” Jimin whirls around to look at Taehee. “This is our chance babe!” She squeals, practically vibrating in her seat with excitement. Even Jungha, with no dog in this fight, is excited for them to go have fun, giggling from her spot on the bed.
“What do you mean? You’re coming too, duh!” Taehee says as Jungha realizes she might have said that aloud. “Unless you don’t wanna, I guess,” she adds.
But straightaway Jimin isn’t having it, not one little bit. “Please come Jungha! It’s been ages since we’ve gone out and you gotta be our wingman! Wingwoman? Whatever,” she dismisses with a wave of her hand.
“We literally went out together last week,” Jungha deadpans.
“Point is you need to help us with Hobi-unnie, Jungha,” Taehee explains.
“And do what? Walk up to her and say ‘hi, my friends think you’re hot, wanna fuck them?’”
“Yes,” Taehee says emphatically. Jungha laughs in disbelief, and Taehee doubles down. “You don’t get it. We’re tryna get laid tonight, Jungha. Laid,” she enunciates every letter.
“Her profile says she has a roommate who’s her bestie 4 lyfe,” Jimin says, scanning Hobi-unnie’s MySpace profile. “She’ll probably be there too. Maybe you could talk to her?” she suggests.
“But I don’t know her,” Jungha says, her voice going wobbly. She can feel her introverted self retreating back into its shell like a snail. “I don’t even know Hobi-unnie.”
“We’ll introduce you, bunny,” Taehee says gently. Jimin gets up from her spot by the computer, sensing a bit of comfort is needed and joins Jungha on the bed, wrapping them up in the mountain of blankets and pillows.
“It’s just a basement show, Jungie. There’ll be some local alt band playing and all the usual faces. Wouldn’t that be something that you’d like?”
Jungha nods, it’s true. She was a musician herself, and a self-declared music connoisseur. “I guess,” she agrees, voice small. “Is it okay if I just go for the music this time? Don’t really wanna talk to people,” she mumbles. The girls coo over her.
“It’ll be all fun and music,” Taehee promises. “We can stay as long as you want.”
Jungha smiles at that. She feels so warm and comforted it’s making her sleepy. “Okay. Let’s go party tonight.”
“Yessss,” Taehee pumps the air and Jimin smiles wide, tugging her down for a dogpile nap.
It isn’t until much later that the evening is upon the trio, who are eagerly getting ready. Jungha’s feeling lively again, all shaken up like a dog after a bath. She’s put Avril Lavigne into the CD player and the girls are jamming out between tweaks to their meticulous outfits.
Jungha is proud of her outfit. It was another change that occurred spending time with Jimin and Taehee, whose infectious courage was enough to get Jungha to dip her toes into the fashion world. Before then, her sports clothes had more or less occupied all the space in her closet. Alt clothes, scene styles, hell even the girly stuff that Jimin and Tae preferred always looked so bomb, and also so very far out of her reach. But Jimin and Tae challenged that as college athletes with their picture-perfect little tops and skirts, cute boots and heels, and all with a matching bag and set of bling. The folks in their social circle were no less passionate about a fresh outfit, too. From what Jungha understood, it was way more fun in groups of people, those who cared about it just as much. She was trying, slowly but surely, to take more fashion risks. Jimin and Taehee were yet again her number one cheerleaders.
She had borrowed a pair of Taehee’s fishnet leggings, and layered them over a little jean miniskirt that she secured with a chunky belt. Her top was an art project, according to Jimin. Jungha had taken a pair of scissors to a large t shirt and cut the neckline looser and wider. It shows off her pretty collarbones, which she had adorned with a bunch of the girl’s miscellaneous necklaces and an old necktie. Lastly, she had added a couple bracelets, rings, and her stomper boots. It was a good outfit. Tame maybe, compared to Jimin and Taehee’s getups for the night, but Jungha thought she looked pretty sweet. It was rare she even wore a skirt, and the girls hyped her up like no other.
“Jungie you want me to do your hair ‘n makeup?” Jimin offers from where she’s perched in front of the mirror, applying concealer to her lips.
“Yes please! Can you do something kinda grungy?” Jungha asks.
“For sure babe, come sit,” Jimin waves her over and Jungha eagerly bounds over.
“I can do your hair Jungie, Jimin’ll do your face,” Taehee offers, as Jimin raises herself up onto her knees to face Jungha, who’s seated with her legs tucked underneath her.
“Tilt your head back, bunny,” Jimin says, holding Jungha’s chin in one hand and wielding a makeup brush with the other.
While Jimin works her magic, Taehee takes a comb to Jungha’s hair. Parsing out sections, she teases them lightly, slowly building up its volume. Once satisfied, she parts the hair again, this time tying up sections into a spunky half-up half-down style. Taking some smaller strands, she scatters thin little braids throughout for good measure. Jimin deems Jungha ‘literally so gorg,’ as Taehee is just finishing up.
Looking in the mirror, Jungha felt a wave of shyness wash over her. Gosh, she just looks so sick. Her smoky eyes are the perfect edge to contrast her round eyes, her hair complementing the curves and angles of her face. The girls let out squeals of delight at their handiwork, and crowd Jungha in the mirror, the three of them admiring the collective ensemble they made.
“That’s hot,” Jimin declares. Jungha has to agree, giddy with excitement now that she was all done up.
“Oh wait, let me get the digicam!” Taehee scrambles to snag their little pink camera to document their going-out looks. It’s after far too many pics and a lot of giggles that they finally make their way out and into the night.
The basement show was at a spot the girls had been to before. It was a local haunt that was popular among the youth, yet not quite the level of degeneracy of a frat house, which Taehee and Jimin were not exactly fans of. All those big, beefy men getting their grubby hands all over everything. Even mentioning a set of greek letters was enough to make Taehee retch in disgust. This was not that. It was raunchy and grimy in a different way, with a touch of mystery and an energy that somehow made everything exciting. By the time the trio of girls arrive, it’s packed and the lights are low, flashing across the stage and illuminating the distinct haze of smoke. It smells like sweat and cigarettes.
Peering through the dancing and socializing crowd, Jungha catches a glimpse of the band that was playing, electric guitar and drums resounding through the air and the bass sending a tremor through the floor. Soon she would have to get closer, Jungha thinks, though for the time being she’s glued to Taehee and Jimin. The girls inch their way towards the makeshift bar for drinks. Turning back to yell in her ear, Jimin asks if she wants anything.
“Um, sure!” She yells back. They had taken shots before leaving the apartment, but Jungha wanted something to hold onto, beginning to feel slightly out of her element now that the initial awe had worn off.
Soon enough, Taehee hands Jungha a cup, and the three of them move closer towards the stage. Jungha takes a sip of her drink, and grimaces. It had to be, what, ninety-nine percent alcohol? Well, hopefully it would loosen her up a bit, she thought as she took another sip. Taehee was nodding along to the music, one hand loosely wrapped around Jimin’s waist. Jimin had her head on a swivel, luscious curls catching the light as they bounced left and right. When Jungha looks at her questioningly she gives her reason.
“Looking for Hobi-unnie!” Jungha ah-es in understanding. “If you see her tell us,” Jimin says, and Jungha gives her a thumbs-up.
With all the bodies across the floor, it was heating up. Jungha sips her drink more, trying to cool off a bit. It didn’t really do much. The music was reverberating through her body and the alcohol was slowly but surely starting to kick in. Looking over towards one end of the room, Jungha thinks she can see a familiar flash of red hair. Tapping Jimin’s arm to get her attention, she waves over towards her sighting. Eyes widening in recognition, Jimin started making moves in that direction, yelling out a ‘thanks!’ to Jungha.
“Come with!” Taehee says, reaching out to grab a hold of Jungha’s arm. “We can introduce ya!”
Jolting at the hand tugging her along, Jungha sways rapidly forwards and follows along, her drink sloshing messily. She takes a quick drink so it won’t splash around so much.
“Hobi-unnie! This is our Jungha! Jungie, say hi,” and Jungha is pulled out of her drinking to focus in on the introductions being made. She is instantly found face to face with a very sweaty Hobi-unnie. She must have been dancing already, is what Jungha figures vaguely in the back of her mind. Hobi-unnie’s bright red hair is slightly damp and her bangs are hanging wet across forehead. She’s wearing green army pants and a long black tank top that’s plastered across her. Her face appears devoid of makeup but her skin glistens flawlessly, eyes narrowed and sparkling. Jungha feels a little out of breath. Taking a quick glance at her friends, she sees their expressions not unlike her own.
“H-Hello,” she gets out. Almost immediately Hobi-unnie breaks out into a riotous laugh, heart-shaped smile spread wide and dispelling the siren look from the moment prior.
“Jungha-yah, how cute! Call me unnie, yeah?” Her enthusiasm puts Jungha at ease and she laughs along easily. Quickly enough Taehee and Jimin snatch Hobi-unnie right back and the four of them rush right up to the stage to dance.
Drink still secured in one hand and sipped with increasing frequency, Jungha sinks into the groove of the music and finally allows herself to rock out. She tosses her hair as she headbangs, raises her free hand into the air, jumps up and down, sways from side to side, and loses herself to the music. The crowd surges as the guitarist works the guitar, making it sing. In the near vicinity, Hobi-unnie and Jimin are putting their best dance moves on display, Taehee adjacent and laughing while she snaps photos of their prowess.
Downing the rest of her drink in one almighty swig, Jungha pushes forward to reach the very front of the crowd and looks up in awe at the band. The lead singer is clenching the mic with one hand and gripping the mic stand with the other, back arching to let out a formidable belt. The guitarist and bassist are similarly engrossed in the feeling, bending over their instruments in a passionate focus. In the back, the drummer has since lost their shirt since the girls arrived, muscles rippling as they bring the drumsticks down upon the drums and cymbals.
Jungha throws her head back and laughs with abandon, dancing with both hands free this time, jamming with the band until the song comes to a raucous end. She turns back then, looking for her friends. The band is starting their next song when Jungha spots them as they take advantage of the slower tempo to try some dirty dancing. Hobi-unnie is sort of sandwiched between the girls, holding onto Jimin’s waist as the blonde presses up against Hobi-unnie’s front, Tae holding onto her hips from behind, all three engaging in some kind of slow grind.
Feeling a little lightheaded, Jungha makes her way over to the side of the dancefloor for a well-timed break. Maybe chugging that last bit in her cup wasn’t the greatest idea, she thinks. The world in front of her blurs just a hint. And maybe that’s why when Jungha’s back hits the wall, she knocks into the person next to her.
“Oh sorry, I-” Jungha feels her brain freeze before her body does, turning to face the person she bumped into. It’s a girl, slightly shorter than Jungha herself. Her small, almost feline face is flushed and smouldering, a single eyebrow arching perfectly in judgement as her long back hair, parted perfectly down the middle, shimmers and shines in the light. She’s wearing a tiny, tight black dress and somehow it’s glossy too, hugging her figure, highlighting her hips and slim waist and chest and she’s so- “Oh god you’re so hot.”
Once her mind catches up to her mouth, Jungha lets out a squeak and covers her face with her hands. Oh my god that’s so embarrassing, she thinks, feeling the blood rush to her head. Or maybe it was the alcohol? Or the heat of the room. She lets out a little groan. Oh god she totally must be drunk. Far too drunk and so very very gay, she was quickly realizing. She was only like, half sure that she was a lesbian. She was thinking about it, sure. Actually she hadn’t even figured out if she liked boys either but tonight it was so clear that she was so gay and-
An amused hum makes Jungha peek through her fingers, where the girl in front of her had a slight smirk on her face. Her lips have a little hint of pink lipgloss on them.
“H-how much did I say out loud?” Jungha asks with a cringe, preparing for the worst.
“Enough,” the girl replies. Before Jungha can bury her face once again the girl reaches out, a hand circling her wrist to gently tug them away.
“Why hide your pretty face, hm? S’not like you can take it back now,” she reasons, her little grin growing steadily. Jungha’s face goes up in flames. Pretty?
“You’re a friend of my roommate, aren’t you?” She asks.
“I-I am?” Jungha stutters through her brain fog. She can’t stop staring at this girl’s lips.
“Hob-ah. I saw you with her earlier and a couple other girls,” she explains, and it’s these details that make it through Jungha’s fuzzy mind.
“Oh, you mean Hobi-unnie? You’re her roommate?”
“Yeah, I’m Yoonji. If Hobi’s your unnie then that makes me your unnie too.”
“Yoonji. Yoonji-unnie,” Jungha says, awed. She’s still holding on to Yoonji’s hand awkwardly, but after learning her name, Jungha squeezes it, leaning forward to be closer to Yoonji’s face. Because god, if Hobi-unnie was hot, then Yoonji-unnie was hotness cranked to one hundred.
It brings a huff and another little smile to Yoonji’s face. Jungha realizes she’s said yet another thought aloud and scrunches up her face in embarrassment. She really needs to cut that out.
“What’s your name, baby?” The endearment sends swoops into Jungha’s stomach, her doe eyes going wide and getting lost for a moment. “Baby?” Yoonji prompts with a smirk when Jungha doesn’t respond right away.
“Jungha, I’m Jungha,” she rushes out with. Yoonji pats her hair to reward her, tucking a few strands behind her ear.
“And are you feeling really drunk or is it just the room?” Yoonji asks, her eyes narrowed a bit now, and Jungha swallows hard. She inhales deeply, exhales slowly.
“I don’t- um, I don’t know,” she says honestly, trying to clear her mind a bit. The closer she leans into Yoonji, the more she can make out some scent of hers. Something spicy, and something sweet. Is it- lychee?
Yoonji keeps staring at her, not saying a word and it’s sending tingles zipping across her skin. She’s looking at Jungha like she’s trying to eat her up. Jungha has the urge to say something, anything.
“I-I came here cause I wanted to have fun with the music n’ all. I like alt music. I really like alt music, Yoonji-unnie. And I came with- with my friends. Taehee n’ Jimin. They wanna fuck Hobi-unnie. ‘Cause they’re lesbians. They’re lesbians, Yoonji-unnie,” Jungha emphasizes.
Yoonji’s looking out at the crowd that’s still dancing away to the blasting sounds of the band. The lights partially obscure her face, illuminating her silhouette instead. Jungha’s not entirely sure Yoonji was even listening until she turns ever so slightly to look at her out of the corner of her eye.
“Yeah, and what about you?”
“Huh?”
“Are you a lesbian too, Jungha?”
She asks so plainly and it makes the answer seem so easy.
“Yeah,” Jungha breathes. “Yeah.”
Yoonji raises an eyebrow. “You like girls, Jungha?”
“Yeah,” Jungha repeats, her vocabulary dumbed down to one word. A long silence spreads out between the two of them. They’re still holding hands, and Jungha feels so content to stand there for as long as she’s able. With Yoonji-unnie. She closes her eyes, swaying back and forth a bit to the music. It’s not until a moment later when abruptly, her hand is released from Yoonji’s.
“‘M going out for a cig,” Yoonji mutters. And in a haze of content, Jungha’s surprise is slow to respond. She tears her eyes open.
“Wait, what?” By the time she’s asking, Yoonji is well on her way out. Jungha looks around wildly, but there’s no way of picking her out within the crowd.
Pushing through the masses, Jungha heads straight for the closest exit she can find. When she finds one, she zeroes in on it, not paying attention to the surrounding people. A hand reaches out and manages to get a hold of her arm, pulling her back around.
“Jungha, come dance! We were missing you,” it’s Taehee and the girls. Jungha shrugs them off.
“M’ going- going out-” she's in too much of a rush to explain, but the trio seems to understand at least a little bit.
“Okay goodnight babe!” She hears Jimin call out as she leaves them behind. “Call if you need us!” And Jungha keeps going, through the friend groups as fast as she can realistically manage.
The cool, outdoor air is like a smack in the face. It’s dark out, a few lone street lamps shedding a little light here and there. Jungha can physically feel her body settle, beginning to sober up from the fresh air. Looking up and down the street, she sees no sign of Yoonji. Walking to the corner of the building, Jungha catches a glimpse of a side alley, narrow and dimly lit. Peeking around it cautiously, she spots her.
Yoonji-unnie is leaning against the wall, cigarette in hand and head tipped back to blow the smoke into the night sky. Jungha finds herself mesmerized at the sight of her pale skin in the streetlight, her lithe frame seeming to glow softly in contrast to the harsh black of her clothes, her hair, and the smell of smoke. Jungha’s rooted to the spot.
“C’mere Jungha,” Yoonji says, taking Jungha by surprise. She hadn’t realized that Yoonji had noticed her.
Jungha takes a couple steps closer and Yoonji reaches out a hand, beckoning. A few steps closer and she takes a hold of Jungha’s necktie, using it to tug Jungha forward. She stumbles right into Yoonji’s personal space.
“Why’d you come out here, hm?” Jungha flushes and mumbles incoherently, looking down at their feet. For the life of her, she’s not sure why.
“What was that? Speak up baby,” Yoonji says, smoothing her thumb over the fabric of Jungha’s tie.
“Dunno,” she murmurs, still unable to look Yoonji in the eyes. “Wanted to be near you, I guess.”
Yoonji takes a drag of her cigarette, lets the smoke curl around the tight space between them, and then smudges it against the wall behind her until it burns out. She laughs, a short and strained noise.
“Aish, you’re so pretty, you know that?” Still holding Jungha’s necktie, Yoonji uses her now free hand to tilt Jungha’s chin up, forcing her to look Yoonji in the eyes. “Such a pretty girl,” she says softly.
Jungha exhales suddenly, not noticing she had been holding her breath. “You’re pretty unnie,” she says, shuddering with each new intake of breath. “You’re so pretty…” she trails off, entranced.
“Jungha, you’re really sure you like girls, right?”
“Uh huh,” Jungha nods her head feverishly, feeling her heartbeat increase. Feeling brave, she speaks up again. “Like- like you unnie.”
“Have you,” a pause. Then, “have you ever been with a girl before?” It sends heat right to Jungha’s core, her mouth dropping open just a bit, but no sound escaping. In her daze, she stares at Yoonji-unnie’s lips, so cute and small. That lipgloss just makes them so much more pink and plump.
She must notice, though, because her lips curve into a smile as she asks yet another question. “I can see you looking, Jungha. Do you want to kiss me?”
“You said I was hot, Jungha. Is that why you said it?” She keeps saying Jungha’s name and flustering her further.
“I-I didn’t mean to say it,” Jungha blurts out. But oh, now Yoonji-unnie’s running her thumb over Jungha’s bottom lip, dragging it down even further from where her mouth is already agape. Jungha feels her heart truly begin to pound in her chest.
“So you don’t want to kiss unnie,” Yoonji says, and Jungha quickly shakes her head, eyes wide.
“No I do, I do,” she says. “I- please kiss me unnie,” Jungha says in a whisper.
“You ask so sweetly, baby,” and without wasting another moment Yoonji’s grip on her tie pulls them flush together and her lips are on Jungha’s.
And it's so, so soft. The warmth of their kiss sends a bodily shiver coursing through Jungha and the tiniest of whimpers escapes her. Pulling her impossibly closer with a groan, Yoonji kisses her deeper and slides her hand down from Jungha’s chin to her neck. Jungha feels her knees buckle and bend, shaking as she tilts her head upwards to accommodate their makeout. Her hands come down hard against the wall behind Yoonji, straining to keep her upright.
Yoonji tastes like sweet lipgloss and cigarettes. Her tongue swipes across the seam of Jungha's lips and Jungha lets her in, opening her mouth with a wrecked noise and so Yoonji can kiss her wholly. It’s all-consuming and Jungha feels like she’s being completely taken apart, kiss by kiss. She moans into it, head spinning and heart bursting, sucking eagerly on Yoonji’s lower lip. Her hands that were pressed against the wall find purchase on Yoonji’s waist, hesitantly at first, until Yoonji wraps her lips around Jungha’s tongue and sucks, causing them to squeeze involuntarily.
With a gasp, Yoonji pulls back for just a split second and in a whirl of limbs she has Jungha with her back flat against the wall, diving in for another filthy kiss. Jungha whines when she pulls away all too soon, a trail of saliva caught between them, their lips swollen and cheeks red. The heat that began to pool in her gut is swirling madly and there’s a wet spot in her underwear that has her pressing her thighs together, squirming.
“Unnie,” she breathes, eyes clenched shut as Yoonji takes the opportunity to leave open-mouthed kisses down her neck.
“Pretty,” Yoonji says in a low voice, when she reaches Jungha’s collarbones, stopping there to leave a mark. Jungha keens, a high-pitched whimper leaving her mouth.
“Yoonji-unnie,” she can feel her smile against her skin. Jungha’s stomach swoops, her thighs clenching.
“You like when I leave marks?” Yoonji purrs, leaving more hickeys as she travels back up Jungha’s neck, Jungha only able to let out little ‘ah’s in between.
“It feels good?” Yoonji asks, pulling back an inch to see Jungha’s expression. Her face is flushed the most beautiful shade of red, and there’s a far away look in her eyes. Their lips brush against each other as Yoonji continues to speak in slow, indulgent tones.
“Feels so good unnie,” Jungha whimpers, running her hands up and down the silky soft of Yoonji’s little black dress, moaning at her curves. Yooonji kisses her slowly, her hands teasing at the hem of Jungha’s t-shirt.
“Want- want more,” Jungha whines into the kiss. Yoonji’s hands slip under her shirt and press greedily across her smooth skin, stroking her taut core and making her shake.
“Baby wants more?”
“Yes, yes want more, unnie, please,” Jungha cries. Yoonji noses her head to the side to revisit her neck, this time licking right below her ear and eliciting another cry.
“You want me to touch you? Touch you here?” She speaks directly into Jungha’s ear, nibbling her earlobe as her hands move lower, over her belt and the beginnings of her skirt, questioning.
“Please,” Jungha says, breathless. “‘M so- need you to touch me unnie, please I can’t-” Her chest is heaving and she feels so gone already. Yoonji reaches up and takes her face into her hands, petting her burning cheeks like the precious little thing she is.
“Shhh, babygirl,” she hushes, a featherlight touch to her hair, tucking it back. “Unnie will make you feel good, don’t worry,” she assures.
She leaves one last lingering kiss to Jungha’s lips before she lowers herself, kneeling so she’s facing her jean skirt, a bit bunched up and askew from where Jungha’s thighs are rubbing together, unable to stop. Yoonji pushes the skirt up a bit further, reaching for Jungha’s leg to bring it up over her shoulder a bit.
Leaning in, she runs her hands over Jungha’s thighs, humming with a pleased note at the way the hard muscles twitch at her touch. Moving even closer, she inhales deeply, practically smelling the scent of slick in Jungha’s panties. Her nose hits the wet spot first, and Yoonji lets out a guttural moan as her hand joins along Jungha’s wet inner thigh, realizing that she’s soaked all the way through.
“Can I?” She asks in a rush, a hand tucked around Jungha’s underwear and fishnets. Her expression is ravenous.
Jungha is no better from her position above. She’s a mess, clothes all wrong and hair all over the place. Her whole body is emitting little shivers left and right, and she’s hunched forward slightly in anticipation. Her face is vulnerable and wanton, beautiful moans slipping past her lips.
“Please unnie please, please,” Her hands are loose and she doesn’t know what to do with them, balling them into fists before releasing them only seconds later.
Yoonji notices and places them carefully in her own hair, encouraging Jungha to hold on before returning to her panties. Peppering kisses on her covered mound, Yoonji drags them down along with her fishnets, letting them bunch by her ankles.
Spreading them as wide as she can, Yoonji buries her face between Jungha’s legs. She laves her tongue over the sensitive skin of Jungha’s inner thighs, nipping at the flesh and making her jolt, a pained moan sounding out from above her. When she’s finally reached the plush warmth of Jungha’s vulva, Yoonji uses a thumb to spread the petals of her labia. Like a starved woman, she moans and licks a wide stripe from Jungha’s perineum all the way up to her throbbing clit.
The wail Jungha lets out is loud enough to alert the entire street of what Yoonji is doing to her. Her mouth has fallen open entirely and her hands in Yoonji’s head pull on her dark hair.
Yoonji licks hungrily, relishing the cries she hears from Jungha and the way she feels, hot and wet and throbbing under her tongue. She kisses Jungha’s outer labia, almost making out with it before licking circles onto her hole, prodding but not penetrating. With a finger, she touches Jungha’s clit lightly, perking up at the high-pitched keen Jungha makes in response. She’s so, so sensitive there, and yet Jungha’s hands push Yoonji’s head forward, hips canting upwards to her touch. And Yoonji keeps eating her out, already addicted to Jungha’s slick. She says so, from where her mouth is still attached to Jungha.
“Pussy tastes so good. And your clit, so sensitive and perfect, perfect for me,” she raves, diving in once more. The vibrations from her voice makes Jungha tremble, heat consuming her bodily.
When Yoonji starts to leave kitten licks around her clit Jungha seizes up, starting to twitch all over. Jungha has a hand over her open mouth, trying and failing to suppress her cries, lips and fingers wet from spit.
“Unnie- c-can’t, I’m- I can’t-” she sobs.
“You can, baby. Be good for me Jungha, just let me make you feel good,” Yoonji soothes, rubbing her thighs comfortingly as they shake harder.
Her mouth is right back on Jungha in an instant, feeling how her hole is fluttering here and there, getting close to the edge. Circling back up to her clit, Yoonji sucks, lips pulsing around her and it sends Jungha babbling incoherently, moans increasing rapidly in volume. Still sucking on Jungha’s clit, she brings a thumb to her hole, rubbing against it and putting pressure there, daring to slip inside. Jungha shrieks and Yoonji keeps going until it’s almost unbearable, building up until her head hits the wall behind her. While one final, silent cry, the dam bursts as a wave of pleasure crashes over Jungha, her limbs convulsing uncontrollably in every direction. Yoonji works her through it, eagerly lapping up the gushing results of Jungha’s orgasm until she’s whining in oversensitivity.
Minutes later and Jungha’s head still feels pillowly, like it’s full of clouds. Her body is numb and warm, but a breeze trickles through the alleyway and it makes her shiver, suddenly aware of the cold outside again. Opening her eyes from where they had been squeezed shut, she looks down at where Yoonji is putting her panties back in place, head resting against the plush of Jungha's thigh. Her breathing finally slows, the vaguest sense of clarity coming to her for the first time that night.
“Holy shit,” she says through the daze.
