a bitter smile appeared on jaehan's face, they—the staff had told him there will be another member added to their group and of course he's been give the duty to take responsibility for this new member as if he doesn't have enough on his plate already. this new boy named shin yechan, from what jaehan heard will be the youngest one and have almost 6 years age gap with him. he doesn't even want to think about taking care of a boy who's still in his teenage phase. taking care of another nine dude beside himself already tiring enough for him, especially in this rough environment.
well what could he possibly do beside nod obidiently and say, "of course, you don't have to worry i'll be the one taking care of the members... and that obviously including the new boy," with his lips spread wide, trying to force reassuring smile whitin his face. one of the staff gave him little pat on his shoulder and nodded—means they're satisfied with jaehan's call.
jaehan let a loud sigh escape from his mouth, his shoulder shrugged down. how could this possibly happen? it's just months away from their debut, omega x debut with the perfect ten members after all those years of training. he dragged his foot away from the management office slowly with his head downright to the floor, managed to get some strange look from all the staff in the room.
"what happened? he always look depressed every time the director called him to the office," said one of the staff. "i don't know, it's probably just some sweet nag from that old man," the other staff rolled their eyes, bored by how everytime jaehan called by the director he goes in with this big smile on his face and out with a lot of sighing and frown as if he's depressed.
"jaehan hyung, what's wrong?" hangyeom asked when his corner eyes caught jaehan entering the practice room with weird vibes.
jaehan smiled, "nah, it's just... i have something to tell you guys," his gaze changed, scanning his members that suddenly get up from the floor and sat right in front of him.
they're curious.
jaehan sighed, preparing himself to tell his members about the new boy. "what is it, hyung? just told us already!" said sebin with his excited face, thinking jaehan would tell them something about their debut.
"so..." jaehan paused for a bit, trying to find the wording so it doesn't sound wrong. well, it could be a good news for them, jaehan trying not to force his thoughts about the new member.
"there's one more person that will join us, for omega x's debut," jaehan said with a very careful tone.
"who?" said hangyeom immediately, the other members looked surprised but they keep their mouth closed.
jaehan clears his throat, "his name is shin yechan, his former group is 1the9 made from the survival show undernineteen."
"oh, i know him," said kevin, and so a few members also nodded their heads slightly.
oh?
"you guys know him?" ask jaehan
"well, yeah kind of, i watched a lot of idol survival shows..." xen said quietly
jaehan raised both his eyebrows, "oh, really...?" he take a look at others' faces, "so, what do you think about that—him?"
hyuk shrugs his shoulders, "well, it's not like we can do anything about that." true.
"i think yechan being part of omega x might not bad after all, we can monitor him first if any of us unsure about him fitting well in our team," hangyeom speaks up for the others who just nodded in unison.
jaehan's pupil trembling, he never thought the others would just accept the new member easily. but now, jaehan himself not sure about his feelings about omega x being eleven, well, for now all he can do is pray that yechan won't be that one-of-a-kind troublemaker kid. at the end of the day their goal is to debut and succeed as a group, as an artist.

yechan's eyes were wandering around under his fancy tinted eyeglasses, trying to take a good look on his new company. he nods his head, satisfied with the interior, very clean look with a little touch of fancy thing here and there. "not too bad," he muttered under his breath.
he walks slowly, left hand inside his pocket and the right hand is carrying his massive bag behind his back. yechan is trying to remember the direction to the practice room, turn left in the corner, walks to the end of the hallway and stands still in front of the door.
there it is, the practice room. there's a sound, probably a song that's leaking out a little bit reaching his ears. he listens to the song carefully, yechan whispering a "woah," with his mouth rounded. maybe it's vocal practice time, he can hear someone sing very beautifully with a strong voice, yet sounds so fragile and hurt at the same time.
yechan stood in front of the door for a good five minutes after the song had ended, wondering if right now was a good time to interrupt whoever was practicing inside the room. well, at least he gotta keep his manners good for the first time, because he doesn't know what kind of reaction he'll get from other members as the new boy who joined last minute to the group.
the other members were focusing on practice, evaluating each other's weaknesses from their performance before. "jaehan hyung, your voice is no joke today," said hangyeom praising jaehan singing skill.
jaehan gave away a very sweet smile, "really? i think my condition is good today," he patted hangyeom, "your condition looks good too today, i think we all are, it's strange..." jaehan continued to praise the other members as well, he muttered the last words.
"well yeah, we have to be in a very good condition today. shin yechan guy could come any time, right?" said hyuk, the other gasp.
oh, right. jaehan has forgotten the new member, hyuk's word ring a bell in his head, suddenly he feels nervous for no reason--well maybe shin yechan is the reason.
someone knocked on the door three times, jaehan heart jumped as he almost drop the mic in his hand. all the members' attention to the door, it opened and there's yechan entering the room with a confident smile on his face. he bowed, "hello, i am shin yechan. thank you for having me here," yechan said with a determined voice.
"yo, shin yechan's cominggg," sebin shout out, breaking the silence. the other members welcome him as well.
jaehan stands puzzled for a minute, then he smiles at yechan. "hi... welcome, yechan."
yechan realized the awkwardness, he just smiled as the other walked towards him. hyuk rests his hand on yechan's shoulder, "come, we gotta know each other," yechan nods and walks to the middle of the room.
"oh, yechani you're here?" manager lee came to the room, bringing coffee and snacks.
they sit facing each other, making a full circle, "okay guys, i guess you already know this guy here, he is shin yechan, the new member of omega x. well, officially," announces the manager.
"yeah, nice to meet you guys," said yechan bowed again.
jaehan stares into the new boy, he doesn't look half bad, actually, he's handsome beyond jaehan's imagination. "okay, we should introduce ourselves too," says jaehan, pointing to junghoon, who sits near yechan.
so, all the members began to introduce themselves, some with good excitement and tension while the other seems a bit more laid back and uninterested. yechan could understand their feelings about him actually, but it still hurts a bit.
then it's time for jaehan to introduce himself, he smiled, "hi yechan, my name is jaehan and i'm the oldest out of the members, so if you have any difficulties you can come to me," said jaehan. there, yechan was stunned because of jaehan's smile; his bunny and snuggle tooth appeared within his lips, with his eyes almost closed due to smiling.
"yechan... yechan, are you okay?" jaehan called him several times, and yechan didn't realized untill junghoon tap his shoulder.
yechan flustered, "ah, ekhm..." he clears his throat, "well, uhm... yeah, it's nice to meet you...uh... i hope we can get along well." yechan says with an awkward smile, then he lowered his head. he almost stuttered in every word that comes out of his mouth.
jaehan noticed the redness that suddenly appeard on both of yechan's ears, he can't help but let a chuckle out it almost come as a giggle, "yechan it's okay, don't be shy. your ears are very honest by the way." jaehan trying to comfort and tease yechan a bit to clear the awkward atmosphere, it makes yechan feel caught red handed as the other members start pointing out his red ears and laugh loudly.
shit. he should've stayed quiet
yechan trying to cover his emmbarassment with a confident face, he nods with his lips downwarded, "well, if it's makes you guys laugh then, i guess it's cool," he start playing with his right ear, it makes the red stand out more than it already is.
jehyun wipes off the fake tears, because he laugh too much, "well, you're a funny guy, aren't you?" jehyun's comment makes hwichan that already laughing till his voice silent out crying and rolling with both hands at his belly.
"i think i'm falling in love with yechan," sebin said with big grin on his face, "from now on you're my favorite maknae yechan-ah, get ready for my endless affection," he stands and hugs yechan tightly it almost choking-no, the hug really stops yechan's blood circulation.
jaehan saw how yechan suffering beetwen sebin's hug gets up and trying to pull sebin's hand out of yechan's body, but failed miserably, no wonder yechan is struggling to get out of sebin's hug, that man is fucking strong.
the manager clapping with a big smile on his face, "well, well, we don't want yechani to die so soon, right sebin?" only then sebin realize he hold yechan too tight it might kill him, he proceed to let go of yechan after seeing his entire face and neck getting red-almost purple.
"oh, i'm so so so sorry yechan-aa," sebin said with apologetic tone but trying to sounds cute at the same time.
yechan feel dizzy, he try to inhale as much oxygen as he could as if he drowned in the water, he hold up one of his hand in front of sebin's face, "i don't think i wanna be close to you, hyung..."
jaehan also put up a sour face, "well no one's getting close to sebin anymore, i can't," he said with serious face, not after he rolled on the floor twice just because he was trying to release yechan from sebin's hug.
"aww, don't be like that hyung, i won't do that kind of thing anymore," sebin is sulking, he walked towards jaehan and put his hand on jaehan's shoulder, that, of course jaehan brushed sebin's hand quickly and ran to the other side.
"don't come to me, i'm scared," jaehan hides behind hyuk's and yechan's body.
taedong sigh, "it's enough guys... sebin hyung you should apologize to yechan and jaehan hyung, in twenty minutes we should start practicing," he patted sebin's shoulder, then reassure jaehan and yechan to accept sebin's apology.
"okay, now, the introduction session's already over, we'll resume practice," said manager, all of the members nods including yechan.
hangyeom raised his hand, "i'm curious with yechani, what about we make him perform one song, anything vocal, rap or dance it's up to you," he pointed out yechan.
the members agree, "yeah, we wanna see how good you're yechan-ah," xen added fuel to the fire.
"uh, okay," yechan steps out to the front, "can i get mic and the stand? i'll sing 8 letters by why don't we," he confidently accept the provocation.
when yechan start to sing the members surprised by how sweet his voice sounds, his pronounciation to the song is just perfect that xen's and jaehan's jaw dropped, not expecting honey-like voice came out from yechan's mouth. just ten minutes ago that guy is screaming-in silent and stuttering, now he sings beautifully.
the members then clapped, acknowledging yechan's talent.
