Work Text:
An Aquarium date seems a little on the nose, but truly Haru doesn’t care what they do, as long as they’re together. He had suggested it simply to stop Makoto worrying and suggesting different options. Makoto wanted their first date to be perfect, after so long, but haru knows anything with him would be exactly right. They fit together.
They had ridden the train here, clear sky and scenery whipping past. Makoto had smiled and held out his hand for him, just as he always does. Haru had taken his hand, making a face at the nickname and chatter, more out of the comfortable routine of it than any real annoyance. It’s nice, holding his hand as they travel in warm silence.
Haru watches Makoto’s expressive face as much as he watches the animals. The awe and delight reflected there. Always pointing something new out, wanting to share it with him. Haru is unable to suppress a small smile of his own, and truly, he doesn’t want to. He doesn’t need to hide from Makoto, who can read him even when his face is indecipherable to everyone else. The fish fly through the water, free and light Haru’s heart feels.
