“I think congratulations are in order,” the words were cheap, Glinda knew, but she couldn’t stop herself. “You finally got him.”
A moment went by and no words came out of Elphaba’s mouth, as if she didn’t even want to utter any words to her. Desperate for a reaction, Glinda pushed, “So congratulations.”
A look of incredulity passed Elphaba’s face, it lasted for a few seconds and Glinda revelled in the reaction.
“You made your decision, you’re here because this is what you wanted,” Elphaba said, a matter of fact statement. Then added, “He chose me.”
