Work Text:
The first snow of the year.
Jisung was absolutely ecstatic. He may not love the cold very much but something about watching snow fall while being all cuddled up in a soft blanket was just blissful. “MINHO YAAAAAH! It's snowing!” He jumps out of bed, b-lining it to the kitchen where Minho is making them dinner.
“Is that so?” Minho glances outside, then sees Jisung's gleaming face and mirrors a soft smile towards the boy. “Well it looks like I’ll have to make us some hot cocoa after dinner tonight.”
Jisung beams at that, “Really hyung?” Minho gives a slight nod towards the blue haired boy. Jisung quickly pulls Minho into a short but tight hug, “You’re the best roommate ever!”
“Roommate” God, does Minho wish they were more. But hey at least he has that. Roommate is better than nothing, right? He watches as Jisung pads over in his fuzzy socks (which have little cat paws on them as they were gifted to him by Minho) over to the couch to find something for them to watch.
Minho turns back to the soup which he is preparing, slowly stirring and smiling at the small complaints of Jisung struggling to find a show they both already haven’t watched together.

“Dinner is ready! Come eat or it’ll get cold jagi!” Minho can hear Jisung bolt over and in less than a second he is looming over Minho peering at the soup.
“It looks amazing hyungie, perfect for the weather”
Minho dished out the soup and they settled on the couch to watch some reality tv show Jisung seems interested in. Minho doesn’t really care what is on, as long as his Jisungie is happy.
“Ahhh! Shiba–” Jisung swore as he spilled a spoonful of soup on his favorite hoodie.
Minho jokingly scolded him, “Jisung! We do not swear in this household.”
“Hyung, I’m 24 I think I’m old enough to swear,” He says with a forced pout.
“Nope, that right has been taken away”
“By who?”
“Me.” Minho jokingly says and turns back to the TV.
Jisung then looks down at the spill. He whines, “Minho yah, my favorite hoodie, it's ruined!”
“It’s not ruined, it just needs to be washed. Here, give it to me, I'll go throw it in the wash.”
Jisung grabs the hem of his hoodie and lifts it over his head. His tattoos out to see in their full glory and Minho’s brain short circuits. He stares a bit too long and Jisung starts to curl up. “What is it?” He asks with his eyebrows all scrunched up in that way Minho secretly adores.
“Nothing! Nothing, just lost my train of thought.” He says and quickly grabs Jisung's hoodie from his hands and rushes out of the room to throw it in the wash. While he’s throwing the detergent in he shouts “Hey Jisungie, go pick out another hoodie real quick, we don’t want you catching a cold.” (We also don’t want Minho to lose his sanity.)
“Ok hyung!”
Minho closes the lid to the washer and starts it, hearing the little jingle it does to make sure it’s on and has started the load before he heads back to the living room. He grabs their soup and quickly heats it up, bringing it back to the coffee table in front of the couch. Right when he is placing them down he hears Jisung's soft and familiar footsteps and looks up and his mind short-circuits once again. Jisung didn’t grab any ordinary hoodie, no. He grabbed one of Minho’s. It’s perfectly oversized and hangs over his build so beautifully he could be on the cover of vogue. Although Minho always thinks that.
Minho quickly recovers, “Is that my hoodie?”
“I won’t spill again, I promise.” Jisung pleads, pretending as if Minho would make him take it off.
Minho plays into it, “You better not or you're dead.”
“Yeah right, you love me too much to get rid of me. You wouldn’t last a day without seeing this precious face.” Jisung said as he squished his face between his hands to emphasize his cuteness.
“...Maybe.”
“Huh?”
Minho clears his throat, “Nothing, nothing. Um we should finish our soup before it gets cold again.
They settle down again and Minho eyes Jisung as he slowly and carefully eats his soup so as to not stain Minho’s (and Jisung’s) favorite hoodie. Minho can’t help but love that boy. He so precious, and cute, and kind, and loving, and se–
“...Minho…Minho…MINHO!!”
Minho snaps back, his eyes focused on Jisung. “Huh, what?”
“You okay? You zoned out for like a solid 5 minutes.” Jisung said with slight concern yet amusement.
“Yup! Perfectly fine.”
“Good, that means you are able to wash my dish for me!”
“Wait wait wait, that's not what that means.”
“Minho yah, you and I both know you're going to do it anyways so lets skip the little monologue you do every night and get to it.” Jisung said with a slight smirk creeping up on his face.
Minho was slightly taken aback by both his words and his hot expression, “...I-...You know what…” Minho stared into Jisung's eyes trying to come up with some sort of comeback just for Jisung to tilt his head at Minho and make cute puppy dog eyes…Yup thats it, Minho is gone, “Fine.”
“Heh I always win.” Jisung gloats while handing his dish to Minho then proceeds to lay back on the couch and cuddle up in the mound of blankets he piled up.
Minho wishes he could be annoyed with him but he is only endeared by that boy.
Minho quickly scrubs the bowls and puts away the left overs in the fridge walking back to the couch. He wants to sit next to Jisung so badly but with all his staring tonight maybe that's not a great idea. Maybe Jisung will start to catch on and he’ll hate Minho forever, and he’ll ask to move out, and he’ll never see him aga–
“Minhooooo~! What's taking you so longggggg~?” He shouts from the couch, unaware that Minho is just a few feet behind him. Minho walks around to sit, leaving over a foot of space between them. “Dude why are you so far?” Minho just stares at him for a second, opening his mouth to speak yet nothing comes out. He just scoots over closer to Jisung, still leaving an inch or two of space. Jisung eyes him and simply scoots closer to his hyung and sighs into him, “That’s better.”
Minho’s face is bright red and he hopes to God that Jisung won’t look at him with his boba eyes.
As the show goes on, Jisung butts in with little remarks and Minho just nods along. He’s not really paying attention, just so long as Jisung is enjoying the show he’ll be happy.
They slowly settle into each other more, mostly Jisung’s doing, but Minho is surprised when Jisung suddenly rests his head on Minho’s shoulder. Minho shouldn’t be, this happens almost every night. They’re best friends, of course they are close. But tonight has felt different somehow. Jisung has been the same, Minho has been a bit off, but it's not that. It’s just something in the air. Lingering. Brewing. Creeping up on them. Minho doesn’t know whether he should be scared or excited.
Just a few minutes later Minho can feel Jisung's arm moving slightly, slowly inching towards his. Suddenly Jisung’s pinky is interlocked with his, and this has never happened before. Sure they hug, and cuddle, and sleep in the same bed most nights, and there was that one time where Jisung kissed his neck, but this. This one moment held so much for significance. The night had been so domestic and intimate but this felt like the world tilted and suddenly everything changed.
Minho perked up quickly, “I need to go to the bathroom!” he announced (louder than necessary), and bolted to the bathroom.
Minho slammed the door shut and stared at himself in the mirror, “what…the…fuck?”
He must be overreacting. Jisung only interlocked their pinkies, he didn’t give him a love confession or anything. Right? Right? Minho splashed some water on his face trying to refocus. His face is red and his breathing is fast, and his mind is faster. He can’t go back out. He’ll just sit here and die of hunger. Not a bad way to go. But he knows he can’t do that. Maybe he’ll tell Jisung he’s sick, or constipated.
It’s been almost ten minutes and although he would love to lock himself within those walls, he knows he can’t stay there forever. He takes a deep breath and unlocks the door unprepared to see Jisung standing at the end of the hallway. He’s leaning his back against the wall looking extremely hot in Minho’s opinion.
“You doing okay?”
“Ya! Yup! Fine!”
“Uh huh, cause that's believable” He says with a playful smile.
Minho walks closer despite his brain yelling at him not to and Jisung simply watches, taking in the man before him. In the blink of an eye Jisung seems to have gotten smaller. Less confident, “Did…did I…make you uncomfortable back there?”
“What? No, no, I just had to go to the bathroom,” Minho said unconvincingly.
“Minho,” Jisung says in his softest voice, “talk to me.”
“I-umm,” and Minho can’t look Jisung in the eye.
Jisung's shoulders slump and he seems to lose all of his confidence, “I get it if I overstepped. I won’t do it again okay?”
“What! No! I– I wasn't uncomfortable I promise. I was just…caught off guard.” He says desperately hoping Jisung will understand.
Jisung's eyes grow soft, “Minho~,” Minho looks away and Jisung moves his head to make Minho look at him, “Hyung~,” Minho looks away again but Jisung's face chases him once more, “Jagi~,” he says softly and Minho locks eyes with him. “Tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head.”
“I– Jisung, I don’t think you wanna know that.”
Jisung's lips form a straight line, looking both a little frustrated and confused. Then he looks straight up with that stupid adorable smirk. “Look! We're under mistletoe! You know what that means.”
Minho looks up slightly confused. They haven't put up any mistletoe to his knowledge. He Squints looking a bit closer, “Is that lettuce?”
“...No.”
Minho locks eyes with him and raises an eyebrow, heart beating out of his chest and trying to play it cool.
“Okay maybe it is…wanna kiss anyways?” He says with a smirk.
Minho’s world has turned upside down yet again. Is he serious? This has to be a joke. “I– I umm…I mean…”
Jisung takes in his blush, big heart eyes, scrunched eyebrows, and stands there in awe, patiently waiting for a response. Well almost patiently, but he thinks he’s waited long enough. His hand softly takes hold of Minho’s cheek, eyes searching his. “You can say no,” he whispers.
No? Why would I ever say no? That’s when he decides he needs to stop being so scared. Jisung is handing this to him on a silver platter and Minho is still scared to take it. Their faces are so close and he leans in more and slowly closes his eyes. Jisung takes the hint and surges in to kiss him. Their lips meet and it feels like home. They had spent almost eight years pining for one another and it all came down to this night. Their home; lit with fairy lights and candles, filled with the smell of Minho’s food, filled with the sound of Jisung’s music, filled with their love and it is finally shown. They both sigh into the kiss, slightly turning their heads to deepen it. This is all they have ever wanted.
Jisung breaks the kiss slightly panting, “Finally,” he whispers with a chuckle.
“Yeah, finally,” Minho agrees.
Their eyes meet and they break into the widest grins possible and fall into laughter. “I can’t believe that actually worked!”
“What worked?”
“The lettuce! I was so desperate but I didn’t actually think it would work.”
“Trust me, anything would’ve worked as long as I got to kiss you.”
“Oh well, someone sounds confident all of the sudden. Where did this come from?”
Minho turns his head with a shy smile, “Shut up.”
Jisung smirked, “Make me.”
“Gladly,” and Minho leans into Jisung once more. Jisung’s warmth envelops him, and he takes hold of his small waist bringing him closer. “Is this real?”
“God I hope so or this is a cruel dream.”
********
It’s late and they are cuddled up in Minho’s bed soaking in each other's presence. Jisung tracing doodles onto Minho’s arm and Minho taking in the moment. “What are we Minho?”
“You tell me, you seem to be better at this than I am.”
“But I don’t want to push you. I'm content with this, you, us. I just don’t want this to change us for the worse. I couldn’t bear it if that happened.” He says in such a soft vulnerable voice, “I need you Minho,” and his heart shatters.
“I need you too Jisungi…boyfriends?” He says both hopeful and hesitantly.
Jisung turns to face him, searching Minho’s eyes, “Really?”
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!” He says as he kisses all over Minho’s face.
Minho giggles and turns his head to kiss Jisung and hears a small whimper from Jisung. Then he feels him sink into the kiss and he couldn’t be happier. They couldn’t be happier.
********
“Minho, I’m worried,” Jisung whines again, “What if they don’t accept us? What if they think we’ll ruin the group? What if they–”
“Jagi! We’ll be fine. Besides I'm pretty sure they’ll be accepting, I mean come on they act as gay as we do.”
“I guess you're right.”
“As always,” Minho flaunts along with a sassy hair toss.
“Don’t let it get to your head, hyung.”
“Oh it already has,” Minho adds along with a wink followed by a slow kiss which Jisung sighs into. “You ready?”
“I guess?”
“Come on, you gotta do better than that!”
“I’m ready!” Jisung shouts. He clasps Minho’s hand in his and pulls him out the door, “But let’s go before I lose confidence again.”
The short walk to the company is slow and comforting, their hands clasped and their hearts full. They push through the doors heading for the practice room. Just from the hallway they can hear the boys yelling about random nonsense.
They lock eyes, “You okay? We can do this another time if you aren’t ready,” Minho assures.
“No, I’m ready,” Jisung says, followed by a deep breath and a tight squeeze to his boyfriend's hand. “We’ve got this.” Then they push through the door into the practice room. They boys barely notice them and all the sudden their whole mini pep talk felt anti-climatic.
“Hey you're finally here!” Chan says walking over, “You’re late again.” He says jokingly.
“Yeah by like 5 minutes hyung,” Minho retorts. “Besides Jisung and I actually wanted to tell you guys something.”
“OoOooh is it something juicy?” Hyunjin leans in asking.
Minho has a more serious look on his face and Chan can tell it’s important. Minho leans closer to Jisung “Ready?” and he meets his eyes and replies with a slight nod.
They face the group, “Jisung and I have something we’d like to share with you guys,” Minho addresses.
“Hyung and I are…” He takes a deep breath, “dating…”
Silence takes over the room and only seconds later is broken through by Felix and Hyunjin’s hollering.
“Hell yeah! I knew it!”
“Woooo!”
Jisung is both shocked and heart warmed, then he realizes, “Wait, you knew?”
“Uhhh duhhh?” Changbin says.
“It was really obvious, hyung.” Seungmin retorts.
“We’ve only been dating for 3 weeks,” explains Minho.
“Wait what?” says Jeongin. “Then we’ve been wayyyy off, cause I thought you guys have been dating for like at least a year.”
“A year?!” Jisung screeches.
“Okay, okay, calm down everyone” Chan says with his loud voice carrying across the room. He then pulls both Minho and Jisung into a hug whispering, “I’m happy for you guys. I’m here for you guys”
Changbin joins in, “We all are.”
The boys huddle around and join in a group hug when suddenly they hear soft sobs. Minho immediately knows it’s Jisung, “Jagi? You okay?”
“Never better hyung, never better.”
