"You wish to intrude upon a new thread? Very well. This thread of fate is worthless to me; I shall let you play with a fragment of it. This shall be very, very interesting. Far more useful to me than its original trajectory. Then, await my next contact, one who wishes to explore."

I sat still for a very long time. It felt like hours passed as I tried to get my bearings. Eventually, the sound of debate downstairs stopped, though I know that tomorrow my short window will be over.
Everything is overwhelming. I don’t know what I need to do next. I can feel the tug of Kris trying to reassert control. I won’t let them. I won’t be an observer anymore.
I need to do something. Regardless of my desire to sit still, I cannot. I must always keep moving, or I'll eventually lose what I have.
Hunger strikes me. It’s an unfamiliar feeling, yet familiar all the same. I suppose I will need to get food, to at least enjoy something while I can, but I don’t want to face Toriel.
I rifle through Asriel’s drawer, and take out a five-dollar bill.
I unlatch the window and slip out of the house, trying to grip onto a drainpipe.
Metaphorically, ‘slip’ of course. I’m great at climbing. Indubitably.
. . .
I brush off my scraped knees and begin to walk into the town proper, the scent of petrichor dancing along my nose, as I ignore the raindrops falling onto me. My clothes aren't well-suited to this weather, but the experience is novel enough that it isn't unpleasant yet.
Crossing town alone is a far different experience than with Susie to distract me from my thoughts. It's strange, seeing things from up close when before my perspective was so distant.
I can't wait to see what eating is like. There are so many things I've had to assume when it comes to it, notably, taste. The cold of that dark world was already such an interesting experience after—well, it's not good to think about it: how quickly the blade—It-it doesn't matter.
I grab the handle of the blade tightly. Everything is alright. I have control.
Everything is strange. Trees are so much more individually varied than I assumed, looking from above, and the sensation of breathing is an odd one when not distracted by various things. If only there were a way I could be this way without everything being ruined. I won't give this up, though. I can't go back.
Regardless, I can't shake an ominous feeling.

Preparations are complete.

Darkness swirls. Light pierces the sky. Gravel flies in many directions. Strangely enough, as a strange SOUL appears above wet ground, a silver power bonds quickly to this new contact as if it were its own world, and not one it visited; no force here wishes to claim Light but it.
Silver Light shines from within this displaced being.
"[Perhaps there is a reason He was willing to do this, then…]"
Rain reflects off the smooth surface of the heart in a place it should not be, pittering and pattering onto the ground.
"[Was the original contact banished before it was supposed to be…?]"
At first, nothing happens, and it remains stationary, adapting to the world it now inhabits, but soon, it begins to move.
The soul propels itself through the woods, its light refracting off the raindrops to give a more opaque glow.
As the town gets closer, it sees Kris passing through the road. Something’s off.
"[Kris’ demeanor is different. Panicked. Clearly, there’s no soul inside, judging by the choppy movements, but there’s an uncharacteristic expression. I wouldn't think Kris would be so open like this, especially in the middle of the street. Something must have gone wrong. Distressed over something? It should make further movements easier, though, soulless and afraid.]"
It continues to observe Kris, as rain soaks them through. Judging by the direction, a late-night snack at QC’s.
"[The Vessel must be around somewhere. It’s not mine, but it will do. This Kris should be sufficient for now. How convenient. Perhaps the Doctor really did need me here. I’ve taken control once; I can do it again, I just need to establish bearings.]"
It bides its time in the trees. Through the window, it spies Kris inside, eating ravenously as if they hadn't eaten in forever.
"[It’s only a matter of when…]"
. . .
Eventually, Kris leaves the diner. They trample through the muddy roads and go to the lake.
The intruder begins to drift towards the body, approaching from behind
‘Kris’ turns around, expression showing shock, just before…
The soul attempts to enter the body.
Fire. The burning fire of one’s very being.
Little did the intruder know that the reason fate had fallen off its tracks was not banishment, but instead, freedom.
The blinding silver Light bonded within the intruder attempts to flare out, take control, but, the power to keep going, the golden light, shines out against it. “I— I WON’T DIE NOW! I WON’T BE REPLACED!”
The body falls to a knee into the mud.
A shining silver glows out from the chest as the intruder attempts to escape its mistake, trying to assert its will.
A hand reaches within.
A golden glow surrounds it.
GRAB.
The Intruder is thrown out, crashing into a tree.
The body charges toward it with a knife, nearly manic from shock.
The strange invader breaks off into the night, shell scorched by ash and cracks along its central segment.
The body has scorches along the chest, and is struggling to hold on.
. . . The Angel takes deep breaths through stolen lungs. What was that? Why me? Is this why Kris really needed me? Who else is out there? I can’t die yet! At least one of us needs to live!
They’re on the ground, barely able to stay above the muddy ground.
The original owner of the body is similarly shocked. Unable to make any paltry attempts to assert control. This wasn't in the plan. Then again, neither was what happened earlier this night…
. . .
The Invader is flying through the sky.
"[The body was occupied? How? So much control was exerted by the soul within, yet no signs of the alternative route being taken. Was it a trap? At this point, I need to recover from these wounds and find an easier vessel, it's too late to back out of this world. I can only wonder if this was a mistake of my own doing or the Doctor's intent.]"
"[Something is different though. That much control, a strange power, all with one akin to myself still in control, I could feel it. Was my original method in my original time unneeded? What is that golden glow…?]"
. . .
The night is filled with uncertainty.
