Haunted House is not for The Weak

Summary:

“You okay there?”

“WAAAA-!!”

It was Morro. The black haired guy looks at him, his more darker jade eyes look toward Lloyd’s more shiny green one. Waiting patiently for him to answer the question.

Well, Lloyd was quite sure he’s extremely scared and totally would bolt to the exit as soon as he saw one. But at the same time, he can’t help but feel like he is actively ruining their experience by being a completely scaredy cat.

Notes:

If you know me from How to Tame a Vile Father Universe, well- too bad, I’m still reluctant to share anything for it. I do however appreciate all the support being given to the latest update, if I ever continue it. It would be because of you guys.

Now on other note, I will be posting sunbreeze oneshots I had. Someone had actively using ‘seabreeze’ tag while actively hating on ‘greenwind’ somewhere, the audacity to hate on the ship I like while simultantiously using similar tag to sunbreeze is something I took personally.

In retaliation, I have create these oneshots.

My fellow sunbreezer, rejoice and accept this banquet for your chef is the pettiest pettar in pettidom (anyone know the reference?)

Anyway yeah enjoy.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Lloyd cannot believe he squeaked at the fake decorative skulls that were placed at the very first wall he saw inside the haunted house.

He belatedly wondered if this is a bad idea. Just like the one where he decided to eat hot sauce with ice cream to know if the ice cream could neutralize the spice levels, or that one time he thought it would be a great idea to hide behind the bushes while secretly watching the emo guy that might or might not be his ex girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

That upon further investigation (not. stalking!) now has become his… Well, boyfriend.

The emo in question, Morro, now had become Lloyd’s very own impromptu shield against the enemies (note: the still terrifying looking skull that had its eyes glowed for some reason). Morro seemingly unaffected by the scares. They walked slowly to the empty and narrow corridor, the horror music was dulled by the time they walked further, Lloyd was trying his best to be distracted.

So with that in mind, he tried plastering the best reassuring smile he could muster, “Y-yeah. Totally fine-”

“Don’t even try. You looked pale, and you squeaked at the fake skull right at the beginning.”

Apparently Morro was having none of his bullshit today.

Lloyd grumbled, refusing to admit anything. But Morro seems to also expect that reaction so he moves aside and suddenly Lloyd was up in the front.

… They probably have the first jumpscare soon, and Lloyd will have none of his defensive options to hide away.

Out of choice, Lloyd glued himself to Morro’s side. “Okay, fine, you win, whatever. I’m scared and this place is too spooky- isn’t this a school haunted house? Who is helping with the design, they’re overdoing it!”

His admission was quick and started to sound like a ramble, but he was sure Morro would catch some of the words and piece it together anyway. Judging from the pleased look on the other’s face, he totally did catch a lot of those admissions and enjoyed it tremendously.

Is Morro being a jackass right now? Yes.

Can Lloyd shove him and walk away with his dignity? No.

He couldn’t find the exit sign anywhere, maybe because it was still close to the start of the house itself. Even if he ditch Morro now, Lloyd is sure he would manage to get lost and further prolong his own misery.

Morro of course knows all of this.

“See? It wasn’t that hard to admit, was it?”

Before Lloyd would come up with any smart retort to that, Morro had already put up Lloyd's green hood above his head and tightened it up, almost fully covering his face. Then the emo guy himself wrapped his arm around Lloyd’s back.

That was totally an overboard protective measurement. But Lloyd wasn’t going to complain now that he felt extremely safe from the scary jumpscare.

“Just follow my lead, I will get us out of here.” Morro said, playfully nudging on Lloyd’s hood string.

Lloyd obediently nodded. His heart was racing so hard he barely realized the first jumpscare was already up.
