Her boots echoed in the turbulent town, surrounded by calm amidst the storm. Skeletons marched past, lathered in blood, stoic to the screams of the surrounding citizens. She held no pity for those who stood in her way, only a dull ache that longed to join those in the bonfire. Yet their hands moved on its own, sword gleaming with void, pointed down at the one she always called friend, why wouldn't he-
“-MOVE!” Mors screamed, awaking in a cold sweat. Their eyes darted open, fear flickering on her face for a moment. Realizing it to have just been a dream, she let out a sigh and stared up at the ceiling of her dorm. She already knew she wouldn't be going back to sleep any time soon, she could practically hear the screams of the past echoing around her. At least they requested their bedroom to be soundproofed, otherwise they probably would've been called up to talk with Second or something about her… nightmares.
"Fuck this," Mors mumbled, sitting up and sliding on their glasses. After going through her usual routine - putting on a simple white cloth mask instead of her usual metal one, tying her hair into a ponytail, and slipping on her gloves - she grabbed a coat lying on a chair and left her dorm. She started to walk towards the library as she put on the coat, hands in her pockets. A nice hot cup of her usual morning drink - root beer and black coffee, if anyone ever asked - and some old ghost reports to read always helped.
