Jack Frost wanted revenge.
In the back of his head, he still thought he should be Santa.
In the back of his head—
At times, Jack held a one-track mind and thus missed the bigger picture, such as how he wanted to seek revenge on the newest Santa simply because he thought he should be Santa instead.
Nor did he think Holly could do the job.
Which was a bit here or there as Connor managed to come through, which—
Jack lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling. “What happened?”
The previous Santa looked down at him. “And you thought Connor couldn’t do it.”
Jack let out a groan, knowing that while his magic was potent, he couldn’t go up against Santa's magic, which was why he coveted the role. That, and he liked the idea of having the power to stick everyone on the naughty list despite having been a very naughty child himself.
