Work Text:

Atsushi fumbled with the laces of his skates, fingers twisting and twirling around the thin fabric. It wasn't that he couldn't tie his shoes, he was just having trouble getting it to tie together.

Akutagawa was beside him, patiently waiting for the white-haired man to finish tying his shoes.

"Ryuu, stop smirking at my struggles." Atsushi threatened, eyes narrowing at his boyfriend. Akutagawa, of course, since he had to be good at everything, hadn't struggled to do up his skates.

So annoying, thought Atsushi, why is he good at everything I'm not?

There wasn't a real reason for that, Akutagwa was just special, apparently.

Which wasn't new information.

God damn him for being pretty while doing it.

Damn him for making it hard to look away.

"Would you like help, Jinko?" Akutagawa offered, gesturing to Atsushi's skates.

Atsushi groaned, but he nodded. He did need help, which was embarrassing, but Akutagawa would tease him either way.

"Yes please." he said, straightening his leg so Akutagawa could easily tie his skates. The black haired man crouched down and easily tied Atsushi's skates for him.

"I'm surprised you can't tie these. I'm the one who's never skated before." Akutagawa remarked.

Wait. Ryuu had never skated before?

He could have fooled Atsushi with how easily he'd tied his skates.

So Atsushi would be the one leading him around the ice.

That brought a grin onto Atsushi's face. Hell yes.

"Really? You've never skated?" asked Atsushi, playfully raising an eyebrow as Akutagawa tied his other skate. "That's… surprising."

Akutagawa snorted a laugh. "Really now. They didn't exactly give us skating lessons in the Port Mafia."

Good point.

"That's fair."

"Where did you learn to skate, anyway, Jinko?"

Another great question. Atsushi grew up in an orphanage for most of his life, so it would be weird if he learned to skate there. Yosano had actually been the one to teach him last winter.

"I learned at the ADA. Yosano-san taught me." Atsushi explained.

"That explains it. Done." Akutagawa said, standing up on his skates.

"Let's go, yeah?"

Atsushi's skating experience paid off in the most funny way possible. Akutagawa was stumbling across the ice while Atsushi gracefully glided across the ice beside him.

"…don't laugh. We can't all be good at everything, Jinko." Ryuu grumbled.

"I'll laugh as much as I want. It's funny." Atsushi chuckled, offering Akutagawa his hand. The black haired man took it, cold skin hitting Atsushi's gloved hands.

Akutagawa grumbled, slipping on the ice and falling down yet again. Atsushi couldn't hold back his full body laughter anymore, it was just too funny.

"I swear to everything I will summon Rashoumon and have it skate for me. Wasn't this supposed to be romantic…" Akutagawa lamented, taking the were-tiger's hand yet again, and then putting an arm around his shoulders to stable himself.

"Would Rashoumon even know how to skate?" Atsushi asked, poking his boyfriend's cheek.

Akutagawa was silent.

He rolled his eyes again, gripping Atsushi like a lifeline.

"This was supposed to be fun, were-tiger." Ryuu seethed, stumbling again as he and Atsushi glided across the ice.

"It is fun.

"For you, maybe."

He had a point.

Atsushi was thoroughly enjoying Akutagawa's struggles.

He hadn't expected to enjoy this so much, but he was. He wasn't really expecting to be laughing this much either. But he was, and he was enjoying it.

He hoped that Ryuu would start enjoying himself too, eventually.

Eventually.

"Shit—"

Akutagawa fell again, but this time, he dragged Atsushi down with him. The white haired man landed hard on his ass and let out a yelp.

"Dude, did you have to drag me down with you?" Atsushi grumbled. "Such an ass."

"You love me though, no?" Akutagawa teased, raising whatever he had of an eyebrow. They were there, he always said, just invisible.

He did love him.

More than he should.

"I do love you. So much, actually." Atsushi replied, a soft smile on his face as he helped himself and Akutagawa up to their feet.

"I love you too." Akutagawa answered.

Skating didn't go well for the two. Even though Atsushi knew how to skate, he wasn't the best at it. And of course, Akutagawa was terrible. So after a while, they got off the ice, smiled at each other, then both boys leaned in for a kiss at the exact same time.

Their lips met and it was soft and beautiful, like soft snow falling onto the ground.

When they broke apart, they were still smiling.

Atsushi reached up, brushing the front strands of Akutagawa's hair out of his face.

So pretty.

So damn pretty.

He pressed another kiss to Akutagawa's lips smiling as the older boy let out a soft gasp. Atsushi's tongue swiped into the mafioso's lips, causing yet another gasp to exit his mouth.

When Atsushi finally pulled away, Akutagawa was breathless and panting. Atsushi's breathing was heavy was well, but much less so. Ryuu was just so easy to rile up! It was so fun riling him up.

"You know I love you, yeah?" Atsushi reminded Akutagawa.

"I love you too." Akutagawa replied, grabbing Atsushi's hand.

"So much." Atsushi murmured.

"I know."
