Work Text:
Terrible night.
All the other horses were let out and I wasn’t allowed to run with them. Hurumph.
Some horrible beasts rendered the air with noise. Master Ferny won’t let me run!
So I have a new master. He is very little and worried for me. Still he and his companions loaded me up and we’re leaving this place and I am glad to be rid of it. The new Master is called Samwise. He threw an apple at Master Ferny and hit him squarely. I like him already. He’s called me Bill and has pockets full of apples. Happy start to an adventure.
We have had many days of adventures. Mr Sam has ensured I have eaten well. He talks to me as a friend. We have stopped at a hill the tall one called Weathertop. Though I cannot climb it. Mr Sam and Mr Pippin stayed with me at the bottom in a nice little sheltered hollow. Why the others had to climb I’ll never know. This hollow is safe enough. Mr Sam found fresh water!
Something Wicked this way comes! I must warn the herd!
Poor Mr Frodo. I will carry him.
I think we’re lost. It smells like trolls. I definitely think we’re lost. Poor Mr Frodo is so sick. I will find the safest path and get us back on the road. Follow me herd!
Oh! pointy-eared friend to all! My Dame told me about them. Mr Frodo will be safe now. Yes Giant pony! Ride with the pointy eared friend and save Mr Frodo! I shall bring the others.
Hello homely home. So much nice food here, such a nice shelter. So many lovely Friends. Mr Sam says they are called Elves. Mr Frodo will get better here. I knew the giant pony wouldn’t let him down.
The herd is leaving again. We have food and rest here, but there are now 10 of us. I think the others in the herd want another adventure.
Wait we’re resting. Here? If you say so, but this land is too quiet.
No! I don’t want to carry wood! I know I’m good and healthy now and have had quite enough to eat, but must I? Well Since it’s for you Mr Sam.
Snow is so cold! I’ll protect you herd! I promise!
Hurumph! The one they call Mr Gimli is much heavier than Mr Frodo. Can’t he walk this narrow snowed ledge?
Leaving the snow and good riddance.
I don’t like how this new land smells.
TENTICLES!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
RUNNNNNNING
RUUUUUNNNNN!!!!
MR SAM KEEP UP!!!!
MR SAM?
Mr Sam? Mr Frodo?
Oh no the monster got them.
Going back to the homely home. Maybe Mr Sam went back too.
Oh. I can’t find it. Think I’ll wonder for a bit and see.
So hungry! There’s food here, but I’m so hungry. I miss clippers too. Never thought I’d think that, but I’m all shaggy.
I miss Mr Sam. He kept me nice and fed.
Hungry.
Hmmm. That’s Bree. I’d swear by my mane. Well better some food then no food.
No Mr Ferny! Happy day! The stables are nice.
on nom nom nom nom.
on nom nom nom.
Mr Sam? Mr Sam! You didn’t get eaten by tentacles!
Off to Mr Sam’s home! Though I have a good deal of baggage, this seems a good road for the herd.
Ooooo! Mr Ferny is here! I can smell him. Never fed me enough, or let me run. How rude of him. He threw something at Mr Merry and it’s up to me to defend the herd! I kicked him hard I did! Heard him cry as he ran off into the wood. And good riddance to bad masters.
Oh that was a rough time! But Mr Sam’s herd is all safe and he found himself a mate! She smells of flowers and spring. I like her. We are riding out on another adventure.
It has been a nice walk though green fields, until we met with that nice elf, Elrond and his herd. We travelled together to the sea, but most of them went on a boat. Poor Mr Sam was very sad as he watched his friend sail away. I tried to cheer him up, by waffling his hair, but he was sad indeed. Mr Merry and Mr Pippin travelled back with us, going their way. It was not until we got to Sam’s house and mate, did he cheer up. I am glad we are home with our herd.
