She looked in the mirror, frowning slightly. There was nothing that she didn’t care for regarding her appearance - her tan skin, her perfectly circular cheek makeup, her blue hair. She had even gotten used to actually having her eyes open, rather than keeping them closed all of the time.
Still, Miku couldn’t help but look at the old picture taped on her mirror. It was taken back when her show was still running. In the photo were her cast mates and old friends - Meiko, Kaito, Luka, Rin, and Len, as well as Miku herself. She had looked so much younger then, so much happier. Was that the reason their show had lost popularity - did they plan on stopping production when she stopped being young and cute?
Miku tried to smile, the signature one she always did at the end of an episode. Wrinkles formed, and she frowned again.
She sat in silence at the mirror for a few minutes before she felt a pair of arms wrap around her.
“Hey, pretty girl~”
Miku sighed, a small smile forming on her face. She knew exactly who was behind her.
“What are you doing here, Yi?”
“Can’t I check in on my tiánxīn every once in a while?” Yi batted her eyes, feigning innocence.
Miku chuckled. “I’m fine, Yi-Yi, don’t worry.” But she still couldn’t help looking at the photo taped on her mirror. It wasn’t like she looked bad, but…surely someone as beautiful as Yi could date anyone she wanted. Why was it her?
Yi noticed her staring at the photo and hugged her a little tighter, kissing her cheek. “Aw, Mimi… you’re so much more than your show. You’re the most beautiful, kind, funny woman I could’ve ever met. Anyone would be lucky to know you.”
Miku flushed a little. Yi wasn’t normally so sweet and encouraging, at least not to others. “I…thanks, Yi.”
“There’s no need to thank me. I’m just so grateful that you’re my partner.”
Miku looked back at the mirror at her and Yi, smiling slightly.
