Lewis thought having Captain Chimney as his dad was the coolest thing ever. He especially loved when Maddie would take him out of daycare at day’s end to go visit Chim at work. The reason why he loved it was obvious: The fire pole was his very favourite thing ever!
Lewis wasn’t strong enough to go down by himself, so he would hold tight to the pole while Uncle Buck held him by the armpits, then Chim caught him at the bottom. No matter how much help he needed, he thought it was such a rush!
“Ms. Maddie, can I go down again?” Lewis looked up at her, beaming.
“Of course you can.” Maddie agreed with a smile.
