Chapter Text

Twilight can't really bring herself to care that she can't really remember where she is, she knows she should, but.. she trusts the spirits and nice animals to keep her safe in this random forest she woke up in, she worries about her sisters whereabouts but she can't really do all too much with the amount of knowledge she has about where they landed.

It's a beautiful forest truly, with grass as green as emeralds, trees that look and feel healthy and animals that thrum with life, the wind caresses the leaves and bushes, and she can't help but laugh when it feels like the wind is caressin' her hair aswell.

When she woke up, she was a little freaked out, all alone and separated frpm everyone, but then all the animals responded to her growin' distress, the birds chirped, the foxes played with her and the very air just radiated comfort and warmth.

She knows she should probably go look for the chain, as, they must have been portaled in their sleep then separated, but she doesn't exactly wanna leave the forest she found herself in, incase it's not safe outside.

She shivers a little, buryin' deeper into her wolf pelt when the wind turns slightly colder, suddenly she hears footsteps comin' from infront of her, and instinctively, starts to climbs a tree to hide, like she did back in ordon, grippin' onto a sturdy lookin' branch, she learns that it is as sturdy as it looks, and uses it as a perch.

The person (who twilight can now make out from her perch on the tree) looks elderly yet strong, with kind lookin' eyes and a kind lookin' smile, he wears a green and white tunic, along with a green bandana hat, and brown pants.

He walks forward, and twilight, assured by her gut feelin' that the man won't harm her if he sees her, leans forward on her perch in the trees, shes curious about what he's doin'.

The man pauses for a moment lookin' up at the trees, then he looks at her tree, she shimmies back a bit, cautious but curious.

Lookin' at her tree, he looks up and up, before spottin' her, "Oh! Well hello there young lady, say, whatcha doin' all the way up there?.

Twilight stays quiet for a few moments, her anxiety swiftly risin' with every second that passes, before raisin' her voice slightly so that he can hear her, "u-um.., w-well ya' s-see... i cain't 'member how i got 'ere, an' i' ain't know w-where ma' sisters are neither, so im jus' a lil bi' lost, sir."

She doesn't know if he's goin' to help her or leave her, but she kinda hopes he wants to help her.

Smith looks up at the little girl hiding in the trees, and feels his heart melt, she's obviously frightened, doesn't know where she is. when he felt her magic, he assumed it was someone else, he's glad he decided to follow it anyway.

The little girl looks a little roughed up, with small scratches and black marks on her face and scars covering what he can see of her bared skin, she wears a strange wolf pelt with a strange necklace that radiates dark magic, she also wears foreign clothes, with a belt and bag over her shoulder, her dirty blond hair is unkempt and messy, and her bangs cover her face a little.

He doesn't step too close, just incase he scares her, using his most soothing voice, he calls out to her, "why don't you come down from that tree and I'll see if i can make you something to eat, you might get hurt all the way up there."

He watches as she processes the words, she looks contemplative before deciding to shout down to him a second time, "U-uhh.. ya' gotta promise me somethin' firs'."

She looks nervous when shouting thos words, as if he would refuse her request, "sure, as long as its not unreasonable, alright."

Smith doubted the little girl would ask for something unreasonable, but just in case.

She looks like she's working up the courage to shout down at him, what it is she wants him to promise her, "ya' gotta promise tha' ya' ain't gon' hurt me if i go down."

Smith feels his heart break a tiny bit, no one that young should be afraid of a grown adult hurting them, "i promise for as long as you want to stay over, that i will never, ever lay a hand on you."

He says it with so much conviction that she looks startled slightly, she thinks on it for a moment before seeming to make a decision.

Twilight knows that adults can lie, have lied to her, but she desperately wants to trust this one, and shes startin' to worry about her sisters.

If wind or wild saw her trustin' this random stranger because of a promise, they would not be happy.

She climbs off the tree slowly, relaxing her death grip on the branch she'd perched on, when shes on solid ground again, she turns her head to look at the stranger, he still seems kind, so she approaches slowly.

The man kneels infront of her with his hands out and open for her to see, "well hello there, its nice to meet you, little lady, my names smith, you don't have to tell me your name if you dont want to, now would you just like to follow me, or would you like to hold my hand, parts of the woods beyond here, aren't certain to be the kindest."

Twilight doesn't really wanta leave without her sisters, but the stra- mister smith might help her find them once she tells him what they look like, "alright, well i-im twilight, thank ya' sir."

She reaches out for his hand, lookin' at him the whole time to see if he's showin' any signs of lyin', by the time she touches his hand, she hadn't seen any lies yet, so she grabs his hand and holds it for comfort.

Mister smith, smiles kindly at her, "its nice to meet you twilight, shall we get going then?".

She nods after a sec, and when he stands she notes that hes not too taller than her, still taller but sorta like how fours just a lil taller till she grows a bit more, with her hand in his, he leads her out of the woods.

Chapter 2: A wolf with no pack will never survive alone.

Summary:

Twilight thinks about everything thats happened while alone.

Chapter Text

Twilight sorta misses bein' the oldest, sure she wasn't oldest by much, but she was still oldest, now though, she's bein' treated like she can't do nothin' when it comes to surviving.

She sorta gets it, in a way, but she can't help hatin' the way she's treated.

It's like she's not the hero of twilight and light, treatin' her like a lil' kid.

Even time does the same when she's only two years older, she can't even be wolfie in peace without someone checkin' up on her.

It's nice, don't get her wrong It's just- she's not a vulnerable kid, she's the hero of fuckin' twilight, and it's like they don't realise that.

She went on a whole adventure aswell, just because she's young don't mean nothin' when the whole world wantsta make you eat shit.

She's survived alot, is her point and she don't like it that it ain't bein' acknowledged just 'cause she's young.

Hell, zant didn't care, ganondorf ain't care either, so why should she, sure zeldaine and midnight cared, but she's not allowed in the capital of hyrule without bein' hunted 'cause of her twili shard and the twili magic surrounding her, and midnights gone.

Ordon also cared, but she ain't been there in a while due to this whole portal thingy, she wonders what her lil' brother Colin will say when she sees him again, Rusl and Uli, aswell as the other kids and adults.

She wonders if they're ok, it's been a few months since she got recruited, and they haven't been to her era since.

She hopes they're ok, she misses them alot.

Chapter 3

Summary:

The reverse trope of Twilight being the protective one, now its Time and Wild.

Chapter Text

Twilight doesn't really seem to notice it when time or wild act a bit more protective with her than the others.

Hyrule knows that Twilight herself is a bit of a mother-hen, but she can't help but chuckle when she gets the mother-henning instead of her doing it.

She also knows she's not the only one who's noticed either, the first incident she can recall was when all of them had to go to one of wilds villages to restock.

Hyrule wasn't the most comfortable when it came to villages as most of her own villages didn't really like her due to her blood curse, but wilds hateno village was rather welcoming.

Walking around, she spots Twilight walking with Wild and Wind, she decides to join them as she's not really doing anything worth all her time.

Before she can walk over however, she sees Wild glaring towards someone when Twilights not looking, following her line of sight she sees shes glaring at someone standing infront of the inn, following his line of sight she realises why Wilds glaring, from where she stands, she can tell Twilight doesn't notice the eyes on her as shes talking to Wind, but Wild did seem to notice.

Wild moves infront of Twilight discreetly and when Twilight looks towards her, she stops glaring and smiles up at her, Hyrules a bit surprised, she thought Twilight was the protective one since shes the mentor, but seems like she was a little bit off.

"Finally notice it?"

She jumps slightly as Legends voice seems to come randomly from behind her, whipping around she sees Legends smug face, "what do you mean finally, how long have they been like that?,"

"Since Wild met Twilight, did you seriously not notice them?."

"No! I thought Wild just preferred to be near Twilight in general, along with Time... Fuck."

Legend laughs high and freely.

Warriors knows her little sister Time, even if shes not the little Mask from the war a bit ago, so she notices when her little sister seems to form a strong bond with the resident Rancher that she calls Pup.

She sees it when she looks at Times face when shes talking or looking at Twilight, how the fact that thats her blood relative seems to echo in most things she does, Time would say she doesn't have favourites, but its obvious that her and Twilight have a special sort of bond.

She remembers when she started to notice, more and more often when in battle.

Warriors can't see the others without moblins or bokoblins getting in the way, not to mention the rest of the supposed monsters further within.

She digs her blade into a blue bokoblin then rips it out while she slashes a red one, they're lucky that none of them are black-blooded, since with the amount that keeps coming and coming they most likely wouldn't be able to keep up.

Scanning the area with her slight pause in enemies, she sees Four slashing at a silver moblin, while Wild shoots at it with arrows upon arrows, alternating between shooting bokoblins as well so Four can focus on the silver moblin, Wind and Sky seem to be faring well with the both of them just slightly out of breath from holding off some blue moblins, Legend uses her fire rod while Hyrule uses her boomerang, sometimes shouting so legend can hear her, over the roar of fire and battle.

When she tries looking for Time or Twilight she can't seem to find them, she doesn't get given much of a chance to panic since the hoards of red and blue bokoblins starts up again, and she quickly focuses on the battlefield again.

The next time she sees Time and Twilight are when the battles slowly dying out, with Twilight shooting and slashing at multiple bokoblins while Time goes for the rest of the moblins surrounding Hyrule and Legend.

By the time the battlefields finally gone quiet, shes too tired to question where Time and Twilight went off to.

But she has to make sure everyones accounted for and well before they do anything, "quick check off, as im sure everyone just wants to get back to camp unless you have received life threatening injuries, call out please."

She scans her sisters as they shout out affirmations, Wild and Four both look largely ok with more than a little blood on them but thankfully none being their blood, Wind and Sky seem about the same with minor scratches that just need time and rest to heal, Hyrule and Legend are both panting while Hyrule bandages a small cut on Legends arm.

Twilight looks slightly more bloodied but she assures her that its just because she tends to fight very physically and head on in battles, Time looks fine but she won't stop scanning Twilight like she might fall over any second now.

As they make their way back to camp once everything's sorted, she notices the way Time doesn't stray from Twilights side, likethe Rancher might be hiding a potential wound.

When they make it back, nearly everyone collapses on their bedrolls in exhaustion, Wild moves over to the cooking pot to start making something easy to keep down, and Twilight sits on a log nearby to keep her company.

As Twilight talks with Wild, she sees Time move over to sit next to Twilight, and she sees her little sisters eyes linger on Twilight like she might disappear, Twilight leans towards her mentor and, unconsciously, leans into the hand Time moves towards her head, she is shaking as her hand starts stroking Twilights hair.

That's not the only time warriors noticed them.

As long as she pays attention, she notices all the little times Wild or Time looked out or freaked out for Twilight, it seems they have an even stronger bond than she initially assumed.

she's glad they found eachother, along with the rest of the chain.

Chapter 4: A scared animal will bite and claw first

Summary:

Twilight runs into some trouble.

Chapter Text

The trees cover the night sky, there are no animals to be heard right now, only the faint sound of hooves and shoutin’.

Twilight runs as fast as she can, she can't remember where camp was. The trees far too thick to see the sky.

Her paws thud on the grass, sticks and leaves as she runs, tryin’ to get away.

Her side aches uncomfortablely as she runs, makin’ her unsteady and uncoordinated in her mad dash.

She can't feel the pain too much from the adrenaline, but her paws slip slightly every time she does feel it.

She doesn't know what to do, she's just runnin’ for safety somewhere.

The only reason she stops runnin’, is when she's no longer able to.

Somethin’ clamps around her leg, makin’ a snappin’ sound, the pain only registerin’ moments later.

She howls in pain, tears spring to her eyes as she falls to the ground, causin’ whatever's got her leg to tighten and shift, causin’ her more pain.

She can't look down, she doesn't want to look down either, she's in too much pain to act or think rationally.

Now that she's slow’n down, the adrenaline in her system fades as exhaustion and pain flood her.

Whines and whimpers make their way out of her mouth, her body aches as her animalistic cries echo out in the night.

She's exhausted, but she's in too much pain to sleep, she still doesn't know what's got her leg.

Her visions blurry as she hears hooves runnin’ and voices shoutin’, she only barely remembers runnin’ from some bad folk.

She already has a hard time breathin’ through the pain, it feels like her legs gettin’ torn off, and the wound on her side throbs insistently.

Turnin’ back to hylian isn't an option, and her head's goin’ fuzzy, she can't think straight anymore.

She tries not to panic, but it's useless as she's already hyperventilating and shakin’, she's also losin’ consciousness, which is also bad since she's got no clue where she ran off too, just wantin’ to be somewhere safe.

She's barely conscious when she starts seein’ blurry figures of folks and horses, she can't remember if they're nice or not, and she doesn't want to risk it.

Blood pools beneath her as the blurry figures talk in front of her, when one of them crouches down to her with a mockin’ smell on them, she snarls and snaps her jaw, even if it brings pain, the figure doesn't move or flinch instead movin’ to jab at her side cruelly,

She yelps,  then whines in pain as the movement jostles her body, the figure laughs lightly.

Everythin’ hurts as she tries to keep still, breathin’ heavily while stabs of hot intense pain radiate from her leg and side.

Her furs wet with her own blood, the metallic smell of it invadin’ her nose, she wants to gag, but she doesn't have the energy too.

She wants to go home, she wants to cook with wild, listen as wind tells her stories, talk about survival with hyrule, look at legends stash of things with her, relax as four either braids her hair, reads her a book, spar with her or have a walk with her, she wants warriors to help her practice formal sword fightin’, she wants to listen to sky playin’ the harp again and time playin’ games with her.

She wants to see her pack again, she doesn't want to die when she's finally found somethin’ that makes it worth it to live.

Black dots dance around her vision as consciousness starts to fade, it might be from the pain or the exhaustion or maybe the fact that she can't really breathe.

All she knows is that she'll probably never see her pack again, if she wakes that is.

She kinda hopes that she doesn't, but with her luck she doubts the goddesses'll give her a break, hylia specifically.

Right before everything goes black, she hears a scream of pain and shouts of surprise, along with eight pairs of hylian steps and one horse.

After that though.

Nothing.
