Work Text:

In the destruction of the airport, there were two bodies of the remaining Hunting Dogs. Although despite that status, only one was covered in blood, while the other in bruises. The bloodied one had a sword stuck in his forearm and dry blood stuck in the scalp of his hair. The bruised had open- yet not bleeding, cuts from a sword hours ago, and was covered in fist sized bruises of the other along his upper body from the former.

They stood there, breathless, neither of the two moving to make another move. The bruised could smell the blood emitting from the other's body, irritating his senses. The third one that had previously been at the scene had fled moments before, avoiding the conflict between the two Hunting Dogs.

"Tecchou." The bruised spat out, not bothering to turn his head as he kept speaking, "give me a quick run down of what's happened."

The bloodied one, Tecchou, smiled slightly as he nodded and started to explain the situation to the bruised.

The recap consisted of the fight between Kenji and Tecchou, the fight between Fukuchi and Fukuzawa, and their current situation of Dostoevsky attempting to run away. Tecchou left out the part of himself not participating or paying attention much to what is going on due to his fixation on finding the bruised, Jouno.

"And- that should be it." His voice was steady as he finished the recap, his companion sighing at everything.

"Alright, we'll see it they need our assistance. After something first, though," The bruised pinched the bridge of his nose and turned his head in the other's direction. "We're patching up your arm."

"Jouno. We should be more worried about you- you were the one that was kidnapped by the vampires!"

"And I'm fine currently! You're the one actively bleeding out!" Jouno's response was sharp and calculated, expecting the worry from his comrade. "After I was turned into a vampire, it stopped the wounds from bleeding. Yes, it hurts, but you're the one still actively bleeding."

They had gone back and forth for a few minutes, before Tecchou finally took the hint and held his arm out, offering for the bruised to take it and assess the damage. Jouno carefully held the arm in his hands, feeling his gloves being coated in blood just a moment later, it was a miracle there wasn't much on his skin from the previous fight, Tecchou musn't of used his right as much of his left. His hand made its way down Tecchou's arm, feeling the material of the uniform stick to his partner's skin. Soon his hands touched the blade that struck him- just below the elbow. It was a miracle he wasn't passed out yet, but Jouno could tell he wasn't far off.

"We might need to tear this part of the uniform off so we can properly assess it, because all I can tell is that it's still bleeding and it's a huge injury." Jouno clicked his tongue as he found his knife that had been thrown to the ground earlier.

The two sat on the ground to avoid standing any longer- they were both tired after the entire day. Jouno peeled the sleeve off the skin and almost gagged at the smell of the blood and the sound of the muscles in his arm struggling to stay together. If Jouno was struggling just from those factors, he was sure that the sight was worse, another moment where the blindness came in handy. Although said blindness did make it harder to work on the current injury. Once the sleeve had been torn off from the skin, all that was left was the two halves of what used to be an arm. He could hear Tecchou's usually unwavering heartbeat, now taking a step or two out of beat, not the usual rhythm he was used to.

"We can't take the sword out, otherwise you'd bleed out more." Jouno mumbled, more to himself as a note. "I'll do what I can do stop the bleeding, and then we'll get you some proper medical attention once we're out of here."

"You don't like hospitals though?" The question came more like a statement, and the former sighed as he gave a disappointed look towards Tecchou.

"Yes, and who said I was going with you?" He didn't get a response as he took the Cape from his back and tore some of the ends off.

Jouno took his partner's arm once again with one hand and held the cloth in the other, moving the cloth around the wound. The arm fought against the pressure slightly, squirming and pulsing under Jouno's touch. Tecchou's heartbeat continued to speed up as the arm was wrapped, the two slices slowly squishing together, making a horrible sound of flesh and muscles mixing. The nerve damage was enough for Tecchou's ability to feel everything going on go down, but it wouldn't numb it fully. Jouno was sure that he was fighting the urge to simply faint at this point, he'd endured worse, sure. But in all scenarios he'd gotten medical attention as soon as possible. Currently, the man had lost a lot of blood over a period of multiple hours, from both his head and arm specifically. Plus his body was most likely in a lot of pain from the consistent amount of work he's been doing, ranging from moving consistently to fighting (and losing).

After a couple of minutes, majority of the arm was wrapped in strips of Jouno's cape, Tecchou was on the verge of passing out, but he pushed himself awake as he focused on the one in front of him, handling the wound he caused with such caution. He knew this attitude was temporary, and they'd go back to their usual banter soon enough.

Jouno didn't move his hands from their position, holding Tecchou's injured arm. He seemed to be contemplating something, and Jouno never did such things. Tecchou had learnt that his partner would always have some kind of plan in mind, that he would never second guess himself nor hesitate on a decision, and yet here he was.

"I'm.. sorry. I guess-" He faced away with a frown, but didn't move his hands at all.

"You were being controlled. There is no need to apologise." Tecchou smiled softly at the idea of Jouno apologising, but he knew it would never happen outside of this. And he wasn't even apologising correctly! This whole situation wasn't his fault.

Jouno scoffed, turning his head to face his partner again. Tecchou's face was pale, and Jouno could hear how tired the muscles in his body were. The blood loss was catching up to him, and as much as keeping him awake would help them get medical attention, he seemed to need the rest more than anything.

"Rest, I'm going to go get some medics." Jouno let go of the wrapped arm and stood up, Tecchou frowned and nodded, folding his cape to use it as a pillow so that he wouldn't ruin his body more than it already was.

Jouno faded into the distance with his ability as Tecchou watched him, the world around him soon fading into darkness, the exhaustion and blood loss finally catching up.

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed, I honestly enjoyed writing this because I've had such a hyperfixation on these two and ESPECIALLY this chapter as of late! (My friends are sick of hearing about them loll)

I might do a sequel to show how these two are going- but only if its wanted ( ´∀`)

Any and all interactions are appreciated!!
