So we need to go find Herm–,” Percy was saying until Grover interrupted and said, “There are 2 powerful demigods here, kind of like you, Percy.” “Another child of the big 3?” Annabeth said back. “It would have to be,” Grover said, “Only children of the big 3 could produce a scent this strong.”Well, if they have been safe this long, and with the type of quest we are on, I think it would be best if we leave them here until after the quest,” Annabeth said back. “Well then, let's go find Herm–” Percy said as a young boy around 10 knocked him off his feet, while running from his sister.
“Sorry, hi, I'm Nico Di Angelo,” Nico said to Percy as he got up. “NICO, you have to start paying attention to your surroundings. Sorry for him, I'm Bianca Di Angelo”. “Oh, it's fine”, “Hi, l’m Percy Jackson,” Percy said back to Nico and Bianca, as Grover pulled Percy and Annabeth aside, “These are the 2 demigods I was talking about,” Grover said in a huddle. “Demigods?” Nico said, confused after overhearing Grovers' huddle. “Demigods like the children of gods,” Nico said, trying to see if he was thinking of the same demigods that Grover is. “Yes, like the children of gods,” Annabeth said back. “Wait, you're a Syatr,” Nico said, pointing at Grovers' legs. “Wait, you can see my true legs!!” Grover said with shock. “Well, according to Nico, you just said we were demigods, so that would make sense,” Bianca said. “Well, now that you know,” Percy said, “You will have to come with us on our quest.” As Annabeth pulls Percy into a huddle, “We can't take them,” Annabeth said, “Well, we kind of have, so it's too dangerous to leave them here, and we don't have time to take them back to camp so they have to come with us.” Grover said, “I agree with Percy,” Nico said, scaring Percy and Annabeth and joining them in the huddle. Percy jumps back, being spooked, “Nico, you can't do that to people.” Bianca said, “Hey, it's not my fault they don't whisper when they try to talk about something they don't want us to hear.” Nico said back. “I mean, Nico does have a point,” Percy said. “Percy,” Annabeth said, “But since everyone in the building knows now, I guess Nico Bianca, we are going to go and have a conversation with Hermes to give us information that will help us on our quest.” “Well, let's go,” Bianca said as they started walking towards where Hermes is, and Percy and Nico start talking and Bianca, Annabeth and Grover talking.
“So, Nico, what have you been doing in the hotel and Casino since you can't do the Casino part of this place?” Percy said. “Well, there is a card game called MythoMagic that lets all of the people who can't gamble play.” “Wait, I play that game as well,” Percy said as Nicos' eyes lit up like it was the 4th of July, as Percy and Nico talked about MythoMagic for the whole walk to Hermes, with Grover butting in a few times. During Nico and Percy's conversation. Annabeth starts talking to Bianca, “So, how is it being here for a decent amount of time?” “Although I don't remember how long Nico and I have been here exactly, Nico and I have had a great time because there has always been enough food, water, and entertainment for both of us, and otherwise a very comfortable and great time.” “Hey, Bianca,” Annabeth said. “Do you remember when you entered the hotel?” “July 15th,” Bianca said back, “July 15th, 1942”. “WHAT?” Annabeth said, back shocked, “Uh, July 15th, 1942, what's so weird about that?” “Bianca, it's June 15th, 2005,” as they finally walk up to Hermes. “We are finishing this later,” Annabeth and Bianca agreed. “I see you added 2 to your party, Percy Jackson,” as Percy and Annabeth talk to Hermes, with Nico listening in on the conversation. As they realize that Hermes has wasted their time on their quest so they run out with the keys to Hermes' car.
“Percy, now that we are out of the Casino, how are Nico and Bianca going to defend themselves because we didn't bring spare swords?” Annabeth said, realizing that Nico and Bianca are now defenseless in a world where being defenseless gets you killed faster than on the streets of Chicago. “Well, I did not think of that,” Percy said back. “Well, what's the next step of the quest?” Nico said, Maybe the next part of the quest is safe enough for us to find weapons for my sister and me. “It seems that simple, but it is never that simple,” Grover said. As they take a taxi to Santa Monica, talking along the way, they split into 2 main conversations: Percy, Nico, and Grover, and Annabeth and Bianca. “So, back to our conversation in the hotel”, Annabeth said, “if you're from before WWII in 1942, how are you still alive? That hotel may be slow, but that's still 63 years in the hotel.” “I couldn't tell you, Annabeth.” “Well, if we aren't going to be able to find any answers about how that's possible, I'll tell you about the quest we are on,” Annabeth said, and as they talked about the quest, Percy, Nico, and Grover were also having a conversation, but less about the time problem because the 3 of them collectively agreed that it was very cool that Nico was from the 1940’s. They got to talking about mythomagic again, and the very real Greek gods, as Percy shows off some of his powers with a water bottle, and then their conversation turned to who Nico and Bianca's parents were, and at that point, Annabeth and Bianca joined the conversation. They knew it had to be either Hades, Zeus, or Poseidon, and they narrowed it down to either Zeus or Hades, but the conversation got cut short by them making it to the pier at Santa Monica.
After Percy talks to Nereid and who gave him 3 pearls to help in their return to the underworld, they enter it through Crusty's water beds. Going down to the underworld there they get split up into 2 groups Percy, Nico, and Grover and Annabeth and Bianca in witchy Percy gave the shoes that Luke gave him to Nico “PERCY” Nico Screamed as he was getting dragged towards Tartarus as Percy runs towards Nico he draws riptide and stabs it into the sand stopping the 2 as the shoes struggle on Nico's feet, “GROVER” Percy Screamed, “GET THE SHOES OFF NICO”, as Grover ran over and got the first shoe off Nico the second shoe rips itself off of Nico's foot and flies into Tarturusturus and because of the screaming Bianca and Annabeth come running over to the chaos to see the second shoe fly off Nico’s foot and Percy with riptide sticking out of the sand. After the problems in the desert of the dead, they go back towards Hades' Palace, going past the lines of the dead in the process. In this endeavor, they run into Cerberus, but Cerberus was oddly friendly and possibly defensive of the group, especially Nico and Bianca. “Hey Annabeth, isn't Cerberus supposed to be hostile to the living?” Percy said, confused. “I– That is really odd because he is supposed to be hostile to those of the living”, “That might be a clue to who Me and Nico’s Godly parents are,” Bianca said. “True, but let's talk to Hades first before we make a final decision,” Annabeth said.
As the 5 make it to the palace of the god of the Dead, they confront him, and before Percy can get a word out, Hades says, “Nico–Bianca?! How did you, Jackson, take them out of the hotel didn't you?! JACKSON I was trying to keep th–,” as Hades nostrils flare in controlled anger, “anyway that doesn't matter”, “You came here for something Percy, and I think I know what it is”, “Your mother isn't it well she is here and alive but she is goldified”, “Hades why is my mother gold” Percy said back both angry and confused on how she is now a gold statue. “I may have promised Poseidon, your father, to keep her safe if she was ever on the brink of death.” Hades said back. “So can I get my mom back from her gold form?” Percy said, “Not until my Helm is given back to me, Jackson”. “What Helm Hades?”, Percy said back, “My Helm of Darkness, of course, Jackson. You retrieve it, I will give you your mother back”. As the group learns this information, Nico asks Hades a Question, “Why were you speaking so defensively of my sister and me?” “You will learn soon, Nico, you will learn soon.” As the group leaves, Annabeth says, “We all got that you and Bianca are Hades's kids, right?, “Yes, we all got that,” Nico said, “Although he hasn't claimed them yet” Grover said, “Well, he is probably waiting until they get back to camp so that way everyone believes that they are his kids” Percy said as they leave the under world and makes their way back to Montauk where they encounter Ares the god of war.
“You set a trap for us, Ares!” Percy said, “You put the master bolt in the bag you gave us to set us up, and given you're here, I'm assuming you have Hades Helm of Darkness as well”. “You're not as dumb as I assumed, Perseus Jackson,” Ares said back. “Single combat,” Percy said as he raised his sword, Riptide, “Ha, single combat, you think you can take me in single combat.” “Percy, he's the god of war, don't do this,” Annabeth said, “Come on, Percy, win,” Nico said as the combat began Percy was getting beaten thrown around the sand lost his sword after Ares threw him across the beach, sending boar after boar that Percy continued to defeat. Still, after one wrong move Ares was done for he threw the son of the sea into the water, Percy regaining all of his strength and healing from his wounds he pulls riptide out of his pocket and charges the god of war the sea following their prince and the 2 clash swords, Nico screaming “COME ON PERCY!” As the water gets to Ares, ensnaring the war god, and throwing him around until in a moment of weakness, and vulnerability Percy landed one solid strike on Ares, creating a massive gash across his lower leg that was flowing with golden Ichor. As the war god fell to his knees defeated, he exclaimed, “You have made a great enemy Today, Jackson, an enemy for life.” Then, transformed into his divine form, he went back to Olympus. Then, Nico runs to Percy's side along with the rest of the group, talking about his victory over the war god. “Percy, that was amazing, the way you used the water without even trying, everything was amazing,” Nico said. “Thanks, Nico,” Percy said back as he looked over to see Hades, Helm of Darkness, then the lights in Sally’s Montauk home lit up, and Percy ran to the home with the Helm, hoping to see his mom everyone else having to catch up, but running into the home, all he saw was Alecto the fury come to collect Hades Helm “Your not who I was expecting” Percy said, “I know, but rest assured once I have lord Hades’s Helm back he will return your mother safely to her Hearth” Alecto said back, “Well here it is” as Percy puts the Helm of Darkness on to the table Alecto picks it up and leaves the small Montauk home leaving the group stood in the home, “I think we should go see if Sally was returned Perc” Grover says making his way to the door. As they walk out the door, Nico turns to Percy and says, “Who is your mom anyway, Percy?” “You will find out,” Percy said back as the group walked to Percy’s Manhattan apartment.
“Wait, shouldn't we return the bolt first before we go check on Sally Percy?” Annabeth said as the group was about to walk into Percy’s apartment building. “Your right I think we should return the bolt first” Bianca and Grover say, “Well then I guess we better start running” Percy said to the group as they run to the Empire state Building showing man at the front desk the bolt and running to the elevator reaching the 600th floor, “I’ll go and return the bolt to Zeus you guys stay back” Percy said as the reached Olympus, “Fine Percy but don't say anything to Piss off Zeus" Annabeth said with some worry, “Wise girl when have I ever done something to Piss off the gods” Percy said back, “Do you want me to list them” Annabeth said back, “Point taken” Percy said a little embarrassed, as Percy walks into the Olympian throne room where Zeus sits upon his throne. As someone follows Percy, staying just outside the throne room. “Zeus, I have your Master bolt, and I'm here to return it,” Percy said, “And I know who stole it”. “Well well well my bolt finally returned” Zeus said more arrogant than ever with his weapon returned to him, “Clarisse and Ares worked together to Steal both the Master bolt and the helm of Darkness to start a war between you, Hades, and my Father, also to give them to Kronos to revive him”, “Ha, Boy Kronos cant return I put im down in Tarturus my self, in pieces”, After some more back and forth between Zeus and Percy, Percy tried of Zeus arrogance states “What are they going to think when your father comes and puts you in your place?”, as Zeus raises his lighting bolt to strike Percy down for his insolence, and just as Zeus brings the bolt down he stops his arm caught like a fish in a net as Poseidon in between Zeus and Percy and he said, “Call off the war you win Zeus just spare my son”, "I'll have Athena arrange a meeting” as Zeus storms off with new found pride and arrogance. After a long conversation with Percy and Poseidon, in which Percy asks if Nico and Bainca can stay in Cabin 3 because the children of Hades there is no Hades cabin at camp, Poseidon agrees reluctantly, and the group starts to go back to camp, first stopping by Percy and Sally’s apartment to see if Hades held his end of the deal. The group walks into Sally’s apartment, and Sally welcomes the 5 into her home, asking questions about Nico, Bianca, and Annabeth.
