Freddy has always wanted Gregory to become a wizard. Ever since the Pizzaplex started the magic program, Freddy has been helping Gregory try to gain magical abilities to be able to join the program. Cassie immediately had magical abilities and was accepted into the magic program as soon as it started, but Gregory on the other hand did not have the magical abilities Freddy wanted Gregory to have.
On Christmas Freddy still got a magic wand for Gregory in hopes that this would help him find his magical abilities. Gregory would practice everyday with the wand, but nothing would change and he would still not have his abilities. Gregory was extremely disappointed with himself and felt like he didn't deserve the wand that Freddy gave him. Gregory would see everyone else around him being able to do all these spells that make people's jaws drop, even Cassie could do it and she was at the top of the program for magical ability. Which left Gregory wondering, Why could he not do it?
Freddy decided to host a meeting with Roxy and Chica, they were the other two animatronics that ran the magic program with Freddy. Freddy hosted this meeting to talk about the potential of letting Gregory into the program even though Gregory had not gotten his magical abilities yet. Freddy had this idea because he saw how down Gregory was feeling about this and wanted to be able to make him feel better.
Roxy turned to Freddy like he was crazy after even suggesting the idea of that happening.
“Are you serious? What would he even bring to the program? We already have enough people that are more than capable of doing magic like Cassie. Just admit it Freddy, that kid will never be capable of magic.” If Roxy’s dislike for Gregory didn't already show how she would feel about this, even if her dislike for Gregory has gone down overtime she still held a grudge against him, and the fact that Freddy basically wanted to hand Gregory a free spot definitely showed her dislike for the idea.
Chica felt the tension in the room rising, so she tried to step in to be able to calm things down. “Roxy, there's no need to be rude, but she is right, Freddy. Gregory doesn't have magical abilities and we can't just hand him a free spot. I know how much you care about Gregory, but this magic program is for people that you know…. Actually have magical potential.” Chica felt bad for Gregory as well, at the same time though she knew she needed to be logical and unfortunately that meant they could not let Gregory have a free pass into the program.
What they did not know was that Gregory was listening on the other side of the door, he heard the whole conversation and it really got in his head. Did the Glamrocks really believe he would never get his magical abilities…? Gregory tried to shake it off as he walked away, but that thought still lingered in his head.
The next day Gregory was hanging out with Cassie at the Pizzaplex, they were both having a good time being around each other as always, but Gregory still had those thoughts running through his head and still had a lot of self doubt. “Hey, Cassie… do you think I'll ever be able to do magic?” Gregory still wanted to believe he would be able to do magic one day, but he already had a lot of self doubt and hearing what the animatronics said about him made him feel a lot worse about it.
Cassie always believed Gregory would be able to do magic one day. She knew how passionate he was about being able to do magic, She also knew though that he had been really struggling to find his magical ability and she wanted to help him in any way she could. “I'm sure you will be able to do magic one day, why would you think you wouldn't?”
Gregory sighs, he wanted to believe her but how could he? He's been trying everything for months, but yet nothing he does is working. “Well I overheard Freddy, Chica, and Roxy last night and Freddy was thinking about just giving me a free pass into the program. He was only doing it though because I was upset about not being in and not because he thinks I can actually learn magic, and of course Roxy and Chica don't think I can either.” Gregory couldn't help but cry a little bit. He's spent so long trying and trying to learn magic and still he can not do anything.
Cassie puts a hand on Gregory’s shoulder “Gregory, I know how long you've spent trying to learn magic and I know how long you've been struggling with this, but you will be able to do magic. I know it didn't take long for me to learn but everyone is different, for some people it takes longer for them to even be able to do one spell. I know it might be frustrating right now, but soon enough you'll be able to do magic just as well as I can do.” Cassie gives Gregory a hug.
Gregory starts to calm down a little bit as tears stop falling from his eyes, and he puts his arms around her as well. “Thanks Cassie, I really appreciate that. You're right I have been really struggling with this and I still have my doubts I'll ever be able to do magic, but hearing that from you made me feel so much better.” Gregory really appreciated Cassie for being there for him; she was always able to comfort him during times like these. Gregory always felt comforted by her presence and even had a crush on her, she also felt the same way as him, and while they aren't officially together yet they have gotten a lot closer together.
Gregory and Cassie continued to hang out for the rest of the day, Gregory even got her a Roxy collectible action figure from the gift shop with the tickets he got from the Fazcade. They both were starting to get a little bit hungry though, so Gregory decided to go order them a pizza. Cassie decided to stay behind so she could find them a good table to sit at. Once she found the table she sat at the table and started messing with the action figure Gregory got her. Just looking at the action figure made her think about Gregory, and made her hope he would soon be able to do the magic stuff because he deserved to be able to do that.
As Cassie continued to play with her action figure, another person who is in the magic program came up to her and used a spell to make her action figure float in the air, so Cassie could not reach it. “Hey come on, give that back!”
The kid that was making her action figure float just kept laughing and telling her to reach for it, obviously already knowing it was out of her reach. Unfortunately for Cassie as well, she didn't have her wand so she had no way to get her action figure back.
Gregory soon after came back with the pizza and saw this going on, he immediately was thinking of any ideas to stop the kid. Gregory decided to pull out his wand, Gregory knew if this did not work he'd just be embarrassing himself but he had to try anything possible to help Cassie. He was thinking of any spell that could work until he thought of one, the disarming spell. This spell would allow him to make the other person's wand fall out of their hands, so Gregory tried it thinking about all the words Cassie told him about how he will be able to do magic and it worked! Gregory was finally able to do his first magic spell which made the kid’s wand drop which allowed Cassie to get her action figure back.
The kid realized this and quickly picked up his wand and ran off. Cassie saw Gregory do the spell and was really happy she got her action figure back, but most importantly that Gregory was finally able to do his first spell. “See I told you, you could do it! That was amazing Gregory!”
Gregory was so ecstatic about finally being able to do magic that he was basically jumping in place before finally calming down. “Thanks again Cassie, I don't think I would have been able to do this without the words you gave me.”
The other Glamrocks were standing nearby watching everything, Roxy was shocked by what she just saw but also formed a new found respect for Gregory seeing him save Cassie. Freddy approaches Gregory with a smile so big the whole world would know that it's Freddy. “You're a wizard superstar.”
Gregory laughs a little bit at Freddy's comment before nodding. “I guess I am… does this mean I'm part of the magic program now?”
Just before Freddy could answer, Roxy decides to answer the question for him. “Well seeing what you just did for Cassie and that you now have clearly shown signs of magical potential, we would like to officially make you a member of the magic program.”
Gregory, hearing this news, got really excited. This was a dream of his and now he will finally be able to live it out. Cassie was also really happy for Gregory as she knows how much this means for him and was also excited because she knew this means she would be able to spend more time with Gregory.
