I think I just discovered something massive in dragon blazers 1. Last night I was doing another playthrough, because I remembered that my save file was still on the evil route ending (sorry white cloak XD), and when I was trying to beat the shadow drake well… my whole party got one shot by the bugged aoe (if anyone has any tips on how to make surviving it more consistent please comment).

So I kinda ragequit XP, and when I came back the gameover screen had bugged out because I left it for too long. But I didn’t want to have to walk all the way back from the last hardsave so I started imputing random codes into the game to see if that would fix it… let's just say that one one of them definitely did something XD.

The game crashed and after I restarted the game whenever I loaded my save it would crash, and I thought that my file was corrupted (can you blame me? DB1 files corrupt so much XP) so I just made a new file.

But when I loaded up the new file… I was playing as the white cloak! Which I didn’t even think was possible.

Since it was the cursed version of the white cloak it was really hard to even clear the tutorial and get to the first town (the fact that there was no gear that i could equip didn't help much XD).

When I got to the first town and… everything seemed normal, and the white cloak was even there where she normally is (double my second fave XD). I could talk to her and all her dialogue was normal but when I asked her to join the party the game crashed.

I looked around the town and everything else was normal, and I couldn't leave because you can’t complete the last tutorial mission without equipping a new sword and obviously you can’t equip a sword on the mage XD.

So I tried to sequence break to avoid the tutorial quest but I couldn't find a setup that worked without the sprint boots. I also tried some wrong warps but either I couldn't get it to work or all the areas outside the tutorial were broken.

I don’t know why they would hide this whole secret mode, guess the devs were eating WAY too much fruitcake XD.

If anyone finds a way to get past the first area in this PLEASE sign my guestbook. I think the code that caused this was to press down the thumbstick six times then right then start. I know that's a cat petterz code but I swear it worked!
