“Sit still,” Tle chides, brushing his thumb over the growing bruise on First’s cheek.
First shrugs him off with a sniff. “I’m fine. Such dom behavior, phi.”
Tle sighs, long-suffering. “I really can’t take you anywhere. What was your plan, exactly?”
He didn’t think their night would end with them sitting on the curb two blocks from the club, waiting for a car in the dark. The bouncer made sure Tle got First far away from the entrance, lest anyone else decided to “rile up his feral chihuahua sub.”
(Their words, not his. First reminds Tle more of a cat. An orange one.)
“Research. A few drinks. Maybe you giving me those dark eyes I like so much,” First flirts, skirting the question. Their upcoming series had been pitched as a “BDSM romantic comedy,” something that excited them both but opened up a whole new world. A night at a local BDSM club was supposed to bring them closer to the community and to each other.
Instead, some big-ego dipshit decided to wrap his rude hands around First’s waist from behind. Before Tle could even react, First’s drink was splashed over the dude’s face and hands were flying. Words were exchanged before they were all kicked out.
(“Who are you calling a brat, huh? Maybe I’m a dom! I don’t have subby eyes!”)
“You have a big mouth,” Tle says, voice fond and warm. He cups First’s cheek, and the way First leans into him with a little grin makes Tle blush. “And you’re very cute.”
First grumbles, but tucks himself tighter into Tle’s side. “Next time, we need outfits. So they know I’m taken.” He meets Tle’s surprised look. “You know. For research.”
“Research,” Tle murmurs, wondering how much a collar costs, and what color First would like. “Right.”
