Two's a Party: A Daddies Oneshot

Summary:

It's the night of Teen High's big senior prom, and Hermie finds himself third wheeling with Linc and Scary. He wants nothing more than to dance with Normal. Little does he know, a scammer's magic is rippling through the air...

EDIT: Sorry if this fic is taking forever, I'm really busy with school and I don't get a lot of time to work on chapters!! Please be patient

I dedicate this fanfic to my irl best friend and one of my favorite moots. You two are the best!!

Notes:

NOTE: This fanfic follows an alternate universe where Hermie the Unworthy dies and, rather than being build-a-beared, he is fully revived later on and is the original version of himself. Because of this choice, he is fully conscious of his death and how it has happened. Sorry if that's weird or doesn't make sense, I just can't kill him off like that.

Chapter Text

Once upon a highschool prom, in a far-away land known as San Dimas, California...

Hermie unbuckles his seatbelt and steps out of the car. A warm evening's breeze gently sways around him, and in return he shivers. He looks up at the sky, studying the little stars dotting the vast sky. It still felt so alien, seeing a night bubbling with lights and colours. It had been some time since the Doodler was put to peace, and yet life still felt incorrect without its presence. A glimmer of purple ripples in the sky for a moment, and it feels like a weight is pressed against the inside of Hermie's skull.

"Hermie! Hermie, are you coming? Hello, earth to the Unworthy!"

He looks back, his line of sight aligned with Scary's. Scary Marlowe looked gorgeous tonight. Her bangs are freshly redyed and her eyeshadow is suffocating. A black, flowy satin dress hangs off her shoulders and falls down elegantly to her ankles. Hermie hasn't loved Scary for a long, long time. That didn't stop him from admiring her darkened, blood rose beauty.

Around her arm was Lincoln Li-Wilson. He was a bit of an odd one in Hermie's mind, but he's redeemed himself and is a friend no less. He towered over Scary and, in reality, almost all of the people in his graduating class. Hermie wondered why Lincoln did soccer and not any other sports where height was an advantage. It was something he didn't understand. Nonetheless, he looked equally as good. Linc was wearing a black suit that matched the colour of Scary's dress down to every undertone. A big grin was plastered on his face. He knew he was lucky. A small chuckle escaped into the open night.

"C'mon, Herm! Normal and Taylor are already here. They're probably waiting for us," Lincoln said. At the sound of Normal's name, Hermie's heart tremoured.

Normal Oak held a special place in Hermie's heart. His scraggly hair, the glint in his eyes, his nausea-inducing amount of school spirit. Hermie was enamoured. If it weren't for that sad, sad boy, he knew he wouldn't have been at home getting dressed for the prom earlier. Someone would've been dressing him up for six feet of soil.

Hermie turns to the car. He could barely make his out his reflection on the shining windows. Adjusting his tie, he stands up a little straighter and admired himself. Slicking back the hair that was long enough to do so with, he turned back to his friends with a devilish smirk.

"Let's go on in, everyone. I'm ready."
