Jimin is afraid.
After all these years how could he be here?
Of course he had heard of the fall of the very kingdom he grew up in, he had cried himself at night as he accepted that those fantasies he dreamt would never come true. Yoongi was likely dead.
And yet, as he had ran out to the forest after Eunmi, who had once again managed to slip under the gates of their garden, he saw a gaunt figure sitting on a familiar horse.
"Jimin? Is- is that you?" The gaunt figure - Yoongi- croaked. He sounded as if he was on the verge of tears. Jimin felt himself raise his guard.
"What are you doing here." How was Yoongi here might've been a better question- the king had been recently executed and he obviously assumed the prince would be next.
"I..I came for you. I'm so..I'm so sorry..yy.." Yoongi began to cry before suddenly slumping off the side of Bee and onto the dirt path beneath him.
"Yoongi!" Jimin didn't even realize he ran up to the man, he should be keeping his guard up.
Yet, he turned Yoongi onto his side and began to feel for breathing and a heartbeat. He gasped when his cloak shifted to the side and his ribs prominently poked through his shirt.
Placing a shaky finger under Yoongi's nose Jimin let out a sigh of relief. He was still breathing. It seems he was just severely malnutritioned.
Eunmi snuggles into his neck, a slight whimper escaping her tiny lips. Jimin immediately straightens his back and stands up as imposing as he can get.
He needs to stay guarded, for her.

Of course, he could not just leave Yoongi to die out there. Jimin had ran inside to get Jeongkook, Taehyung's new mate, to help him lift Yoongi to the guest room while Taehyung calmed down the now crying Eunmi.
"So this is the rumored King Yoongi?" Jeongkook raised an unimpressed eyebrow at the skinny form on the bed. Jimin felt a defensive grow inside him, that was the father to his kid after all.
"He was never a king, he was a prince. A damn good one. Not that it really matters since the kingdom he was to rule was demolished in war." Jimin snarked out before backpedaling at Jeongkook's wide eyes.
"Sorry. I don't know what came over me."
Jeongkook smiled smartly, "Sounds to me like someone may have a bit of a crush." Jimin flushed and scowled.
"More like a big of a crush! Should've seen them meet up every night. Very romantic." Taehyung chuckled as he sauntered into the room with a tray of drinks and Eunmi trailing behind him.
"I don't have a crush on him. He could be here to kill us, or take Eunmi for revenge." Jimin spat out as he felt his face grow warm with embarrassment.
Eunmi waddled up to Jimin and raised her arms expectantly. He picked her up and placed her on his hip. When he raised his head he was met with the unimpressed gazes of Taehyung and his mate.
"You think that poor sweet Yoongi who encouraged you to do what you needed, and came all this way despite being obviously starved, is here to get revenge?" Taehyung quipped, "Jimin I don't even think he could take Eunmi on in this state."
Jimin softly scoffed. "He better not try."
Taehyung smiled knowingly at him. "Oh Jimin."

15 months later they became officially mated.
It would've been sooner Yoongi reasons. They had begun to officially date and meet up nightly about 2 months after he had arrived. At first, Jimin tried to ignore him. It had stung a lot but he was content with just being able to watch his daughter grow. He was only only allowed to live with them after he explained he had no where to go.
Jimin tried his best to give him the cold shoulder but after about 2 weeks off Yoongi trying to start small talk and Jimin running out the room to go protect Eunmi, Jeongkook had managed to convince Jimin that Yoongi was a much better shot at archery and they began lessons just like before.
It was romance from there, and even though they were head over heels by month 5, Yoongi couldn't bring himself to mate with Jimin.
Every time he tried to imagine it, he saw the cold lifeless body of Daehee. It felt like betrayal to be happy. Even though Dae had said he was happy Yoongi was happy it still hurts. He thinks maybe in another life they could've been friends.
Eventually though, shortly after Eunmi's 3rd birthday, Yoongi had received a letter.
Dear Yoongi,
You are invited to the official coronation and adornment of Kim Seokjin, Kim Namjoon, and Jung Hoseok.
The date is x/xx/xxxx please attend promptly. Food and Shelter will be provided.
Sincerely, your friends.
Yoongi almost spit out his drink as he had read it. How had they even known where to send a letter?
Another slip fell out of the letter, a picture of a grave marked
"Yu Daehee"
He flipped the photo onto his back and read.
" He is buried on his home land. His mother was eternally grateful. "
A soft sigh of relief left Yoongi as he looked at the photo. He had always regretted not being able to give Daehee the ending he deserved.
He carefully placed the later onto the table and stared at forlornly.
Suddenly his legs buckled as something ran into them. Or someone.
"Eunmi! My fragile old legs can't take you running into me like that."
"Don't be a crybaby Dada. " Eunmi pouted. "Papa says he doesn't like crybabies."
"Oh really?" Yoongi smirked as he saw Jimin approach.
" Did Papa ever tell you about the time he let me-"
"Absolutely not! Eunmi do not listen to him." Jimin cried out as Eunmi and Yoongi giggled. Eventually Jimin joined in.
Mischievously, Yoongi scooped the two in his arms and smiled softly down at his partner.
"I love you Park Jimin."
