Veliona still had a hard time adjusting to her new body. Of course, she was thankful to Seele for that priceless gift, but it really wasn't something to get used to quickly. While talking and walking came naturally to her, doing tasks that required delicacy was too much at times: she would often drop small objects and writing was a hustle. But the biggest issue was that Veliona now felt so much. She could hear, so the noises were loud; she could smell, so the smells were too much; she could eat, so the taste was never right. Sometimes she really wanted to be back in that void for a break.
But even though, there were still many benefits of having a body. Just like Seele had promised her, Veliona could now feel her beloved's touch. Veliona would never admit it out loud but she was a clingy person and she liked it when Seele squeezed her. So being able to hug and hold hands made her feel that everything had been worth it.
Of course, she was always reminded that she now had more opportunities to live as an independent and complete person. All the fun stuff like hobbies, tasting food, travelling and so on but Veliona wanted to take it slowly.
Only two days had passed since the liberation of the two bubble universes and most of the people Veliona knew stayed to make sure everything went smoothly. PROMETHEUS had checked her system and fixed minor issues so the Holy City could work without her observation and maintenance. Shigure Kira had agreed to help her look for Hare. Veliona still hated that crazy woman, but she could admit that she had really tried to fix her mistakes and even sacrificed herself to give them all a chance to win against Sa's Proxy. Fine, maybe that mad woman wasn't that much of a terrible person.
Abnormal Stigmas 0014 and 0015 had left the same night Mei and Bronya came. Good. Veliona didn't want to see that little brat ever again in her life. She still felt anger and the desire to punch something whenever she remembered about her.
Mei stayed to gather information about the bubble universe and even spar with Seele. Veliona was a little worried at first since Seele was a newly-birthed Herrscher compared to the very experienced Mei but everything went good. Veliona loved to see Seele so focused and confident in her movements and the way her eyes shined when Mei praised her. It gave Veliona the feeling that everything became how it was supposed to be. Life was good.
Herrscher of Sentience couldn't be bothered to stay for even those two days so she gave everyone a goodbye and left to Earth. That fella was unpredictable and impulsive, but surprisingly reliable when it came to pure strength and even emotional support.
Finally, Bronya and Seele were mostly inseparable. After being apart for so long, they just wanted to stay together. But even that didn't stop them from bringing Veliona along all the time. It felt good to be included and to see that Bronya was determined to give both of herself and Seele equal amount of attention and love. If they all were to hold hands, Bronya would be in the middle so both of them could have her; if they were to talk about their experiences in Salt Snow City and Iron Sand City, they would want Veliona to stay with them. Despite the fact that they hadn't officially talked about Veliona joining Bronya's and Seele's relationship, she still felt wanted. They had never failed to make her feel like she belonged.
That night was the last they were going to spend in Salt Snow City. It was time to return home but for Veliona it meant even more anxiety. She cuddled close to Seele. The bed was big enough for three people so Bronya was next to the wall, with Seele in the middle and then Veliona, so she could make sure Seele wouldn't fall in her sleep. One thing that she really disliked was the fact that she couldn't feel or hear Seele's heartbeat anymore. Back when they were sharing one body, Veliona got used to falling asleep hearing Seele's heartbeat. It was grounding. She pressed her other closer to herself, which in turn moved Bronya's arms and she opened her eyes.
"Sorry, it was me." Veliona whispered.
"Is Seele okay?"
"I'm fine, just can't fall asleep."
"Tomorrow is a big day."
"Yeah."
Bronya moved one hand to gently caress Veliona's cheek. "It's going to be alright. Seele quickly became friends with Mei. The others will accept Seele too."
"You think so?"
"Da. Absolutely."
Veliona exhaled. "I miss being one with her too..."
"We are still one, just in a different way." Veliona felt Seele's head move and then their eyes locked. "Do you feel lonely?"
"What? Of course not. You are here, and Bronya too. I'm as happy as I could possibly be."
"Even the Bronya can see you're lying right now, Seele." Bronya sat up to see both of their faces better.
"Hey, we're family, right? You can tell us when something is bothering you. Come here." Seele rolled on her back and pulled Veliona towards her, the girl's head ended up on her chest. "Is this better?"
"...Yeah." Veliona answered and nuzzled her face in her chest. It was warm and safe, and she could finally hear her heart steadily beating. That's how it was always supposed to be. "I just feel like everything is going on so fast. I need something to ground me..."
"The Bronya has an idea that requires Seele's trust and permission."
"Hm?"

"Really?" Veliona looked away.
"Hm, Bronya, it seems she doesn't believe us! I wonder what should we do to prove our love to her?" Seele asked with a playful smile.
"A kiss should be a good proof."
Veliona looked back at Seele to try and catch any uncertainty or disgust but there was none. She was actually allowed to become a part of their life. Moreover, she was wanted. She breathed in and out, grateful that both of them were waiting for her consent. Finally, Veliona summoned her courage and spoke:
"I would like that... very much."
Seele smiled and gently pressed against the back of Veliona's head to make her lower it to herself. Veliona closed her eyes, a little nervous but the sensation she felt didn't hurt in any way. It hadn't been that long since she realized her feelings were more than admiration and approval.
