Felwinter/Osiris ...passionately.

Summary:

Thanks for the prompt!

This one also goes out to Sylenth, whose Void/Solar art with Fel and Osiris lives rent free in my head.

Work Text:

Felwinter was a man of few words and fewer needs. He took great, if understated, pleasure in the simple joys of life -- an ancient book of poetry, a sweet ballad sung by Lady Skorri, the rough and tumble tussling of the newest batch of temple puppies -- all these things were a quiet delight for the Dark Horse of the Mountain.

But there was one thing he seemed to take the most pleasure in, above and beyond what might be considered appropriate, and that was simply this: getting Osiris's goat.

Truly, it seemed like Felwinter's greatest pleasure stemmed from antagonizing his apprentice, given how much he pushed the other Warlock over the simplest things, and how much he seemed to enjoy Osiris's frustrated grumbling. However, despite the frequently deliberate prodding, Felwinter was equally generous with his praise -- provided Osiris could manage to keep his head.

Today, they were casually sparring without armor.  Felwinter's cool Void met Osiris's tempermental Solar in great gouts of sunset-tinted Light as they clashed. There was one difference between them aside from the Light, and that was that Felwinter repeatedly fashioned his Void into the shape of a longsword and used it to cut through the wild fireballs Osiris kept hurtling at him.

"Focus, Osiris!" Felwinter called for the dozenth time, dancing away from yet another snap of flaming missiles that Osiris threw his way.

Osiris made a noise of frustration. He knew he could do what Felwinter wanted if the other Warlock would simply let him have a moment to breathe! He ducked away from a small bit of Void that harried him for a moment before disappearing.

He tried again to generate the end goal of this exercise -- a blade, twin to the one Felwinter wielded, only crafted of Solar Light instead of Void.

He flung his hand skyward with a harsh, frustrated yell, and to his surprise and relief, felt the Solar Light coalescing in his hand into the hilt of a sword.

Felwinter pressed the attack immediately, forcing Osiris to react on instinct, sweeping the blade toward his mentor and gasping as several brilliant arcs of flame erupted off the edge and headed directly for the other Warlock. This time, Felwinter couldn't dodge. The flaming arcs tracked him like he was wearing a target and succeeded in impacting him one after another, driving the Exo to his knees, his clothes smoldering.

Osiris was so surprised that he lost his concentration, the flaming sword immediately dissipating from his hand as he rushed to his mentor.

"Don't!" Felwinter warned, then lunged for Osiris, his own Void blade sweeping in an arc that left ripples in the air behind it, aiming for Osiris's head.

Osiris gasped again, this time in desperation, as he willed his own blade back into existence just in time to block Felwinter's attack.

Osiris shoved hard, pushing Felwinter back a step as radiance rolled over his body, giving him the appearance of a living flame. To his shock and delight, Felwinter laughed, then leaned close.

"I would punish you for dropping your guard like that, but I think you might enjoy it too much," Felwinter purred.

Osiris stammered, feeling heat rising to his face that had nothing to do with the Solar Light wreathing his body.

Felwinter leaned over their crossed blades to give Osiris a passionate kiss that had the junior Warlock swooning, the Solar sword flickering into nothingness as he returned the kiss just as passionately.

Felwinter dropped his blade to his side, then stepped back as he broke the kiss, his eyes bright. "Well done, Osiris. Now, do it again, and see what other favors you might earn, hmm?"
