Chapter Text
Leo could only see the destruction and hear the screams of the people around him. He felt human hands holding him up and he finally remembered why, he looked over to see Casey holding him up and practically dragging him across the battle field.
“I got you Sensei, stay with me.”
“You’re a lifesaver Casey Jones,” Leo couldn’t have felt prouder of Casey.
Casey’s mask flipped open and he smiled at Leo, “Learned from the best, come on we’re almost there.” Leo finally started to really move his legs trying to take some of his weight off Casey because the kid shouldn’t have to hold Leo up like this.
Leo lost focus of his footing as Kraang hounds started circling them, he tripped taking Casey to the ground with him. The Kraang hounds chose then to pounce on them and Leo tried to shield Casey from the attack.
“Bad doggies!” Leo heard his brother yell, turning around to see Mikey’s golden chains form out of nowhere.
“Impeccable timing little brother, very dramatic.” Leo smiled when Mikey appeared inside the golden chains floating, like usual. All Leo could see was his floating cape but he knew that Mikey’s eyes had turned a bright orange.
Mikey whipped the chains around stabbing them through multiple different types of Kraang. And sending up a giant flash of light through the sky.
Casey set Leo down against a giant rock grunting as he moved Leo. Concern laced his features and Leo understood, this kid had already lost everybody else. He was afraid to lose Leo and Leo knew it.
Mikey floated over with an almost identical face of concern as Casey.
“Help him Michaelangelo,” Casey’s voice was desperate, pleading. “He’s hurt bad.”
Leo groaned as he pulled the metal hand away from the wound at his side, he looked up seeing the Kraang destroying everything and finally the realization set in.
“That’s it the resistance failed, the Kraang won.” Leo laid back, giving up and looking to Casey, his face fell. Then Leo felt a hand on his shoulder, looking up he saw Mikey smiling at him, it was a sad watery smile.
“Not yet they haven’t.” Mikey stopped floating to kneel in front of Leo, “I still have one more trick in my shell.” He winked at Leo and patted his shoulder as he stood.
“Master Michaelangelo do you mean…” Leo was confused looking between Mikey and Casey who had a silent conversation as Mikey nodded and Casey’s eyes turned to the size of a dinner plate, tears filling his eyes.
Leo looked at Mikey, stern as he asked,“Mikey what are you talking about?”
Mikey looked to Leo with his hands on his hips, “We still have hope Leo! That and me the most badass mystic warrior this world has ever seen!” Mikey smiled wide and bright as Leo looked at him dumbfounded.
“I still don’t understand,” Leo looked at Casey then back to Mikey. “And why does Casey know about it and not me?” Leo couldn’t help but feel a little offended that his little brother hadn’t trusted him with whatever was going on.
Mikey sighed, “Listen Leo I’m gonna create a time gateway to a day before the key was stolen. You and Casey are gonna go through the gateway and stop the invasion from happening.” Mikey explained, shaking his hands out and jumping in place. Orange sparks radiated off of him as he spun in a circle making a giant orange circle under him as he cut into time and space. Holding his arms out in front of him he grunted as a little orange circle opened up in front of him.
Leo looked to Casey and sighed, “Explain please.” Casey took a deep breath in and looked at Leo with determination, “Master Michaelangelo has a plan. He’s gonna open a gateway that sends us back in time so we can find the key and stop the Kraang, but the gateway…it well….” Casey sighs and looks down at his feet, “It’ll take everything Uncle Mikey has.”
Leo’s eyes widened as he looked at Mikey who had gotten the gate way to the size of a pizza, but his arms…HIS ARMS! They were tearing apart. “Mikey! Wait!” Leo stood to stop Mikey before he could tear himself completely apart but before he could a red glow appeared above them and Leo looked up to see Kraang Prime standing over them.
Casey’s chainsaw hockey stick started up as he yelled, “UNCLE MIKEY THEY FOUND US!” Casey stood at the ready when another red light appeared over them as another Kraang bot came up behind them. “UNCLE MIKEY WE NEED THE GATEWAY NOW!”
Leo looked over to where Mikey was as he pulled out his Odachi, Mikey looked back and nodded to Casey and Leo “I’m almost done!” More flakes peeled off of him and Leo watched in terror as his baby brother let out a battle cry as he tore open the gateway even more. With a final wink back to them Mikey’s form completely shattered.
The next thing Leo knew as tears filled his eyes was his weight shifting as Casey practically threw Leo through the gateway. Leo only saw Casey follow behind him before all he saw was orange.

It was loud, like really loud. Leo finally decided to open his eyes and he saw people walking over and around him, sitting up he looked around to see all of the people of the great New York City and all of it’s buildings still standing
‘Huh…I guess I really am in the past.’ Leo stood up and dusted off his pants then a stinging sensation reminded him of his wounded side as he hissed in pain.
‘Ughh right…wait Casey! Where’s Casey?’
Leo whipped around in search of Casey when he saw the teenager in the crowd sticking out like a sore thumb. Walking over to Casey he patted him on the shoulder.
“Come on, we gotta find cover before people start asking us where the convention is.” Leo half dragged Casey into an alleyway off to the side, they sat in silence as they watched the crowd of people walking over and by. Casey finally broke the silence when he asked, “What’s a convention?” At that Leo snorted and looked at Casey.
“It’s a place people dress up as characters from shows, books, or games.” Casey hummed at that and they fell back into silence,
“Uh Sensei? Isn’t that the manhole cover thing you and Uncle Donnie and Mikey would talk about?” Leo looked over to Casey who was pointing at the ground and Leo followed to where he was pointing and ‘Holy shit it was a manhole cover’ Leo smiled at Casey and nodded as he walked over and lifted it and moved it over.
“Alright you first Case,” Leo smiled at Casey and gestured to the sewers. Casey climbed in with no hesitation but called back up almost instantly. “It reeks down here!” And Leo laughed as he climbed down and pulled the manhole cover back over the hole.
Leo took in a deep breath, “Ahhh home sweet home.” He looked around for any signs of the art or sticker’s that the past turtles would have left behind as indicators but if wasn’t stickers or anything of the like that he found. What he found was a camera that was pointed right at him and Casey. “Well well well, hey Case get on my shoulders quick.” Leo crouched down for him and Case climbed on, confusion written all over his face. “Now you see that camera?” Leo pointed to it in the corner and Casey followed his finger and nodded, “I’m gonna put you closer to it and I need you to start tapping on it or just mess with it, alright?” Leo looked up at the teenager on his shoulders as he nodded,
Leo walked closer to the camera and Casey stood on his shoulders and started tapping, breathing, and sticking his tongue out at the camera. Then he heard the telltale signs of four ninja turtles rushing through the sewers towards them. Leo let Casey hop off his shoulders abd he leaned against the wall as the turtles came around the corner.
“Seriously Don? You saw a human face up close on your camera? Are you sure it was actually human?”
“Scoff! Why would I make a jok- whaaaaaa…” little Donnie was the first to notice Leo standing there and the rest of the turtles skidded to a stop behind him and stared at Leo.
“Hi.” Leo waved to the younger versions of his brothers as Mikey pushed himself between a flabbergasted Leo and Donnie.
“Ohmigosh! Hiii! Why do you look like Leo but bigger? Why do you have a metal arm? Who’s the boy beside you?” Mikey inched closer with every question until he was only a few feet away from Leo.
Leo chuckled and sat down against the sewer wall and Casey followed him down and sat next to him.
“First because I am Leo, just from twenty-two years in the future. Second I have a metal arm because I bought something that cost an arm and a leg but I got it fifty percent off so it only cost me the arm. And third the boy is Casey Jr.” Leo smiled at the Mikey and turned his attention to the other turtles who were eyeing him suspiciously.
Donnie spoke up first, “I want proof you’re actually from the future.” Leo smiled at that while his younger counterpart just rolled his eyes and grinned, “Uh Don do you see that Raph chasm on his forehead? I would never allow myself to get one of those.” Leo couldn’t help but laugh at that, he regretted it instantly though when his injury decided to remind him that it was still there and he let out a hiss of pain as he fell back against the sewer wall.
“Sensei!” Casey moved closer to help him and keep him up right.
“Oh..oh no guys he’s hurt! We have to help him!” Little Mikey moved to help him but Raph put his hand on his shoulder and shook his head.
“Let me get ‘im up Mikey, I don’t know if ‘ya noticed but he’s kinda bigger than ‘ya.” Raph grabbed Leo under the arm and lifted him as Mikey walked over to Casey,
“Hi Casey Jr! It’s nice to meet you!” Mikey held out his hand and Casey shook it, “Come in we’ll take you to the lair and Leo..well my Leo will help fix up your Leo!” Mikey didn’t wait for an answer and dragged Casey by his arm as Raph helped Leo walk and little Leo and Don take the lead back to the lair.
Leo looked over at Raph then back at Casey who was staring dumbfounded at the back of little Mikey’s head and Leo chuckled to himself. ‘This is gonna be fun…’
