Andre scanned the surroundings, searching for any signs of endermen, without much luck.
Water poured down incessantly, drenching his clothes and leaving him soaked to the bone. He pushed his fringe up to get a clearer view, only to get a drop of rainwater right in his eye.
God, he hated the rain.
Wait.
SOUPBEGONE31: wait
SOUPBEGONE31: its raining
Andre frowned. He looked up to the stormy sky. Rain means water. Water means no endermen. No endermen means no ender pearls.

Okay, change of plans.
Undeterred, Andre sprinted back towards where he came from, coming up with a plan for his next course of action. The rain shows no signs of letting up, so he needed to go somewhere where there is no rain. Somewhere warm. Somewhere safe. Somewhere-
Andre winced as he felt a sudden jolt of pain in his chest. His knees immediately buckled, sending him tumbling to the floor. After taking a few moments to catch his breath, Andre tried getting up.
No response.

Groaning in agony, Andre tried moving his arm. Nothing. He tried to lift a finger. Nothing.
Fuck.
Conzercheez: okay so now what??
SOUPBEGONE31: now we wait for andre to STOP WASTING TIME AND GO FIND SOME ENDERMEN SO THAT WE CAN BEAT THE GAME

He laid in the ground for what felt like hours, listening to his chat bicker on and on about pointless minutia, all the while rain crashed onto his head with a dull, rhythmic thud.
This was torture.
SIDIsquish: im sooo BORED

He tuned out the collective voice of the chat as they blurred together with the deafening white noise of the rain, his mind focusing on trying to do something, anything, to avoid enduring this torture any longer.
Suddenly, he hears it.
Footsteps.
Uneven, but still distinctly clear footsteps

Using the last reserves of his willpower, Andre shakily typed out a message, hoping that he can get their attention.

The footsteps stopped. Then got louder and louder as a figure approached him gingerly, until he could make its silhouette.
This wasn't Assimilation.
Conzercheez: collin??
The figure draped in a yellow raincoat and hat crouched down next to him, as if to assess his physical state. Then, it spoke.

Andre eyed the figure again, trying to ascertain its thoughts. Its raincoat was covering its mouth, so it was a bit hard to read its facial expression, but Andre finally saw an emotion he wasn't expecting. Curiosity.

The figure's eyes instantly shimmered with a mysterious determination.
Andre felt a sudden cold as the figure put its hand on his head, trying to feel for something. Then, it stepped back.
Andre stared in confusion as he swears he saw its raincoat sag and start to...melt? There's a wet sound as its hat melded onto its body, forming what looked almost like hair, while its yellow raincoat morphed into a lab coat. Finally, its skin slowly paled into a shade of gray and its 'hair' shifted cyan.
Andre felt a lurch in his stomach as he realized what it was supposed to be.
