Chapter Text
Ze was laying on the couch, his wings twitching in annoyance. He groaned, and a certain entity came towards him, sitting behind him.
“What are you so impatient for?” ReGect huffed, gently starting to work on his feathers.
“I’m just tired and these feathers are bugging me.” Ze replied, placing his face into the cushions.
“Mhm.”
And silence ensued. Ze cooed slightly while ReGect hummed his favorite song. Everyone else in the house was asleep so it was just the two of them.
Ze slumped back in his chair behind the screen. He sighs, rubbing his face with his hands, which pushed up his glasses a bit.
God, he really needed to go outside and actually have a conversation with a real man. He knew it was useless talking to incomplete blocks on a screen. So much went on in the time he’s known ReGect that he wishes he originally went outside like he first planned to before opening Minecraft and creating his first world.
He got up from his desk, heading to his kitchen. Ze hasn’t eaten yet. ReGect stopped his humming when he heard the chair move. He looked at Ze, who was still.
“Uh… Zeebee? You good?” He asked. He poked him, but Ze’s character didn’t move. “What could he possibly be doing?”

Ze stood in the kitchen, leaning against the counter, and eating the sandwich he made. It wasn’t anything special, just PB&J. The TV was on, playing some random show. Something about a competition and… leaves and fires or whatever. He didn’t pay too much mind to it.
He was staring off into the distance. Ze was mostly contemplating how he’s gotten to such a place in his life. He’s 20, working at a fish market, getting a forensics science degree, living alone in his apartment, and talking to fake people on a game about building and mining. Ze didn’t know how to feel about being in such a situation that most people are in.
Maybe they are, but definitely not the fake people part.
Ze finished his sandwich, picking up his phone.
While in Do Not Disturb
Msak__
He tapped on the message.
Msak__
Good morning Ze!
Hru?
dmaod
I’m doing alright, you?
Msak__
Jst the usual. :)
U doing anything today?
Ze scratched the back of his neck with his other hand, glancing at his calendar on the fridge while also going through his mental one. He shrugged, looking back at his phone to reply.
dmaod
Nope. Only thing I have to do is work, which today is my day off.
Why do you ask?
Msak__
A new cafe opened up in town!
Wanna try?
dmaod
Yeah, let me take care of a rat first.
Msak__
LOL okay XD
See u at 10?
dmaod
See you at 10.
Ze stopped leaning and walked towards his bedroom. All he saw was his screensaver on display, so he sat at the desk and moved the mouse around a bit for the screen to turn on again.

“Zeebee, you there now?” ReGect asked.
“Yeah, I have to go.” Ze replied, getting off the couch. He stretched his arms out.
“Where?” ReGect quickly asked another question. “With who, and for how long…?”
Ze looked at ReGect, raising an eyebrow. “Why?” He questioned. “You better not be fucking shit up. If you are, I’m going to be beating your damn ass…”
“I won’t be doing anything! I just wanted to know.” The entity answered defensively, putting his hands up.
“Whatever.” Ze sighed, tying his hair into a tiny ponytail. “I’ll be back.”
dmaod left the world.

Ze walked to the place he and Msak were supposed to meet at. Walking in, he was greeted by a cat rubbing against his leg.
“Hey there.” He mumbled, bending down to scratch behind its ears. Ze looked up when he heard someone call him over, seeing his friend already at a table.
“Great to get off the game every now and then, huh?” The man joked, chuckling. Ze sat in the chair in front of him.
“Says you.” Zoe retorted, smirking. “I think you spend more time on it than me.”
“Oh, I’ve been trying to get off,” Msak rolled his eyes, “But Ptolemy is on there!”
“Can’t he come out of the screen?”
“He’s been doing that more recently actually! He got to taste some of my lovely cooking.”
“Probably burnt…”
“Hey!”
They both laughed, continuing to bicker a bit more until they ordered and their food arrived.
Ze and Msak didn’t talk about too much the whole time, other than personal life outside of dealing with the two entities. It was refreshing, Ze thought, smiling softly as he listened to the man in front of him rant about grocery store experiences. Aside from conversations, the food was delicious too. Ze got just a croissant with some coffee while Msak got waffles.
Eventually, they both finished their food. After arguing over who was going to pay (Msak ended up winning, of course), they headed back to their homes, bidding each other a goodbye and a good day. He walked all the way back, hands in his pockets, a smile on his face.
He arrived back, opening the door and entering.
Honestly, right now seems like a good time to take a nap.
What was that noise in his bedroom though?
