Chapter Text
As David Lynch might’ve said, “it’s the twentieth of March, 2026, and if you... can... believe it! It’s EVA-Trek time, once again!”
This week’s episode is attempting an experiment with the narrative structure, so I hope you enjoy it, or at least find it interesting. It was a challenge I threw at myself to see how I could handle adapting an event from a different point of view. To say more would be spoilers, so let’s get the show rolling.
A quick note – there’s no Ready Room installment this week. Instead, the supplemental chapter will present production art and sketches.
And now... let’s boogie!

ACT NOTES:
-
- Episode Title: “Hell and Back” comes from Metallica’s Beyond Magnetic EP, containing tracks that didn’t make their album Death Magnetic.
- Title Page: ‘Tunde is another returning EVA-Trek director from previous seasons. More recently, he’s an executive producer and director on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
- Page 1, Scene 1: This entire sequence is based on the final “Mexican Standoff” at the end of Sergio Leone’s magnificent The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, with a tweak to fit my episode. Hitomi plays Clint Eastwood’s “Blondie,” Sorrd is Lee Van Cleef’s “Angel Eyes,” and “Tuco” is still played here by Eli Wallach as in the original scene. Incidentally, I highly recommend checking out Arrow Video’s astounding Blu-ray/UHD releases of Leone’s “Dollar Trilogy.” Some of the best home video releases I’ve ever seen.
