Chapter Text

Flowey's memories and recollections of the previous Routes began to surface and intrigue him.

“Damn it!” Clover shouted, his voice filled with frustration at being unable to do anything.

“It's always the same.”

"Are you that afraid of me? I thought you were a king, not a jester. You're a damn cheat, Asgore." Clover said with a broken arm and his battle buttons completely destroyed., his head aching and his clothes singed. Even in his pain, he threw himself at the king and...

“So predictable...”

The silence that followed was thick and heavy, as if a building were crushing him. In his mind, doubts began to gnaw at him. “Should I have forgiven her? Should I have forgiven Ceroba?” He shook his head, trying to push the thoughts away, and headed for the castle to face his fate.

“Why are you doing this...?” Flowey was tired of seeing Clover always do the same thing.

“H-Heh... y-your lapdogs, the R-Royal Guard... they're surely more honorable than you. You think you're a king, but you're just a coward, crippling my actions. You're not Just,” he spat bitterly. The king, for his part, was expressionless. He raised his trident and...

“It's time... It's time to go.” Clover made his decision. Seeing Martlet's reaction, he hesitated for a moment, but it was too late. With teary eyes, all he could do was tell her that he loved her and not to suffer because of his departure. They would soon be free, and that was what mattered.

“Why do you always punish yourself? I don't think I'll ever understand.”

“Your attitude irritates me, Clover. This time you'll regret it. This time, you'll  S U F F E R ” Flowey definitely dropped his facade of kindness. His face, which had previously worn an innocent smile, was now contorted, the folds of his face opening and deforming until they formed a maniacal grin.

NEUTRAL ROUTE:

"Well, "roommate", let's go to Snowdin."

!STAB¡

"W-What is this?"

"Clover...?"

"I should' ve k-known..."

"......"

"......"

"We had a nice Run, didn' t we?"

"Too bad I won't miss it."

"You' re still holding on? So stubbborn!"

"Lighten up a little, pal!"

"You do know this didn´t have to happen, right?"

"We had a plan. A simple one."

"G O      T O      A S G O R E"

"But I guess you' re too stupid to follow directions."

"Don' t know why I thought this would end any differently... You' ve always been predictable."

"Oh? What do I mean? Well, buddy, let me show you!"

".........."

"Oh come on! You' re still here?"

"You really wana do this the hard way?"

"Haha, alright then!... Let's have a litle fun before I absorb your SOUL for good!"

"Now, remember what I taught you!"

"Dodge the bullets!"

Clover would like to cry...but he have no eyes

Flowey absorbed Clover's soul and could finally feel it. The cowboy gave up for the first time and the flower won, but before he could even celebrate, he felt strange. Previously expressionless, he now couldn't process what was happening to him. “These are... were these feelings?” And for the first time, Flowey... Flowey fell silent. Having a soul again, an extremely kind and JUST soul, made him pause before slaughtering. He remembered all the damage he had caused, all the times he had taken Clover's life, metaphorically and literally, all the times he killed him and he died. He remembered seeing the hatred in the cowboy's eyes and it made him laugh. "I am changing? NO!!! I would never feel such nonsense. I know very well that I am not the one who thinks that way, damn cowboy!” Flowey was certainly irritated, so in his mind he decided to talk to Clover like good friends.

“Heh, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.” Clover was laughing like crazy. If the cowboy still had a body, Flowey would see him lying on the ground, rolling around laughing. “What are you laughing at now, idiot?” Flowey was baffled. “It's funny, isn't it? So that you can finally feel the weight of what you did, I had to give up.” The plant was intrigued. At another time, he would have been irritated and tortured Clover, but this time was different. This time he thought clearly, even though he didn't want to admit it, having the soul of someone so kind began to slowly eat away at his evil.

"This is getting worrisome, Clover... You always do the same thing, you're always so predictable,“ Flowey reproached. ”You give your soul, you give up your life to give them hope, you're so determined... so determined to drive me CRAZY that even when I absorb your soul, you still annoy me. I've seen you live and suffer dozens of times, so many times that it no longer gives me satisfaction." Flowey paused, his petals trembling slightly at an intrusive thought.

“Curious, isn't it? So the most evil plant that always ruins my life finally cares. No... you know what? You won't fool me. I know you're still the same bastard you always were.”

“I know you hate me, Clover, even more than I hate you, but the fact that you consciously chose to give up your life for them gives me a lot to think about. To think about... how horrible your life on the surface must have been for you to want to die so badly. And, to tell you the truth, I neve—” He stopped short, his eyes widening, reflecting genuine confusion. “W-What? Why am I saying this? Am I feeling sorry for you?” He let out a dry, nervous laugh. “Heh, I have quite a few questions for you. You still surprise me, even in the smallest ways. But first, I want to know why you're so eager to suffer. I even have this terrifying feeling that you have some kind of fetish for having your soul ripped out.”

“You want to know so badly? All right, I'll tell you. Besides, I have nothing to lose, since you took everything from me.”

“...”

“......”

Having Clover's soul, Flowey was able to access him memories and drowned in them. He realized that the cowboy was telling the truth and could sense how much he hated him. Instead of simply laughing as usual, Flowey closed his eyes and paid attention. He saw all the opportunities the cowboy had, the incredible life Clover could have had underground. Having Clover's soul, he could feel something bitter, something that repudiated him. That something told him that his attitudes were never Just, and he couldn't help feeling disgusted with himself for allowing that feeling.

He was annoyed, but he also understood. "N-No, me? DAMN IT!!!! But that's impossible, I'm not supposed to feel anything..." Flowey felt more curious than ever. Of course, he still had his delusions of GOD, but at least now he was aware of it. He had completely taken Clover's life away from him. He had killed the only woman who truly cared about him, a part of him. an echo from the past was resonating. He remembered that he too had been afraid in his early days as a flower, searching for his mom and dad, but it wasn't until now that he finally got a soul, that he could feel the weight... of his sins.

“So that's why...”

Like Flowey, Clover began to realize what was really going on. He saw countless alternate lives and timelines because the Flower absorbing his soul. The cowboy could see those memories and finally understood that his fate was sealed....or at least, that's what he thought.

Flowey sank into the ground. He was certainly surprised; after dozens of runs where nothing changed, he decided it was time to do something different, to take a chance. Depending on what happened next, he would either RESET or continue on this new path.

Notes:

First of all, I am aware that the fanfic I am writing may seem like a copy of another work. I swear that is NOT my intention, but I apologize in advance nonetheless. Now, I'll get straight to the point. This fiction will be based on Shades of Justice because its pacifist route makes more sense for what happens in this fanfic. I apologize if this is a vague reason; I'm not very good at this. It's my first work, and that's all.

Well, as I say this, the truth is that I wasn't planning on writing a fanfic, let alone one about “this,” (To understand what I mean by “this,” I am NOT referring to the UTY fangame. It would be best to look at the tags to understand that.) but after seeing so many stories about Undertale yellow that were semi-tragic and others that were tragic, I decided to write my own fic, changing the formula. You'll see what I mean soon, maybe, but I'll try not to write clichés and stuff like that,, although now that I think about it, is chapter 1 already a cliché? Well, I don't really have the answer. To tell the truth, I got motivated and decided to do it when I saw how several fanfiction writers write works of art. Thank you very much for being my inspiration.

PD.: As I said, this is my first work, and I speak Spanish, so I have to use DeepL to translate the chapters. If there are any mistakes, that's why. I don't mean to say I'm lazy. I've checked it, but I'm not perfect. Thank you very much to anyone who has taken the time to read this <3
