Chapter Text
10 pm, that's what the clock reads
I could barely keep my eyes open. Pretty funny if you think about it. Tonight is just like all other nights. I problaby should've drank a cup of coffee for breakfast.
The boxes were heavy, but I manage to get the last of it into the train. Dyle shuts the door right after that and locks it up with his master keys.
"Excellent work, Brightney! A big thank you once again for your help at such late night hours. I could never trust Dandy with that kind of work, he sleeps at the first sight of moonlight!"
"Heh, your welcome... Happy to help..."
"Say, I suggest you get some sleep soon. You look exausted."
"Mmmm, you're right.... Not to be rude, but don't you get a bit sleepy from working so late every day?"
"Nope, not at all. I suppose being the train conducter means that night owl genes are gifted to me. When... *They*... made me...."
"Are you still mad at them for not putting you in the show?"
"...A bit..."
He shook his chain ponytail a bit, looking through the schedule.
"So, are you aware that tommorrow, you've got to keep us updated on the toon's behavoiur and how the whole investigation has been going?"
"Yes, yes. I've joted down eveyrhting you two need to know."
"Wonderful, then. Get some rest now, you'll need it."
"Mmm.... Goodnight Dyle...."
"Sweet dreams, Brightney."
Our footsteps echo through the silent Gardenview. A ray of light shimmering down on the tree. I carry my limp body towards the elevator, pressed the first button, and focus on the humming noises of the machine.
Every details that I see is a blur to me. I just want to lay in bed. But I also don't get it, why am I this tired? Burnout? Wrong sleeping position? Rough conditions?
...
As soon as I plop my body on the bed, my world goes dark...
