Work Text:
“Hey Fries!” Puffball asked, sitting next to Fries on the red couch in the elimination room’s lobby.
“Yeah?” Fries responded, putting down a disposable cup of water.
“What do you think of trans males who don’t want to transition physically? Like, they still want to be like feminine but, they wanna use he/him and be a male. Whatcha think about that?” Puffball said, hoping that Fries would be fine with that.
“Well, that’s okay. I’m a trans male but, I use any pronouns. Everyone expresses their gender differently. Why did you ask?”
“Well, I’m a boy… It’s okay if you don’t want to be with me anymore..” Puffball said, holding in tears. He knew that it was risky to come out, especially considering he’d been in a relationship with Fries for a while now. He felt guilty for waiting so long, but he knew he had to do it.
“Eraser! I was right! I knew it! Now you can give me the ten dollars!” Fries yelled excitedly.
“Ugh, fine!” Eraser replied, grabbing a ten dollar bill out of his room. “Welp, good job on coming out.” Eraser added, patting Puffball on the head.
“Huh? What’s going on?”
“Oh, you didn’t hear? Eraser and Fries made a bet about if you would come out about your gender first or your sexuality.” Teardrop replied using the AAC she often carried around.
“In all seriousness though, I’m proud of you.” Fries smiled, hugging Puffball.
“Thanks, I know we probably won’t be able to be together after this, but, I appreciate your support Fries.” Puffball said, starting to cry knowing that his relationship would probably be over.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Eraser asked.
“Well, it’s just that, now that I’m a boy, Fries is probably going to have to break up with me.” Puffball answered, slightly regretting his choice to come out.
“Dude?” Teardrop typed, seeming amused.
“Huh? Are you glad that my relationship is over?!” Puffball spat.
“Uhm, I don’t think it is?” Eraser awkwardly giggled.
“Fries?” Puffball asked, thinking that Fries would explain to them that their relationship was over.
“I don’t see you any differently. I just have a boyfriend know, not a girlfriend! I was pretty sure you were trans anyways!” Fries smiled, cuddling Puffball even tighter.
“You don’t see me any differently?”
“Nope! I’m pan so it doesn’t even make my attraction to you any different!” Fries laughed, starting to cry happy tears.
“I love you Fries.”
“Love you too Puffball!” Fries knew he didn’t have a girlfriend anymore, he had a boyfriend. And he didn’t mind it.
