Work Text:
Tom Riddle could never, ever love anyone. It was as simple as that, but he could grow comfortable with ones presence. You unfortunately had been the one person he never wanted to be rid of, so he made you his wife. His manipulation throughout his time at Hogwarts ensured that you were very much in love with him; meaning you will always remain loyal to him and him alone.
His plan to have an heir was now being worked on. You were five months pregnant with the Dark Lords offspring, something he relished in. He held more power of you than you could ever even realize. Your ties with him would never cease if you ever decide to up and run; not that you ever would. Very much in love, very naive even now. Stupid little girl.
He often thought of you as such but would never say it to you. You belonged to him and he did love when you were complaint on your own fruition. How you begged him multiple times to take you, how you got on your knees to pledge your devotion each day, he loved every minute of it. It was his, you were his.
The thought of it being gone one day caused him distress. An emotion he could feel, and he hated it. He hated that you had power over him as well, he would never let you know you did but nevertheless you did. Any plea you made to him, he would simply say as you wish. Anything you desired was yours within the hour. He wouldn't dare let his precious wife go without; no matter who he had to kill to get it.
That is why when you told him just minutes ago that you did not want to be immortal, he lost it. You wanted to live your life and die when the time comes. Truly, you were a stupid girl. His stupid girl.
"You must do so for us to remain a family." He calmly told you, he would not let his emotions show what he truly felt. He would manipulate the situation to fit what he wanted.
"Tom, I want to grow with our child with my soul still intact."
"Want? What about what I want?" He grabbed your hands while standing in front of you. "Please, love. Won't you do this for me? Don't you want me to happy?"
"Of course, I do. I just," You stopped to think about what to even say to him, he was very persuasive when he wanted something. If he wanted you to divide your soul up, then you would have no choice. "Tom. I don't have a choice, do I?"
His eyes glazed over with a darkness you knew too well. The demon that took over him, his otherworldly self that seeked domination. This time it was directed towards you, usually it only consumed him when he was planning to take over the Wizarding World.
"You will not take yourself away from me. I will allow you stay as yourself for but a few years. When the time comes, you will submit to me. Does that sound fair, love?" His thumbs caressed your hands that he held tightly.
You mumbled a incoherent understanding. His brows raised slightly, his nails dug into your hands now. "I said, does that sound fair?"
"It does."
"Good, good. You know I hate when I have to be so commanding,"
"You don't, you love it."
He only smiled in response, taking his hands away from your own before walking out of the room and locking the door behind him. He saw the flicker in your eyes, perhaps your love for him was fading. He would just have to ensure you wouldn't escape his grasp before he made his plans for you.
So, he planned an attack on his own little house when you were there. He would scare you from the idea of ever leaving.

That was where you were now, the little house that you owned with Tom. You loved it more than the big mansions he would keep you at regularly, those belonged to his followers. But this little cottage was yours.
Pieces of wood flew around the room as you used magic to assemble a crib, only four more months to go before you would be singing to the child in your belly to sleep in here. It had to be perfect. You had managed to get paint to create a enchanted ceiling but you would need the help of someone who wasn't pregnant for that project.
The soft sound of music playing on the muggle item you acquired could be heard downstairs. Tom actually bought that item for you when you mentioned loving muggle music, he didn't approve but he supplied nonetheless. Food was cooking on the stove for when your husband would return home, it wouldn't be until late into the night.
The sound of a loud bang came from downstairs making you jump out of shock. "Search the house!"
You felt your stomach drop. Stomps of heavy feet could be heard opening every room until they finally managed to find the baby room you resided in. They held up their wands to you, "Hands up or I swear I'll send a curse so bad it'll end your life!" The boy who said such was very young, he seemed more scared than anything else. An empty threat that was to protect himself.
Someone knocked him upside the head. "Don't be threatening pregnant women! Has your mother taught you nothing?" The one who did that exclaimed before the pointing at her at you. "Now, miss. Do you realize what house you are currently occupying?"
You had to lie if you wanted to see your husband again. "No? I'm sorry but what is going on?"
"You-know-whos house. That is who!" The boy screamed out as if you were dumb.
"She's lying." Another voice spoke up, holding the picture frame of your wedding day. Tom was holding you from behind with smiles on each of your faces. "She's his wife, that bastard is his kid. We will take her to the ministry, if she doesn't comply then kill her."
Your eyes widened and you instinctively put your arms over your belly to protect your unborn child. "Please, do not harm my child. I will come with you!"
"I say kill the unborn evil in her belly before it causes chaos on us."
The three looked at you as if you were filth. "He's right, why should his baby get to live but ours do not?"
"Very well but keep her alive."
You ducked behind a pile of wood, reaching for your wand to protect yourself. They sent a few curses your way all of which you dodged with practiced ease. After multiple failed attempts to try to flee, you found yourself exhausted. If you gave up though, your unborn child would die.
"Tom, please. I'm scared." You whispered hoping that by some miracle your husband and his followers would show up. The screams of terror started making your head perk up in curiosity.
"Where are you?" Tom's voice rung out, it seemed almost too calm for you but you ignored that and ran to him.
Jumping into his arms after seeing him, he held you tightly in his arms. "My dear, what happened? Are you alright?"
Your words came out all jumbled together as you cried into his shoulder. His hand went into your hair while the other one rubbed circles on your lower back. "Please, Tom. Don't leave me by myself again. I'm so scared."
His eyes looked over at the dead bodies that he just killed before smiling. "I would never dream of it but I do need you to promise that you'll be like me one day. Can you do that?"
You nodded fiercely, just wanting comfort from your husband. He kissed the top of your head. "Good, we will do the unbreakable vow on it then."
"Right now? Tom-"
"I just saved your life and you still are fighting me on this. I saved our unborn child, give me this." His eyes glared down at you as you slowly nodded before holding out your arm to accept your fate. He smiled gently and patted your face with one hand. "Good girl."
