Psychonauts headcanons!!

Summary:

It does what it says on the tin. Headcanons about the Psychonauts world, characters—anything I can come up with, actually. Stay tuned because there will be more in the future.

Chapter 1: Psychic Ability Over-use

Psychic Ability Over-use.


Ability over-use: The general symptoms of over-use are headaches, of course, and on occasion a sensitivity to light. However every ability has their own individual symptoms.


TK Hands: The hands shake violently and can have a loss of grip strength/motor functions. There's a chance that it disappears in the middle of grabbing/holding something.


Lev Ball: The ball is malformed, either being halfway deflated or a different shape entirely. It's bouncy/floaty properties are minimal. It has a high chance of popping if the user bounces/floats too high.


Cryokinesis: The user has something similar to brain-freeze and their body temp lowers rapidly while using it, having the possibility to cause hypothermia. The ice they make also melts easily/is very thin.


Pyrokinesis: The user has an incredibly high body temp/has a high risk of spontaneous combustion. The flames they make can be extinguished easily/they can only make small flames.


PSI-Blast: The user's blast can jam sort of like a gun and can cause migraines, bad moods/mood swings, and aggressive tendencies due to the large amount of mental aggression needed to fire a PSI-Blast.


Mental Connection: The connection is thin/faulty and can accidentally connect multiple thoughts/the wrong thoughts entirely. It also has the rare chance of making a normal thought into a dark thought.


Zoolpathy/Herbaphony: The user becomes aphasic. A.K.A, unable to understand animals/plants. That and the speech could be jumbled to the point where sentences and even words are completely scrambled.


Hydrokinesis: The user becomes dehydrated easily and is unable to control large amounts of water. There's also a possibility that, depending on the level of exhaustion and possible mood, the water could boil or freeze over.


Invisibility: Some limbs/extremities may not turn invisible at all and/or the user could only become transparent or "see-through". The possibility of only the skin/organs becoming invisible also increases.


Archetypes: The Archetype may be out of character, unruly and unwilling to follow commands, or lacking their original strength. There's also a possibility of it appearing to be crumpled/paper jammed.


Telepathy: Signals can get mixed and any words that do get sent over the link are garbled. Think of a bad radio signal. There's also a chance where the user forms a link to the wrong person/broadcasts their thoughts.


Confusion: The grenades can randomly go off even if the pin hasn't been pulled yet. The user also has a high chance of completely forgetting a piece of information. The level of exhaustion directly correlates to how important the information is.


Clairvoyance: The user has a chance of seeing from the wrong person's eyes. They also have the possibility of not seeing anything at all, having visual hallucinations and causing the Clairvoyance target to also hallucinate.


I know that these aren't all the powers but these are most of them so feel free to give me any recommendations, suggestions, or ideas in the comments.
