It’s his 10th birthday. The one thing he’d been talking about all week…and he overslept.
Bri decided not to wake him. It’ll be his own damn fault if he’s late.….So her Pikachu did it instead.
”CHUUUUU!”
”WAAAAH-ALL RIGHT I’M UP!”
Damn it.

She didn’t know if she wanted to go with him. Delia wanted her to, naturally. “You should go with him. He’ll need someone with experience.”
Surely someone else will come around and fill that role. He doesn’t need her holding his hand.
They didn’t have anyone holding theirs and look how that turned out. That asshole up and left them here
Unfortunately Delia decided to consult the professor on the subject. He thought it was a good idea, so out the door she went. He knew best, after all. He was a professor. Delia liked to say that a lot.
Never mind his “best” idea invoked almost getting her killed. Why does Delia still trust him after that? Bri didn’t.
Maybe she thought things would turn out differently this time. Bri wasn’t too hopeful.

Sooo turned out Ash got a Pikachu too. No Arceus it’s not funny stop laughing. And a Pokédex that Bri will never use in her life, she swore on it.
The kicker was that Oak tried to giver her one too. She doesn’t need that! She has allll her papers right here! Of the Pokédex entries! So she’s all good, thank you.
Ash asked her how she got all that information. She didn’t answer him, so Oak said she already went on a journey that snitch and Ash was probably gonna ask her more questions that she didn’t care to answer so she already went outside.

Everyone came to town to see Ash off not like anyone did that for them and then who shows up driving a car of all things with fangirls at his heels?
Gary Motherfucking Oak.
Blue still took the cake for asshole rival in her opinion. Gary was just all talk and no action.
What a coincidence these two kids share a birthday? Bri almost found that funny and her Pikachu was laughing on her shoulder. They turned to her wondering why Pikachu was laughing. Bri wondered how her he even bought a car much less could drive it. One of the fangirls said he was borrowing it which…yeah that made sense she guessed.
Bri decided to be a little helpful and reminded him about Pikachu going in his pokeball and to like…actually do that. So Ash and Pikachu played catch with the pokeball which Bri did giggle at because it was funny.
After Delia embarrassed him in front of the whole town and him and Gary started their rivalry tm they set off on their journey.

“Can I see those papers again?”
”No? Go get your own information?” She’s not here to be used as a Cheat Sheet For Pokémon Journeys tm you know.
She also wanted to talk to him less than usual since he was dragging Pikachu along with a clothesline which the poor little guy wasn’t happy about, but he didn’t seem to want to listen to Ash either. Her Pikachu was glaring daggers at Ash and really wanted to Iron Tail the pokemon out (and Bri did too) but she didn’t let him. If they wanna be stubborn then be stubborn.
After the Pokédex told Ash that some pokemon didn’t like to be in pokeballs, he released the mouse from the clothesline, finally.

Oh, a wild Pidgey appeared. Obviously Ash was going to catch it…by throwing a Pokeball at it which failed.
Bri said that you had to battle the Pokemon first with his Pikachu, who ran up a tree to watch. Honestly Bri couldn’t blame him, she wanted to watch this too.
So Ash decided that if Pikachu wasn’t willing, Bri wasn’t gonna help, and the Pokeball failed he was just gonna…throw his pajamas over it. Obviously that failed and he got attacked in response, which Bri and his Pikachu found funny. Bri’s Pikachu did not though and slammed an Iron Tail on her foot to get her to stop laughing. Whatever, he just doesn’t understand her sense of humor.
A Ratata was going through Ash’s bag when he wasn’t paying attention, so he chased it off. The Pokedex, being helpful as usual, explained that it was a Ratata and it lived in forests. Ash replied that they weren’t in a forest.
“Occasionally Ratata will emerge to steal food from stupid travelers.”
That set Bri and Ash’s Pikachu off again.
Apparently that wasn’t the smart thing to do because Ash threw a stone at a nearby Pidgey-
Oh. Yeah no she isn’t sticking around for this. Her and Pikachu booked it to Viridian City immediately.
