Chapter Text
Prologue(Tony pov)
It has been almost a week since the Avengers, and a dude named Eddie with a freaking Symbiote, were pulled into a room to react to a musical. Epic: The Musical, based on the Odyssey.
The ones who brought them there though, were no myth nor divine beings, no. It was two teenage girls. Tony still remembers the shock he had when he realized they were almost Peter's age if not younger.
Luna and Mia, their names were. The girls, according to Mia, gained their powers not so long ago; when the Watcher Uatu of Tony's universe 616 interfered with something he shouldn't have and changed the fate of the Avengers, Uatu summoned said teens, thought them a couple things about their powers and basically left them to clean his mess before the Watchers took him for consequences.
Uatu was a jerk if you asked Tony, but he never heard either of the girls openly complain about him so who was he to judge.
The two hour meeting they held after the last song still lingered in his mind. Boy was that an emotional song, but that was not the point, the point was;
(Flashback to one week ago, the reaction room)
Tony wanted to hide his own tears, but he was also busy consoling a crying Peter in his arms, so that was little hard to do so. Not that he cared about his looks at the moment, Nobody cared, the whole team has been a mess for the last fifteen or so minutes.
He heard Luna's cracked voice coming from the ceiling,
"How is everyone doing?" the girl took a deep breath to stabilise herself, didn't really work.
Clint ruffled his hair as he sighed,
"You had us cheering for a -well deserved- mass murder, then cry and weep like a bunch of kindergartners, how do you think we are?" He cracked a small smile, this was especially hard for him for he was thinking about Laura and the kids the whole time, putting himself in Odysseus' place.
"Right now," Captain spoke, "I hate you and love you at the same time for making us go through this." He shook his head, last of the tears drying on his face.
"A pleasure to share the trauma with you Captain." Mia chuckled. Her voice wasn't better, it came sore and muffled, like she was covering her mouth with her hands.
A few silent minutes passed. Even the two Princes of Asgard were ruined, Thor wasn't so shy about showing his wet eyes, Loki on the other hand was completely mute for the last two songs, and he was holding his daggers like a life or death situation.
Scott Lang, joining them rather late thanks to some- complications, was almost howling with cries. His shoulders were trembling, the glass of water in his hand had spilled on the floor moments ago, but he didn't care. He just wanted to see Cassie, to hug her, to tell her what a great daughter she was. He grabbed his hair in a fist, oh how proud he was of her.
As usual, Doctor Stephen Strange was the first one to ruin the moment by being all serious and getting to business.
"Now, we need to talk about you girls." He cleared his throat.
"Well," Luna began but didn't say anything else.
"What are we going to do about you? I already said I want to train you properly, and best way to do that is if you come to our universe, to the tower to be exact." He shook his head.
Tony chimed in,
"I agree with Wizard for once, but allow me to present the problems;
We still can't see neither of you, you have your own parents that I assume would be worried if you just went poof into another universe, and we don't know basic things about your powers. Anything I missed?" He turned to Peter who shook his head,
"Nothing comes to mind Mr. Stark."
Bruce rubbed his chin,
"Maybe we can do a quick safe experiment right now,"
"I'm gonna have to ask you to elaborate."
"This room, or portal as you see it, is a safe environment isn't it? If Doctor Strange can open a Mirror Dimension, you can try to make yourselves appear in here without doing harm."
Strange hesitated,
"But we don't know what that can do to them. Plus, Luna is controlling the time on their side, if she comes here then the time in her house will continue normally, and the soundproofing might disappear, and we'll have to deal with parents on top of everything."
"Also," Clint added, getting fresh coffee,
"Mia is controlling the time in our universe from there, what if doing both that and trying to come here exhausts her so much and messes with either our timeline or her literal existence or BOTH?"
Natasha nodded,
"We still don't know their power range, but if you, Strange, help balancing the time for a short amount of- well, time- with the Eye of Agomotto, it might help them to gather enough power."
Mia's offended voice came,
"Uhm, hello? The subjects of your conversations are BOTH present and they can HEAR you."
"Can we add our thoughts please?" Luna asked.
Steve gestured,
"Yes, girls, sorry."
"We don't have to try and appear at the same time," said Luna,
"I can take Mia's part while she tries coming there, and once she's there, she'll have enough power with Strange's help to balance mine, and I can try my turn."
"But that's dangerous Luna, you might hurt yourself by holding too many things." Bucky disagreed.
"Not if I let go of time and sound control on here, I'll tell my parents we're watching an action movie or something so it won't be too suspicious. Plus they're both heading out for work in an hour or so. We should be fine."
"I don't know." Nat said,
"There are too many ifs."
"Well we gotta help them." Tony argued.
"And we will, I'm just saying we should discuss more."
"Luna's plan can work," Strange said,
"But what happens after that?"
"Actually," Mia chimed in,
"If I may, I was thinking, we can't always use our powers to keep balance between our time and yours if we come to 616, especially in training. BUT, it is almost summer in here, and we're gonna go to University. I was thinking maybe we can like, divide our time between here and there. If the Eye can help us, then we'll let the time in 616 go normally when we're here, but when we come there we'll slow down the time here so like, two weeks there would be one week or less in here, but when we're here one week is still one week. And we won't have to lie too much to our parents." She offered.
"Seems too complicated," Steve argued.
"I lost track of what you're saying like halfway through." Eddie nodded.
"I think it's doable." Doctor's head snapped up.
"You do?"
"It's complicated for sure. But we can brainstorm into making it simpler later, right now it'll work enough."
"So there comes the other issue," added Thor,
"We must know more about your powers before trying anything dangerous."
"See that would be amazing if we also knew more." Luna said sarcastically.
"Didn't this Uatu guy tell you anything? I thought he taught you guys for some time." Peter asked.
"He did, but he didn't quite explain, he just taught how to limit our power area to certain places: 616 and Luna's house. He also taught how to teleport you here, and then he was taken. We sorta taught ourselves after that by trial and error but we feared it could be dangerous so we hadn't done anything much." Mia explained.
Bruce huffed,
"In that case, let's take one step at a time. We can test the Mirror Dimension theory now. If you all agree."
The room collectively nodded and confirmed. Now was the time.
"Are you girls ready?" Sorcerer asked, and upon their confirmation,
"Here goes nothing..."
