Ewroon woke up warm—oddly warm. The polish caves always had him waking up shivering under his covers. He wasn't in the polish caves today, though. Instead, when he opened his eyes he was met with the unmistakable walls of Katie's house, a picture of herself plastered right above her bed—for some reason.
Next to him was her sleeping form, one of her arms was slung across his waist, holding him close. Ewroon lifted his paw, running his fingers through her hair slowly. He'd woken up in people's beds before, but it was often a get up and go situation. With Katie he was allowed to lay with her, enjoying the warmth of them stuck together.
Ewroon's stirring made Katie wake, her eyes fluttering open slowly, meeting Ewroon's sleepy face. Her lips curved into a lazy smile as she shifted closer to him, pressing her face into his cheek. "Morning, panda." She mumbles against his fur.
"Hello, Kate." Ewroon pulls her closer, still stroking the side of her head gently. When Katie's hair was down it was long and always so silky soft, Ewroon absolutely loved it. He wished that she'd always have it down, but maybe it's best that only he gets to see her like this. It was special.
Katie's lifted her head just a little, looking into his soft eyes. She raised her hand, cupping one of his fluffy cheeks. "Your fur gets all matted when you sleep." She giggles, using her fingers to shape the fur back to what it should be. "There you go." She admired her work, patting his cheek now.
This whole situation was heaven for Ewroon. He'd happily lay back and let her pick at him forever. She has magical touch—it must have some sort of drug in it. Anyone else doing this shit would probably lead to them getting their eyes poke out. "Am I handsome now?" He joked.
"No." Katie grins, sitting up so that she was over him, "You're the ugliest panda I've ever seen." Her smile never faded, it was obvious she thought she was hilarious. "And you're fat. That just adds insult to injury." Her finger comes out to poke him in the stomach.
Ewroon rolls his eyes, waving away her finger. "How'd I end up with a girl so cruel? My feelings are hurt now." He rolls onto his side, tail wrapping around his body protectively. This was his favorite game—the dramatics game.
"I'm just being honest." Katie scooted closer, grabbing his shoulder. She tugged but he wouldn't go back on his back. She let out a huff of laughter. "Oh you poor abused panda. You must hide yourself from your evil girlfriend." She pulled his tail away from his body, stroking it slowly, "How will you ever live in such a cruel environment?"
Ewroon pulled his shoulders up pitifully, "I don't know… because I love her… but she just hates me." He pretends to sniffle, thankful that she can't see his face because he's absolutely smiling ear to ear right now. "Maybe I'll have to leave her for… Juan."
"Juan?" Katie folded over him, laughing, "That's the worst person you could've chosen." She giggled into his side, clutching his tail to her chest.
Once she gained her composure back, she sat back up, releasing him. "Well, I guess if you're being so utterly abused, then I'll leave." She turns, beginning to slip out of bed onto the floor
Before Katie's feet could even hit the floor, Ewroon sat up and grabbed the back of her tank top. "I didn't mean go." He tugged her but she shook her head, pulling away. She faced away so that he didn't see that she was stifling a laugh.
"No… obviously you'll be better off without me, Ewroon." She straightens her top, slipping her feet into the unicorn shaped slippers at the end of the bed. Ewroom was right behind her, whining like a child.
"Kateee.." He grabbed at her hand, but she raised it away from him, "You're so mean." He follows her into the kitchen, stopping right behind her as she started the kettle on the counter. He put his arms around her waist, pushing his face into her back, "Katie." His tail swayed in frustration at the silent treatment. "You're making me look stupid, Katie."
Katie turned around, her brows raised as she tried to hold her best poker face, "You make yourself look stupid, Panda." She had to resist reaching out and grabbing his cheeks so she held onto the edge of the counter. "You're needy."
"No I'm not, I just don't react well to not being looked at or played attention to." He answers, holding onto her tighter. From her chest, he looked up at her. Katie's front began to break, a smile appearing on her lips. Ewroon knew this was victory. He rose to the tips of his paws to kiss her.
Katie kissed back, arms coming around him, "You always win." She sighs against his lips, running her fingers through his bright red hair slowly. Ewroon hummed into her touch, his tail coming around her legs.
"Okay, fatty. We really do have to get ready for the day. I have a meeting with the regime." She says pulling away, much to Ewroon's dismay. His grip on her stayed strong, his body following her as she tried to move away.
"When is it? I think we have some time…" He whines, nuzzling into her chest.
"It's at ten. It's nine now, ewroon. We do not have time." She pried him off, holding him back by his shoulders, "I will see you afterwards." She promises, unable to help an amused smile.
Finally Ewroon gave up, huffing as he dragged himself to the couch in the living room. His arms crossed as he sat down and curled up, tail folding over his lap easily.
Katie came in a couple moments later with her tea. She leaned down, kissing his forehead, "I'm going to get dressed. I love you, Panda." She squeezed his paw with her mug-warmed hand. "Don't mope all day."
"I wont…" Ewroon leans into her touch before relaxing back into the couch, "Love you." He pulls a throw blanket over his lap, laying his Head down on the couches arm rest. He wasn't usually up this early, so he'd just sleep while she was gone. It was easier that way, he couldn't miss her if he was asleep.
