Turbid Pro Quo

Summary:

After getting his boss fired and punching his client in the face, Apollo is a bit out of it. He still has to discuss payment with Phoenix though.

Notes:

Happy 4/20! I sure hope Apollo is having half as much fun as I write him (he is not having fun in canon)

I use words I'm comfortable using as a trans man, and I know not everyone feels the same way. Words used to describe Apollo's pre-op junk: pussy, clit, hole, vulva. If those make you uncomfortable, there are other fics on the site.

Work Text:

Winning a trial was good- it was impressive even- but immediately losing your job because your boss gets arrested?

Yeah, this was going to be a mess of paperwork to get his payment. And compensation for the situation.

If any existed.

God, was Apollo going to have to sue an already prosecuted Kristoph Gavin just to get his already earned salary so he could get enough money to pay rent for the month?

Apollo sat on the bench in the lobby, stewing in the mix of anger and confusion. In his brain, he was forming a to-do list. Go to the office and pack things up. Civilly discuss payment (and compensation) with Kristoph in jail. Remind him he can sue. Hope that doesn’t immediately shoot him in the foot. Hope that… Phoenix Wright does not press charges for assault.

Glancing up, being basked in shadow, Apollo let out a small gulp.

Phoenix Wright, still clad in his stupid hair-hiding beanie, stared down at him. “Hey.”

Hiding any emotion beyond annoyance, Apollo replied, “hey.”

There was still a pronounced red mark on Phoenix’s cheek. It hadn’t started to bruise, and he didn’t seem interested in hiding it too well either. “We haven’t discussed payment. Well, I have with Kristoph, but he’s got enough paperwork as it is.”

Of course that’s why he wanted to talk. “I’ll send an itemized bill,” Apollo suggested. He glanced aside. “I’m sure Mr. Gavin gave you some sort of ‘friends and family’ discount, so I’ll have to figure that out as well.”

Phoenix laughed. “If anything, Kristoph probably charged me double. We can discuss payment at my office. I already gave you the address.”

It was written on a scrap of paper, possibly a paper towel, and it sat shoved in Apollo’s breast pocket. “I do. But I’d need to get my laptop from my office so we could “discuss”, as you put it.”

“Sure,” Phoenix replied, far too calm and collected in Apollo’s eyes. “See you in an hour.” He strolled out of the building, hands back in his hoodie pockets.

Hopefully his daughter was out of the building as well. Why was she hanging around a courthouse on a Monday morning anyways? Didn’t she have school?

Maybe she was a dropout just like her father.

Apollo climbed onto his bike, pedaling as hard as he could to get to the Gavin Law Offices. There were a few cops crawling around, so Apollo had to let them inspect his desk for any potentially criminalizing information (as if Apollo would have given his boss the guilty verdict if he was in on it) before he could collect his stuff. He crammed what he could into his small brown backpack, wishing in the moment he had a bigger one. His laptop- which consequently had Phoenix’s files on it- was his main priority. If he couldn’t fit a snow globe or paper weight in, he’d just have to come back for it later.

Checking his watch before he left, Apollo cringed. Great. 45 minutes spent just getting his things. He would have loved to drop off what he didn’t need at his apartment, but he didn’t have the time. Instead, he lugged his heavy backpack down and pedaled to the street that Phoenix’s note included.

He didn’t even care that he was 10 minutes late, coming up the stairs at a quick pace. “I’m here!”

“Thank you for announcing it,” Phoenix said, comfortably sitting on a beat-up couch, “I didn’t hear you stomping up the stairs. Oh, don’t make that face.”

Apollo attempted to unscrunch his face. “An hour isn’t a lot of time when I have to talk to the police for half of it.”

He chuckled. “I’m sure it’s not. So, discussion?”

Putting his bulging bag down, Apollo dug out his laptop, sitting on the couch next to Phoenix. He tilted it away as he typed in the password and closed the chat window that was open. There was a new message, but Clay would have to wait. In his work folder, he pulled up his client billing, turning the laptop to face the both of them. “Here’s my rate, and here’s the individual additions. I think we can skip this charge because it’s not part of the Gavin Law Offices’ payroll anymore. I don’t know if men sent to death row need to do these kinds of taxes.”

Phoenix hummed. “Steep.”

“I got you the not guilty verdict,” Apollo bit. “A cheaper lawyer probably would have lost. And to Mr. Payne of all people.”

“Cocky, huh?” Phoenix laughed. “So that ‘friends and family’ discount you mentioned-”

“Speaking of family, where’s your daughter?” Apollo interrupted. “She’s clearly school age, but I saw her in court this morning.”

Phoenix seemed startled, as if he had never been questioned before. “She’s at school. Now at least. The school granted her the day off in case she needed to be in court. Her daddy was being accused of murder, after all. But since I got the not guilty, she figured she’d be fine to return and pass along the word so that no one thinks her daddy is a criminal. Well… he’s not a murderer.”

There was a tension as he said it, and Apollo felt just as tense hearing it.

And seriously? His daughter is how old and she still calls him that? Whatever.

“As I was saying,” Phoenix looped around, “friends and family discount. What percentage? Or is it a stagnant number?”

“Mr. Wright,” Apollo scoffed, eyes off to the side trying to get past the one-track mind, “if I’m being honest, you should probably forget that even existed. I am not your friend. And after all this, I’m not sure Kristoph was either.”

Phoenix leaned in. “But I could be your friend.”

Apollo leaned back. “Are you threatening me?” He had a clip of mace on his backpack and would willingly use it if Phoenix didn’t respond to mere punches.

“The opposite,” Phoenix assured. “I think you would enjoy what comes with being my friend.”

Apollo stared blankly.

“You ever been with another man, Apollo?” Phoenix asked.

Apollo shot straight up, taking a stand. “Mr. Wright! That is none of your business!” A heavy red fog of embarrassment clouded his face.

“Shhh,” Phoenix coaxed, wrapping an arm around Apollo’s thin legs. “You don’t need to shout.” He palmed Apollo’s crotch. “I can take care of you and- hm?”

Apollo’s cheeks burned in annoyance. “Sorry, I don’t have the anatomy you’re hoping for-”

“That’s alright,” Phoenix cut in. “I take care of all of my friends.”

“Mr. Wright,” Apollo breathed as Phoenix ground the heel of his palm in, “this is wrong.”

“If you’re thinking this is prostitution, it’s not. I mean, you’re not paying me or anything.”

Apollo knew enough civil law to know this probably could fall under the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Or possibly go against the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidelines.

But of course, Phoenix was a customer, not an employee, nor a boss or manager. He was just a bum who couldn’t afford what he bought.

A… very hot bum…

One he harboured crush on for the longest time…

“Apollo?”

“F-fine.” He bit his knuckle. “You can earn a friends and family discount.”

“Yes, sir,” Phoenix replied, undoing Apollo’s buckle. He pulled down Apollo’s red trousers, letting them fall. The briefs were a cute plain white, which were stained wet at the crotch. “You’re wet.”

“Because you wouldn’t stop touching me.”

“Right.” He climbed off the couch, sitting on his knees, and leaned in, breathing deeply into Apollo’s groin. The smell of cotton, musk, and dampness filled his senses.

“G-get to the point.”

“Kids these days,” Phoenix scolded. “So impatient.” He took the briefs down, exposing Apollo’s pussy and unkempt bush. “Hello,” he muttered before slotting his face in, spreading the lips with his thumbs. His nose occasionally brushed Apollo’s clit as he lapped at the slick.

“Ah- Mr. Wright!” Apollo cried, placing his hand square on Phoenix’s beanie. It wasn’t the same as gripping hair, but it stayed in place just the same.

Phoenix pulled back for a second to suck on the nub, relishing as Apollo cried louder. He hummed breathily, the vibrations tickling Apollo. His suction was a bit intense and forceful, likely he had done this before and with more experienced receivers.

“T-too much,” Apollo whined, pushing at Phoenix’s head. His knees wobbled, panting breathily.

“Ride me.”

“Excuse me?” Apollo asked, incredulously.

“Ride my face,” Phoenix clarified. “You feel so good. You taste so good. But… you’re about to fall over.”

That was not untrue. Apollo’s cunt throbbed in anticipation. “Okay,” he muttered.

Just okay?” Phoenix asked, a smirk and slick on his lips.

“Yes. Please.” He dry swallowed. “Lie down, asshole.”

“If you insist.” Phoenix lounged on the couch, patiently watching Apollo shed his shoes, letting the rest of his clothing sit on top of them. Wobbling, he walked towards the couch and crawled over Phoenix’s waiting face. He sat on his heels, his legs on either side of Phoenix, crotch slightly raised so he could just barely look down at Phoenix’s face.

“C’mere,” Phoenix coaxed, cupping Apollo’s firm ass and pulling him down to sit properly. He pressed feather-light kisses all over his groin, pulling away before Apollo could successfully complain each time. Apollo’s heartbeat was starting to speed up, staring skyward. Not feeling enough attention, Phoenix started to lap at the budding liquid before sticking his tongue in.

“Mr. Wright!” Apollo cried, only getting the tongue pushed deeper into him as a reply. Phoenix’s short beard hairs were lightly scratching Apollo’s thighs, but he couldn’t feel anything, already lost in the sensation. He had to grip the side of the couch to not fall over, or buck too hard back at Phoenix.

Which wasn’t to say he didn’t at all.

Phoenix’s hands gripped Apollo’s ass tighter before one let go to smack one of the cheeks. Apollo mewled out before his blushing face became a deeper red. “D-don’t do that.”

“You sure?” Phoenix asked, pulling away for a second. As soon as Apollo went to reply, Phoenix attacked his clit again, sucking hard.

“Yes, I am-mmm,” he groaned, biting his lips as his fingers gripped the couch tighter. Out of the interest of fairness, Phoenix smacked the other side, laughing breathily as Apollo pretended that he hated it.

It was nothing like his fantasies as a college student; the idea of Phoenix Wright being on campus randomly and fucking him in his dorm room. It was much more intense, more raw and wet. It especially wasn’t like how Apollo would jack himself off, the pressure of a tongue being far more filling than the short number of fingers Apollo was willing to test.

Fuck,” he whimpered, “fuck.” Apollo could hear his voice raising, so he covered his mouth with his hand. He shouted into his palm as he came, gushing onto Phoenix. His back and legs twitched as Phoenix licked through the aftershocks.

When Apollo seemed sufficiently “cleaned up”, Phoenix lifted him slightly to press a chaste kiss to Apollo’s vulva, before pulling away. “You still keeping up?”

Apollo’s eyes were closed, staring at the ceiling. He just panted under his hand until he realized he was being talked at. “I’m alive.”

“That’s good.” Phoenix lifted Apollo up completely, placing him back on the couch. He grabbed a tissue and cleaned the wet parts of his face. Looking over at Apollo, he saw him face-first into the couch, still going through the motions. Gently, he used a different tissue to clean Apollo’s sticky thighs.

“So,” Phoenix said, clearing his throat. “What’s the friends and family discount?”

Apollo was quiet, shuddering slightly. “15%”

“Only 15%?” Phoenix asked. He trailed his fingers down the globes of Apollo’s ass. “Anything I can do to raise it another 5%?”

“Ten.”

Phoenix let go. “Getting the picture.”

The two were silent before Apollo sighed, pulling his vulva to the side, showing off his hole. He sighed, not wanting to regret it just from the shame burning through him. “If you can make me cum that hard again, it’s 20%.”

“Yes, sir,” Phoenix said, getting up to look for a condom.
