Work Text:

Working as a teacher meant that you have to stay professional at all times.

No students had the obligation to know anything about your personal life, what you do in your free time, and what you eat everyday. So how come every student in 2-A was pestering Shota on who his secret wife was?

They already had the first thing wrong, but unbeknownst to him, all his students were already scheming up some sort of plan to really know who snatched his cold heart away from his sad life and finally made his life somewhat bearable..

“Is this bento something she did for you Mr. Aizawa?” Mina with dozens of papers suddenly popped out and went beside Shota who was sitting down in his office space eating his lunch. He didn’t even know how she was able to come in during lunch break!

He grumbled and closed his bento, “Ms. Ashido, have I told you how students are forbidden to enter the teachers’ lounge during lunch?” he asked her, no, he reminded her about the rules. She sighed exaggeratingly and dragged both her feet towards the exit. She looked back to Shota expecting him to take back what he said, but all she received was silence.

It was a defeat.

Shota yawned as he finally entered his shared apartment with his boyfriend, marriage in Japan wasn’t legalized yet. It meant both of them had to get used to the terms “boyfriends” until the Japanese government finally realized that they’re like any other normal couple that deserved happiness too.

“I’m home,” he announced, Hizashi peeked his head to look at the door and found his boyfriend looking dirty, tired, and filled with little bruises and wounds after juggling his work as a teacher during the day and as a hero patrolling at night. He looked at him concerningly and was about to come forward to help him when Shota raised his hands to stop him, “I’m okay, I’ll just shower and change and I’ll come to you in a bit.”

Hizashi nodded, “Alright, dinner will be served soon!”

He stared at the wall inside his bathroom as cold water dripped down to his face down to his body, he looked down and saw all the dirty water entering the drainage and wondered to himself. Why were all his students suddenly focused on who he was dating? This wasn’t a problem at all during their first-year considering all they were focused on at that time was studies, training, and villains coming their way 24/7. So what changed?

After finishing up and finally feeling like a newborn baby with a new set of fresh clothing there he went to the kitchen where Hizashi was in. He hugged him from behind and nuzzled his nose onto his neck making his boyfriend yelp in surprise, “Ready to eat?” he asked him. Shota didn’t respond and just hugged him even tighter.

“I missed you,” he confessed. “Like.. a lot.”

Hizashi chuckled and stayed silent until he properly faced Shota, “I missed you more,” and pinched his cheeks, “Even if we just saw each other this morning.”

Shota smiled at his cute little remark and gave him a peck on the lips. Even if both of them weren’t married, both of them didn’t mind this kind of life until they both grew gray hair. To them, being married was an event that costed large amount of money, talking to people, and trying out expensive suits. But if that were to happen, marriage also wouldn’t hurt. Shota did want the world to know who his husband was, they wanted everyone to know they belonged to each other.

They had that feeling ever since both of them were in high school, the same year his problem children were in.

“So you’re saying… that they’re suddenly curious about who your “wife” is?” Hizashi laughed at what situation he was in at the moment, “They got the first guess wrong already!” he laughed even louder while little bits of rice came out of his mouth. This is the sight he sees every time he goes home that his students had no idea was happening, his boyfriend in front of him being disgusting as always while eating but he didn’t mind that. Ever since he met Hizashi, his heart suddenly had a space for forgiveness. That’s why love is something he could never understand, but he was used to it. But if love was Hizashi, then he understood why everyone was so fond of it.

Hizashi gulped down what he was eating and looked at Shota, “But you’re okay with it right?” he suddenly went back to thinking about what he felt again. Was he okay with it? It’s not like his world will end once his students will find out who he was with. It’s not like their job is on the line since both Nezu and some of the teachers knew how special their relationship was with each other, but what did bother him was the teasing and banter from a bunch of teenagers in the near future, and how Hizashi will probably encourage all of them with whatever they had on their minds. Just thinking about it gave him a headache.

“Not really, it’ll just tire me out if they decide to tease me like a bunch of teenagers,” he said to him, fixing his and Hizashi’s plate after finishing eating, “But then again, they’re teenagers.”

Hizashi gave him a kiss on the cheek while he carried the dishes to the sink and he himself made  his way to the couch, plopping himself immediately on it. Both him and Shota had the same job, but he was more focused on paper work during the evening inside the agency he worked in.

He grabbed the remote and opened the TV, “Well, let’s wait until they get something right.” and laughed with the thought of his students’ faces after finding out their teachers were mega, ultra, triple gay.

“I don’t get why we’re pestering Aizawa-sensei with his personal life! We should all hold off and wait until he says it himself!” Tenya said to the classroom in front of him. He was the last person to know of it since everyone knew this was the exact thing he was gonna say about their plan.

Denki scoffed at what he said, “Live a little man! And It’s not like we’re doing something illegal… Toru will just follow him and spy on him, and when she finally sees his wife then BOOM! Mission complete. It’s that easy!” Tenya turned even more red after finding out the detailed plan they wanted to do. “Absolutely not!” he yelled with both his hands going stiff and swaying it around, “The teachers deserve their own privacy and time with themselves! And plus, what if Aizawa-sensei doesn’t even have a wife?! Then what will we do?!”

“I told you we shouldn’t have told him about it!” Katsuki rolled his eyes and huffed in annoyance after being dragged to know about this illegal activity. Eijiro awkwardly laughed and went to the front to be beside Tenya and placed his arms onto his shoulders, “If Aizawa-sensei doesn’t have a wife then we can conclude that he’s alone in his life, easy as that!” he reassured him.

“What about my lonely life?” A voice spoke out at the entrance, all their heads whipped to the side and saw their teacher with papers on his hands, “Mr. Aizawa!—” Tenya was about to speak up about the situation when Eijiro shut him up using his hand and dragged him back to his seat.

Shota could already tell what the topic of the conversation was before he even entered, he could tell with their faces and how the atmosphere in the room went awkward when he went in. He sighed tiringly and placed his papers on the teachers’ table. “Okay, lay it on me. What questions are burning in your heads right now?,” he opened the floor for a simple question-and-answer portion, which meant anyone could ask anything. “The floor is yours.”

Mina immediately raised her hands and Shota pointed at her, letting her ask a burning question, “How’d you and your wife meet?!” she asked excitedly. He thought for a second and pondered if he should really tell, it’s not like the way they met was some kind of fairy tale magic, they didn’t fall in love at first sight, if anything Shota hated Hizashi because of how loud he was!

But he had no choice but to be blunt, he did let them ask questions about his love life. This was the consequences of his actions. “We met in high school like you guys. We were classmates.” he answered, Mina sat back down but you could easily tell how unsatisfied she was with his answer. It was just like he wanted. He wanted them to have their hopes high and think that they finally have some sort of clue to who his “wife” was.

Izuku’s bulb suddenly lit up, “That means she’s a hero!” he pointed it out. Making most of the class gasp in shock and their energy suddenly came back. Their first clue was she was a hero serving the civilians. Shota chuckled at him, they had a clue that was finally correct for once. That meant his class wasn’t stupid after all.

“Is that it?”

Eijiro raised his hands and stood up, finally asking his burning question. “How’d you fall in love with your wife?” which gained everyone's approval with how direct it was, and all Izuku had to do was ask for the class picture of the time their teacher was a student. ‘Maybe I should even interview the teachers! Like Present Mic!’ Izuku thought to himself.

God, first-year Shota loathed Hizashi the first time they met. He was loud, energetic, and his quirk didn’t make it any better. Everyone in the room loved him and that eventually led to everyone in the school loving him, he didn’t care if he was popular, he didn’t care if everyone wanted to be friends with him. What irritated him the most was how Hizashi was all up to his business every. single. day.

Hizashi and Oboro wanted to be where Shota was and he hated that. It was so severe to the point that everyone thought they were the trio that loved each other the most in the entire school and wouldn’t leave each other alone. 16-year-old Aizawa Shota hated(loved) that with all his heart.

That is until second-year came.

An incident happened and both of them lost their best friend Oboro. How it ended up with Shota blaming himself the most after not being able to save him knowing he was the one nearest to his site, if only he was there a minute earlier. Maybe Oboro would’ve been the first person to know about the two of them. After that incident, Shota had become fully dependent on Hizashi since he was the only person willing to take care of him despite how hard-headed he was that time, he was the only person that kept reminding him to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

At first they were just two close friends taking care of each other while going through grief and hurt, but it eventually deepened the more time they spent with each other. How it became a relationship with both of them longing every second they didn't spend time with each other. And when Nemuri pointed out how they acted like an old married couple, he didn’t mind that at all.

Shota no longer hated Hizashi, in fact it was the complete opposite. First-year Shota would’ve been shocked to find out the situation they were in with each other during the second-year, he would’ve been shocked with how life will be like during that time.

Shota looked at Denki who was anticipating his answer stood there awkwardly until he finally coughed once. “Just a couple of friends to lovers.” which made the whole room scream in excitement and the fact that a 31-year-old Aizawa Shota knew such a term. Ochako squealed with Mina and talked to her about how cute it was, while some of the boys were left dumb-founded. They were expecting something more.

He smiled at the sight in front of him, this was exactly how he knew it would play out. He looked at the time and back to them, “We have 10 minutes left before homeroom ends, any other questions?” Izuku raised his hands and stood up, “Mr. Aizawa! Who were the first people that found out about it?”

‘Does he think I’m stupid?’ Shota thought to himself, if he answered this question he knew Izuku would ask each and every one of the people he mentions about his so-called relationship soon enough. He sighed at him, well there was no point. The first person who knew about it was his boyfriend himself, and the second one died during the war, he’ll just have to communicate with Hizashi about this after homeroom. He cleared his throat and looked at the clock again, “Present Mic. You’ll have him as your third period.”

Izuku cheered on the inside and sat back down with satisfaction after finding a perfect candidate to interview about what they really wanted to know. “Alright, greet your next teacher with respect. Goodbye.” He said his final greeting and went out of the door, he searched for his phone inside his pocket and pulled it out. Hizashi had to know.

Me

They’re gonna ask you about my wife. Just a heads up.

And please, it’ll be very funny if you're as vague as possible, everyone thinks you’re a woman that serves the civilians like a pro hero you are.

This heads up is taken

Maybe I'll act like a woman!

That serves the civilian like a pro hero I’m meant to be ❤️

Hizashi laughed to himself upon hearing about what the students thought of him. He looked at the brightly colored 2-A door and entered for their third period. “What’s up guys!” he greeted enthusiastically, “How we’ve been!” he smiled brightly at them. But all he was faced with was students with serious expressions in front of him, it felt like he was in a press conference once again after addressing the aftermath of the war. He awkwardly smiled and placed down his learning materials for his subject and placed both his hands on his hips, “What’s with the energy guys?”

Izuku raised his hands and stood up, “Uhm.. Mr. Yamada, is it okay to ask about something not related to your subject?” Hizashi smiled at him, he knew about the questions but what surprised him the most was the fact it was asked the second he came in the room!

He smiled widely at his student, “Better be important!” purposely making them on edge with what question they’re about to ask. Izuku smiled nervously and cleared his throat, “We’ve been trying to investigate who Mr. Aizawa’s married to… and he mentioned that you were the first person to know about that relationship,” he fiddled nervously and opened his book, it was actually an excuse not to look at Present Mic’s expression. For some reason, his expression today was extra scary. It would make anyone understand why Eraserhead and Present Mic were able to remain as friends.

Hizashi let out a laugh, “That’s very sweet of him!”

Izuku laughed with him, “Uhm… yeah!,” he cleared his throat and finally mustered up the courage to ask, “We’d like to ask who she is! And if you’re unable to disclose any information… all we ask is what she’s like!”

He nodded and refrained himself from smiling even wider than before, he put his hands on his mouth and wiped in downwards and immediately showed a flat line. “Okay! I’ll describe how she is.” Everyone screamed and celebrated after finally getting what they wanted, maybe through this Toru wouldn’t have to spy on their teacher and stalk him until she sees where he lives!

He stood there for a second, now that he thought of it… how exactly can he describe her without describing himself? He can’t just make up some baseless information! What if he randomly describes a random hero? But he also can’t get caught up and be accused of being the wife instead! Not like it’s a lie but… it just ruins the whole fun for him!

He looked at the students and all they had were hopeful eyes of finally knowing their teacher, and it placed him in an awkward situation. He thought all of this would be very easy to deal with but boy was he wrong.

“Uhm… he– she’s… very… strong minded,” he started off already shaky but still pushed through. “She cares about the civilians and the environment very much! And.. she always puts herself first before others?” He finally finished the sentence that sounded more like a question.

Everyone had the same thoughts in their minds “Is this guy serious?!” None of the things he said satisfied them one bit, it was really, really, vague! Every pro hero out there fit that description he threw out no matter the gender! Hizashi laughed awkwardly and cleared his throat. “Look… I really can’t tell anything about Eraserhead! That man is… as secretive as he can get!” he confessed.

“In short, you guys are asking the wrong person for this.”

Everyone collectively groaned in despair and defeat after his confession, it was the worst news ever! Izuku was stuck in front of a wall considering their teacher only mentioned one name and one name only, and even that person didn’t know fully! He sighed to himself and looked at his friends, all of them had different reactions upon the revelation. He could tell Katsuki was irritated, and how he could tell Denki, Eijiro, and Mina were all sad that they got caught up on a dead end. Shoto…? He looked normal as ever!

He tapped Shoto’s shoulders and asked him himself, “How are you so calm about this?” he looked at him and raised his eyebrows. “I thought everyone knew?” He looked at Shoto weirdly and faced the board instead, ‘What do you mean everyone knew?’

Izuku sighed to himself after seeing the screen in front of him. Toru was going in fully naked to finally follow Mr. Aizawa during his free time to know who he was with when he wasn’t called a pro hero.

This was all some crazy plan but this was a sheer example of how desperate a bunch of teenagers could get to just know about their teachers personal life, I mean who wouldn’t right? Mr. Aizawa was one of the heroes willing to gamble with their life just to save 1-A, just to save them. And the fact that Mr. Aizawa knew about everyone’s secrets and their dynamics in their lives yet no one knew his! It was truly unfair on their side.

‘I can’t believe my curiosity spiked through after what Mina heard in that teachers’ lounge. It all started because of that anyway, none of this would’ve happened if that didn’t happen!’

FLASHBACK.. TO WHEN IT HAPPENED.

Mina sprinted to the teachers’ lounge after holding dozens of papers Mr. Aizawa asked her to. She huffed and relaxed a bit when she finally reached the door. She realized how it was half open and she could hear the conversation that was happening inside, she knew eavesdropping was bad but she couldn’t help but give into the temptation.

Snipe let out a laugh and held out his phone, “I’ll tell your wife how grateful I am with the gift.”

he teased Aizawa after finding out he would call Hizashi his wife. Shota glared at him, “Sure… sure… whatever.” and sat back down at his desk to eat the bento Hizashi made for him.

Mina with wide eyes and mouth wide open stood there, she was just frozen after hearing such information go her way. She hurriedly knocked on the door and all attention went to her, she looked at Shota who realized that this student heard everything that was being talked about inside the lounge.

“Uhm.. pardon my intrusion! I’m here to give the paper Mr. Aizawa requested for..” she announced and entered the room. She looked at the other teachers inside the lounge and they looked like they were holding in their laughs, she then looked at Shota who had the most shocked face he’s ever had in a good while.

Both of them didn’t speak about anything that was heard or was said. But both of them knew something.

END OF FLASHBACK..

It was the end of classes on a Friday which meant it was time for everyone to go home. After the war, the system of dorms was determined to be useless and everyone needed to see their families and check up on them after such a tragedy struck Japan. All of them were on a call to watch Toru spy on their homeroom teacher. Thankfully, everything she touched would turn invisible too! Which meant Momo wouldn’t have to spend such expensive amounts to buy equipment just for this.

“Okay.. so far nothing is happening,” Toru said on the other line as she followed Mr. Aizawa who wore civilian clothes himself, not like he was popular but to at least refrain from having attention to himself. “Oh! He just entered a cafe.”

Everyone on the other line with Izuku urged her to come in the cafe as well to get a closer look to who he was meeting with, “Quick! He might be going on a date!” Denki added as Toru entered the cafe he went in.

She scanned the people in the cafe and was shocked with what she saw, “Holy shit guys…” her hands were on her mouth that was wide open, “There’s no way this is real.”

Everyone was on the edge of their seats, waiting for her to finally tell what she saw. Katsuki was extra irritated and impatient too, “Just tell us!” he yelled at her. She cleared her throat and went out of the cafe after getting the answer she wanted.

“I just entered that place and saw Mr. Aizawa kissing someone—he literally just kissed Mr. Yamada!” she squealed in delight. Everyone roared at the other line and all of them were shocked with who the person actually was, they all connected the dots.

The reason why Mr. Yamada was the first person to know about Mr. Aizawa’s relationship was because he was part of it. Both of them were the first people who knew about it! Oh how sneaky of Mr. Aizawa.

Mina had her camera open with just her mouth open down to the floor, “Oh my god! That’s why Mr. Yamada said he first before she… he was gonna to talk about himself!” she connected. Ochako, who heard her connect the dots, screamed into her mic. “Oh my god! There’s no way!”

Izuku suddenly remembered what Shoto meant with what he said that time during class, “Shoto! Did you know about this before everyone else?!” he asked over the phone. Shoto who was unfazed and silent the whole time with his camera open raised his hands and did a thumbs up. “I thought everyone knew.” Shoto added.

“What? How’d you know?!” Denki yelled out to his mic.

“During our first-year. I heard Mr. Aizawa talk to Ms. Kayama about relationship problems, it wasn’t really my business to eavesdrop but that’s not my fault, they were both in the proximity of where I could hear.” He scratched his head while recalling his memory, “I also thought he had a wife… that was until Ms. Kayama mentioned Mr. Yamada’s first name. So that’s how I found out.”

Denki reacted with his whole body and glared at his screen, “What the hell Sho-bro! I thought we were family! Why didn’t you tell us!” he huffed and crossed his arms. Shoto looked at him through the screen, still unfazed, “I thought everyone knew.”

Izuku laughed loudly and so did the rest of them. By far, this was the funniest situation they were in. It was safe to say their mission was complete. They knew who his wife was! Or husband to better fit the name.

Hello Mr. Midoriya, have I ever mentioned not to use my work email for something personal like this? I remember clearly how I’m very strict about this rule especially since I receive unimportant emails like these.

If it’s really important for the entire class then I applaud you. You finally got it right, out of all the proofs you’ve “found” out, only 1/2 of them were correct. It's not the most perfect but I’ll accept it.

Took you long enough.

— Aizawa Shota and Yamada Hizashi.

Hizashi looked at the email Izuku sent with wide eyes, “They actually found out!” he squealed in excitement and hugged Shota to his side, “That means we don’t have to hide anything from them, yay!” he shook Shota’s shoulders and kissed his cheeks.

This might be the best thing that ever happened to the both of them, what shocked both of them the most was how fast they were able to find out about their relationship, they were able to crack the case in just two days! Then again, they’re teenagers. If they want answers to something that really piques their interest, they’ll do anything just to get those answers. Also because they’re UA students. In Hizashi’s words… monsters!
